Gamecenter server to device issues?

After getting a new iPod touch and restoring the entire thing (every app, picture, video, setting, contact, etc.), some of my gamecenter games (Zombie Highway being one of them) resetting me to no progress. After checking gamecenter, I still have every achievement and statistic stored up on the servers, but it won't transfer to my iPod. Any help would be appreciated.

You wouldn't believe it, but the delays were caused by the users having an excessive amount of emails in their inbox. Blackberry says they really only support up to 5000 emails in the users inbox (depending on type of environment) and this particular user had more. I had the individual clean out their inbox then messages started showing up reliably.

One day, they may get a few emails (seems consistent across all users with different carriers) then not get anymore until a few days later and a 20-30 will dump on the device at once. Is there any fine tuning or logs I can look at for these outgoing imap connections? All users can send no issues at all, just getting a consistent flow of incoming messages from our groupwise server would be nice.
A little more info. we do have a nat rule in the firewall to pass any traffic hitting our imap dns addres to go straight to our groupwise system and do have a rule defined for port 143 traffic.
Thanks in advance for any advice

  • DNS Server Having Intermittent Issues with Open Directory

I work for a school and we're undertaking the large task of moving from Xserves running 10.6.8 to Mac Minis running 10.9. I have a lot of experience with OS X Server (I held ACSA up until they ditched it, and ACTC through the current OS) but I've hit a fairly large snag in configuring our DNS server. We currently run DNS via an AD server that is being retired at the end of the summer, so this is the first time our DNS will be Mac-based. That said, our network is ridiculously simple as we are a very small school. For the most part it's a flat network using the same IP range for our wired and wireless internal clients (we do have a vlan for guests but that's through Aerohive). I configured the DNS by hand, recreating the entries in our AD server (there were only about a dozen) and then adding in things that should have been there in the first place (e.g. printers and some other devices with static IPs that I'd like FQDNs for). Everything seemed to be working fine...until trying to log into Open Directory accounts.
For some background, the DNS server running 10.9 was the first server we upgraded and it was a completely clean install. We run DHCP on another Mac Server currently running 10.6.8 and it does have the proper OD server listed. All DNS entries for the OD server match our current DNS server. The issue is that it's taking some users 5-6 tries to log in with their network accounts. The errors they receive range from the login window shaking to it stating the user cannot log in at this time. This seems to be worse on client machines running 10.9. but it's appearing on machines running 10.6.8-10.9.3.
In my troubleshooting, I found that if I log in as a local user to one of those machines and do a dig for the OD server the results vary, this is where it gets weird. For example, if I dig ourodserver.ourdomain.org it will sometimes return host not found or it will sometimes resolve. If I ping the same thing it will sometimes work (even after stating it cannot resolve the host) and it will sometimes fail. If I then try a dig for the .local (e.g. ourodserver.local) it also yields the same varied results. However, on every machine that I've tested if I then open a Finder window and navigate to the server via the "Shared" menu and connect I have no trouble connecting and then magically my digs and pings in terminal work. If I revert DNS back to point to our old Windows server the issue goes away. I have meticulously combed through that server many many times now and am not seeing any missed entries. Any idea what could be causing this?

You must have a working DNS service, and the server's hostname must match its fully-qualified domain name. To confirm, select the server by name in the sidebar of the Server application window, then select the Overview tab. Click the Edit button on the Host Name line. On the Accessing your Server sheet, Domain Name should be selected. Change the Host Name, if necessary. The server must have at least a three-level name (e.g. "server.yourdomain.com"), and the name must not be in the ".local" top-level domain, which is reserved for Bonjour.
The primary DNS server used by the server must be 127.0.0.1 (that is, itself) unless you're using another server for internal DNS. The only DNS server set on the clients should be the internal one, which they should get from DHCP if applicable.

  • Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server BIOS password issue

We have a Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server BIOS password issue.
We needed to turn on Bit locker in the Cisco Server VCS C220. To do this we needed to create an administrator password for the BIOS to turn on trusted Platform Module (TPM). After we set up the administrator password and turn on Security for TPM. We were prompted for the administrator password. It would not let us log in with the administrator password that we created for the BIOS. In the next few days we received a BIOS is corrupted screen (BIOS Flash Image Corrupted *****).We follow procedures to recover the BIOS with the USB stick with recovery .cap file in the root folder. We tried reseating the jumper pg. 35 of the Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server of the Installation and Service Guide.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220/install/C220.pdf
We were able to bring up the server, but we are still not able to get pass the Admin password issue. We tried to clear the CMOS header with Header J37 page 2-18 but we had no success with clearing out the password prompt. Figure 2-6 Service Header Locations shows the J41 BIOS RCVR boot and J37 Clear CMOS.
Can anyone provide us documentation of where the pins are located on the motherboard to clear the BIOS password? We are looking for more of a detail picture of the pins please. The documentation is only showing a basic diagram of the header locations.

You need to look at the CUCM logs for further info on what might have happened, and to make sure your servers are fit for the amount of users, devices, etc. you have in your environment.

  • 1814 6 Server rejected device change

I have an end user that is getting the following message from time to time when synching:
The message was:  AirSAMStateMachine.c  1814 6 Server rejected device change He hits OK, and it went through the sync.   Then attempts to sync again, and receives:  AirSAMStateMachine.c  3828 4 Sync key invalid, cmd: 4, status: 4
     And the sync stopped.
Tries to sync one more time, and received:  There was a problem syncing with the Exchange ActiveSync server.  Your next sync will take a little longer than usual.  Do you want to sync now?  He hit “yes.”  When the sync was done, all private entries in his PDA were no longer private.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

What Btuck91 did is the fastest solution that I know of ... Try three consecutive syncs and if you get the messages as he did what will happen is follows.
    1. First sync that failed (AirSAMStateMachine.c  1814 6 Server rejected device change) indicates that there are Private records that Exchange does not support.
    2. Second sync that failed (AirSAMStateMachine.c  3828 4 Sync key invalid, cmd: 4, status: 4) indicated that the indexing to exchange has determined that the field (Private) must be ignored and stripped from the sync and that it must reindex information on the device according to Outlook's rules
    3. Third sync which gets error There was a problem syncing with the Exchange ActiveSync server.  Your next sync will take a little longer than usual.  Do you want to sync now?  He hit “yes.” and then this one is longest as it goes through and strips the Private indicators from the things that Outlook/Exchange will not support.

  • InDesign Server CC2014 Trial issue

    Hi,
I cannot start our InDesign Server CC 2014 (Windows Server 2008). I have installed the software and was logged with our Adobe ID and installation was successful without any error message. The installation manual states that “InDesign CC Server needs to be activated before it can be used. If the computer is online, activation is done automatically when you install.” However, I got an error message when I tried to launch InDesign Server: “Adobe InDesign Server is not properly licensed and will now quit”.
Since  I had previously installed InDesign Server CS6 on another machine, I tried to use the APTEE to start the trial. I used the CS6 one because I did not find any version for CC 2014, I finally got the message:
    StartTrial Successful
    Return Code = 0
but when I tried to launch again InDesign Server, I always get the Adobe InDesign Server is not properly licensed and will now quit message.
I also read this thread but did not find the solution Indesign Server CC Trial issues
    Thanks for help!

We got the answer hereReturn code 6 when trying to activate trial of InDesignCC Server 2014

  • Hi ... Suddenly I have this problem with my iPhone4 . Whenever I am dialling or receiving calls, I am not audible at the other end , but if I am putting phone on speaker then I am audible to other person .Not sure if any setting is changed or device issue

Hi ... Suddenly I have this problem with my iPhone4 . Whenever I am dialling or receiving calls, I am not audible at the other end , but if I am putting phone on speaker then I am audible to other person .Not sure if any setting is changed or device issue. Please suggest or help.

There's an Apple help page on the DNS problem - at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3408
The first thing to try is changing your DNS settings - and for that you need to open System Preferences, then the
    Network section.
In Network - click  on Advanced - then the DNS tab
under DNS servers - use the + button to enter two extra lines
    either these, from google dns
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4
    or from OpenDNS
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
then click OK & then 'Apply'
You would need to do that seperately for the Cable (Ethernet) settings and Wireless (Airport)

  • "This message has not been downloaded from the server" - Multiple devices all using Exchange Active Sync

