Gallery slideshow

I am trying to make a photo slide show. I have 30 small
thumbnails and I want to display 10 at a time through a small
strip.
I then want a forward and back button to move the timeline
forward and back
Any help pls

You can't change the look of the thumbnail in the embedded gallery widget. You can certainly try to use you're own HTML widget but the gallery effect will not be the same since it will only be in full-screen mode once the user taps on the widget image as opposed to having the ability to swipe through the widget right in the book. If that's fine with you, I recommend two sources: Get a widget using JS/HTML code from a place like Code Canyon, or if you don't want to mess with coding, you can use bookry or bookwiddgets.

  • Photo gallery / slideshow component using rss

hi.. i was wondering if anyone can throw some light on this
issue. i am thinking abt making a simple flash gallery / slideshow
that will get info from an rss feed (either from flickr or a
customized Gallery2.0 feed). there is already one at
www.afcomponents.com, but their support is slow and the product
    layout is not customizable.
so, does anyone know if another such component? or even
better, a script that i can work on myself? any thoughts, comments
and ideas will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks in advance,

    Hello lukeage7,
I've done a bunch of similar galleries. Are you familiar with
    xml in Flash
at all? The easiest way is to create an empty movie symbol on
    your stage
and give it an instance name (placeHolder) for example.
    Create an xml file
with a list of your image names, and then use loadMovie to
    load the first
node's image into your placeHolder movie symbol. Then all you
    need to do
is create a var you can increment to load the 2nd image, 3rd
    image, 4th image
etc. I can send you a sample if you want.
That said, I've also used this product and for the low price
    it is pretty
    robust:

  • Can an Adobe Bridge web gallery slideshow file be inserted in Dreamweaver as part of the homepage?

Hello.  I am designing the homepage of my first website in Adobe Dreamweaver CS6.  And I would like for the page to include a slideshow that automatically plays as soon as a visitor opens the webpage.  I am interested in using Adobe Bridge to create the slideshow using the feature "web gallery."  The tutorials that I've seen describe how to create the web gallery slideshow, then show how it appears when uploaded to the web as an html file through FTP to a server.  It appears as a separate page.  And I notice that the web gallery file is an index file.  I would appreciate knowing how to include the html file as part of the homepage.  Will simply renaming the file from being "index.html" to something like "my_first_slideshow.html" make possible including it in the site structure?  Or will doing so cause it and the files attached to it to be inaccessable when viewed in a browser?  If it can be included in the site, is an <iframe> needed to be in the code for the slideshow to fit into?  Thank you.

Maybe you best try this question in the dedicated Dreamweaver forum?:

  • Image gallery/slideshow

    Hi,
i want an slideshow/gallery for my site,
the perfect one is at http://uk.msn.com/
it's the first thing you see when you get there.
I've looked around and can't find a tutorial for it anywhere,
Does anyone know how this is made
or can give me a link to a tutorial?
    Thanx

MSN is probably using something proprietary.  Below you'll find some free slideshow and image gallery solutions that might work for you.

  • Gallery/slideshow widget with no yellow border around thumbnails?

    Hi,
Does anyone know of a hack to get rid of the yellow border around Gallery thumbnails? Or, do you know of a third-party Gallery/Slideshow widget that has a cleaner look: thumbnails but no garish border?
    Thanks!

  • Autoplay for Bridge Web Gallery Slideshows

    Hi all,
I feel like I've searched the entire internet looking for an answer to this question. Does anyone know how to set the Bridge CS4 Web Gallery Slideshows to start playing as soon as loaded?
I've dug around in all the output files and can't find an autoplay function anywhere. This seems like it should be a built in option for the gallery output.
Any help or suggestions would be VERY appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • How to Resize Web Gallery Slideshow

I uploaded some photos of my wifes Xmas party
    http://gallery.mac.com/kjritchie#100068&bgcolor=black
I elected just to allow viewing, no downloading. My understanding is each photo upload is 800x600. How do I prevent Web Gallery slideshow displaying these photos in full screen mode? 800x600 expanded to fill a 20" monitor looks bad.
    Kelvin

    Kelvin:
You can't. The software that generates the gallery and slideshow is server side and there are no files to edit to change the size. I suppose you could mount the iDisk, locate the gallery folder in the Web/Sites/_gallery folder and replace the 800 x 600 file with a full sized version. However, each photo has it's own folder and several different image files and they are not the same file name as what you have in the iPhoto library. The file used for the slideshow is named web.jpg. So you'll have to rename each file web.jpg and put it in the folder for that photo.
    Happy Holidays
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How do I add a lightroom gallery/slideshow to my BC site?

