Galaxy S6 teardown reveals a battery that's almost impossible to replace

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is a cutting edge piece of mobile technology, so who can resist wanting to take a peek inside at the hardware and at how it’s all put together?
Galaxy S6 teardown reveals battery that's difficult to replace

I have had a ZT for 2 weeks now with no major issues. I have had to reset it a few times, but that was no big deal. The battery life is great on it. I have 207 CDs/2486 songs on it (at 28 kbps/WMA) and have 8 GB still left on it. The sound is great. The player is sturdy. I am 40-something, and just wanted one place to store by favorite CDs (I have about 700).
Hard dri've players are not meant to be bumped around, even iPods. I think the battery is supposed to have about 300 charges on it. With a 24-hour battery life, and me with an 8-5 job, I will probably only use it 2-3 hours a weekday, so one charge is lasting a week. I read a thread here that said that CL will replace the battery for $99, but no one has done that yet (since the players are so new).
I have not tried to use it as a mass storage device... I have a couple of cheap pen dri'ves for that. I understand it can be done as long as the Creative software is on all computers that you connect your ZT to. This is not a big deal to me, but I can appreciate other people's desire for this. I wanted a player that could store 300+ CDs on it, and this fits the bill well.

  • Another burst A1189 battery that doesn't fit within the recall

Battery model A1189, Serial No. 6N64905XW4HB. Was doing the abrupt shut offs, started about a month ago. Battery Update and all other patches were current. Now its bulged out and is now unsafe if usable at all. But I guess that's my problem, not Apple's. Sorry your power source is obviously defective, but we can't help you. Great service.
Whats scary is the new ones that are now inside the case, where will those have room to bulge out of? And will Apple say you're SOL if you don't fit what they determined to be the range of serial numbers that were bad?

Glad you got your issue sorted.

Apple doesn't make their own batteries. They use batteries made by Sony, SMP, etc. If your colleagues want to discuss the batteries in Lenovo laptops, which you call 'pretty decent', you might refer them to this article discussing the recall of over half a million batteries in Lenovo laptops, and the related incident at the LA International Airport in which a Lenovo T43 caught fire due to a faulty battery.
    Just some food for thought...
As a side note, a brand new Lenovo T400 that my work's IT department issued to me last week died this morning - it fails to boot beyond the initial BIOS screen. That Lenovo was my fifth work-provided PC laptop in the past 3 years. My 3-year old MBP is working just perfectly...and I'm still productive at work at this very moment because I'm running an image of a corporate Windows installation via Parallels on my MBP.

  • Where can I get an external battery that can power my Mac Book pro Retnia?

Where can I get an external battery that can power my Mac Book pro Retnia? When I get off a long fight, I have no time to recharge.

Try searching for "external battery macbook pro retina" (without quotes). You should find at least three potential answers in the first two pages.
I can't give you a specific recommendation, because I haven't (yet) tried any of them.

  • Hi, I'm having a macbook pro here and it spoiled after a year of using, i though it was the power adapter problem because when i try to charge my mac battery that is depleted it shows a very dim light and my mac won't start up

Try Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
If that doesn't help, try Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

    Battery not charging:
    1. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo
    2. Try another wall socket
    3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
    4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)
    5. Clean Lightning port with compress air or new paint brush

  • Trying to find replacement battery thats performs like the original

I have a aluminum unibody 15" MacBook Pro, it's about year and a half old. The battery isn't performing like it used too, and I'm looking to replace it. The only problem is that every review I read says the the replacement battery is horrible compared to the original, even from the apple website and OEM. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement battery that will perform the the original battery came with it?

I think that your best option is to get one from Apple even though it will be the most expensive.  I have seen no statements in regards to the quality of them, but I have no reason to believe any one might have better ones.
I have seen that through Amazon one can order OEM batteries for Apple MBPs and at more favorable prices. They look 'real' and I suspect that they are gray market items.  Nevertheless Caveat Emptor.
iFixit.com also sells MBP batteries, but I don't know if they have any in stock.
I certainly would avoid anything offered on e-bay in the bargain category.
If you do choose to go third party, note that you will need a #0 Triwing driver for the battery swap.
    Ciao.

How many mAh is the battery that comes with the 8130?
I opened my phone up and it does not say how many mAh it is. I am looking on ebay for an additional battery and want to get one equal to or better than the current one
    Solved!

The 8130 comes with a 900mAh battery. Make sure you get a compatible battery for the BlackBerry device. One is listed here:

  • Optimizing iPhone battery life: Between charges and before replacement

FYI. An excellent iPhone battery care article by iPhoneAtlas.com:
Optimizing iPhone battery life: Between charges and before replacement
    http://www.iphoneatlas.com/2007/07/09/optimizing-iphone-battery-life-between-cha rges-and-before-replacement/

OK, I agree that is a completely false statement. The rest of the article is pretty good.
If you assume a linear decrease in battery charge for each full cycle (which it really isn't, but much easier to model in a spreadsheet). Then 80% of original charge after 400 full cycles is approximately 0.8% loss in battery charge per full charge cycle (again this is a simplification, stay with me). This means that after 400 cycles, you are at approximately 80% of your original total charge level. As stated by Apple.
So, extrapolating that out to EOL (end of life) which Apple assumes to be 50% battery charge, it would take approximately 1,000 full charge cycles for your battery to be EOL (according to Apple). It would actually be slightly less than that since it won't be a linear function.
For me, that's 2 to 4 years of use depending on whether or not I continue using the iPhone as much as I have this first full week.

I'm doubtful it's a missing driver too, but I feel as though it's driver related. The first time XP was installed, after first boot without installing drivers, it was without sound etc, but fundamentally the system worked. Now after first boot, it's very buggy. Thanks for your suggestion Tonny. I ran the tool but it turns out the HDD is fine. Besides, everything runs fine in safe mode.
Does anyone know if (generally speaking) there is any firmware on the graphics card that would get updated via a Windows update? i.e. is it possible that Windows update downloaded a driver for the graphics card that installed new firmware that wasn't all that compatable with XP?

  • After playing 60-70 songs on shuffle battery life is almost all gone.

    Well the subject says everything...
Basically after I play 60-70 songs on shuffle, the battery life is almost gone. (After being fully charged) I don`t know if this is part of the reason why it only plays that many songs, but I do turn my ipod on an off a few times. (About 4-5 times?) But I don`t think that`s a good enough reason for the battery to be so low after playing only about 3-4 hours. I don`t have any songs that go over 5 minutes and I don`t watch videos or put on the slideshow while playing music. And the only times I touch the click wheel is when I want to raise/lower the volume or skip to the next song. So I don`t know why it only plays for such a short time. Does anybody know why it`s doing that? And is there any way I can fix this?
      Windows XP

Try just letting your ipod play one song over and over, and see how long it lasts. If it still has the same problem, get the battery replaced.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.
Here's an example of what I mean:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MEP924FW8E2O/
I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.
    Good luck!
