Gallery composition with link/anchor to a specific image

Hello everyone,
Is there a way go to a page that has a gallery composition in it and being able to show the page with a specific image in the gallery?... So if I have five images on the gallery, the link to the page might include the name of the image or anchor name and when the link is clicked it will land showing that image.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
You can try creating the gallery using widgets and then use 'Hyperlink' to link the individual images to other pages in Muse site.

  • Linking to a specific image in a gallery

    Hi All,
    I'm putting together a book where I have image references within the text of the chapters. Ideally, I'd like to be able to click on the image reference (text) such that an image appears as a gallery overlay, which would then allow me to view the image, zoom it, close it and come back to the text from where I clicked on the image reference.
    I've been having some trouble doing this and am beginning to wonder if it is even possible in iBooks author. The only options I see are:
    1. I insert the image inline; which is not an ideal solution for me in this case as there are a lot of images referred to from a single page and inserting them would crowd the page or make it too long
    2. I insert an image gallery on every page, or at the end of a section or chapter; however when doing this two issues appear. a) I am unable to link from text to a specific image in a gallery (I can only link to the gallery but always the first image opens), and b) when exiting the gallery I am not taken back to the referring page from which I clicked to go to the gallery
    3. Insert the images on separate pages in a chapter of their own; again the same issue crops up here - I am unable to go back to the referring page once done viewing the image.
    I am pretty sure I'm missing something, as this must be a fairly basic requirement for book publishers. I am wondering if there is a lightbox style gallery widget or other functionality in ibooks author that I can use; or perhaps some settings that I am not aware of.
    To recap, I'm looking to link text within a page to an image that would ideally open up on the same page; and once I'm done viewing the image for me to get back to the text I was previously viewing.
    Thanks for your attention and assistance in advance.

    You can't link to an image without bracketing that image with (hidden) text.
    You can link to an individual image in a galllery.
    Linking to an image that blows up on the same page is not a feature of iBA.
    Automactically returning to a hyperkinked bookmarked from the target is not a feature of iBA.
    If these are features you demand now, build an app.
    If these are feature you'd like to maybe see in the future, use iBA's feedback menu and make your requests heard. Good luck.

  • How to create a link with an anchor outside of the edge animation ?

    Hello
    I want to know if it's possible to create a link with an anchor that is placed outside of the edge animation , on the same page ?
    Tanks

    Is it... very likely..., javascript is javascript...Has anyone yet? Maybe i haven't looked.
    You only need 3 files... not including "Edge Includes" and "External Art Assets"
    NAME_edge.js
    NAME_edgeActions.js
    NAME_edgePreload.js
    The advantage of Edge being that u have the "power" to do whatever you like, but as with new things it takes awhile to figure it all out.

  • Photo album & gallery views mess up with links and lay out

    Hi,
    Am having a weird problem in album/gallery function.
    I added links on the album page, but after viewing the gallery, reverting back to the album the link stopped working (main problem), and in the gallery page the link does not appear in cases or is lay-outed very close and then more below.
    Obviously I tried already by duplicating my 2 pages that work quite well and remake the other pages, but the problem persists.
    Anybody can help ?
    Following is a description:
    http://web.mac.com/drieke.tom/Caravanserai/Gilles_works.html
    Album view is fine, link at the bottom works.
    Click through to gallery of photos: link at the bottom of page is gone.
    Going "Back to Album": link at bottom does not work
    On following page s. th similar happens
    http://web.mac.com/drieke.tom/Caravanserai/collaboration_works.html
    Click through to gallery of photos: link at the bottom of page does work, but is now much lower on the page.
    Going "Back to Album": link at bottom does not work
    In my other similar pages it works,
    though there are some minor gliches as well:
    1/
    http://web.mac.com/drieke.tom/Caravanserai/Tom_works.html
    You click a photo in the album and it shows the enlargened photo with tumbnails. Though my link at the bottom is very close to the photo.
    Browse through the photos and when you do "Back to Album", it goes back to the album at once, and with my link at the bottom, it reverts to the main page: "Exhibition"
    2/

    In photo gallery mode, link at bottom is there and works, but very close to photo title.
    Going "Back to Album": link at bottom does work !!
    WHAT GOES WRONG ?
    ANYBODY CAN HELP ?
    Thanks

    Tom:
    Have you tried doing a "Publish All to .Mac" or publishing to a folder on the desktop and seeing it things work there. Often the Publish All will fixe issues I'm having.

  • Anything Wrong with Linking a Site to a Flickr Gallery?

