GameCenter Account on Ipod Touch 4G after iOS5 update

Hi iGuys.
I have two separate gamecenter accounts tied under one (1) apple id. One is for my daughter (ipod) and the other is for my son (ipad).
Previously, there is no problem logging in in gamecenter - even simultaneously.
I have just updated my 4th gen ipod touch to iOS5. When I started the smurfs' village game, the game center account reflected in the ipod touch
is the game center account for ipad. As a result, the game started back from scratch!
How can I choose the correct username for the ipod touch? It only asks for the apple id password.
Please help. Thanks in advance!

I have already corrected this.
Instead of the email address in the username, we should change that to the gamecenter username instead.
It worked! Thanks!

  • IPod on iPhone after ios5 update

After update iPod works when it feels like it. Play button will show as on but no sound or movement of time bar. Also will say playing one song  ur is actually playing something different. Will skip songs for no reason as well.

My iphone 4 calendar entries disappeared after upgrading to ios5. I searched and read and tried the various thing that worked for others (delete icloud from iphone, add it back in, restore from backup etc).
    None of it worked.
To recover the data here's what has worked for me:
1 Grab the iphone backup file from the backup in iTunes just before upgrading. Copy it out to a temp folder.
    2. Grab an iTunes backup extractor. (google it, adding the word supercrazyawesome - thats the one I tried and it worked for me just fine).
    3. Feed the backup file to the extractor and pull the item named iOS near the bottom of the list that appears in the extractor to a new folder.
    4. Inside the extracted bunch of files/folders, locate Library/Calendar - there is an sqlite database file inside that folder named Calendar.sqldb. That is where all your calendar data is.
    5. Use an SQLite database reader (google it - there's free one available, the first one I tried worked for me). Feed it the Calendar.sqldb file.
    6. In the Calendar database, choose the item named "Events" - that's your calendar appointments and notes.
    7. Export as CSV.
    8. Read the CSV into Excel or another spreadsheet to reconstruct your calendar.
    9. Last hurdle: to convert the numeric value for dates into date format, use the Excel formula: =”1/1/2001″ + CELL/60/60/24 + OFFSET/24  where F1 is the cell which has date value in spreadsheet and OFFSET is the timezone offset from UTC (7 for California as of 10/16/2011).
    Hope this helps.

  • IPod Touch frozen after firmware update

    Hi,
I have a problem with my iPod Touch (3rd gen).  I am running iTunes on 64-bit Windows 7.
I plugged in my iPod into my PC and iTunes offered an upgrade to iOS 4.3.3.  I accepted as I do routinely; I'm pretty sure
I was running whatever was the latest version previous to this update.
A few minutes later my iPod's screen showed the picture of a cable plugging into iTunes.  The iTunes screen showed a message:
"iTunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode.  You must restore this ipod before it can be used with iTunes."
I selected "Restore" and iTunes displayed a message that it was "Restoring iPod software".
The iPod screen showed the Apple logo and a status bar underneath which seemed to indicate that it was being restored.
It then did "verifying ipod software" and "verifying ipod restore" and finally "restoring ipod firmware".
However, when the process finishes, and after flashing the Apple logo again, the iPod still reverts to the picture of a cable
plugging into iTunes.  For its part, iTunes goes back to the original message:
"iTunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode.  You must restore this ipod before it can be used with iTunes."
I checked that I have the latest version of iTunes (10.2.2.14), and even went to the Apple website and downloaded it to be sure.
As far as I can see the iPod is going into recovery mode (the link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 suggests that this is
achieved when you get the picture of the USB cable plugging into iTunes, which is pretty much all that my iPod displays now).
It's just that the restores do not seem to be taking.
I also tried running the file iPod3,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.ipsw which was suggested in a response to a similar problem.
This did not appear to do anything other than start iTunes at the point where it asked me to restore.
Can anyone please suggest a solution such that I may be able to use my iPod again?
Thank you for any help or ideas.

