Games/Web Apps?

Are there any games on the iPod touch? Or these web apps I'm reading about, can you download those to your touch and use them like games or can u just get to them thru the internet?
Definitely needs to be games. What else will I do during lectures?

Pay attention!
But Web Apps are only available when you're online.
"Offline Games" aren't available yet, but they probably will be with time.

  • Creating An iPhone Web App

    I am creating a web app for the iPhone. The program I am trying to build, is an Inventory web app. I am trying to make the web app add, remove, and movie certain items to different rooms within this app. I know the task I am taking on is big, but I plan to learn. I new to programming. Can anyone help me threw the process.
    p.s.- I started up Dashcode, and starting using the browser template, and I managed to play around with that, But I need help.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I too would like to know this. As sometimes you can't go online, being able to create web apps that can be used offline, simple ones, like games maybe, that could be stored "locally" on the iPhone, or more appropriately the iPod Touch (Since it has no 3G and Wifi isn't everywhere) so you could use them when in an area without internet access.

  • Instructions How To Add Web Apps

    Can someone tell me how to add web apps like the games and flashlight. I'm having a mental block lol Theres no download button on the apple site or in itunes that ive found.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jraps39
    Currently there are 2 answers to this question.
    The first applies if your iPod touch hasn't been updated with the January Software Upgrade which you can purchase through the iTunes music store. If this is the case then there is no official supported way of adding buttons to your home screen to those web apps. You can however bookmark them in Safari.
    If you have downloaded the January Software Upgrade through the iTunes Music Store then you will be able to tap the plus sign in the middle of the button bar at the bottom of the webpage in Safari and it will give you the option to "Add to Home" which will add an icon to your home screen.
    Some users have found alternative methods that are unofficially supported and cannot be mentioned on this forum however I hope the above answers your question.

  • IGuitar? iPhone guitar? Is it a web app. or what...

    Ive seen lots of cool videos on youtube of people playing (iGuitar) or whatever the proper name is for it. And im wondering is that a web app. or an actual feature on the iPhone.. Im purchasing the iPhone soon so im still kind of clueless to lots of thing and im just wondering what it is/where you get it. if anyone has it i'd like some feedback on how it works and if you enjoy it. just seems like a cool little thing to do to pass time. A response would be greatt!

    Thanks a lot because i deffinatly didnt want to be wasting time looking for this app. when there isnt one. And hacking of the phone dont sound too safe, not worth it just for a little guitar game. Thanks again for the info!
    P.S. One more question, just for Sh*ts and Giggles. How/who hacks into an iPhone, i assume its not.. but is it safe or healthy for the iPhone? And i also assume it voids the warrenty too?

  • Whats The Best Web Apps?

    Just got my new iphone and wanted to knoe if antone could tell me some cool web apps.
    thanks

    WebApps is just a term the iPhone world made up. WebApps are just websites that one accesses via the browser. But instead of full websites, they are tailored to a task (Chat, game, To Do lists, etc) and they are formatted with iPhone specific syntax to appear good on the phone. They are nothing magical. So for the most part they are free. Now there are a few complex webapps that charge. As an example. There is a remote desktop controler app. One first has to install software on their computer. Then via the iphone they can access their computer from anywhere. They only give you a limited trial and you will have to pay if you want the software on the computer to keep working. But as mentioned, most are free. Some also may require you to sign up for an account that the maker of the webapp controls.

  • Confused about Web Apps and Applications in the iTune store

    I've noticed that some Apple web apps have been placed on the iTunes store (under Applications). Does this mean that eventually the iTunes store will replace the Apple Web Apps entirely or are we going to see a combo of both.
    iTunes Store seems a much better way to select, review and download/install applications for the iPhone or Touch, it's a drag to have to go to the Web Apps then to the store to see what's available, it would be great to consolidate that into one service.

    You mean it's a drag to click on the separate App Store icon on your iPod? It really just means you can't see songs AND games at the same time, if you're searching for something to buy. Doesn't seem that that should be too much of a hardship. But maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying.
    Oooh, maybe you mean that when you search in iTunes, you are finding some applications without having to click on the "App Store" link? It looks to me like all applications are available that way. They just give the separate link so you can all of the games at once - like the TV Shows and Movies links.
    But again, I feel like I may not be getting what you're saying.

