Gamers Club Unlocked Expiration Date

Hello,
My expiration date seems to be wrong.  A while ago, I added another 2 years of GCU, and the website didn't show it.  It should have been good until 2019 at that point.  Then, I added another 2 years to my GCU.  The website then showed it expired in 2019, when it should have been in 2021.  I sent a PM to Mike-BBY, and he told me he saw that there was an issue with my account about a year before that, and that my expiration date was in 2020, but that he'd find out to see if you guys could get it back up to 2021, as you all were in the process of fixing GCU accounts.  Now I see that my expiration date is in 2020 on the website. Can someone please look into this?  I have a screenshot of my account showing that it was supposed to expire in 2017, before I added the 4 years of GCU to my account, that I can send via PM if needed for proof.

The last time we spoke I did review your account we did confirm that you had purchased 8 years of Gamers Club Unlocked.  It started in 2012.  The last time we spoke I informed you that we would ensure that we got your account unlocked into 2020, and I am glad to see this was accomplished.  
I will send you a private message with a record of the dates you purchased Gamers Club Unlocked so you can see the information used to confirm your expiration date.

    Thanks for being a Gamers Club Unlocked member.  I hope you've been enjoying all the perks.
    The place to find your Gamers Club status and expiration date (if Unlocked) is under the Rewards Overview page.
    To get there, click on "Account Overview" after hovering over the "MyBestBuy" tile across the top of BestBuy.com.
    Once this page opens, you will want to hover over "Rewards," then click on "Overview."  The next page will have the familiar Elite Status spend tracker at the top right.  Just below that is the Gamers Club status information.  It will appear if you are a free member.  If you are Unlocked it will also show you this along with your expiration date.
    I was able to confirm your expiration date, so I'll send you a private message with that information to ensure you have it.

  • Gaming Club Unlocked expiration date disappeare​d

    I recently noticed that the expiration date for my Gamers Club Unlocked is no longer showing on my account, however after checking with several of my friends it seems that some of them are also having the same issue.
    Is this a known issue?

    Thank you for being a My Best Buy member, and thanks for bringing your questions to us here at the forum.
    This is something that we have only just begun to hear of on the forum, and we don't have any reports of problems from the My Best Buy team.  As your image displays, you are definitely still listed as an Unlocked member, so there has been no change to your account status.
    We will pass along the report to our partners and see if anything has been changed that may have affected these expiration dates.  I trust any affected customers will see them again soon.

    No need to worry! Based on available information, it looks like your Gamers' Club Unlocked subscription isn't set to expire until 11/01/2018. We expect the ability to view GCU status to be re-enabled on BestBuy.com sometime in December, so make sure to keep an eye on the site for updates.

  • My Gamers Club Unlocked membership expiration is still wrong.

    I have mentioned this several times and seems nothing has been resolved.
    I renewed GCU back in September 2013, about a week after it expired.  I then renew once again sometime in November I think.  That time the GCU was for 2 years as the program had been overhauled.  Therefore my GCU should be until September 2016 yet it still shows 2015 on the MYBB page.
    Additionally, I only receive one welcome pack of coupons despite two separate renewals (a 1 year and then 2 year).

As we’ve stated previously on the forums, this is a well-known issue within our My Best Buy team and they have been working to resolve this since the issue began occurring. We are very confident that this will be resolved well before your benefits would ever expire.
    In regards to your GCU Welcome Packet, the Welcome Packets are generally sent within 2-3 business days of signing up for the program. I further apologize as it sounds like you may not have received one of your packets! I’m going to send you a private message with more information in regards to this.   • Issue with Gamers Club Unlocked renewal

    I took advantage of a current promotion to get 2 years of Gamers Club Unlocked for free. My receipt shows the GCU unlocked sku and then shows that the price was adjusted to $0.00 automatically.
    When looking at my account online, it doesn't reflect the additional 2 years as I already had an active GCU membership. I didn't receive any email as well.
    I spoke with a couple of friends that did the same thing and they noted they saw the additional 2 years on their account within minutes.  I'm wondering if the transaction at the register wasn't done right?
    I see the info on my receipt and on mybestbuy.com page when looking at my transactions.
    My GCU membership should expire in 2019 with the additional 2 years that I bought today, but it only shows me 2017 on my profile.
    How do I go about getting this resolved so that my account has the right year listed for expiration?

  • Gamers Club Unlocked membership cancelled one year early and without notice

    Hello.  I was a GCU member with the old program, and upgraded to the new with the 30 dollar two year extension to membership in November 2013.  My membership showed to be active until 6-5-2016, two years after my prior GCU membership expired.  Yesterday, I went to preorder a game, and discovered my membership is gone.  I was on the phone with customer service a few times, and so far it is not fixed.  I found my original purchase receipt date in my history, along with the customer service PIN.  I do not know why my membership was cancelled one year early, but I would like to get it fixed so that I can use it this week.  Thank you.

    We've seen several issues with Gamers Club Unlocked purchases in 2013.  Not sure why, but I'm sorry for the hassle.

  • Gamers Club Unlocked Disappeared Completely

    I just traded in a game the other day and got the extra 10% with GCU and I still get a discount when I add a game to my cart but when I go to the account overview, the right side is completely blank. No expiration date, no gamers club unlocked, no elite/eliteplus status. I'd like for someone to check for me if I still have 4 years of GCU (expiring 2018) Thanks in advance

  • Gamers Club Unlocked Activation Issues... Please check if GCU is active?

