Games Gone

Hi folks,
I recently updated my iTunes to the 7.7 and have lost all my games. When I go into Extras and then Games, it shows (and says) No Games.
I have my iPod set-up to sync music and contacts manually.
Anyone else having the same problem?

IPod Classic games gone from iTunes Store?

Okay, forgive me if this is a dumb question, but after the restyling of the iTunes store, it seems to me that iPod Classic and 5th generation games are gone. I can't find them anywhere, even searching games names like Song Summoner. Did Apple really condemn non-Touch iPods to having no new games?

In iTunes 9, go to the iTunes Store, move your cursor over "App Store", click the arrow that appears, and then click the third option - iPod games.

Where have you been these last few years? All iPod clickwheel games were removed from the iTunes Store as of October 2011. Any you still have in your library can be used with a compatible device, but they can no longer be purchased or redownloaded from the store so keep a good backup.

I have recently bought my son a 'classic' ipod and have now found out he's not going to be able to play games...........grrrrrrrrrrr
does anyone know if he will still be able to watch movies/prrogrammes etc????

Yes. You can still download and sync music to the iPod from your iTunes library.
I don't think you are going to locate iPod clickwheel games anywhere else. Sorry.

N95 game installation

i have just been searching the net for a few new games for the n95 and i have hit a problem.
Now i thought the n95 was an s60 os.
Well i found a site which states the games are for the s60 nokia phones
So i down load an sis file which my n95 says it doesn't support.
Where am i going wrong then guys?

Hi All,
To make a story short, my N95 stopped working and it was replaced by the dealer. The replacement, next day, was again repaired because of "sticker left over on the speaker from the inside"
Anyway, in all this commotion, the firmware is now 11.0.026 with Snake and SRE games gone! I did restore the phone to a saved backup from my SD; still no games! I also reseted the phone; and they're still not there!

I'm really fed up with Verizon FIOS

Hi everyone.
At start I want to say I'm really dissapointed with this service. I have 75/35, but even simple TWC was working better than this. I think only for about 2 weeks everything was fine and then it started to be really laggy. I'm a gamer and this is what I mostly use internet for. I'm also not American and I have real life friends in Europe. I want to be in contact with them and playing games together is really good. Now of course I could use US servers to play, but they can't.
Back in december 2012 laggs started - what was previously 100ms changed into 220ms. It lasted for about 2-3 months and then stopped. Finally I was able to play once again on european servers, but it didn't last long, because after some time it's back again, but this time in slightly different form: I can play one game with ping 100-130 which is completely fine with me and the next game gonna be around 160-220 ms which is unplayable. So it's completely random at any hour of the day. Like I've said before TWC was much more stable and cheaper. I'm paying almost twice as much for much worse service.
I don't think it's my fault in fact I'm almost entirely sure it's not my fault. I don't want to call technical service just to hear I should restart the router or disconnect for 5 minutes and if that did not work, there is nothing else they can do. I bet even 6 years old kid knows how to restart router now. Why I say it's not my fault is because back when I had the energy to investigate the issue I discovered there are many people on Veriozn FIOS experiencing same/similar problems. Maybe for them it's not a problem, but for me it's huge. Maybe Verizon thinks it's fine to screw gamers, but I don't think this way.
I'm a customer not a programmist and I don't want to be their Guinea pig I want to get service I'm paying for, and from what I heard it should be the best, well it's far from it, even youtube laggs. I also heard they have some troubles with google, but of that I'm not entirely sure.
If these problems won't get solved in a few days, I'm going to dissconect the service and probably never tell a good word about service/company. I don't really care about which company I pay as long as they are doing fine. There are alternatives, so why should I wait until they fix the issues, if it takes them about half year or they don't get fixed at all. I don't know.
TLDR:
Verizon FIOS = nice ads, bad service, bad customer suppprt
TIL Cable is better than fiber.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 causes an exception

I installed APE 6 on my Windows Vista computer and it works ok but now when I open some other programs it causes an exception. These are important programs too, my EOS Utility program for Remote Capture from my camera, gone. My program for transferring data to my calculator, gone. My Monopoly game, gone. What happened and how can I fix this?

This may have happened due to insufficient RAM. Try running these programs on a system with greater RAM.

Just sitting watching Chelsea v Tottenham from the website stream and 70 minutes in the feed stops and gives a stream of different error messages on several browsers and operating systems. Pull out the tablet and guess what unable to stream through the app either.
What's tbe point in offering a service that is just going to damage your reputation with your customers?