    December 2014, Microsoft released a CU that blocked LWA and displayed "Google Chrome no longer supports Lync Web App":
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3025563 in preparation for Chrome blocking NPAPI plugins in January 2015.
    February 2015, Microsoft released a CU to bring back the functionality:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3038437 by working around the Chrome blocking of NPAPI plug-ins and prompting the user for an "External Protocol Request" acceptance.
    As of Chrome version 42 (April, 2015), the default setting is to disable NPAPI. Scott has a great blog posting about this and workarounds:

    The removal of NPAPI from Chrome was first announced in September 2013 and my understanding is the new Skype For Business Web App Plug-in doesn't use this API anymore. I've joined a few Microsoft meetings using the new Plug-in and have had no issues in Chrome.
    That being said, until the server product is released you can never be sure what will be included at RTM.

  • E61 Web app crashes

    Web app on E61 will not work...the error reads "web already in use!" when it's not. Help.

    If you mean with junk that there comes lot of meaningless characters to screen then the reason for this is in Opera's web servers. Those web servers probably haven't got correct mime type set up for that download file. For example if server has jar (java middlet) file and mime type set to forexample text/html then web browsers will try to display that file as html and not as downloadable jar file. By the way did you try to load actually Opera Mobile browser not the Mini browser. Because it seems that when tried to load the Opera Mobile (sisx installation) version from one of their servers there comes those character to screen. So this means that they haven't mapped correct mime type to their server for that *.sisx file.
    To that web in use problem. Some times when I have had these problems I have done these steps to get the problem away:
    - Booted the phone again?
    - If that didn't help then the one option is to reset the phone to factory settings meaning that all the data that have been saved to phone will be lost (web bookmarks, contacts, calendar, installed games and applications and etc..). To do this input the short cut code for factory settings restore *#7370# in phone idle state and give 12345 as Lock code or then if you have changed the code give that code instead. This prosess will restore original settings that were in phone when you purchased it.
    - If those won't help it might be that the phone needs new sw installation.

  • 3Gs crashes when using web apps

    3Gs, iOS 5.0.1. My phone crashes really quickly everytime I want to use an app that connects to the internet. Whether it be Safari, or a game, or a chat app, no matter what. If I accidently try to switch from one app to another (both web apps) it sure crashes the startup of the second app. After relaunch the app and a minute or so into it, the phone dies on me. Regardless battery reserve (even 90% is not enough) Restart the phone won't work unless attached to a charger. Being on WIFI postpones the effect, but it will happen eventually (rather quickly too).
    Quite annoying. Rumour has it that Apple knows this and an update is being developed, but that rumour has a beard already. When will this be fixed?
    PS I can't update my product description to 3GS, iOS 5.0.1 in this Apple website. The option iOS5 or iOS5.0.1 does not come up.....

    I'm having the same problem too, which is why I came here. I already did the hold the sleep button down, reset the phone, restore the phone from iTunes, but am still experiencing them SAME problems. I've removed some music and apps to see if it helps, and I have over 4.5 gigs left, but still it shuts down around 70 - 80% powered up, shuts down, goes to the screen that has an apple showing and then shuts down again. When I hit the power button or home button nothing happens for maybe if I'm lucky, 20 minutes, then I can enter my password but then it shows the battery almost dead and shuts off again. Mine is also 2 years old. I hope someone can offer some advice on what to do to fix it - or where to go to fix it. Thanks for sharing your problem.

  • Using Office Web Apps Server with SharePoint Foundation 2013

    I want to know whether I can configure Office Web Apps server to edit Excel documents on a SharePoint Foundation 2013 site.
    I came across a TechNet article that states that "When used together with SharePoint Server 2013, Office Web Apps Server provides updated versions of Word Web App, Excel Web App, PowerPoint Web App, and OneNote Web App".
    However, later in the same article, it states "If your organization licenses Office 2013 through a Volume Licensing program, you can enable Office Web Apps editing for SharePoint 2013 on-premises" (without mentioning Foundation or Server).

    Hi Lemesnil,
    The Office Web App server should support the Edit licenses for SharePoin Foundation 2013, Office Web App is free to
    download, you can also try installing and configuring in a test environment, see more from the below article applied to SharePoint Foundation 2013.

  • Web app security not working

    Hi,
    I am using WebLogic 8.1 platform. I am trying to create a very basic secure web