Thank you samuelfromwilmette I think you are right.
To finish the story: I took my iPod to a Genius bar and they were able to re-set it.  I then recovered from a back up but noticed that some of my apps did not recover correctly.  I carried on for a few more weeks and then it simply stopped working.  The iPod would no longer receive transfer files from iTunes, it would not update any of the apps and then a few days later I got the screen of death problem.
Fortunately I still have a netbook running Windows XP.  I set up iTunes on it and was able to restore the iPod.  I now simply use the Windows XP netbook as the computer with which I sync my iPod.  It is not a great solution, because I would rather use my desktop, which is where I have my photos etc.  I am forced to use an external hard drive to move files over.  I have been operating like this for over 6 weeks and it all seems to be holding together!
I think I have learnt two things:
    1) Regardless of what they say, my iPod Touch 3rd gen. / iTunes is not really compatible with Windows 7 64-bit.  The fact is that it works perfectly with my Windows XP computer but not with the newer operating system.
    2) I do not really need to update the firmware every time a new one comes out, and I do not need to sync my iPod every day!
    Thanks again for the advice.

  • Unable to turn off iPod touch 3 after IOS5 applied

    Hi All,
after I applied IOS5 my itunes started to sync my songs. At the same time some apps were updated and now my iPod hangs. I am unable to reboot the device, holding the power on switch (the button above) will not show the red bar for shutdown.
    Any idears?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

It's called a reset. Always a useful thing to know about!
Though personally I never bother actually turning mine off, I use it so frequently that it is silly, plus it takes more battery to turn it on and off than it does just to put it into sleep mode.

  • How do I get my video playlists back on iPod Touch 4G after (epic fail) iOS6 update

As other users have identified, playlists present on iTunes on laptop but not on iPod touch 4G after iOS6 update except when select edit. Can I get them back? Not wasting time messing around. Either this is easily sortable or I get a new player from another maunfacturer - seems Apple can't be bothered to sort these issues so not sure I can be bothered with Apple anymore.

i had a problem simular after doing an update on itunes, I re-set=up the itunes according to my os and its working fine

  • I upgraded to ios6 on ipod touch and after I completed a sync on my PC but I suppose it did not sync, because now it will not restore from a back up and wants to restore from another account that I have saved.  Can I some how restore from the apps?

I upgraded to ios6.1.3 on ipod touch and after I completed a sync on my PC but I suppose it did not sync, because now it will not restore from a back up and wants to restore from another account that I have saved.  Can I some how restore the apps to avoid having to pay for them again and having to recreate settings?

As I said, the backup that iTunes makes does not include apps (and music) if those items where not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you restored they will not be on the iPod.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Ok, when I go into my Apple ID account, everything looks right.  It does show my user name.  It's only on the iPod that it shows my husband's previous user name, and it asks for his password.  Everything in iTunes and my account looks right.  The issue only seems to be with the actual device, iPod Touch 4th gen.
There is more than one way to access the Apps Store and the iTunes store.  One is via iTunes on your computer, and the other is via the apps on your iPod.
Just because you are logged in on your computer does not mean you are logged in on your iPod.
The reason your husband's user name comes up is because he was the last one to log on.  You can change that by going to Settings>Store.  Tap the Apple ID, Tap Sign Out, Tap Sign In, Tap Use Existing Appel ID, enter your e-mail address and Apple ID password, and tap OK.

On the iOS array of devices, you need to make sure all of the settings are right. I have found an official Verizon webpage for setting it up on Apple devices right here:

  • Help: I have recently downloaded the newest software version for apple products. I have a iPod touch. After the process of updating my software, my photo app doesn't work anymore.

Help: I have recently downloaded the newest software version for apple products. I have a iPod touch. After the process of updating my software, my photo app doesn't work anymore. I can't take pictures or view them at all. Every time I try opening the app it kicks me out of it and sends me to the home screen. I have tried turning off my iPod and back on multiple times. Even double tapping the home screen button and closing my opened apps. And I tried looking for the photo app in the app store but I did not see it. So I am wondering what can I do? And is this due to the new software update? Does anyone else have this problem?

No, I have not tried any backup tools. I havent restored my ipod back to factory settings yet and then sync everything back on it. I am kind of scared too because I dont want to lose anything. I have just been hoping some new apple software update will come out because I know several people have had problems when updating to the newest version available.

  • Delete email account on iPod touch

How do I delete an email account on my iPod touch? The email account is with my ISP.
Thanks in advance for your help and support
    Leigh

From Chapter 18 of the iPod Touch Users Guide:
Delete an account from iPod touch: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars,” choose an account, then scroll down and tap Delete Account.
Deleting an account means you can no longer access the account with your iPod touch. All email and the contacts, calendar, and bookmark information synced with the account are removed from iPod touch. However, deleting an account doesn’t remove the account or its associated information from your computer.