Shocking isn't. Got bombed out around about the same time as you. Broadband went down, then came back up, but cannot log into BT sport since about 75minutes of the game gone. Appalling!

so, yeah. seeing a lot of peep's data getting hosed from this update. including myself.
this is a failed update regardless of how many new and "world's first" features there are. i wish i had kept the last version.
i can deal with the loss of "corrupt data," able to channel my anger better than my 10 yr-old son. he had games on there that he spent so much time leveling and achieving goals -- all wiped and dashed. he even spent allowance money (with my supervision) on buying "gold" and extra stuff that the game makers offer to improve his games.
gone. all gone with a click of an "agree" button. there is no way to get any of that back, and i'm above moderate savvy with this stuff.
i even tried to restore backup sets from a few days ago, then a months ago, and everytime, i get the same thing: data is corrupt or similar discouraging error message. it's as though this update just doesn't know what to do with personalization data and all those apps data. or it tried to and completely fncks it all up. every game, every app, every infromation that mattered, gone.
what the fnck happen, apple? did you not have enough time to beta? did you think siri and newsstand were so fncking cool that you had to push this out the door, and deliver a destructive update?
what's your next plan to safeguard your loyal users' data? because that back-up ideas you have -- icloud or icouldcareless or iwhateverthehellyouwanttocallit -- is a fail.
what does your term of use actually say in there (i never read it): "if your data is wiped by our negligence, tough ***** because you don't read this stuff anyway."

i can deal with the loss of "corrupt data," able to channel my anger better than my 10 yr-old son. he had games on there that he spent so much time leveling and achieving goals -- all wiped and dashed. he even spent allowance money (with my supervision) on buying "gold" and extra stuff that the game makers offer to improve his games.
gone. all gone with a click of an "agree" button. there is no way to get any of that back, and i'm above moderate savvy with this stuff.
i even tried to restore backup sets from a few days ago, then a months ago, and everytime, i get the same thing: data is corrupt or similar discouraging error message. it's as though this update just doesn't know what to do with personalization data and all those apps data. or it tried to and completely fncks it all up. every game, every app, every infromation that mattered, gone.
what the fnck happen, apple? did you not have enough time to beta? did you think siri and newsstand were so fncking cool that you had to push this out the door, and deliver a destructive update?
what's your next plan to safeguard your loyal users' data? because that back-up ideas you have -- icloud or icouldcareless or iwhateverthehellyouwanttocallit -- is a fail.
what does your term of use actually say in there (i never read it): "if your data is wiped by our negligence, tough ***** because you don't read this stuff anyway."

Purchased app won't install

I purchased the game Gone Home for my computer and it will not install. I've looked at the purchases list in the app store and have clicked on the install button, but absolutely nothing happens. I've searched the applications folder and there's nothing there either. It seems as if it didn't even download. This setiously bothers me as I've spent $20 on this.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select
/var/log ▹ appstore.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

Tiger Update night mare.

I had a problem where I couldnt log in at all. No way no how no single user, no safe mode. Apple told me to update to tiger. I did a archive and install. It went fine I was able to log in. I down loaded all updates. I backed up my home folders, prefs and settings, and iLife. I ran disk warrior. It said 32% so I rebuilt the directory. My problem is apps and files would not open. Wm player wouldn open just bounce in dock and then close. So I did an erase and install of Tiger.I down loaded the new versionof wm player for Mac. Still wont open. I trashed all the wm player files. Trash will not empty it says the files are locked. Some movie files wont open quicktime flashes fast message locating files.Virex wont open I lost it. Can I get it back? Nanosaur game gone! I tryed to down load it from their site but the file looked funny like a page. It wouldnt install. I use LimeWire. I downloaded it again and it doesnt work right The skins dont look right everything is weird. What can I do. Do I need to erase and install panter, then do tiger upgrade? Help please.
iMac G5 20 inch 160GB Mac OS X (10.3.8) iSight, 1GB Ram, AirPort, 160GB FireWire Ext. Drive

I recommend you erase the hard drive and reinstall Tiger from scratch. I assume you have the standard Tiger DVD. Do the following:
1. Boot from your Tiger DVD. After the installer loads select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process will take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending upon the drive size.
After the reformatting has completed quit Disk Utility to return to the installer. Now proceed to install Tiger. Be sure to disconnect all peripherals except the original keyboard and mouse. This includes Firewire drives. Once you have completed the installation of Tiger download the 10.4.3 Combo Updater from Apple and install it.
After you have a properly working version of Tiger installed you can move on to reinstall your other software. However, be sure to verify that the versions you have are compatible with Tiger. If not then get upgrades to versions that are. If you install incompatible software you will be back to where you were before.
In the future do not install any new system software or upgrades without first repairing your hard drive and permissions. After installing third-party software you should always repair permissions.

You most likely synced your iPod to a different iTunes then you previously synced it with. You won't be able to get all of your music back unfortunately unless you had it backed up.

Back up your device if needed
Connect your device to your computer.
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes. Select the Summary tab, and click the Restore button.
Click Restore.
After a restore, the iOS device restarts. You should then see "Slide to set up". Follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant.