I've tried to "publish" my slideshow gallery to first my blogger to no avail and now to my BC site that I have created.  Why aren't any of these Adobe apps compatible or able to integrate/communicate with one another?  I refuse to believe that there is not a way...there has to be!

  • Photo Gallery Slideshow

I’m currently looking into updating our company
website. It was originally built in FrontPage and is just a basic
    frames site.
The guy who built it used a function in FrontPage called
Photo Gallery and used the slideshow option to create the following
    images on the page:
    http://www.bluchip.gg/bc403.htm
I would like to do a similar thing in Dreamweaver but I'm
going to need it to be really really easy so the other guy can do
    it.
The FrontPage Photo Gallery was very simple in that all you
had to do was add the images you wanted and it would resize them
all to your spec and then create the slideshow.
Is there anything in Dreamweaver (CS3) that does the same or
    maybe an add-on?
Any help would be gratefully received.

    > Is there anything in Dreamweaver (CS3) that does the
    same
Not really. Do you have Fireworks as well?
    > or maybe an add-on?
I have used the ImageGalleryMagic extension from PVII - it's
    mighty
    simple....

  • Photo gallery slideshow can't be found. Why?!

I have uploaded a photo gallery to my .mac iDisk, but when I visit the page [and click on a photo] I get an Apple error saying:
We're sorry but we can't find the iWeb page you've requested. It's possible that:
·The address was entered incorrectly. Check your spelling and try again.
·The .Mac member of this name has either created a page and removed it or has never published an iWeb site.
·There is no .Mac member of this name. If you'd like this member name for yourself, sign up for a .Mac account right now and have your own iWeb site in minutes.
I have checked the folder containg the webpage in iDisk and all the photos are there (thumbnails and full-size photos) and the slideshow_assets folder is also there... So why won't it display?
If you want to have a look and tell me what you think here is the link:

    Thanks, Lee.

    Thanks QT-K.
I have added the Slideshow button to the page and positioned it at the bottom (as I didn't want it on the page), and I have uploaded to iDisk.
However when I take my browser to the page I get the same error!
These changes should take immediately, right?
Oh, and I emptied Camino's cache before I revisted as well.
    Hmmm...

  • Can anyone suggest a stripped down photo gallery / slideshow?

I'm creating an iWeb site and want to show 3-5 images on each project page in a photo gallery. The site design is very minimal, with any unnecessary parts removed.
The iWeb photo page is fine except that I can't change the font and two sets of previous/next scrollers appear (one at top and bottom of photos).
I literally want a photo with two arrows below to scroll to the next one.  No thumbnails, no descriptions, download options etc.
I think this is pretty much what I'm after...http://nordarchitecture.com/projects/shingle-house-dungeness/
Any suggestions would be very welome.
    Cheers

  • Web Gallery - Slideshow(s)

I have created my first web gallery - These are my issues when viewing the gallery on internet:
    1. If you double click the first photo you see a rather small pic and a description of what the subject is about (hitting i [info] can give you the further info on the pic). Why is the photo not the same size as that shown when I select to view the gallery in slideshow?
    2. When in a gallery if you click "Slideshow" it proceeds through the photos in the gallery at about 3 second intervals - how can I adjust the slideshow controls so that the turnover is slower, like 12 second intervals? I understand that a viewer can click "pause" to slow the process, but see 3 below.
    3. When I review the gallery on my Powerbook, using Safari, as a slideshow, above the slide the description/explanation of what the pic is about is displayed. When I enter the website via Windows, I see the pic OK but there is no description of what it is about. How do you show the explanation of what the pic is about in Windows?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Vicj:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. 1 - it's just the nature of the beast and can't be changed. 2 - the software that controls web galleries is server side and there's no features changeable by the user except those in iPhoto while creating the gallery.
If you want to add a description to the picture that will be displayed change the title to the description you want to use. An easy way to do that is to first add your descriptions to the description field in iPhoto. Then use this Applescript to copy the description to the Title field: AppleScript to copy iPhoto Description to Title. Be sure to read the comments regarding the one error in the script that is easily corrected.
Later you can change the titles back to the file name (if that was what they were originally, by using the Photos->Batch Change menu option.
