Gamer's Club

I went into Best Buy to join the free Gamer's Club membership in store but they told me that I could only sign up online. Where do I sign up for Gamer's club online? I haven't been able to find where to sign up online.

Hey saberdragon,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the rep you spoke with was incorrect. Currently, customers can only sign up for the free version of the My Best Buy Gamers' Club by visiting one of our U.S. retail stores. We hope to have an online enrollment option again in the future, but this functionality has not yet been added to BestBuy.com.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

  • Bought Gamer's Club Unlocked but it doesn't seem to be activated

Hello! I would like to ask for a rep for help, back on Dec 21th, I bought a Gamer's Club Unlocked subscription but it seems it was only brought and not registered into my MyBestBuy account. Noticed this as I reserved a game yesterday and didn't notice anything different on my receipt.
Sadly, the receipt on which I bough my GCU account is missing but maybe something can be done by giving more information to a moderator like both number accounts and the date and place of purchase. Thank you.

    Hello SsbCandidates,
I see that enuf has provided information in regards to the Gamers Club Unlocked membership and the "Gifting" option.  Unfortunately, if you've purchased the "Gifting" version of the program, then you're going to have to go back to the store to have the item exchanged for the correct item.
I'll be happy to locate your receipt to provide to the store location.   I'm sending you a private message.  Make sure you’re logged in, and click on the envelope icon on the upper right-hand corner of the page to check your forum inbox.
Thank you for reaching out to us and I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Free Version of Gamer's Club

    Hello,
Firstly, I had initially bought the Gamer's Club Unlocked when it was on sale for $30, but after returning to the store twice to try to activate it, I just returned it because of all of the hassle.
I was back at Best Buy again earlier tonight, and was inquiring about the free version of Gamer's Club and tried to sign up for that since I was going to preorder an upcoming game.  After 30 minutes of trying, the employee asked one of her colleagues about it, who simply replied that he didn't even know that there was a free version available.  She then found another employee to help her, and after he tried for another 15 minutes, he simply concluded and told me that Best Buy no longer offers the free version of Gamer's Club.  I wanted to ask here to see if that were true or not.
After being frustrated with trying to get the Gamer's Club Unlocked and giving up on that, I figured it might still be worth buying my games at Best Buy if I can get the 2x points.  However, the Free Version of Gamer's Club is no longer available either, then there isn't much incentive to buy future games at Best Buy.  So it would be nice to get a definitive answer about this.  Thank you very much.

    Hello xmonkee,
I want to start by thanking you for your interest in joining the Gamers Club program.  I'm not sure why the store would say that because we still offer the free membership and the Unlocked for a fee.  Please return to the store and speak to a manager if necessary.
You can view the options by clicking here.  Again, I apologize for the trouble throughout this process.

  • Gamer's Club Unlock isn't unlocked ...

I pre-ordered some games on BestBuy.com recently and also purchased the Gamer's Club sub. I recieved a card in the mail and was instructed to bring it to the store in order to have it activated in my account. On the back of the card, there was a yellow strip instructing the cashier to peel it off and use the barcode underneath. So, I brought it into the store and they had no idea what I was talking about. They scanned it and asked me for $30. I explained that I already paid for it. They said they had never seen anyone bring in a Gamer's Club card that they received online and couldn't get it activated. I ended up at the Customer Desk, where they still could not activate it. A manager came over eventually and overrode the cost to $0 so that it could be added to my account without charging me again. I was informed that I should be all set at that point.
So....I should have checked if I was all set, because I went to pre-order Fallout 4 and the discount will not apply.
I called BestBuy customer service and was told that it was because I had an old account that that they needed to be merged before anything else could be done. However, they said they were having issues and could not currently merge my accounts. So, I called back again and the next person I spoke with said that my Gamer's Club got linked to my BestBuy credit card (even though on my receipt it specifically shows my Reward Membership #) so once my accounts were merged it would be fine. They proceeded to merge my accounts. I should be all set right? Nope.
So I called a third time. On my third call I was told that after my accounts were merged it would take 7 to 10 days for my Gamer's Club to show up. That makes absolutely no sense to me. So far, I feel as though I have just been given excuses and brushed off rather than having my issue fixed. It's a service I paid for, and I'm not reviewing it.
Anyone have any thoughts or similar issues?

