G780 Wireless Drivers - Failed to install

I recently purchased a Lenovo G780 from newegg on some end of year sales, the computer came with (almost) exactly what I was looking for and within a price range I was comfortable in investing. I am very happy with the performance of the PC, but ultimately decided to swap windows 8 out for windows 7 home premuim.
That said I have done a clean installation of Win7, downloaded all the drivers from the support section of the website. Everything was working and going great until I got to this driver Intel WiMax Driver. The card is identified in the device manager as "Network Controller" but has no driver, nor can windows find another to install. I spent a few hours searching here and on google, unable to find similar problems regarding the wifi.
When the file for the download is opened, it gives a message saying "Unable to find specified path" or something along the lines and closes through a series of message boxes. My question is there perhaps an older version of the driver that can be downloaded from lenovo? Or is there something I have overlooked? I would very much like to get the Wifi working, as it is the last hurdle to getting everything set up.
Thank you for your time!

hi Joshly,
Upon closely checking the spare parts on the Lenovo G780, it looks like it has a Broadcom BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless Network Adapter. To verify if this is really the WLAN card on your PC, use AIDA64 Extreme Edition to determine the model type. Click on the spoiler for details.
Spoiler (Highlight to read)
If this is your wireless adapter, install the Windows 7 (32bit & 64bit) drivers below:
WiFi Link Driver (Intel, CyberTan, Liteon)
v15.0.0.75/5.100.82.112/9.2.0.462/5.100.82.112
0wwl07ww.exe
179MB
Edit: Added a direct link for the Windows 7 drivers
Let me know if you get any errors

  • Drivers Failing to Install

I own an HP G62 Notebook PC, and my warrenty expires in 4 days. Iv'e had this problem for awhile but it hasn't affected me too much. The problem is that my USB controllers can't install properly. When I plug in a flash driver it will show that it is installing the device, but then will say failed to install. It will reconise the flash driver as a "Flash Disk". When my computer starts up it will try to install my Universial Serial Bus Controllers but all of them fail to install.
I have attempted to install the drivers manually off the website but it will say " An error occured while trying to install", it will say the same when i attempt to update the devices from the Device Manager. The thing is I use a pen tablet (mostly as a mouse) for my computer. When I plug it in it will say failed to install but the tablet will work fine. Other than that other devices like flash drives and printers fail to install. And the drivers encounter errors every time I try to install.
So my question. Do you think this is a problem with my motherboard? Because if it is I would have to make sure to get it replaced before my warrenty runs out on the 23rd. Or is there a way to fix this? In the Device Manager there is no yellow triangle that pops up next to the USB controllers. There is only one next to the Microsoft Virual WiFi Miniport Adapter_01, which I don't think is in the way of the problem.

    New Information:
A Flash Drive that I use to use on my laptop works fine. But any other flash drives such as ones from other people and ones not used before will not install.

  • HP Printer and Fax Drivers fails to install, 10.3.9

I am using an iMAC G5 running 10.3.9. Purchased an HP Officejet J6480 all-in-one printer. HP Printer installer fails midway thru install when it reaches the install for the fax drivers. I have downloaded both updates of the driver (9.7 and 9.7.1) from HP and and separately attempted to install each. In both cases, the install failed again at the fax driver install.
I have gone stepwise with HP phone support for both install and uninstall for each HP installer(9.7.1) and the install failed at the same point. HP's assessment is that their product say's it is 10.3 compatible and since it fails only after reaching the the fax driver install, it must be an Apple problem.
Note: I installed the printer on my work-issued Windows XP laptop and it works fine including faxing.
If anyone can provide guidance, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hang on, the 10.3.9 Mac only had 256MB RAM ? Could be part of the cause. I remember reading the minimum requirements, and I do remember it was more than 256MB RAM, maybe 384MB.
I downloaded the 9.7.1 update, it's nearly 200MB. OUCH! Didn't try to install it on my 10.3.9 G4, but did check if it would allow a partial install with a little bit of trickery. It didn't want to play.
Try again with the 2GB installed, if it's still playing up I'll try installing it here. At least then we'll know.
I've loved HP too, had HP and Epson before moving to Canon. The HP was great, but the new kit I looked at (might have been a 6300 Series model got truly awful customer ratings on Amazon and HP sites, especially from Mac users on all versions of OSX.
I'm hopeful the extra RAM will make all the difference.

  • HP 8620 drivers fail to install on SBS 2011

We have repeatedly tried to install the HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 printer on our server to share out to the network machines and the installation ALWAYS fails about 50% in. "Unsuccessful Network Installation" is the dialog we get.
The HP tools to diagnose the installtion probelm does not work on SBS 2011 (Server 2008 R2 x64). Is there a way to install this printer?
Even when we downloaded just the drivers and installed the printer it does not print to the printner. We can install the software on individual machines but there are many of them and we'd rather control this from the server side.
There is no firewall running on this server.

