Gallery Force Stop

DROID RAZR PROBLEMS!
When I try to edit a picture in my gallery in any way the gallery app freezes up and then the screen returns back to viewing my gallery. I went into Verizon and had told them my phone had been funny lately (but the gallery had been fine at that point) and they told me to do a factory default reset...which I did. And it hasn't made a difference. I also have been having issues with my alarms not going off. And all of these apps are default apps from the phone. I don't understand why there would be performance issues with them.

Quit System Preferences if it's running. In the Finder, hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following item, if it exists:
Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
and move the following item to the Desktop:
Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Launch System Preferences and test. If you still have the issue, put the item on the Desktop back where it came from and post again. Otherwise, delete the item.

Turn off Google Voice detection for Google now. That breaks a lot of cameras surprisingly.

WLST - force stop application

Hello Experts!
I am writing WLST script where I need to stop some deployed application. I use "stopApplication" command:
stopApplication(applicationName, gracefulProductionToAdmin="true", gracefulIgnoreSessions="true")But it takes about 5 minutes to stop application this way. When I stop application through Administration Console (force stop actually) it takes about 5 seconds to stop application.
Is there any way to force stop application through WLST script?

Maybe you could try the timeout option:
timeout—Time (in milliseconds) that WLST waits for the deployment process to complete before canceling the operation. A value of 0 indicates that the operation will not time out. This argument defaults to 300,000 ms (or 5 minutes).

Camera - Gallery has stopped,after reseting no cam...

In my Nokia x2, whenever I tap camera it says ''Gallery has stopped'' and closes. after reseting the device there is no app named ''camera'', also tried hard reset & nokia software recovery tool for reinstalling software, but theres no change.

Hi, Hridoi. When did this issue start? Did you successfully restore the phone's software? If you've done with all the possible troubleshooting procedures, I'd suggest taking your phone to our care center to have it fixed. This is a known issue. From an initial investigation it may be an issue with Android L itself.

Force-Stopping Apps

Just a general question to those who know how the OS works:
How safe is it to continuously force-stop an application while trying to deal with a problem?
I have been trying to fix this Album issue and, in order to do that, I have tried multiple solutions posted online, almost all of which include stopping Media Storage and clearing its data. With it being a system app, how sure can I be that I can keep killing it as many times as I need without damaging something essential?
The question can be extended to other apps, as well.
How safe is it to randomly kill apps and erase their data? May it have long-term consequences for the performance of the device?

I got concerned because I was repeating the same cycle of actions several times, ending up force-stoppng Media Storage 5 or 6 times. I sincerely hope it's not going to do any damage...

Question about Force stop...

Hi. When I go to Settings/Applications/Manage Apps/Running and select Force stop for some apps, then come back later, many of the apps are still showing under the Running tab. Am I missing the concept of Force stop? Why does an app start running again in the background after I've stopped it? Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with my phone?
I know, a lot of questions...

Unable to refresh database after forced stop of the business rule

I am currently testing and tuning performance of business rules in Hyperion Planning 9.3.1. I launched a business rule in EAS Console that was running way too long so I decided to stop it manually. But after this manual stop when I try to refersh Essbase from Hyperion Planning (Administration>Manage Database>Database Refresh) I get the following error:

I remember having done forced business rule stops earlier in other Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 deployments and they did not generate such errors. So could you help me on how I prevent Hyperion Planning from this error after manual business rule stops because most likely I will have to do them in the future? Thanks very much!

John, you are right. I erred earlier: I was thinking that I had stopped the business rule, but it still was running. I had not seen this rule running because of lack of permissions for my user name. After adding extra Essbase permissions to my user name in HSS, I was able to see in EAS Console in Ediit>Sessions window that the rule was still running and Hyperion Planning definitely will produce the above error message if one tries to refresh Essbase cube while the rule is still running.

Fsck.mode=force stopped working

I'm running linux-3.11.1-1-ARCH x86_64 fully updated. A recent systemd update advised to change the mkinitcpio setup. My hooks now look like this
HOOKS="base systemd autodetect modconf block filesystems keyboard fsck resume"
I've run mkinitcpio.conf and rebooted OK. However, I cannot now force fsck to run using a kernel parameter ie fsck.mode=force doesn't cause fsck to run.
I believe that even the normal fsck checking has stopped as dumpe2fs /dev/sda1 now shows
Mount count: 8
Maximum mount count: 5
How do I get the normal fsck checking to work?

The current "default" configuration I believe is to have rw in the kernel line and the fsck behaviour is defined in /etc/fstab, see the wiki.

I can't get MobileMe Gallery to stop trying to move pictures from it to Aperture. I never posted pictures to MobileMe Gallery. HELP

Aperture will move albums you have published to Mobile Me Gallery into the Albums section of your library to preserve them.
If I chose OK it will say aperture is moving mobile me gallery and it takes forever but I've never posted pictures to that gallery.

If you migrated from MobileMe to iCloud your Addressbook will now be synced with iCloud and not with MobileMe.
Make sure, the AppleID you are using with iCloud is the same you when upgrading from MobileMe to iCloud. Your iCloud account has to be enabled in the Addressbook and your contacts should appear in the iCloud accounts section.

(force ) stop an applescript

I wrote an applescript. The content is
set myWord to the clipboard
say myWord using "Julie Infovox iVox HQ"
I also use QuickSilver to set "Ctrl+S" as the hotkey to run this script.
But sometimes I want to stop it saying the phrase. I don't know how to do.
Even in the script editor.app, I can't stop the script when it's running (i.e, it's saying the pharses)
I really hope someone can help to this issue...

Thank, it works if I run this script in script edit.app.
But the questions is, I use quicksilver to set hotkeys for these scripts and run them by
using the hotkeys. In this case, I can't use command+period key to stop saying.
So is there anyway to set hotkeys for applescripts without using quicksilver ??
Or anyway to stop those running scripts which are called by quicksilver ??

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If those don't work - sign out of your account - Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and then go back to Settings>Store and sign in again.

Opmnctl: graceful stop of processes failed, trying forceful shutdown...

I have installed BI for my billing system on HP-UX 11i , with application server 10.1.2.0.2.
Last thursday we suffered from sudden power failure and all our servers went off.
After rebooting everything, opmnctl wasnt starting, so after further digging it turned out that the problem was with the dcm.conf file and quickly found it was cleared and had a 0 byte size. So, I copied the .bak file to the original name.
After that, all the services start gracefully apart from the HTTP Server which doesnt.
The logs are pasted below:-

There isn't a direct way to avoid OPMN having to try graceful stop first and directly go for force stop. But what you can do though is reduce the amount of time it waits for graceful stop request to finish (the timeout). For that you can change (reduce) the value of "timeout" attribute of <stop> element for the component in your $ORACLE_HOME\opmn\config\opmn.xml file. Refer this for details:

You can set the timeout to a very low value.
But keep in mind you should only do it when you understand the side effects of force/kill stop approach. Following explains the difference b/w graceful and forceful shutdown of Apache (same is applicable to OHS as OPMN under the cover uses apachectl to stop OHS):
