Games keep crashing under Windows XP SP2 32Gig FAT32 partition

Hi All!
Hopefully somone can help me. We just purchased an iMac Core 2 Duo 20" from Best Buy. I was able to install BootCamp and install Windows XP Pro SP2 on a 32Gig FAT32 partition. I installed all the updates for WinXP. When we play games like Black & White 2 or Zoo Tycoon 2, the games seem to run fine until they crash, which seem to happen at random interval (several minutes into the games i.e. 20-30 minutes). I've tried updating the games, but no go.
Running under Mac OS X (10.4.9), the machine has never crashed...it is rock solid. Not so when running Windows XP SP2. I've tried wipping the XP partition (using the BootCamp application) and starting over from scratch, only to get the same results. Has anyone experienced something similar? Most importantly, has anyone gotten around this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Imac Core 2 Duo, 20" (Late 2006), 2.16Ghz, 250Gig HD, 1Gig RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Also have WinXP SP2 32Gig FAT32 partition

Just an idea for you. There is an entire Apple Discussion forum dedicated to Boot Camp and Windows XP.
Whereas, not everyone here with an Intel iMac has installed, tried to install or has experience with BC & XP, everyone there has or at least has an interest. You may attract help more quickly there.
The Forum is at the bottom of the main Apple Discussions page under Windows Compatible Technology.

    Well it came installed on my brand new Windows 8 pro w530 I received 4 weeks ago and has never worked. When you try to open power manager it just crashes. If you uninstall it the Lenovo software just keep reinstalling it. If you uninstall the Lenovo PM driver but do not reboot you can then open Power Manager. The minute you reboot the Lenovo software reinstallls the driver.
    Why would Lenovo install software on a brand new Windows 8 laptop that is broken and useless? Tech support is absolutely no help they transfer you to the software department which wants to charge you to fix a problem that Lenovo created!!! It is crazy!! I was hoping someone here could solve this problem or maybe someone at Lenovo would see this and get the problem resolved. Tech support has been useless. I reported the problem to them at least 5 times.

    PSE 8 keeps crashing in Windows 7, any suggestions ?

    Hi,
    I would like to know whether organiser or editor crashes ?
    If its organiser then there is something related to Catalog.
    Try these steps :
    1. Goto this location : C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\  -- (program data is hidden folder by default , you will need to unhide it)
    2. Under this location you will find all the catalogs that were created by you
    3. Choose your default catalog.
    4. In that select and delete all the folders except Breezedata and file with extension .pse8db
    5. Relauch your organiser and then check if its stil crashing.
    Thanks,

  • Itunes keeps crashing with Windows 8.1 and doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad to syn.  Frustrated!!!

    After new Itunes update ... it  keeps crashing with Windows 8.1 and doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad to syn.  Frustrated!!!  I have unninstalled it .. installed it, but nothing happens.  I even loaded an earlier itunes version, it worked without crashing, but it still did not recognize iphone or ipad.

    Do you get an error message when you try to launch iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • Itunes keeps crashing with windows 7

    iTunes 7 keeps crashing on windows 7. please help.

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • How to fix 12.1.1.4 iTunes keeps crashing on Windows 8.1

    How do I fix iTunes 12.1.1.4 which keeps crashing on Windows 8.1 (64 bit)?

    See HT203206: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.
    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
    The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Games keep crashing and NAT type isn't working in a party

    anyone elses games keep crashing and not working?