I ran Windows Fixit and after that the patch installed without a problem (see my previous reply).
The Windows Fixit tool did show that it fixed some problems and the update did install after that.
I believe that it is too late for me to run checksur and get anything meaningfull since it appears the problems have been fixed and the update is now installed.
In hindsight I wish that I had not run the Windows Fixit and instead took your advice and maybe I would have been able to determine what the problem was.
Just as a side note, I did manually download the patch and tried to install it prior to the Windows Fixit and it still did not install.

  • Pci can drivers fail to install for ni-can 2.3.3

after upgrading to labview 8.2, i realized that i needed to upgrade my
version of ni-can in order to access my pci can interface.  the
pci can card had been working fine with labview 8.0 and ni can 2.3.2 up
to this point.  i left the card in the machine, downloaded ni can
2.3.3, and ran the installer.  however, when i rebooted and the
"found new hardware" wizard launched, it was unable to locate the
driver files.  after selecting to let the system locate driver
files automatically, i recieved the error message:
there was a problem installing this hardware
an error occurred during the installation of the device
the system cannot find the file specified
i then attempted uninstalling ni can, removing the card, reinstalling
the software, and THEN reinstalling the card; however this produced the
same results.  any ideas on what i need to do to get drivers
installed that will work with labview 8.2?
    thanks.
    Ben.

    Hi
First of all you need to act with administrator rights.
It seems something went wrong during driver upgrade. Right now the situation is that you have the 2.3.2 driver installed and the device is in the computer too?
If not uninstall 2.3.3 and reinstall 2.3.2 and the CAN device and reboot.
Now remove the CAN device first and after booting again uninstall the driver and delete the NI CAN folder if still available. This will hopefully remove all hardware related information from the registry.
Then boot again and install the 2.3.3 driver, then boot again and install the device.
    Hope that helps.

  • HP all in one ms237 cant get wireless drivers to work

Hi i have a HP all in one PC, ive had this PC for a very long time, we upgraded to windows 8 and i dont remember how but i did manage to get wireless drivers on it at one point. the PC's hard drive went out and so i bought a new one and re-installed windows 8 (64 bit) onto it and now i cant get wireless drivers to get installed on it. I tried running the drivers with windows 7 compatability but no dice. I also tried different versions of the driver and still no luck, device manager will see the wireless card but says its not working properly (driver issue) the weird thing is that when i uninstall the drivers for it i can see the adapter in adpater settings, however when i install newer drivers and it goes back to being non existent lol. Any ideas?

    Hello @rapid3642,
I understand that you are having issues getting your wireless to work on your HP Pavilion All-in-One MS237 Desktop PC running Windows 8. As you probably have already figured out there are no Windows 8 drivers for your computer. I can see why you would have issues installing Windows 7 drivers on a Windows 8 computer. What you probably did initially was upgrade your Windows 7 to Windows 8 with the driver already installed. Unlike a new Windows 8 installation where you need to install the drivers an upgrade will already have drivers installed and the operating system is simply replacing what is needed without having to go through the installation process.
I would recommend that you either install your original Windows 7 and then upgrade to Windows 8 or you may want to look at replacing the 802.11 b/g/n PCI express wireless half-length mini card with one that is compatible with Windows 8.
I hope this helps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

    Hi:
According to the hardware ID you posted (USB\VID_0CF3&PID_311D&REV_0001), that decodes to an Atheros bluetooth radio.

I have a copy of Windows 7, and I am trying to bring up Boot Camp on my MacBook with Snow Leopard. But my Snow Leopard install disk is too old for Windows 7, so attempted Boot Camp install of drivers fails.
I have hand-installed the NVidia graphics driver, and I have keyboard, minimal trackpad, and hardwire to internet all working. So the WIndows machine is usable. But I am hurting for wi-fi, better trackpad, and whatever else is delivered by Boot Camp. I can't use any of the Boot Camp upgrades because I do not have XP or Vista.

While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use Boot Camp. There's a Boot Camp Support Community where everybody uses Boot Camp. You should also post this question there.

  • Satellite M110: Wireless Broadband USB Modem fails to Install

    Hello all,
    I have a M110 Satelite mahine running XP SP3.
I have tried two different brands of Wireless USB modems. Both install the modem portion of the drivers corectly and the Device Manager shows this. However the Coms Port drivers do not install. The installation wizard gives the message "Driver's did not install correctly, Access is denied".
The modem providers cannot explain the failure as the modems will work on my desktop (vista) machine without any issues just plug and play so to speak.
    I have tried -
1)disabling all anitvirus and firewall programs.
2)disabling and/or removing all other modems and internet connections
    3)updating BIOS
4)re-starts completed after all above steps
5)Checked all drivers are the latest and most up to date.
Reverting to the "out of box" state by re-loading windows is not an option as I run a number programs on my machine which are no longer available in the format I use in my business. Some suggestion has been made by one tech that the Windows Registry Values are incorrect and are blocking the installation?

