Gamer Club Unlocked - Special Welcome Coupon?

Hello, I purchased the Gamer Club Unlocked subscription a week or two ago and I did not receive my Special Welcome Coupon as advertised. How do I go about receiving this?

Sorry to hear that! Gamers' Club Unlocked welcome packets typically only take 2-3 business days to arrive by e-mail, so it'd be difficult to determine why you wouldn't have received yours by now. I've sent you some information though, so make sure to check your private messages when you get the chance.
To check your PMs, simply sign into the forum and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

  • Does the 10% off used games apply with special welcome coupon?

    I purchased Gamers Club Unlocked and received my set of special welcome coupons. I decided to take advantage of the buy two, get the third free this past weekend. However, I was just looking at the receipt and noticed that I did not receive 10% off the games. Does the 10% off bonus not stack with the welcome coupon? Not sure if this affect the 10% discount, but I also used a gift card and birthday reward cerfiticate on the purchase and the used games were also on sale. Thanks for the help!

    Can anyone tell me where to see my membership status, like when my Gamer Club Unlocked membership will expire (or has expired)?

    I'll be happy to answer your question, and thank you for being a My Best Buy member.
    Without providing specific purchase information I can say that your membership would have expired last fall were it not for the complimentary extension we offered members.  That being the case, your Unlocked membership benefits were extended until Feb. 10, 2014.  
    You would have been eligible for a $30 renewal coupon if you were interested in renewing, and we were recently able to offer an added time frame to provide those.  Please see our post linked below for more information on how to receive a coupon.

  • Restrictio​ns on SAVE 50% on a new strategy guide via a special welcome coupon?

    Let me state, I rarely (as in almost never) buy these guides.  But figured I signed up for GCU, and had the coupon.
    So what better game to have a guide for, but Dragon Age : Inquisition.
    I brought the Guide to the register.  It's a $24.99 guide.
    Clerk scanned the guide, entered my GCU phone#, then scanned the coupon.
    It consistently would not accept the coupon.
    He read the fine print and we both couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. 
    Are there restrictions on this coupon?  The clerk thought maybe it was only on older guides, but that sounded like BS.

    Thanks for joining Gamers Club Unlocked,  I trust that aside from the hiccups with your welcome packet you'll enjoy all the added benefits to your My Best Buy experience.
    Our game guide coupons don't have any sort of restriction on the type of game guides they work with.  They do specify that the discount is taken off the regular price, but from what you mentioned I don't believe that would have been an issue for you.
    As I don't see any reason why the coupons would not have worked, I would recommend you attempt using it again, and as enuf mentioned, it may be worthwhile to ensure your My Best Buy account is attached to the purchase before the products.

  • Can't pay off pre-order to join Gamer Club Unlocked in weekly ad?

    So I got the Best Buy ad this moring in the paper and saw the "Join Gamers Club Unlocked for $30 when you buy any new game $39.99 or above." Knowing I still had 3 preorders outstanding, I called up the Rewards Zone 866 number and asked them if I would be able to take my preorder in and just pay it in full to satisfy the requirement so I could join. Of course is what I was told and just to take my pre-order receipt into customer service. 
    I head into Best Buy in Castleton, Indiana (#229) and head to customer service as told with the ad and explain I called the RZ 866 number and they told me to bring it to them. After the lady handling the registered called someone, he told me that it would be no problem and he would just have to cancel my preorder and then to just pull the game card and one of the Gamers Club Unlocked cards and the register would take care of it. 
    Then that is when everything went South. 
    I hand the individual the two cards and he proceeds to tell me I could join the GCU for $30 when I buy a game. When I told him I wanted to pay in full for the game he told me I could not do that because "it's two different systems." I explained that I had already spoken to the RZ folks as well as customer service and then he told me "well I should know, I'm the video games guy." I then told him I would just come home and call the RZ folks again, asked for his name and store number which he gave me in a smug tone and I left. As I was walking out the sliding glass doors he said "have a nice day" in a condescending tone. That set me off. I turned and asked the security guy for a manager to complain about the terrible customer service and attitude and the manager was apathetic in helping me. After explaining what I was trying to do, he said he "thought" he could help me. At this point I was overly annoyed so I told him to forget about it and left. 
    If you look at the add, nowhere does it say you can't pay in full for a preorder game to satisfy the requirement. Obviously it can be done because the folks on the 866 number said it would be no problem and I've seen multiple posts on several video game forums of people doing it at their local store. This is probably the third time in the last year I've had issues with associates at this store on advertised deals. So what gives? Lack of training? Employees that just don't care? 
    So now my dilemma is do I go to another location to see if they can help me or do I just cancel all of my preorders and find a new retailer?

