G7-1139WM Laptop will no longer power on

Hi,
My son's G7-1139WM laptop will no longer power on. Pressing the power button does not do anything, there are no lights or beep codes. When I remove the battery the light at the AC Power connector is Blue, with the battery plugged in the light is amber. I would be very appreciative of any help you can provide.

The only thing to do it take it in for repair at an AASP, due to it's age I doubt an Apple Store would work on it but an AASP may. We cannot diagose because it could be anything from a main logic board, to a hard drive or even a power supply. Without the correct tools to test it, it's a total guess.

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

try a reset of iPhone and then a restore,best, as new and if it then functions correctly try restoring with your backup

Laptop will no longer drag and drop.

Satellite Windows 8 laptop will no longer boot up after performing a power cycle

I have a Satellite C855-55107 laptop. It had been working fine, and one day starting this problem: When booting up, it would bring the desktop screen up, and would not let me get to the sign in screen. I went to the Troubleshooting Help here and performed a power cycle. Now, it won't even boot up. The power is working fine. What do I need to do, and what do you think caused the original problem?

Hi! bec! I don't run W8. You could have picked up a Virus ect. Hard to really tell. There will be better replies during the week. I would restore back to factory.If you were infected, that should cure that problem. You could also make a system repair disk and try to boot with it. It can be made with any computer that is running W8. If you don't have that option, I guess it's back to factory.

THROUGH F12 AT STARTUP
To access the System Restore, Refresh and Reset options using the F12 option at startup, perform the following:
If not already, ensure the computer is completely shut down. How To: Shut Down a Laptop with Windows 8
Now restart the computer by pressing the power button - IMMEDIATELY start tapping the F12 key on the keyboard until the "Boot Menu" screen appears.
Using the arrow keys, select <HDD Recovery> and press "Enter".
On the next screen you are asked to confirm if you want to contiue with recovery. Select "Yes".
The computer will bring you to the Advanced startup screen.
Select Troubleshoot. Under Troubleshoot you will see “Refresh” and “Reset”.
Select “Advanced options.” Located here is "System Restore."

Asus laptop will no longer connect wirelessly to HP printer

My Asus laptop was connected to my HP PhotoSmart 7420 printer, wirelessly with no issues. In the last month, I upgraded my Comcast internet service to the fastest speed Comcast has available. In addition, I replaced my router ( Linksys Model: WRT1900AC) & range extender (NetGear Universal Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender, 4-port Wi-Fi Adapter). Every WiFi related item in my home works much better with the exception of the printer. On my laptop, I removed the HP printer and asked the laptop to search for it to re-install; the laptop indicates "no printers available"? Even my desktop PC sends error messages indicating that the "scan to computer" feature no longer works when, in fact, it does work?

I wasn't able to find much on a Photosmart 7420, did you perhaps mean Photosmart 7520?
If that is correct, this may just be a case of needing to reconnect the printer to the wireless network again due to the upgraded router and extender
To do this, please restore the network defaults on the printer (press the wrench on the printer's touch screen, select Wireless, then select Restore Network Defaults, should be the last option) and once that completes go back to the same Wireless menu on the printer and run the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer. This will update the connection on the printer itself.
After this completes you will need to remove the driver and re-add it on the computer. How this is done depends on the operating system, so if you're not sure how to remove the driver and re-add it, please let me know which operating system you use and I will get you some instructions

Mobile account on laptop will no longer connect for one user

I have a set of laptops with user accounts set up on them as mobile accounts. This morning one user stuck in his username and password, and the login panel went away and the "purple stars" came up, but it hung there and didn't continue and log him in. After about 5 minutes he got tired of waiting and hit the power button on the laptop. When it rebooted, the usual login panel offering his name, the local administrator account and "other" was missing his name -- just the admin account and "Other". Then he came to find me...
If I go to "Other..." and ldap is green light, and put in his username and password, it shakes it's head like he doesn't exist. I've tried all of the usual tricks back on the Open Directory server -- turn his account off and back on, change the password save change it back, etc. I have compared the setup with several other users who work just fine, and I can't see anything different. I have even logged in with my account (which is not set up for mobility) and it takes the username and password and refuses after a certain point in the login. When I log in with other mobile accounts, it logs in and gets as far as offering to create a local directory (which I cancel out of.) So it's just this one user's account.
When I log in to the local admin account and run system prefs and go to accounts, his account is there and shown as type "mobile". His directory is there, and an 'ls -l' on it shows that he owns it. I've run the directory utility, and everything looks great -- and I can log on via ldap with the other accounts. If I break ldap connectivity by turning off the airport and unplugging the ethernet cable, the light goes red and then the only option on the login panel is the local admin account, not the lodmin plus his account in local mode.
Anybody know what's broken? Evidently the mobile accounts don't like to be powered off in the middle of a login! Anybody know if there is some lock file somewhere that I needs to be deleted?