    Hello BradMH-
I’m truly sorry to hear about the troubles the store was having trying to activate your Gamers Club Unlocked membership as well as the complications of having to merge your accounts, it certainly sounds frustrating!
I’ve looked over the case notes as well as your purchase history and I think I see the issue.  It appears that the store resold you the Gifting card option again, rather than the in-store SKU for the GCU membership.  In that case, it won’t matter when your accounts are merged, there still won’t be an activated GCU membership to attach to your My Best Buy membership.  If you could, can you send me a private message with the Customer Service Pin from the receipt that they rang up for $0?
You can send me a private message by logging into the forum and clicking on the button across from my name on this post.
    Thanks!

  • Issue Unlocking Gamer's Club Card

I purchased a game online and the gamer's club at the same time back in June. They sent me the gamer's club and was told I needed to unlock it at a physical store. I went to my local BB and they could not figure out how to unlock it without charging me the $30.00 again. Customer service at the physical store called in and they opened a case number for me and I was told it would begin working in 7-10 days. 2 weeks later it still was not working, after 2 phone calls and me getting transferred to 3 -4 other agents I finally got thru to someone who could help. They said they were missing one of the codes on the back of the card and that is why support could not help but now they had the codeit would be live in 7-10 days. That was on July 14th today is the 27th and again after 2 phone calls and no one knowing what was going on I am still without a membership and have wasted almost 2 hours on the phone with no progress or solution. My case number is {removed per forum guidelines}. Someone please help me resolve this issue!!!!!!

    Hello chiefdbm-
It certainly sounds like this has been a frustrating situation to go through and I’m sorry to hear that you do not yet have a resolution to the matter of activating your Gamers Club Unlocked membership.
I did locate the case notes you spoke of and it does look like they are still looking into it.  However, I do have a couple of questions that may help us resolve this sooner.  Did the store actually ring up a second membership for you and charge the $30 to do so?  If they did, can you send me a private message with the Customer Service Pin from that receipt?
I look forward to hearing back from you!

  • Gamer's Club $60 expired before I even got it

    Hi,
I have a question for you and finally found a place to ask it. I was out of town during the period that the $60 coupon for getting the Gamer's Club unlocled coupon was valid. I was hoping there was still a way to get signed up for that or if I am out of luck?

    Hello goalieboy79,
Thank you for being a My Best Buy member, and thank you for your interest in getting Gamers Club Unlocked.  Regrettably we do not have the ability to reissue targeted offers such as that.  You can certainly sign up for Gamers Club Unlocked any time at your local store, but it would be at the full retail price.
Please watch your email and www.my.BestBuy.com for any future offers or promotions.
    Thanks!

  • Gamer's Club Price Drop :)

Wow when did the price of the gamer's club membership for 2 years drop to $30
I was thinking to pre-order Witcher 3 and on the landing page it mentions again the gamers club.  Which at least today is on sale for 2 years for $30.
so I applied the $20 in rewards certificates I had and paid $10.
When I get it I will pre-order witcher 3 and apply my discounts my rewards membership will only cost $8.01 which I will get back on the next game I pre-order

    Hey bobberuchi,
We permanently reduced the price of Gamers Club Unlocked (GCU) to $30 last month, actually! Where have you been?!
This is certainly not a sale and this will be the standard price going forward. Also, $8.01 is an absolute steal for The Witcher 3, well played!

  • Gamer's club 2 year extension extended 2 years off time of purchase instead of due expiration date.

