Games aren't available at App Store
Hello guys,
Someone has any idea why the category "Games" is not available at App Store for these countries: Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Korea, Qatar and South Africa?

(I bought the 2.0 upgrade for my iPod touch just to play some games. My credit card is from Brazil, so I cannot download apps and other stuff from the U.S. iTunes Store).
They must not be licensed for sale in those countries.

How come there are no hidden objects games in the South African App Store and y does safari not allow you to get it downloaded from the net. There are only games for kids in the App Store. Can anyone help. Is the South African apple ipad only for children
Nobody here is responsible for what is or is not available in any country. I believe it is a software licensing thing.

im on osx snow leopard but the lion is no longer available on app store. How can i still upgrade to lion? my computer by the way is not compatible with mountain lion. thanks

I do think you should ask yourself if upgrading to Lion is the right course to take.
Snow Leopard is an excellent OS and Lion has literally been frozen out after barely a year. Remember too that some of your apps may not work with Lion (those that have Rosetta, for example) so that could mean more new purchases. Plus you may need to uprate your RAM too. -

Install Yosemite instead of Mavericks. Or you can do the following if your computer supports Internet Recovery:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer. -

Reminders functionality removed in IOS7 - please make IOS6 version available through App Store
Hi,
I am a power user of Reminders (I have over 70 lists + average 10-40 items per list). I use it to access new and recurrent reminders typically via the TODAY list each day. I also use it to track items that I don't want to allocate a time to (such as Christmas shopping ideas throughout the year) but have the option to assign a day / time / priority / location / notes and recurrence if I need to. I use the Reminders to basically run my life.
I accidentally upgraded to IOS7 last year and found the 'new' version of Reminders actually provides less functionality than the old, not to mention the childish design and poor perfomance issues it created on my phone. In short, it no longer does the job.
For people who use the reminders for more than maybe 10 reminders in a day, the functionality is now useless. There was no calendar access to retrieve items pertaining to a specific day without having to scroll through (for me) hundreds of reminders - and I had no way to customise the view - aside from pick one childish colour over another childish colour. The interface 'feature' of different colours and different font sizes (dependent on the length of the reminder) makes it impossible to easily see items marked as priorities, when they are each due and when they became overdue. Against the white background, I could barely make out what the crayon colours were even saying.
Luckily for me, someone at Apple took the time to see how I was using Reminders and agreed that the 'new' version wasn't going to work - and they organised a new phone for me that still had the IOS6 version on it.
I'm now in the situation that I have tried and tested nearly every Task-related app available for iPhones. There is not one application that does everything that the IOS6 Reminders version does.
Assuming someone at Apple thinks they've done a really good job on the IOS7 version, I'm guessing they aren't about to lose face by reverting to the IOS6 version, so before I succumb to reverse-engineering the app and paying someone to build it the way it was ... I am hoping that Apple will have the courtesy of making the app available for download through the Apple Store. At least then it can enable it's loyal customers to benefit from core functionality that actually works as it was originally intended - and in the process, discourage those same customers from exploring alternate manufacturers as they are forced to upgrade from iPhone 4 / 4s / 5 / 5s / 5c.
Hopefully this will reach someone who is in some way, shape or form accountable for the Reminders App and is interested in user feedback.

I have downloaded every task manager - including Remember the Milk, Pocket Informant and Toodledo, as well as about 50 others - and none of them cover ALL of the functionality I need. They are NOT more designed for my type of use as they are time-centric rather than list-driven with a scheduling feature. I ALSO was a power user of Microsoft Outlook (prior to the iPhone even existing) as it was the only product capable of handling the categorisation, search and retrieve functions required to manage a significant number of tasks ... and even it doesn't handle the task management as effectively, simply and quickly as the IOS6 Reminders does. Hence, I moved all of my lists and schedules to Reminders so they were no longer calendar based and could take advantage of the iCloud back-ups + synchronisation across my mobile devices.
I'm not asking for suggestions on alternate products as I am capable of doing a 'search' on the App Store and even Google.
I am expecting that in the interests of improving their products based on their own community feedback, someone from Apple DOES at least monitor the discussions even if they aren't participating in them - and this is another portal to try and get them to see sense in making the previous functionality / look and feel / performance available as a download through the App Store. - and yes I would pay money for it. -
IPhone limited to 130 apps at a time! 6,200 apps available in app store
The i phone is limited to nine app screen i notice this when i try to move on to a tenth screen and it would not let me and also when you download a app after all 9 screen are full the app dose not show up but the app store says it is installed apple needs to expand the amount of screen allowed. you then end up having to delete 2 apps download 1 app in able to make the invisible app appear you have to try this one out for your self so you get a better idea of what i mean so it looks like we are limited to 144 apps per iPhone subtract 14 apps that come default on the screen not including the 4 that are on the bar below you are left with 130 apps that can be downloaded and use at a time per i phone that ***** there are over 6,200 apps available in the app store as i type this to you and apple is limiting me to only carry 130 at a time there is somthing worng with this and i think somthing should be done!
No acutally what that means is most people like myself have to install 30 apps just to get the iphone to do half the things it should have done out of the box. Sure some are wants but most are "need" in order for it to do the things my old palm treo 600 could do, and still there's not copy and past and no video. On top of that they have a stupid 130 limit. I'd love to hear why that is.

How to reinstall old app purchased on iphone that is no longer available in App Store?
A couple years ago I purchased a Colorado maps app (I can't remember the name) from the App Store. The computer that I had it backed up on crashed, so I had to reinstall iTunes on a fresh hard drive.
I still have the backup files of the hard drive that had the app backed up on it. But I don't know how to access the files for that lost app.
Is there a way to reinstall or recover old apps no longer available in the app store from an old backup of itunes or something?
ThanksYou're actually overthinking it. You have the backup of that app of your old HD, yes? On Vista, go to:
c:\Users\[Username]\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Mobile Applications
The tricky part is finding the app name, since you've forgotten it, but try to go with the obvious names first. "Colorado.ipa" etc. Try Appshopper.com's search feature, to possibly refresh your memory. When you've found it, make a copy of it, and install it on your new iTunes Mobile Apps folder. Click on it, and let it load. You'll see it in iTunes (if you're using the same account as before). Good luck. -