    Hello there,
    I purchased the Gamers Club Unlocked gifting card online for myself back in December... Well it wasn't until today that I was able to drive to the nearest Best Buy (about an hour away) to have it activated. I did not try and purchase a game at the store with the membership, but I did try adding a game to my cart online to see if it worked and it applied the GCU discount within the cart. However, when I go to check out, I keep getting an error. Is there any way someone can check and see if the GCU membership was correctly applied to my account and the day it expires? I am seriously doubting myself and the cashier that activated my card, simply because no one there seemed to know what they were doing. And I really don't have the time and gas money to go back to the store to try again.

  • Gamers Club Unlocked Renewal not Working

    I recently renewed my Gamers Club Unlocked and have been trouble getting my additional two years added to my current experation date. I've called best buy multiple times (3-4 times within the past 3 weeks) and have been told to wait 24-72hrs to see changes made. Instead of getting two years added to my experation date I got 2 years subtracted to my date. My orginall expiration date was 2017 and now its listed as 2015 with my renewal it should be 2019. Any one else have any trouble with their renewal processes? So far it seems like I spent $60 dollars for nothing as I'm not getting any changes made to my account.

However, I do apologize as it sounds like there may be some confusion around when your benefits should expire and the dates that are currently reflecting in regards to the expiration.
    enuf has hit the nail on the head here. Your GCU expiration date reflecting incorrectly is a known issue and our My Best Buy team has been working to resolve this. To further mirror what enuf said, the GCU expiration dates reflecting incorrectly should be resolved well before your benefits would ever expire, so please don’t let it be too much of a cause for concern!

  • Gamers Club Unlocked Announcement

    Hopefully many of you have heard that we’re currently adding some enhancements to our My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked program. You may have even had a chance to take a look at all of the great benefits that the program offers. If you are an active member or member whose membership may have expired since May 1, 2013, we are providing a coupon to allow you to renew your Unlocked membership for an additional two years for just $30. Here’s how it will work.
    Starting today, November 7, 2013, emails began to go out to these current and past members that include the coupon mentioned above. These emails will continue to go out over the next couple of days. To help ensure that all qualifying members are able to enjoy these benefits as soon as possible, we have some great news for you. Anyone whose account has expired since May 1, 2013 or does expire prior to February 10, 2014 will have their membership extended to February 10, 2014 at no cost to you. We’ve provided the answers to some questions you may have below.
    Q: How will I receive the coupon to extend my Unlocked membership?
    A: The $30 coupon will be sent to the email address associated with your My Best Buy account. These will begin to go out within a couple of days via email, however we realize that some of you have opted out of receiving email communication from us. For those customers, we will be mailing this coupon to your physical address associated with your My Best Buy membership. Mailing these out can take some time, so please be patient. Don't worry, though. We've got your back which is why we're extending your membership to get these benefits to you even sooner.
    Q: How can I verify my current My Best Buy enrollment status along with the email and address that is attached to my account?
    A: All of this can be done by logging in to your My Best Buy account. Once logged in, use the “My Account” drop-down to view your “Manage Profile” page.     Update as of 11/11/13:
    As of today, all of the email coupons that we are able to send for the Unlocked membership extension have been sent. Please make sure you are checking any junk or spam folders in your account in case these were incorrectly filtered. For those of you that qualify but have not received the coupon, I assure you that you will not be left out and that we are still working to send out the rest through the mail. This may still take some time and we appreciate your patience as we continue to work through this process.
    We are aware that some of you that have received and redeemed this coupon only got an extension for one year instead of the two that we mentioned above. We are actively working with our My Best Buy team to ensure you get the full two-year extension.
    We are also still working to extend the accounts of qualifying members to reflect the new date of February 10, 2014 as outlined above. Some of you may have already seen this extension happen, and we would like to apologize to any of you whose memberships have not yet been extended.     Question:
    I tried calling MYBBY Support, and they were of no use. Long story short, I have been an Unlocked member since the start, and just renewed my membership last month. When I look in the Profile section under myBBY it only shows me as 
    RZ Gamers Club (free)
    And not UNLOCKED like it used to. I just paid $30 for another year renewal, starting next month, and now I am only going to get half a year? Or will I get another full year, which I paid for, plus another 2 years with the coupon.
    Speaking of the coupon, I want to verify I am going to get it, since my profile says FREE and not UNLOCKED. I called MYBBY and have a case with the "Back Office" but have not heard back yet.

  • Gamers club unlocked and best buy account problems

    I purchased gamer's club unlocked on 12/22/14 online and went and had it activated in-store on 12/30/14, i did not receive any indication through email or on my account page that gamer's club unlocked was tied to my account, no expiration date showing i am a member no anything to indicate that it actually was activated and tied to my account. Also i did not receive the welcome coupons that were supposed to be given out. If you can provide me with any information to validate that i received what i paid for that would be most appreciated and let me know where my coupons are that would be great. Additionally when i call to find out about the best buy rewards on my account the automated system has 883 points listed for my account hte website says 117 so whats going on here so far i havent been happy with the system and service in place for these programs.

    I have the GCU until 11/13/15. if i purchase it today (2/24/15) will it expire 2/24/17 or 11/13/17?

    Renewing your account early will extend your membership 2 years from your current expiration date, so adding two years today would put your expiration date out to November of 2019.