We are having this issue across multiple IOS devices ranging from IOS version 5.x up to the latest 6.1.2. Many (not all) emails sent to the devices are unreadable and simply state: "This message has not been downloaded from the server". Microsoft believes this to be some sort of bug with the IOS devices in the way they are handling the SSL encryption.
    Facts:
    - Devices are connected to an Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup 6 via Active Sync (No POP3, IMAP or SMTP)
    - issue occurs on multiple IOS devices within the organization ranging from IOS 5.x up to the latest 6.1.2
    - Issue occurs on both external cellular data and internal wireless networks
    - Not all emails sent to the devices result in the error, but issue does tend to occur more frequently from certain senders/domains
    - Using the same user account on an android phone does not result in an issue (even when receiving the exactly same email that has been sent to the IOS devices)
    - Closing mail app / rebooting device does not resolve the issue
    - Doesn't appear to matter what the mesage format is (can be html, plaintext, etc)
    - Spent nearly 7 hours with Microsoft going through the Exchange server configuration and looking for possible causes. None have been found and all testing indicates things are setup correctly.
    - This is not a case of Issue 2.3 listed here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563324 (verified by Microsoft Support)
    - If we disable SSL on the IOS device and connect via plain HTTP the messages are displayed correctly!
    - If we use a different SSL certificate, the issue still occurs - so not a problem with the original cert.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what would cause this? Does the ISO devices have any sort of log that would indicate why it's reporting this error? The current error is pretty unhelpful.

GFI Have a solution for this problem. It is to do with iOS implementation of reading the message headers when SPF compliance modifications are made by GFI.

  • Mac OS 10.4.10 and Tape Devices issues

    Subject: [BRUServer-Announce] Mac OS X 10.4.10 Announcement...
I am posting this message out to the group for additional knowledge on
    this issue..
We have a older G5 XServe with XRaid connected via Fibre Channel and an Adic
Scalar 100 LTO-2 tape unit connected via SCSI.
We have been seeing some issue with our tape unit lately and looking for
suggestions on a fix or work-a-round.
    BRU suggest this:
    <snip>
To resolve this issue, we strongly suggest that you downgrade to
10.4.8, as 10.4.9 has been known to exhibit the same type of symptoms.
    <snip>
My question would be if we select to downgrade to Mac OS 10.4.8,
What would be the Best method to do downgrade to Mac OS 10.4.8 ?

    Subject: [BRUServer-Announce] Mac OS X 10.4.10 Announcement...
Please do not reply to this message.
This list is for announcements only.
An Important Note for Mac Users of BRU Technology Under Mac OS X
Since the release of 10.4.10, there are a number of issues that have
surfaced with writing to tape and disk devices. For this reason,
10.4.10 is not compatible with tape devices connected to Mac OS X
10.4.10 via SCSI, FireWire, USB, SAS, or Fibre-Channel.
This is not a BRU Server software problem, but rather an Apple Mac OS
X problem when using any type of software that communicates with tape
    devices.
Other problems with XRAID, Xsan, and other disk devices communicating
over these channels may also be realized.

To resolve this issue, we strongly suggest that you downgrade to
10.4.8, as 10.4.9 has been known to exhibit the same type of symptoms.
We apologize that we did not make the announcement sooner, however, we
believed that 10.4.11, which fixes this problem, would be released
much sooner than now. As of this announcement, 10.4.11 has yet to be
released, nor has there been an announcement for its expected release
    date.

an update on my client's situation:
    os: server 10.4.11
scsi card: LSILogic Ultra320, 1.3.39.0 firmware
tape: exabyte 1x10 library, vxa172 tape drive
after a reboot, but still running 10.4.10, the tape drive appeared on the SCSI bus.
after installing the 10.4.11 update, the OS can't see the tape drive, but the library is. basically, that's no different than before the update.
does anyone have any ideas on how to scare the drive into reappearing? would unloading/reloading kexts help? the library is basically useless without the tape drive reliably recognized by the SCSI card.

  • WRVS4400N FTP Server Time-out Issue

I recently installed a Linksys WRVS4400N wireless router.  After installing it, I began to experience an FTP connectivity issue.  (I use Macromedia Dreamweaver to do my web site file transfers.)   Although I can connect to my web servers and log in successfully, as soon as I attempt to transfer any files to the sites, I get a "Waiting for server..." error, and then eventually I lose the connection.
I tried disabling the firewall and IPS functions of the router, but that did not solve the problem.  I then uninstalled the WRVS4400N and reinstalled my old Symantec Firewall Appliance 100, and FTP file transfers worked fine, as they had before.  I then reinstalled the Linksys router, and the problem returned.
Obviously, the Lynksys device is causing this problem, but I can't figure why.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Similar issue resolved this AM. When I called they already knew of the issue and I read some posts about updating to a beta firmware HOWEVER, they first instructed me to 1) re-download the firmware (encase of prior corrupted download) 2) backup my Settings 3) reflash the firmware 4) try FTP (which worked) 5) restore settings I was extremely dubious about this working, but low and behold, Filezilla is back up and running properly. I am rather surprised myself. Else just call, they already know of the issue.

