Gallery's UN/PW not recognized by AppleTV

I uploaded a gallery to MobileMe via iPhoto and password protected it as well. It is accessible via Safari on my iMac so I know the UN/PW combo is valid.
But when I go into my AppleTV and access the gallery via MobileMe there, the UN/PW doesn't let me view it. It says its invalid.
I've entered it numerous times and I've gone back to Safari to make sure it still worked.
Why can't I access a protected gallery via MobileMe in AppleTV?

Reader Gerrie E. Cooper has a stash of old floppies that contain fonts from Adobe, Agfa, and other companies. It’s bad enough that the fonts are stored on this prehistoric media, but said media is of the 800KB variety. He wonders what course to take.
I’m afraid that the answer is to find an old Mac (an SE on up to a beige Power Mac G3 will do the trick), insert the floppies into that Mac’s drive, create disk images of the floppies, and then copy the images to the current Mac. Third-party USB floppy drives support 1.4MB HD floppies but not double-density 800KB disks.

MetaX rating tags not recognized by appleTV

i used metaX to add meta data some movies... all the info (actors, directors, chapter names etc) and the rating show up in iTunes and in FrontRow. but only some of the info appears on appleTV.
parental controls which are based on ratings don't seem be recognized by the appleTV... i set the parental controls to ask for a password for anything over a G rating, but R rated movies were not recognized and no password was asked for.. the movie just played. i have one iTunes purchased movie that is an 18A that gets screened properly and a password is asked for when it it clicked on.
has anyone had any luck with getting parental controls to work properly with rating added with metaX.

looks like the ratings tag is made up of different elements as you suggest...
in frontRow the metaX tagged ratings display beside the title name when you scroll over a movie and wait... along with all the other stuff... artwork, title, actors, producer etc... and in iTunes
but for iTunes music store purchased movies, iTunes 8.0 displays the rating beside the name in the movies list but frontRow does NOT display the rating as it did for the metaX tagged movie
so there is more than one element that make the rating appear...

MobileMe account not recognized on AppleTv.

Hi All Expert's.
I have just received my new AppleTv, but when I try to log into my MobileMe account, I get the message, that my account is not recognized! How can that be? My account is very much in function (and paid for), so why does my AppleTv not recognize my MobileMe account?

I just got AppleTV and plugged it from the HDMI to the my reciever then from the reciever to the TV. The TV did not recognize it. Then I went directly from the AppleTV to the TV. Still not being recognized. It simply does nothing. I need help...

Of course you have plugged your Apple TV into the mains so I suspect that you need to select the input on your TV's remote control. Mine has a button marked AV. Press the button (AV) and cycle through the options, then your Appe TV will show on your telly - as long as it's little light is on.
With regard to your receiver, I would think that it is simply an issue of selecting the correct input on that.
Also, sometimes, TV's are a little slow at recognising a new signal.

MobileMe username not recognized by AppleTV

I have an AppleTV with Software 4.3(2557). I have tried to add my MobileMe account, but my username is not being recognized. I have tried both the username itself and the [email protected] exactly as it appears when I sign onto me.com from my computer, neither is accepted. I do have a Public folder that is not password protected. Any idea why AppleTV can't find my account?

For the avoidance of doubt you need to enter the username without the @me.com
Do you use anything other than alphanumerical characters in either the username or password.
You also need to have published public galleries for mobile me to work with the Apple TV.

AppleTV not recognized by TV

When I connect my new Apple TV to my Hitachi TV (about 5 years old) it is not recognized on any input. I have tried 3 different HDMI input ports with nothing coming up except a black screen. I took the AppleTV unit back to Best Buy to see if the unit or cables were OK and they tested fine. Other things work fine when connected to the same terminals (e.g. the PVR, Chromecast) .. Any ideas??

The TV specs 1080/720 on all three HDMI ports. This seems to match what AppleTV says it outputs.
I am not sure how to change either.

My AppleTV stopped working after power outage. Light is on and I rebooted and reset w remote but it keeps giving me a pic of the Hdmi cord like it is not recognizing the hdmi as being plugged in. I've unplugged it several times.

It is in recovery mode. The picture is telling you to connect to iTunes via micro usb cable in order to restore.

AppleTV - Video Format Not Recognized

I know this question is out there, but I can't find the answer that helps. I have one of the Apple TVs that you sync to, not stream, and I've downloaded a bunch of digital workouts that I purchased online. I've never had a problem playing them before and now I'm getting the message that the format is not recognized on some of them. They're all the very same format (Mpeg-4). I've tried rebooting, resyncing, deleting them and adding them again.... I just don't get it! All of my software is up-to-date too.
It's REALLY ticking me off! These workouts weren't cheap, so I'm quite displeased that I can't use them.

Some data DVD's and External Hard Drives not recognized by Leopard only.