    Hello,
I extended my Gamer's club extension last week and noticed it extended to 2 years from the time of purchase instead of 2 years from 2/10/14 when the membership was due to expire prior to the extension.  Could someone help me get this fixed?
    Thank you,
    Rich

    Hello gamesaholic,
Thank you for renewing your Unlocked membership.  I am sorry for the concern that the date has caused you.  The My Best Buy team is aware that some accounts are showing an expiration date based on when they renewed rather than their previous expiration date.  This is being investigated  and you should see any necessary changes reflected long before your currently listed expiration date.  Thank you for your patience in the meantime.
    Best regards,

  • I don't understand why i can't play my games on club pogo

i don't understand why i can't play my games on club pogo, please help me figure this out

What is your operating system (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8)?
What browser are you using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari)?

  • Never used Gamer's Club welcome coupon, now link is dead.

Hi I hope someones can help me out. I joined gamer's club back in October or November and recieved my welcome coupon email but I never used it. I wanted to use it a few days ago and the link was dead. I called 1 800 Best Buy and I ended up recieving an email saying the welcome coupons are automated and there's nothing that can be done about it. That seems unfair. Please help. Thanks,

    Hey there rawdromatik,
Thanks for writing in, and thanks too for being an Unlocked member.  It's a great addition to your My Best Buy experience.  Part of the benefits are those welcome coupons, but regrettably as all good things must come to an end, so too must welcome packet coupon eligibility.
As with other coupons that are offered by Best Buy, our welcome packet coupons come with an expiration date.  These are typical 2-4 weeks from the date issued.  As you enrolled in October, your packet would have likely expired in the middle of November.  Once they expire the link will no longer work.
I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused.  If you choose to renew your account you will have access to a new packet.  Please let us know if you have any additional questions at this time.
    All the best,

  • Ipad air can you play games in Club Pogo

On the Ipad air,can you play games in Club Pogo

The website games need Adobe Flash player so you can't play them. You can download the app. Either do a google search for pogo.com for the app or go to the app store. In he App store after you enter Pogo in the search field and pogo doesn't show up tap iPad only at the top of the screen then tap iPhone only and Pogo should be at the top left corner.

  • I'm also missing 2x points from Gamer's Club

I'm a Gamer's Club Unlocked member and I bought Alien Resurrection for Xbox One and didn't get double points. The same thing appears to have happened with Bayonetta 2. It lists I'm going getting 47 points when it should be 94.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi retrogamer76,
Thanks for purchasing your copies of Alien: Isolation and Bayonetta 2 with us! I'm a fan of both franchises myself and am looking forward  to playing both games in the next few weeks.
I've had the chance to review your account and can confirm that the Gamers' Club Unlocked everyday bonus points have been awarded to your account for your Bayonetta 2 purchase. As with the base points for the sale, remember that these can take 15-20 days from the time of pickup or shipment to post. When you can, I'd encourage you to double-check your points history on BestBuy.com.
As far as your Alien: Isolation purchase is concerned, it's possible that the everyday bonus points may not have been applied properly since you enrolled in the GCU program that same day at another location. I've addressed that issue, however, so you should see record of the 2x points in the next 2-3 business days. Again, you'll want to keep an eye on BestBuy.com for updates.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Gamer's Club Unlocked Status not showing up online

    Good afternoon,
A few weeks ago, I ordered the Gamer's Club Unlocked card online for $30 and had it shipped to me. I then took it into a Best Buy to get it activated to my Best Buy account. Two hours later (and after the staff had spoken to managers and the online support), they still could not figure out how to activate the Gamer's Club Unlocked card and scanned in another one to try to activate that one on my account. The staff member then said it would take a few hours to register, and just gave me the 20% off of the games I was purchasing that day.
However, I logged on today to see if my Gamer's Club discount was active on my account, and it does not appear to be. Some help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello houstonkimrey-
I’d like to say welcome to the My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked group of elite gamers, but it sounds like you’ve run into some troubles at the store level getting your membership activated properly.
Regrettably, I can only direct you back to the store for assistance with getting the membership properly activated.  If the store follows the directions on the back of the card, it should be a simple process and should the store need assistance, they have a support line they can contact to help bridge the gap in their knowledge.  You may even want to show them this post to help them out, should they need it, though they should be aware of this support line.
I can confirm that your Gamers Club Unlocked has not been properly activated on your account, so I would recommend returning as soon as you can to the store.  I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you.
Please let us know how things go!