    I created an App and created a web project. In it, I deleted the controller, etc

  • Office Web Apps is not working

       Hi,
         We have tried to deploy Office Web Apps Server but, after a number of tests, we haven't been able to view PowerPoint presentations. We tested "everything" but it didn't work.
         Finally, to simplify and focus the problem, we just deployed Office Web Apps Server "on its own", that is: just Internal URL, HTTP, Open From URL Enabled and sharing docs from a shared folder in the same server. So we have:
         \\wacserver\share\<Docs> (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
         http://wacserver
         They work both "/hosting/discovery" and "/op/generate.aspx".
         If we try to view Excel doc, it works. If we try to view Word or PowerPoint, id doesn't work.
         For PowerPoint, it appears the PowerPoint Web Apps frame (FILE, START SLIDE SHOW, SLIDE - OF -, NOTES...) and, in the center, an animation
    "PowerPoint Web App .....". After a couple of minutes, it stops with "Either you've lost network connectivity or our server is to busy to handle your request".
         What we have seen from different sources:
    FIDDLER
    ======
         /op/view.aspx?... Response 200
         /p/PowerPointFrame.aspx?... Response 200
         /p/imagehandler.ashx?... Response 202
         13 petitions to /p/ppt/view.svc/jsonAnonymous/GetPresentation Response 200
    PROCESS MONITOR
    ==============
         There were some folders and registry keys Network Service was trying to access with ACCESS DENIED response. We gave it permissions and they disappeared.
         SYSTEM is trying to access some registry keys (SpellingWcfprovider.exe => HKU\S-1-5-18, ImagingService.exe => HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options, and 2 or 3 more). It gets an ACCESS DENIED
    but SYSTEM, we have checked, has "Full control" permissions in those keys or folders.
         These errors appear by Office Web Server running itself, although we are not making a PowrPoint file request.

         The cache folder has enough disk size and PowerPoint.pptx file is just 30 KB.
         It repeats this flow 3 times (as for the first HTTP requests).
         During the 2 minutes test (until it fails) there are 14 traces like:
    Failed to create process object for pid 7780 with exception System.ArgumentException: Process with an Id of 7780 is not running.     at System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcessById(Int32 processId)     at Microsoft.Office.Web.Common.RequestPipe.ProcessManager.TryGetProcessObject(Int32
    pid).
         We have tried a number of things but none has worked. The farm has just one server and it says ist's unhealthy. We have Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. We have read some ways to fix the health, like HTTP Activation feature, but it only works
    for Windows Server 2012 as fas as we know.
         Has anybody experienced something like this or have a posible solution? Office Web Apps Server should be so easy to deploy but we have spent a lot of time with this.
         Thank you very much. Your help will be very appreciated.
         Kind regards.

    Hi John,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you cannot view the PowerPoint files in Office Web Apps in SharePoint.
    Was there any error when you view the PowerPoint files in Office Web Apps?
    You can troubleshoot the error following the link below:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff431687.aspx#tshoot
    I also recommend to re-configure SharePoint to use the Office Web Apps Server to see if the issue still occurs.

  • Possible to have two login configs in same web app?

    Sorry for not having tried this first, my server and webapp are in a state
    of flux at this moment, but I wanted to see what the consensus is out there,
    not just whether I can or cannot make something work quickly.
    If I have two types of things that might be called in my Web App (WAR) in
    different ways (eg, browser accessing via HTTP by users that want to login
    via pretty forms, and SOAP clients that may access functionality through the
    same servlets (but with alternate Servlet Path Info after the servlet name
    in the URL)), is there ANY way I can have multiple login configs, each tied
    to a different security constraint within that web app?
    In other words, with a servlet of /frazzleblitz and security constraints
    like:
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>Foo</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/frazzleblitz/doFooBar</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>FoobarBrowserUsers</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    and the SOAP constraint (for all users of incoming SOAP requests):
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>Foo</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/frazzleblitz/doFooBar</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>FoobarBrowserUsers</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    where my frazzleblitz controller knows whether the incoming request is
    browser vs SOAP based by the path info after the servlet name
    Can I associate the first security constraint with a FORM based login
    config, and the second security constraint with a BASIC AUTH login config
    since I could in theory require SOAP clients to send in credentials in a
    HTTP BasicAuth header, but I can't expect a SOAP client to be HTTP
    Redirected to a login form and then to enter the right credentials into a
    user type form and then be redirected back to an app...
    Seems to me the J2EE Security spec is really lacking in the area of
    programmatic authentication (allowing my SOAP code to get credentials out of
    the request envelope and call an API to login myself). Yeah, WebLogic has
    the ServletAuthentication weak() API, but these apps need to be J2EE
    compliant and work across J2EE servers... Anybody know of any improvements
    coming in the J2EE security space to address such functionality needs?
    Thanks in advance
    Mike

    Sorry, hit send accidentally before finishing the second security
    constraint - I've fixed it up below to reflect what I meant...

    Hello.
    I have error while creating office web apps fars.

    It says this:
    New-OfficeWebAppsFarm : The term 'New-OfficeWebAppsFarm' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script

    so what's the problem?

    That is an error I would expect with the account running the cmdlet not having local administrator rights to the server.