    Enuf is spot-on: since in-store pre-order deposits are not considered to be actual purchases, bundle offers such as our current Gamers' Club Unlocked promotion do not apply. If the title you reserved is released and you pick up your copy while the offer is still in effect, then you would be able to take advantage of the bundle savings during the final sale. Otherwise, you will need to purchase another title $39.99+ to be eligible.
    As far as why your thread was moved is concerned, all My Best Buy Gamers' Club-related inquiries -- including those on promotional offers, benefits, and pre-order bonus certificates -- belong in this board. Our In-Store Purchase board is intended as a place for customers to post general policy inquiries, share their in-store experience, and obtain support for existing/prior purchases.

  • Gamer Club Unlocked for sale online?

    I tried using my coupon in the store for $60.00 off and after about an hour of managers and calling best buy, getting transferred 6 times, and finally I was told to go online and order Gamers Club Unlocked and then call back and they could credit me the $60.00, I can't seem to find it for sale online... does anyone know if that is even possible? At least the cahier Brian bought me a soda..

    I am sorry to hear of the trouble you had with your Unlocked discount coupon.  It does sound as though there may have been some user error on the part of the store associate assisting you in your check-out process.
    I have replied to your private message, but as BrianJason mentioned, Gamers Club Unlocked can only be purchased in-store.  As you had a manager there aware of your situation and offering assistance I would recommend you return and speak with him or her.

  • Gamers Club Unlocked $30 Renewal Coupon??

    Good Evening!
        Last night while reading one of the gaming forums I often visit, I came across a thread that started at the end of Novemeber 2013, that mentioned that coupons were emailed out to GCU members, or members whose subscriptions recently expired, to get re-subscribed for $30. After reading about it, I fumbled through my inbox and spam folder, and wasn't able to find any such coupon. There were a few other people in that forum thread who didn't recieve a coupon either, and were directed here to the Best Buy Unboxed forums, and were told to leave a message here about it, to see if a coupon could be re-sent. Any input at all would be much appreciated, as I would definitely like to partake in the offer if I'm still able to . That was the first I've heard of it.

  • Did not receive gamer club unlocked discount

    So i went to pick up my pre order of the order, it was until i bought it and got home that i realize i did not get my gamers club unlocked discount even though the guy scanned my member card, anything i can to to get the small refund?

  • Gamer Club Unlocked Is not showing expiration date??

    I recently got GCU with the promo they had, the day I got it i had it activated but now there is no date shown, it just shows the GCU Banner and Club Benefits, but no expiration date, I was wondering if I still GCU?? Thanks in advance

    As the email you received stated, your Gamers Club Unlocked membership does show to be valid until 10/31/2016.  The expiration date appearing or not appearing in BestBuy.com should not cause any problems when trying to utilize the 20% discount or any of the other associated benefits.  I am showing that your BestBuy.com and My Best Buy™ accounts are linked, so the 20% discount should reflect on BestBuy.com too.  I just tested your account and the 20% discount seemed to be working just fine.

  • $30 Gamer Club Unlocked Coupon Won't Work ("already redeemed")

    i'm an elite plus member and received the $30 2-year renewal coupon for GCU.  i went to 2 different best buys and my coupon would not work because it said "already redeemed."  the stores refused to help and said i should call 1-800-Bestbuy.  I called twice and kept getting the runaround by service reps who said they knew nothing about the promotion. 
    very frustrating - how do i resolve this!? i thought BB had a policy about providing SOLUTIONS to customers?

    I regret to hear that you attempted to renew your Unlocked membership with the coupon at two separate Best Buy stores to no avail.

  • Use $5 welcome coupon on pre-orders?

    Just curious if I can use this coupon on pre-orders.  It says on any new game $29.99 and up and the exclusions don't say anything about pre-orders.Just checking here before I go out to the store to try, thanks!

To my knowledge though, the coupons state they are valid in store on in stock items. As a pre-order is not purchasing an item readily available, it is my understanding that these coupons wouldn't be able to be applied towards a pre-order.     Both zztoluca and enuf are spot-on here. With the changes to the Gamers' Club Program last November, the @ Gamer magazine and its associated coupons were discontinued for all members. Customers who still had time remaining on their subscription when these changes went into effect continued to receive issues until their original subscription term had expired or until the May 2014 issue, whichever came first. Upon review of your account, it looks like the last issue you should have received was the March 2014 issue.

  • Haven't received all Gamers Club Unlocked Benefits

    So I've purchased Gamers Club Unlocked back in February, and while I've received new games for 20% off, I didn't receive the 10% bonus trade in credit, 10% off a preowned game, and the two special welcome coupons.