  • SMTP Server (port 25) issues on iPhone - IOS 4.1, 4.2.1

SMTP Server Issues ios on iPhone 4.1 / ios 4.2.1
I use an IMAP email account Administered by my company ( I'am administrator in linux/freebsd, etc) and i have it set-up on my iPhone 4 (factory unlocked and NOT jailbreak). The incoming mail server works fine on wifi and 3G Both But the smtp server only works on wifi. If I Attempt to send a message while on 3G Attempts to send the phone for about 5/10/15... and never sent.
perform a downgrade to version 4.1 and the problem remains. Before ios 4.0.1 had no problems.
    Testing:
I jailbreak (in 4.1) (only for install net commands in console), install console and "telnet smtp.mycompany.com 25" and time out, but turn wifi and connect; "ping smtp.mycompany" is ok.
Set wifi on, try "telnef smtp.mycompany.com 25" is ok !!!, turn wifi of, try 3G same problem, time out.
Restore no jailbreak 4.1 and try and same problem, restore 4.2.1 no jailbreak and same problem. Try change sim (personal to movistar) and same problem.

    nevorask –
Thanks for visiting our forums. I actually had a similar
situation. I had the iPhone 3GS and used it all the time on a FM transmitter in
my car. When I upgraded to the iPhone 4, it wouldn’t work with the FM
transmitter. I never figured out why it wouldn’t work. I would suggest you
continue working with the manufacturer of the device or wait to see if the next
    iOS update addresses this issue.
Please feel free to visit us again if you have any other
    questions.

tap0.device is not working and i can't find the uml_utilities package anywhere.
    help?

Sorry for the rather late response, but I've just been through this issue myself. The tunctl & brctl utilities are now part of 'uml_utliities', which is itself deprecated.
I downloaded uml_utilities and installed it.
I've encountered a bug which appears to be common to all bridged netwroking (the inbuilt VirtualBox bridging demonstrates the same problem). The nature of the bug is that if I bridge with the physical ethernet adapter, only a linux guest VM can see the outside world. THis is true whether the guest is running under VirtualBox or KVM so the issue appears to be generic.
Non-linux guests can see each other and the *host*, but not the rest of the world. Speculations as to the reason include the deprecation of Uml_Utilities, but regardless, I tried something different.
I created the bridge and assigned it a separate subnet. I added some tap interfaces. I ran a DHCP server instance listening on the bridge alone. I set forwarding on, and created a static route enabling my router to find the virtual subnet.
I used dnsmasq for the DHCP as it isn't used by my regular network setup, meaning that I can screw around with it trivially without breaking things. Additionally, I set up the config automatically from my vnet script. I can potentially add multiple virtual subnets this way although I haven't included support in the script as yet. The minimal config hands out addresses from the pool specified on the vnet command line, and I can set up static addresses on the same subnet by referencing the contents of /etc/host and /etc/ethers (it identifies vms by mac address).
This works perfectly, and has the advantage that the virtual network traffic will route via wireless as well as cabled ethernet. It also makes it simple to firewall the virtual subnet and reduces the risk of experiencing minor hassle when my broken vnet code stuffs the ethernet interface.
Ping me if you want a copy of the vnet script, although it's still very much a work in progress.

  • ACS server migration AD issue.

AD issues while migrating from cisco ACS 4.x to 5.x? AD base authentication failure

    Hello Pratik-
    A few questions:
    1. Did you disconnect the old server to make sure that there are no conflicts?
    2. Did you clear the arp-cache on your layer 3 device to ensure that the new IP-to-MAC entry is in the arp table
    3. Did you join the new ACS server to AD?
    4. What does the authentication logs show in ACS for the filed AD authentications
    5. Post the output of the "show authentication session interface interface_name_number" of the interface with the failing dot1x authentication