    I am building a gallery site for an artist.  At first I was hoping he'd go with a Wordpress site and I thought about using flicker to incorporate images into the site. There's a plugin called slickr that will call images and galleries and it looked like it would be an easy way for the site owner to manage his images.   In the end, he couldn't get to grips with the whole notion of CMS so we opted out and I'm doing a straight forward static site.
    That still leaves me thinking that flickr might be a good idea in that I can use hyperlinks in text or in the navigation for say a "For Sale" or "Latest Images" flickr gallery that he can maintain.  That way, I can build a static site and he can at least maintain some image galleries.  Not the actual site galleries of course, but you know what I mean.
    Are there any drawbacks to this idea?  Is it really naff and unprofessional?  Are there better image galleries than flickr?
    Any advice welcome.
    Regards
    Martin

    Thanks for that.  I'll check out the SimpleView thing and as far as putting up a gallery on the site of course, that's what I'm going to do.  I like the whole Lightbox thing and I intend putting up around 6 gallery pages with about 6 images per page as a sample of the artists work.  My experience so far is that artist people can generate excruciating levels of pain through indecision!  I'm trying to pin the chap down and am having to say, "Once it's up it's up!"  Linking to a flickr gallery would provide a way for him to present new works and so on without it coming back to me for continual updates.
    I like the idea of flickr because of the whole social network thing and I guess if he makes an impression through his web site and the flickr site, there's the added bonus of generating traffic, generating link backs and improving search engine rankings.
    What I want to know is whether there are better options than flickr or if there are any pitfalls/negatives that I need to consider?
    Many thanks
    Martin

  • How to create a working link anchor in an EXCEL document with the report generation toolkit?

    I am using the latest report generation toolkit and want to add links on the first worksheet pointing to the other worksheets in the same document.
    I am using the "Append Hypertext Link Anchor to Report" VI. The links are created, but don't work when clicking them.
    Question now is: How does a link to a cell on a different worksheet needs to look like?
    It can not be that complicated but all variations I tried did not work and I could not find any information about this problem. So any help is appreciated!
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ingo
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks, Brian, for your support! - It's working.
    It's hard to understand why NI did not pass this parameter to the top of the call chain...
    I also needed some time to understand the syntax of the string passed to the subaddress node:
    The name of the worksheet needs to be framed by single quotation marks and the following cell address must preceeded by an exclamation point (!).
    A working link pointing to cell "A1" of "Worksheet 1" looks like:
    'Worksheet 1'!A1
    Maybe also of interest: If you want to point the link to a worksheet inside the document itself, the parameter "address" (URL of link - href) can be left empty.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ingo

  • Link thumbnails in separate page to specific images in Easy Rotator?

    Hello.
    I have a a web page with a grid of 16 thumbnail images.
    I have a separate web page running an Easy Rotator Slideshow.
    I want to be able to click on a thumbnail and have Easy Rotator start with it's corresponding image rather than from the start.
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Thanks for your reply!
    I'm sorry, but I don't have hosting yet. I copied and pasted the code below
    from the Easy Rotator Website. I'm able to open the Rotator (on a separate
    webpage), but only from the beginning. That's as far as I've been able to
    get.
    I don't understand the following instructions (below the code).
    I can't figure out how to link thumbnails to their corresponding images in
    the rotator. I also have multiple thumbs that I need to link.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can give based on what I've been able to
    send.
    Then, to link to a specific photo in the rotator, link to that rotator's
    page using er_col in the querystring. The er_col value should be the
    zero-base numeric index of the slide. For example, if you want to link to
    the third slide (index 2) in the rotator in gallery.html, use the following
    link:
    gallery.html?er_col=2
    When the gallery.html page loads, the rotator will jump to the third slide.
    If your rotator has multiple image categories, you can link to a specific
    category via the er_row parameter. As with er_col, er_row should be the
    zero-base index of the category. Building on our previous example, let's
    suppose you want to link to the third photo in the second category. Here's
    the link you would use:
    gallery.html?er_row=1&er_col=2
    Thank you!

  • How can I open an app from an e-mail link that is associated with link.

    I get e-mails with links in them all the time (from forms, online shopping, etc).  Some of those links are for websites that have an iphone app associated with them (especially forums).  When I click on the link it tells me as much, and if I click "ok" to that dialog, it takes me to the App Store and to that specific App, where I can download it.  Even when I have that app installed, rather than taking me to that app when I click on the link, I get the dialog again telling me that there is an app associated with their website (which I already know because I have the app).  Is there any way to get these links to open in the associated App, rather than trying to open them up in the browser?

    This question has been answered before, see the page linked below:

  • Ability to link directly to a specific portion of text, not a page view or zoomed view

    Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - it is still a pdf editor according to the description Adobe has on its product description pages.
    So why is it so clunky to create a basic link to a specific sentence or paragraph?
    This feature works seamlessly in Word. Yes, in Acrobat you can link to a general page destination, and you can blow that view up to show it - but that just looks weird when the reader is suddenly confronted with zoomed in text as he or she is browsing a file I send and clicks the link I created. It breaks the reading flow.
    Some detail of what I mean:
    I send a pdf to a customer. I created it from Word. I have a header - I want to link it to a specific sentence further in the document. The customer clicks the link and suddenly his eyes pop out of his head as I have had to expand the page view with my link so that he sees it straight away. Or I choose not to expand the view and instead when he clicks the link he sees a whole page. Now he has to browse through the entire page to find what I want him to see - not very good for keeping a customer happy.
    This seems to be such a simple feature to add that I am disappointed Acrobat doesn't offer it.
    Please - whatever the nature of the beast that you developers think this product is, some features are kind of basic and important still. This is one of them and it is painful that it is still absent.
    PS: I have a feeling that this feature as I described it once existed, long ago. I used to receive help files for software and am nearly certain I was able way back then to click to specific paragraphs.