I Have a MACBOOK A1181it will no longer power up. I used the AC adapter and it worked for a while. I can hear fan running but no screen. If battery is bad would that stop it from working.

My phone will not power on. I got off the phone with my husband and two minutes later, it was dead. I charged it all night and still nothing.

My A1208 iMac will no longer power on

I have a iMac core 2 duo model a1208 (late 2006) that has never had any problems whatsoever until last year, it had trouble powering on. It would not respond to the power button for extended periods of time, then would miraculously turn on one day. The last time I shut it down was in November, and it has not been able to power on since. I checked the diagnostic lights, and they come on green when its plugged in. This seems to be a common issue, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere online. Any suggestions?

WRT160N Will No Longer Power On

I've been reading through the forums here hoping to find someone else with the same problem I am experiencing, but so far I seem to be alone. Unfortunately, I now see that there are a great number of users that are experiencing broadcasting issues with their WRT160N. I have owned mine for just about a year now (purchased in April 2009), and have been fortunate enough to not have experienced problems with the router broadcasting wifi (or if I have I've chalked it up to my ISP's signal quality).
Perhaps this is a dumb question, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the WRT160N shutting down and refusing to power on. I run the router 24/7 in a well ventilated area away from any external heat sources and it is normally plugged into a surge protector. I woke up this morning to find the router off and I've tried everything I can think of to turn it on, to no avail. I've tried multiple outlets, holding the reset button, I even tried using a different power cable. It seems that the router is completely dead. Given that this router is not even a year old, I am very disappointed with this product.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I'll be shopping for a non-Linksys router very soon.

I've tried a similar power cable already with no luck. I guess that means I'll need to try new hardware alltogether, which I figured I was going to have to do but was hoping to avoid. Cheap electronics aside, it's a bit frustrating to put money down on something only to have it become unreliable less than a year later. I've owned many wireless routers at this point (mostly Linksys) and have never had one totally fail on me so fast. Unfortunately my brand loyalty has softened quite a bit after this incident.

MacBook Pro 4, 1 will no longer turn on

My MacBook Pro 4, 1 will no longer power up. It was working great when I shut it down but acts like it has no power now. I have tried the instructions for resetting the SMC with no luck. Any other ideas on what to do or the possible cause are appreciated!

I wanted to add that when I press the power button the power indicator light on the lid release will come on momentarily but then off real quick. About 4-5 seconds later the light again will flash on and off. After that, nothing. Maybe that means something?

HP Pavilion Desktop a6000y will no longer turn on

I have a Pavilion PC A6000y that is >5 years old, with Windows Vista. For a time, it would not start up, no blue indicator light, but if left "on" would ultimately boot up after several minutes, and operate properly. I also left it on for >1 week without any trouble, until an electrical storm when I lost power to the house. It will no longer power up at all, not even blue screen. I have replaced the rear fan, replaced the complete power unit with exact spec OEM product, and replaced the power switch. Also removed and re-plugged in the memory boards. Further to one thread on here, I unplugged everything, including the power cord, held the power button down for 30 seconds and released it, switched the red power input toggle to 220 volts from 110 volts for 30 seconds and then back again. Plugged it back in, using wall outlet directly, no power strip, still absolutely nothing. I have held down several function keys during start, nothing. Fan does run, but no power light, no screen image. What do I do next? Many thanks in advance.

AmherstDKE, welcome to the forum.
With an older computer, I always suspect the power supply unit (PSU); especially when there has been a power outage. The power surge can cause the PSU to fail. Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot it.
You should always have the computer connected through a Surge Protector. This will protect your computer if there is a power outage.

yeah tried all that. the only thing that i havent tried is to delete itunes completely and restart. its the same with the ipad. i havent done a master reset. i just think it has to be something rather simple as it acknowledges that i have plugged in the ipad as it makes the noise it just come up usb not recognized. it shows up as an unknown device that doestn have any drivers

the problem is that just updated the itunes on the computer and now the ipod won't connect because apparently the itunes on the ipod is not up to date but the iod is telling me that is is up to date, so i can't do a software update.
