G62 144dx key replacement

My left arrow on my G62 144DX black keyboard came off. Looks in good shape but cannot get it to click back on. Any suggestions?

G62-144DX notebook does not start

Hi,
Out of nowhere, I had a problem with the wireless operation on a G62-144DX notebook w/ Windows 7 HP 64-bit. I noted the wireless indicator light glowing amber (disconnected) instead of blue (connected). In attempting to download the manual from HP (and get the exact model # to diagnose wireless issue) I removed the Battery while the AC power was connected (to read the model # on label under battery) while the notebook was upside down with display open. Since that point I have been unable to turn on the unit. I tried a reset procedure (found online directing to hold power button down for 15 seconds with battery out and AC disconnected) but to no avail. When I press the power button it is normally supposed to light up and the notebook should boot, but it does not. I have verified (with a voltmeter) the AC power adaptor is working and battery is charged and in good condition.
Can someone suggest what I should try next?

Maybe you are looking at the wrong side. My laptop has ram on both sides, one on the underside access by a panel and one on top under the keyboard.

HP G62-144DX Refuses to power on

I have the same model G62-144DX notebook with a similar problem (refuses to power on) although I have no lights whatsoever and was hoping you could help! I'm looking for the RTC battery, so I can remove it and reset the unit, but can't find it. The owner's manual shows it on page 51 under the RAM, but the only thing I see is a small can (appears to be a capacitor) with #

There are 2 service manuals on the page for your model, strange, one says under the bottom cover, the other says remove the main board.

Upgrading CPU on G62-144dx Notebook

I am looking to upgrade the processor on my G62-144dx Notebook, Product WA91UA#ABA. I currently have the factory-installed i3 2.13 GHz processor. I have looked at the manual and noticed that the compatible processors with the speeds that I require -- 2.66 GHz and above, to run Sonar X1 Studio software -- are noted for "model 1.1 only." How can I tell if I have model 1.1?
If I do not have the correct model ("1.1"), would one of the "model 1.1"-specific processors still be functional on this computer, albeit with less than optimal performance, or is there another issue (like physically not fitting the motherboard) that prevents such an installation?

From 2.3GHz to 2.4GHz you won't gain anything. But if you wish, you can try 35W processors listed on page #1 of the following document:

Note: You can't overclock many branded machines. Vendors lock them in BIOS. One understanding reason: they don't want customers overclock machines then after one or two months cunstomers send machines back due to overheat.

Windows 7 64-bit update won't run after hard drive replacement HP G62-144DX

Replaced hard drive, ran recovery discs, everything OK except that windows 7 64-bit would not update. Services showed windows update to be running, but update gave error message: service not started. Reinstalled old hard drive which before all tests had showed drive to be defective and tried again, this time all ran Ok and windows update ran. This time all tests showed the orginal hard drive to be OK.

G62 primary battery replacement

Every time I turn on my G62 laptop, I get a message stating that my primary (internal) battery is very low and needs to be replaced. I've done the test and it definitely needs to be changed. I'm having trouble figuring out which battery I'm supposed to buy. I tried searching the HP store, but I keep getting different results. Can someone link me to the appropriate battery? Thanks!

Standard battery is MU06, you can usually find Discounted Genuine HP batteries on Amazon or eBay by searching using MU06, be wary of low priced batteries that are not Genuine HP batteries, they use low quality Lion cells in them and they do not last.

Equium L20: Keyboard keys replacing

Had to remove 2 keys on the keyboard to clean away a small piece of wood that had slipped in. However for the life of me I can replace the keys correctly. I'm used two notebooks and could always clip them back no problem at all.
Can't get these back on for love nor money...any body offer any help (ideally diagramatical)?
PS: Keys and plastic backing are definately not broken / snapped / cracked or lost.

I don't know how to help you. Usually, to fix the key caps again on the keyboard you have to press down only the caps to the place where the keys were placed before.
A different procedure is not known to me.
Maybe something is broken (but you said it's not a case).
However if you cannot fix the keys yourself so I would recommend contacting a service guy with more experience for the help

G62-355dx cpu replaced still not working

My g62-355dx is still not working after replacing the cpu (thats what the blink code was....caps lock blinking once every few seconds) so after replacing the cpu I am still getting the same blink code....tried the hard reset before replacing the cpu but havent tried it after....I just need to know if its possibly the mother board and if a motherboard from a different g62 model will work in my 355dx....

This is about the third post of its type I have fielded in the last month or so and I will repeat what I have always maintained. It is almost never the CPU, regardless of the blink code. It is almost always the motherboard. Your by far safest bet is to replace like with like although likely another g62-300 series motherboard will work, if it has any feature yours did not or vice versa it may take some case mods to make it fit and you want to avoid that.

Typically the warranty does not cover keyboard damage. It is considered customer inflicted damage. However, you can try to plead your case with the Call Center folks as every case is different. A replacement keyboard is probably less than $30 and very easy to install. I would do that before I tried to talk HP into coverring it.

How much would it cost me to get three typing keys replaced on my mac book pro 13"?

my macbook has three missing keys on the key board. i would love to know how much it would cost me to replace them.

Do you still have applecare on your machine? If so then you might be able to get replacement at no cost to you, however is you do no thave the apple care then you might need to pay a little to get replacement keys. Your best bet is to go to the Apple Store and ask the genius.

How comes your warranty has expired?
The T-Series sold in Germany have a 3 year warranty as standard, if it only had a 1 year warranty it must still be valid as the T400 hasn't been on the market for over a year.
