Galaxy Note 2 blank touch screen data recovery

Got a new Note II because I had insurance, but the old touch screen is completely broken (blank). I was hoping to transfer data to my PC via USB, but is there ANY way to get to the data with no screen interface?

First thing first, do you have "USB Debugging" enabled?
If so, you can use ADB to access the phone via a PC
I had a completely smashed Note II screen before, nothing worked at all with my fingers, but the S-Pen worked fine!
(Try using an MHL adapter and connect it via HDMI to a monitor, if the screen shows up you can try the pen)

  • My mail app is frozen does not respoind to touch screen

suddenly my Mail App is frozen. It does not respond to the touch screen at all.

Try restarting the device and see if that works. If you find that there was no help from that use these steps (located in Apple article HT5137):
Follow these steps to force an app to close:
From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
Tap and hold on the app.
When it starts to jiggle, tap the red - icon to close it.
Double-click the Home button and try opening the app aga

  • I can not get the touch screen to work

How do I get he touch screen to work?

You can try resetting the device by holding down the sleep and home key, past when you see the power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that helps.
If not you can try a complete restore with iTunes....or it's time to head to the apple store and have them look at it.

    Post relates to: Zire 71

The Zire 71 sometimes suffers ribbon cable problems as it ages.  This cable connects the screen to the motherboard, and gets stressed each time you slide the halves apart to use the camera.
If you've tried all the normal methods to fix screen problems - clearing out any dirt/grit that may be caught between the frame edge and screen with a slice of a business card, running the Digitiser calibration from the Prefs menu, and tried all the Resets (Soft, Warm, and Hard) then this may be the problem and requires repair.

  • Windows 8.1 hyperlinks not responding to touch screen

I was running with the beta version 3 34. Running on surface pro 2 windows 8.1. Hyperlinks on pages do not respond to touch, however I am able to scroll up and down and do other things. Under mouse control the hyperlinks are slow to respond. I just uninstalled the beta and downloaded the current version of the site. Having the same problem. Explorer works find, both the app and the full version. Firefox was working fine until an update yesterday. Suggestions please.

Hello, try '''disabling graphics hardware acceleration'''.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
Open Firefox ''Options'' window as follows:
    * Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options''
    * In the Firefox Options window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
    * In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
    * Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • Galaxy Note 3 blank screen

Battery removal, soft and hard resets no help.  Phone appears to be operational (responds to touch, icons light up at bottom, can see screenshots when connected to PC).  This happened sometime during the night while using an alarm clock app.  Any ideas before sending for repair?

Oh boy! Sorry to see there is a blank screen on your Note 3. That makes it difficult to do anything with the phone. You have done the steps we would have had you complete when this happens. Is there any damage to the phone? If not, we can check on replacement options since we do not repair phones.

  • Ipod touch not responding blank white screen cant reset please help?

    Please Help!!
I Just got the new a new ipod touch which was working fine.  I began updating to new apple software and while doing so I lost internet connection and ipod was unplugged.  Now all I get is a blank white or green screen even after reset.  The ipod won't even register when plugged into computer or itunes.  What can I do?? If I wait until the battery dies and run a restore will it work?? If so How do I get the games back I purchased recently? Please help I'm pretty new to all this.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Officejet 6700 Premium blank touch screen

A few days ago the touch/control screen on my Officejet Premium 6700, 14 months old, went blank.  It's lit, as are the home and arrow icons, (which don't function).  I've unplugged and replugged in a variety of ways, including directly to the wall outlet, did a hard reset, taking the ink cartridges out and putting them back in.  The power cord connection at the printer end is a bit wobbly at the bottom though solid at the top.    But if the problem is the power cord,  how would the printer be on and able to print from the computer.      Ideas?   My computer is an iMac Desktop, and the computer is attached with a USB cable.

My  Officejet 6700 is less that a year old.
I have had several times recently that it has said that it will not scan, copy or fax.  I have been able to persuade it to copy and print for me until today. Now the screen is black. The on button is lit, and the question mark in the corner is lit, but it will not respond to any attempts to get it to function. I am slow to just pull the plug and start over because it recently gave me a message to not unplug it with out turning the power off first. Now it will not turn off!  I am unable to power it down. I am not sure what to try next as it does not respond.
    Please help me.
    Thank you.

  • Will not boot - Blank Gray Screen - Help!

I was trying to use Boot Camp to partition my new iMac to allow a small several Windows Applications. Followed (I think) online instructions including reformatting. When it looked like it was repeating the "formatting" I hit cancel figuring I would stop the partitioning and get advice......result was iMac shut down and now when I start I get the chime and a plane gray screen with no option to access or reboot. I tried PRAM (opions-control PR) and that did not get results......not sure what else to try.

Hi Again Nerowolf and thanks for your help and patience.......sorry don't know the John Titor you mentioned.
    Google "John Totor"
But I did try the DVD and holding down "C" while rebooting and while there was some hopful clicking no result. Do you have other suggestions.......am wondering if a trip back to the store might be a good move!
I suspect a hardware problem. Back to the store sounds like the appropriate thing to do.
Booting from a DVD has very little to do with the computer OS.
But first - do this, Sometimes it does miraculous things:
    ■ Shut down your computer. Turn the computer back on and immediately hold down Command-Option-P-R, continuing to press until you hear the startup sound for the second time. This resets the computer’s parameter random-access memory (PRAM).
IMPORTANT: Resetting PRAM may change some system settings and preferences. Use System Preferences to restore your settings.
    ■ If resetting PRAM doesn’t solve the problem, reset non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM). When the “To continue booting ...” message appears, type “reset-nvram” and press Return. Then type “reset-all” and press Return.
    Post back the results.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3 S-Pen screen capture not working after Lollipop Update

Really annoyed that I updated! It's been a pain in the a**, and more trouble then it's worth! Most annoying thing of all is the spen no longer does screenshots!!!
    Anyone???
Or give me another way to screenshot??

I'm really sorry I updated as well. You have other options for screenshot:
    - Press and hold the power button at the same time for a second or two
    or
    - When you remove your s-pen and the wheel appears, you can click on the
    2nd icon from the right
My preferred method is still using the button on the pen and I'm
exceptionally annoyed this is no longer working.

  • Touch screen will not function on settings app

went to settings to change something and screen is frozen.  will not move in any direction with touch of finger.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Touch screen will not function on email

Hi, the touch screen on my Iphone 4 will not function when I open email.  It seems to work with all other apps/areas on the phone.  In addition, I cannot power off as the power off button does nothing, nor can I do a hard reset.  Has anyone else had this problem or know what I can do to fix this?  Thank you!
