Gamers Club Unlocked $30 Renewal Coupon??

Good Evening!
    Last night while reading one of the gaming forums I often visit, I came across a thread that started at the end of Novemeber 2013, that mentioned that coupons were emailed out to GCU members, or members whose subscriptions recently expired, to get re-subscribed for $30. After reading about it, I fumbled through my inbox and spam folder, and wasn't able to find any such coupon. There were a few other people in that forum thread who didn't recieve a coupon either, and were directed here to the Best Buy Unboxed forums, and were told to leave a message here about it, to see if a coupon could be re-sent. Any input at all would be much appreciated, as I would definitely like to partake in the offer if I'm still able to . That was the first I've heard of it.

At this time Gamers Club Unlocked can only be purchased at a local Best Buy store.

    Generally, you should receive the welcome packet within 2-3 days of signing up for GCU. Considering you signed up in May, you definitely should have received yours by now!     Hey Mike,
    Is this still for the $30 GCU? My coupon got screwed up at a BB store before the 10th on that promotion and I've been trying to get a new coupon.
    In regard to the "Date Last enrolled in GCU," should we put the date we enrolled? Just want to confirm so I send the correct information.

  • Gamers Club Unlocked $30 Coupon Apparently didn't take affect last month?

    I was on the phone with customer service for hours yesterday and could not get a straight answer.
    I went to BB on 12/13/13 to purchase 2 - $20 Origin Cards and Renew my BB Gamers Club Unlocked Membership with the coupon for 2 years at $30. I had $10 in rewards Certs as well. I went to the Cashier, saw him scan the coupon, paid for my purchase and left. Realizing, it should have been in more than I paid, I went back to the customer service and asked them to check my account and make sure everything was okay. 
    Customer Service in Store told me everything was fine, I was showing as a Gamers Unlocked Member, and I would get charged the $30 when my date was up from my original Gamers Unlocked Membership. Well I was going to go in and buy GT6 and my 20% was not being deducted. Then told me that was because I was a Gamers Club Member and not a Gamers Club Unlocked member. I told them what was going on, and they said I could renew my membership at the full $20. If I wanted to be a Gamers Club Unlocked Member. 
    I am a very loyal BB customer. I have been an Elite Plus member for a year, and a Gamers Club Unlocked Member for a year. I am very upset with this situation as it seems I have missed up on a oppurtunity thanks to a cashier making a mistake. 
    I still have my original Receipt and Coupon from the date I went in a month ago. What do I do? Do I go talk to the store manager! I really want my Gamers Club Unlocked account re-instated. I am even willing to pay $30 TWICE if I need too. 
    Please Help.

    This issue was had by one person in this thread. I am heading to the store now to see If I can resolve my issue.

    How quick are we supposed to be seeing our welcome coupons from Joining the GCU?

    Good question! It typically takes 2-3 business days from the time of enrollment for Gamers' Club Unlocked welcome packets to arrive by e-mail. If you still haven't seen record of yours within that timeframe, then make sure to double-check your junk mail folders. Gmail users should also check their "Promotions" folder as these types of messages may sometimes not be directed to the primary inbox.

  • Signed up for Gamers Club Unlocked on 5/28 and never received Welcome Coupon email packet

    I signed up for the Gamers Club Unlocked on 5/28 and am still waiting to receive my Welcome coupon email packet.  I was told that this takes 2-3 days but have not received anything.  I combed through my spam/junk email filter as well and did not find anything.

    A lot of people have gotten coupons via email for 50% off a two year subscription to make it $60. I'd love to do this but I never get these coupon emails.

    You should have received a Welcome Packet via email within 1 to 2 business days of becoming an Unlocked member.  I would strongly encourage you to check your email accounts spam or junk folder because the Welcome Packet has been known to get sorted into those folders from time-to-time.  If after checking those folders you still do not have a Welcome Packet, then please send me a private message and I will see what I can do t help.  A private message can be sent by clicking on the blue button within my signature.

  • Gamers Club Unlocked Renewal not Working

    I recently renewed my Gamers Club Unlocked and have been trouble getting my additional two years added to my current experation date. I've called best buy multiple times (3-4 times within the past 3 weeks) and have been told to wait 24-72hrs to see changes made. Instead of getting two years added to my experation date I got 2 years subtracted to my date. My orginall expiration date was 2017 and now its listed as 2015 with my renewal it should be 2019. Any one else have any trouble with their renewal processes? So far it seems like I spent $60 dollars for nothing as I'm not getting any changes made to my account.

There’s no better time to renew your benefits than when Best Buy puts GCU on promotion and I’m happy to hear you were able to take advantage of our recent GCU pricing. However, I do apologize as it sounds like there may be some confusion around when your benefits should expire and the dates that are currently reflecting in regards to the expiration.
    enuf has hit the nail on the head here. Your GCU expiration date reflecting incorrectly is a known issue and our My Best Buy team has been working to resolve this. To further mirror what enuf said, the GCU expiration dates reflecting incorrectly should be resolved well before your benefits would ever expire, so please don’t let it be too much of a cause for concern!

  • I purchased the gamers club unlocked 2 weeks ago and never received my welcome email and coupons

    Purchased the card at a Best Buy on 7/19, have yet to receive my welcome email or coupons and was very interested in the B2G1.

  • Issue with Gamers Club Unlocked renewal

    I took advantage of a current promotion to get 2 years of Gamers Club Unlocked for free. My receipt shows the GCU unlocked sku and then shows that the price was adjusted to $0.00 automatically.
    When looking at my account online, it doesn't reflect the additional 2 years as I already had an active GCU membership. I didn't receive any email as well.
    I spoke with a couple of friends that did the same thing and they noted they saw the additional 2 years on their account within minutes.  I'm wondering if the transaction at the register wasn't done right?
    I see the info on my receipt and on mybestbuy.com page when looking at my transactions.
    My GCU membership should expire in 2019 with the additional 2 years that I bought today, but it only shows me 2017 on my profile.
    How do I go about getting this resolved so that my account has the right year listed for expiration?

    Hi Matt, I've been a Gamers Club Unlocked Member since the program started in September of 2011, as well as a pretty consistent Premier Silver( which has now become Elite P'us) member.     The Gamers Club Unlocked membership went through some enhancements back in November and is no longer $14.99 per year.  As enuf mentioned, it currently cost $119.99 for a two year Unlocked membership.  We have had a couple promotional offers the past couple weeks that were offering a discount of the membership price, but those offers have expired.  There is always the possibility we could have a similar offer in the future; however, at this moment, the price to be Unlocked is $119.99.

    Then when I sent an email to BB support, the response had nothing to do with Gamers Club Unlocked.  They ask me the number of my pre-order and to call the digital download department.  Huh?
    Never got the welcome email and its been over a month!