    Hi ,
    The issue may be because you are using paramvalue="element" .
    In the new jsp element may be referring to something else , due to nesting of droplets.
    its better to use elementName attribute :
    eg :
    You may be using like this :
    <dsp:droplet name="XYZ">
    <dsp:param name="inputparam" param="inputparam" />
    <dsp:oparam name="output">
    <dsp:droplet name="/atg/commerce/catalog/MediaLookup">
    <dsp:param name="id" value="defaultIMGProd"/>
    <dsp:setvalue param="media" paramvalue="element"/>
    <dsp:oparam name="output">
    <dsp:getvalueof var="imageURL" vartype="java.lang.String" param="media.url"/>
    <c:if test="${not empty imageURL}">
    <img height="80px" width="80px" src="${imageURL}"/>
    </c:if>
    </dsp:oparam>
    </dsp:droplet>
    </dsp:oparam>
    </dsp:droplet>
    Instead use like this :
    <dsp:droplet name="XYZ">
    <dsp:param name="inputparam" param="inputparam" />
    *<dsp:param name="elementName" value="mediaItem" />*
    <dsp:oparam name="output">
    <dsp:droplet name="/atg/commerce/catalog/MediaLookup">
    <dsp:param name="id" value="defaultIMGProd"/>
    *<dsp:setvalue param="media" paramvalue="mediaItem"/>*
    <dsp:oparam name="output">
    <dsp:getvalueof var="imageURL" vartype="java.lang.String" param="media.url"/>
    <c:if test="${not empty imageURL}">
    <img height="80px" width="80px" src="${imageURL}"/>
    </c:if>
    </dsp:oparam>
    </dsp:droplet>
    </dsp:oparam>
    </dsp:droplet>

  • Satellite M30 keeps crashing after reinstall and SP2

    hi,
    Can someone please help me. I'm having trouble with my Sat M30. It is 2 yrs old and I've never had problems with it before. However, I recently had a crash and decided to reinstall from the recovery CD. upon reinstallation, I tried downloading service pack 2 and my computer keeps crashing. I have not installed any other software and still keep having this problem. This is very strange since sp2 worked perfectly on my laptop until the recent crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've reinstalled now for the third time and am extremely frustrated.
    the error I recieved on crash was: ***stop: 0X000000f4 (0X00000003, 0X86152950, 0X86152Ac4, 0X805f9f88)
    thanks very much

    Hi
    Thats pity that it happens. Did you check the Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Update information on the Toshiba driver page? In the Sat M30 driver area you will find the document which describes what application must be updated to use the SP2.
    I would recommend firstly checking this sheet before starting any SP2 installations.

  • PageMaker keeps crashing in windows 8.1 (but worked fine in windows 8)

    I have been using PageMaker for years and years (since it was Aldus) and never had any problems with it [better the devil you know].
    I didn't think that it would work on my new laptop with 64bit Windows 8 - but it did - no problems.
    Now that the system has automatically been upgraded to Windows 8.1 the program keeps crashing unexpectedly. I can start a new file, save it and start to work on it , then the program crashes AND when I re-open it it cannot open the file that was previously saved to disk !
    Is there a fix or patch for this ?

    Ouch !
    I tried InDesign when it first came out. It was virtually unuseable. Pagemaker has been a good stalwart that WORKED (what a shock concept in toadys world).
    So - you buy a BMW and use it for a few months then, when it needs a service, you take it in to the garage and they say - Sorry the manufacturers no longer support this car. They are now manufacturing the Trabbant - you will have to buy one of those

  • Error : 148/3 under windows/XP SP2

    After the installation of FB4 beta, an error is posted: Error 148/3.
    Even after a recharging of windows/XP SP2, the inhibiting error remains.

    This may seem unrelated to your TypeError message, but see this Apple doc: MobileMe: Unable to add comments to blog pages, and follow the advice there about upgrading to the latest iWeb version, republishing your entire site and using me.com instead of mac.com to access your site.
    ...Doing the above has eliminated the TypeError message for others.

  • Windows access to APM / FAT32 partition

    If I partition my ext HDD (My Book Home 1TB) using Apple Partition Map (APM) and format one (of several) partitions as FAT32, will a Windows XP PC be able to find that partition?
    I want most of the drive for Mac backup and storage, but may want to use it to move files larger than my 1GB flash drive (but smaller than the 4GB FAT32 limit) or collections of many files from my Mac environment to somebody else's PC without any special software on the PC side.
    Thanks!

    Yes, the XP machine should be able to see the FAT32 partition.

  • How to do "save as" the old way?

    Mavericks' "Save As" is at best irritating for me.  Is there a way to change settings so that when I use "Save As" I get a new file saved as I want it while still having the original file unchanged?  I don't see the logic behind this new method.