  • Account Migration and Gamer's Club Unlocked

Long and bitter post alert, apologies in advance for the wall of text.
Somehow, I ended up two my Best Buy accounts - one of them ElitePlus, one normal with a Gamer's Club Unlocked subscription (apparently I shop at Best Buy alot, but given my recent experiences, I am starting to rethink that decision).
I called the Best Buy call center who started the process to combine them and they informed me that it would take up to 7 business days. During the account migration process, I was told I would not be able to use my Gamer's Club Unlocked benefits during the migration period. Annoying, but understandable.
8 business days later, I called back to check the status. After being abruptly placed on hold so the associate could "research," I was told I was mistaken, that the account migration process could take up to 10 days and that I would simply need to wait. Not wanting to argue, I accepted that I would just need to wait.
Coincidentally, I was notified just hours later that the migration was complete. When I logged on to check my account, I saw that my Unlocked subscription wasn't listed. When I tried to get the discount on a new game online, I was unsuccessful. Again, I called the call center and confirmed that the Unlocked subscription was no longer linked to my account. To fix this, the case would be escalated to the "back office" who would receive the request in 96 hours, and then need 1-2 business days to complete the request. I truly don't understand how something like this couldn't be fixed with the click of a button, especially given the irony that my purchase of Gamer's Club Unlocked is listed in my purchase history, but here I am waiting another 5-6 business days unable to take advantage of my paid membership.
Apparently, I can go in store to the customer service desk, have them call the call center to verify my Unlocked status, and they can manually give me a discount - but honestly, that is a near stupid amount of hassle considering I purchase most games online. Makes me want to continue purchasing games from Amazon, where they can be delivered at the click of the button and customer service reps have actual authority such that it doesn't take 2+ weeks for the mysterious "back office" to fix a simple account error.
TLDR: Got Gamer's Club Unlocked, excited to spend more money at Best Buy, but due to account issues with My Best Buy I've essentially been unable to use my benefits for 2 weeks, and still have another week (or more) to wait. I'm not holding my breath.

    Hello jeffosaurus_rex,
Thank you for being a My Best Buy Elite Plus member.  We greatly appreciate your loyalty.  Thank you too for enrolling in Gamers Club Unlocked.  I am sorry for the confusion that has subsequently taken place, but I'll be happy to help you get that resolved.
I have reviewed your account and I am happy to see our back office team was able to get us to the one yard line in terms of getting your second account cancelled and the previous purchases associated with your valid membership.  I was able to take your account into the end zone and have applied the Unlocked benefits to your Elite Plus account.  You should see this reflected within 24 hours when you log in at BestBuy.com.  Benefits may also take 24 hours to be reflected when making purchases online or in-store.
Thank you for writing in (and putting up with a football analogy!) and thank you for being a Gamers Club Unlocked member.  Please visit us again with any future questions.
    All the best,

  • Is the FREE Gamer's Club and it's offers gone for good now?

I ask because before the merging that was done on the Best Buy website a while ago there was a specific page where the regular Gamer's Club offers showed up. Now that page shows NOTHING except for the 'epic GCU bundle'  and the $10 reward certificate for pre-ordering promotion if I remember correctly. There's not a single offer listed on there offering up a coupon for $x off of select items anymore. Then again those offers were restricted to ONLY being available online and only taking the discount off of regular prices anymore when they were posted.
This is the page I'm referring to: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp?id=pcmcat327600050019&type=category&skuId=&strId=&...
Not to mention I haven't seen the original non paid Gamer's Club mentioned anywhere in a while. Is it even possible to sign up for the freebie version of the Gamer's Club either in store or online anymore?

    Hey CheapestGamer,
The core (free) Gamers' Club does still exist, but customers can currently only sign up for this option at our U.S. retail stores. Online enrollment may become available again at a later date, but prospective members will need to keep an eye on BestBuy.com for updates.