    The ISO32000 PDF standard says that a bookmark or link must point to a 'destination', which are defined by page numbers, zoom levels and x/y coordinates. They cannot refer to a position within text or other content.

  • How do I go from a link to a specific image in a slideshow?

    I have a two-part question.
    1. How do I go from a link to a specific image in a slideshow? If you take a look at the attached screenshot, here's what I'd like to accomplish. I wan to click on a link like B for examply at the top of the page. It scrolls down the page to ANCHOR "b" where I have a slide show. Once it scrolls down, I would like to have the slideshow to slide over to the image set that matches the link that was clicked. in this case, if i click on B at the top, the slideshow would slide to image set "B".
    2. Each piece of work I want to display has three images. One which is our main image seen inside the black outlined box below. There are however two additional images tied to each piece being shown. What is the best way to set this up? The default way of using the slideshow is limiting.

    Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you as I have the same problem!
    I want to link images on one page to certain slides on another.
    Have you had any luck solving this?
    I've spent hours looking for a solution... I'm very frustrated!!!
    Will post again if I get some answers.
    Best of luck
    David
    David, as of right now there is no way to click a link and have it go to a speficic image inside of a slideshow on another page. It will only show the first image in the slideshow on that other page.
    So, perhaps you could just have the image you want to jump to on the other page, be the first image in the slide show. Make sense?

  • Turn a text database search result into a clickable .pdf link to specific images

    Hello and Good Afternoon all.
    This is baffling me to no end, pretty desperate at this point.
    I have a successfully implemented a search and results page from my database table 'products'.  The results page displays a field from this table as products, msds, datasheet, description.  I would like the msds & datasheet results to be clickable links to files in my images/pdf/msds folder or the images/pdf/datasheet folder.
    The links are specific filenames such as msds-product.pdf or datasheet-product.pdf..  How can I get these links to open the exact filename that comes up in my search result?  I can make it open the entire folder but I want just the specific file.
    I don't write code very well - thank you for any help you can provide.  Cindy

    Hi Murray - Here is the exact code in DW on the results page with file names exposed in live view.  I am concerned about not properly implementing this statement - where exactly should I insert?

  • Galleries with links to YouTube

    I'm relatively new to DW and need to make a change to my site. What I want is a "gallery" for my links to my YouTube postings. I'd like it similar to what ESPN has with a large image with five thumbnails below. When one clicks the thumbnail it replaces the large image and then runs a video. I see applications, including Bridge and Juicebox, that builds a gallery but it looks like I can't make that into links to the YouTube videos, or be able to edit the size and aspect ratio of the thumbnail. I'm also not seeing were the Bridge gallery allows me to put that into my webpage (as oppsed to a stand alone page). Where can I learn how to do this?
    Many thanks.

    Ken,
    This was helpful, but in the end it doesn't really do what I want. One of the problems with YouTube video is that YouTube choses the thumbnail for us. What I'm wanting to do is use a still image of my choice which will ID what each video clip is about. ESPN home page main viewer is my goal.
    Is it possible to build a standard image gallery that links to a video?
    Thanks again.

  • Getting null returned when working with Linked Lists

    Ok, i'm having the same problem with a couple of methods that deal with linked lists, and i was hoping someone could lend me a hand. First off, the specifications for one of the methods:
    An iterative procedure smallElements
    PARAMETERS: a ListItem reference, ls
    an integer n
    RETURN VALUE: a new list identical to the given list, except
    that it contains no occurrences of numbers greater than n.
    for example, given input list ( 3 2 6 3 4 ) and 3,
    the return value would be the list ( 3 2 3 )
    And here is my code:
    ListItem smallElements(ListItem ls, int n){
    ListItem small = null;
    ListItem result = small;
    if(ls == null)
    return null;
    else{
    while(ls!=null){
         if(ls.number <=n){
         result = new ListItem(ls.number, null );
         result = result.next;
         ls = ls.next;
    return small;
    Like the topic says, i keep getting null returned as a value. I have tried setting small= new ListItem(ls.number, null), and that actually returns the correct list, except that the first number is repeated twice. I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

    I am not sure I understand your code. What exactly are those ListItems? It seems to me that you are dealing with single List elements, while the specification says that you are supposed to return a List.
    But the main error is that you have two ListItem objects there, which seems to fill the same purpose - only that you use one, and return the other. 'small', which is the one you return, never get set to anything else than null.
    I think you should do something like this: make a new, empty list to return
    for element in parameterlist
        if number is smaller than n
            add this element to returnlist
    return returnlist

  • LR Web flash gallery mulitiple pages, links

    Any way to edit a flash gallery to link to other galleries? I want to be able add links to the pages. Other than adding an iframe, I'd rather add links to the pages them selves. Thanks

    I'm getting the same thing. The transition has a little "pop" right at the end before moving on to the next slide but doesn't happen with all slides. All my images are on an external drive that is served wirelessly to my computer.
    You can see an example at this address. http://vimeo.com/15554651
    Not sure what Slideshow Pro is but will check it out.