1] Some data DVDs that were burned under Tiger do not show up in Leopard. Only a dialog box asking what I want to do with the blank DVD comes up when I insert the disk. On my Tiger computer, the disk shows up perfectly fine. It is a DVD+R being used on a MBP 2ghz... and was burned on that very machine in Tiger and would load fine in Tiger. Now nothing on the same computer in Leopard. I'm going to reburn the disk on my Mac Mini on a DVD-R, but still wanted to know any ideas or input as to why it won't recognize the disk.
2] I also have an external USB2.0 HD. I formatted the disk using my G4 Mac Mini (which has Tiger) and it is not recognized on my MBP. In Disk Utility I try to reformat the drive, but it says that it cannot do so because the "resource is busy". I plug the drive back into the mac mini and it works perfectly fine. Why would this be and how do I correct it?
Full updates on both OS's. No other problems with either computer that I know of.

Unfortunately, commercial DVDs that you have bought 99.9% of the time will be copy protected and Apple's forum terms prohibit discussion of circumventing the copy protection. In various places circumventing digital copy protection is potentially illegal even if you own and intend to keep the DVD. Hence Apple do not wish DVD rippers etc discussed here.
Another problem is that AppleTv cannot play back DVDs copied to an external drive as it does not understand the format. So even if you can 'copy' your DVDs you then need to convert to h264 format to play on AppleTV.
Video formats for AppleTv are limited. They also do not support DVD like menu structures (thogh AppleTV 1 did with itunes Extras movies).
If you have unprotected video you wish to convert eg home video on DVD, then something like Handbrake or MPEGStreamclip with Apple's MPEG2 component might do the job. These programs are not DVD rippers but can process unprotected MPEG2 video.

yeh me too. Everything seems to be working with my Thomson TG782T modem, it recognises the appletv on the wireless network, I can communicate with my itunes on my computer from the appletv menu system, my itunes library comes up on the appletv menu, but when trying to rent a movie it says that my password is not being recognised. Yet I can buy books from the itunes store using the same password from my ipad. I am at complete loss...my telecommunications company (Telstra) has no idea.
Do you think these little checks and changes to my password will help?

Web Gallery created in Aperture not listed

I created three new web galleries using Aperture 2 and they are not showing up when I try to add them to my iweb page. When I log on to my .mac account they are only visible when I choose my gallery. They are not listed out with the ones I created in iPhoto. What am I doing wrong?

I've asked this question ever since the option was offered.
Know of no one that has had it work and have never seen an answer.
Sent feedback to Apple. No reply.
Called tech support. They had no idea.
You see the file on the Idisk, but they are not recognized by Iweb.
Would love to know the answer.

Ally device not recognized

I am trying to connect my Ally to my pc running on vista using usb. I was able to do this in the past. Something happened and now when I plug my phone in it says the device is not recognized. I have downloaded the drivers that I could find but it still is not recognized. What am I doing wrong?

Hi michael9000! The Ally's ability to sync with a PC is limited to USB storage mode, which allows you to transfer supported files only. If you're connecting it for that purpose, please follow these instructions:
1. Use the USB cable that came with your phone to connectthe phone to a USB port on your computer.
2. Open the Notifications panel then touch USB connected.
3. Touch Mount in the dialog box that opens to confirm thatyou want to transfer files.
When the phone is connected as USB storage, you receive a notification.
You phone's microSD card is mounted as a removabledrive on your computer. You can now copy files to andfrom the microSD card. For more information, see thedocumentation for your computer.
During this time, you will not be able to access themicroSD card in your phone, so you can't use applicationsthat rely on the microSD card, such as Camera, Gallery,and Music.

USB Device for IPOD not recognized by Windows, whether ipod connected or no

During the past few days I have received a pop up error message from (I would think) Windows that the USB device is not recognized. I have the USB plug for the ipod connected (as always)but the ipod isn't even connected. It keeps popping up like every few seconds that the usb device is not recognized.
When I attach the ipod itself, the ipod is recognizing it because it powers up. But, it took 10 times just to get the ipod to recognize through itunes. It updated, then immediately upon completion, windows again starting giving repeated error messages that the usb device wasn't recognized.
I have downloaded the newest itunes but I had it on my system for 4 days with no problems whatsoever. I don't think that's it. No other system changes.
I've deleted my temp files and cache. Also did a "disk clean up" and "defrag." It's still doing it.
Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Ever since I upgraded to version 7, iTunes & my PC no longer recognise my iPod, and it therefore won't sync.
It's not the USB port (other devices work in it), I rebooted my iPod and re-installed iTunes, I've tried stopping and starting the iPod Service (but can't see my iPod in My Computer). When I run the Diagnostics it says iPod connection failed. I've even bought a new USB cable but that doesn't work either.
This is driving me up the wall. Is there a glitch with iTunes 7?

Aio Remote: PDFs not recognized by Google drive.

Aio Remote on iPad Air2 iOS 8.1.1 - I created a PDF on my iPad from my HP Envy 7640 using Aio remote app. In the files/document section it's there (3 pages) as a PDF. But when I upload a copy from Aio Remote to Google Drive it's not recognized by Google Drive as a PDF even though it has a PDF extention. I have other PDF files stored in Google drive that are perfectly fine. It must be something in your app that is the problem.

More info: if I send it from Aio remote as an email attachment to myself I get a PDF that I can upload to Google drive and Google drive reconizes it as a PDF. again proving it is Aio remote that is doing some thing wrong when uploading to Google Drive.