You said, that the Wireless USB modems works on your desktop with Vista. Do the modems support Windows XP or Windows XP SP3?
    I would make a downgrade to SP2.
Furthermore I think the best way would be a reinstallation of Windows. If its not an option, test it on an other HDD in notebook.
So you have no risk to loose your data.

  • Does the core install media include wireless drivers?

I was originally planning on doing a net install but that would require me to hook up to a wired connection, does the core install media include wireless drivers so I can connect via wireless? I use an intel wireless card that was supported out of the box on my previous arch install, no ndiswrapper or anything like that needed. Thanks in advance.

Firmware for all cards are not available though due to silly licensing.

Can you be specific as to what drivers are not installing? An issue that can be had when doing PNPEnum is that child devices of something that does not have a driver installed are not visible to the PNPEnum. A way to get around that is you can force the
injection of drivers that are not getting installed. Something like you can add a second Inject Driver step but, have it be a selection profile of drivers that always get missed because they are children.

  • HP C1680 fails to install Software

    Can you please help
I have just reinstalled my operating system Windows 7 6- bit OS and needed to reinstall my printer HP Photosmart C6180 All in One. When I first got my new PC( Dell XPS 501L windows 7 Intel core i5. 243M  2.40GHz)  I originally install the whole package with no issues.
after the reinstall of the OS, this is issue I was I getting when I tried to reinstalled the HP application (AIO_CDA_FSW_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe )
    Error message:-
    C:\Users\andylouey\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS4864\setup\HPzPNP.ice.
     I have done the following:
Tried to install from an old download of the software.  Result Failed to install message as above.
Tried the original install CD and also tried to use them in various compatibility modes. Result Failed.
Downloaded the critical updates from HP solved the above error message result the above error message was solved.
Downloaded the latest install software program for my HP printer from the HP website tried again to install failed
Ran the HP Scan doctor reported that the printer drivers are all working asked it to run the scan program it reported that it need the full install of the C1680 software to run this
I got the download again ran it. It extracts the file then just disappears and looking at the task manager there is not install running. So again failed
For the second time I downloaded the HP installer network printer wizard but this failed and just keeps going round in circles> It finishes the download gets to the extracting point and then goes back to the identify printer( which is listed) then goes back once again and downloads the install software.
Other steps I have taken. I used the old installation disk to do a complete uninstall of all the drivers and software  using Utilities> CCC> Uninstall_ L2.bat . This wored and uninstalled the printer and drivers and I think any remaining software.  I also deleted all the %TEMP% files that my Laptop would allow.
Then once again I I used the install wizard first without the USB cable disconnected then the wizard asked me to plug it in. I plugged it in and HP Wizard found the printer and downloaded the appropriate software completed the download and extracted it and then NOTHING.
I have also downloaded the critical update:-
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-126392-2&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en...
Can you suggest a solution help. In my view I need to start from scratch and remove all traces of any HP software and drivers and start over. My only issue with this I have done this and still have the same issues.  If I go to Microsoft uninstall utility there isn’t anything to uninstall.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
PS. HP wizard has finished downloading for the fourth time and looping to discovering the device again :-( HELP!!!!!!!!
Thanks in adbance for your replies Andy

    Hi
Thank you for your reply and your advice and help
If you look at my help request aboveI have described that I have done your suggetion and yet there are still traces of HP on my hard drive and I am still haveing the same issues.
Below are the steps you have referred to which I covered in my original request :-
Other steps I have taken. I used the old installation disk to do a complete uninstall of all the drivers using CCC> Utilities and Uninstall_L3 . I also deleted all the %TEMP% files  (7z) that my Laptop would allow.
Then once again I I used the install wizard first wit the USB cable disconnected then the wizard asked me to plug it in. I plugged it in and HP Wizard found the printer and downloaded the appropriate software completed the download and extracted it and then NOTHING. Except the drivers were installed and the printer was  shown in the devices and printers.
I have also downloaded the critical update:-
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-126392-2&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en...
Can you suggest a solution help. In my view I need to start from scratch and remove all traces of any HP software and drivers and start over. My only issue with this I have done this and still have the same issues. If I go to Microsoft uninstall utility there isn’t anything to uninstall.
I can print to the printer both wirelessly and via the USB port. But the Solution center will not install just keeps looping. ie idenifies the printer downloads the latest sofware and extracts it then just dissapears of the screen. Nothing comes up and there are no HP programs running in the applications task manager and no processes either.
Thank you in advance for your reply. Regards Andy
