Gaming graphic glitch - fps and refreshing problem?

So I'm recently having some strange issues with gaming graphics (Skyrim and Witcher 2). Whenever I try to run them, the screen starts glitching and refreshing, making the game unplayable. I already installed the newest drivers and checked installed programs compatibility.
Working on HP Envy-m6 1200

Hi @Beisa ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY m6-1200 Notebook and issues with RPG gaming site. Seems that the game uses Direct X control. Make sure all update have been done to the Notebook.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system.
Have you tried a different Browser?
Here is a link to the Skyrim FAQ's. Here is the one for Witcher 2. These could have issues as they were created for Windows 7.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

  • While gaming graphics get scrambled and Satellite A200-1j0 freezes

    Hi,
I have a major graphics problem with my notebook. Its a Satellite A200-1j0 with HD 2600 running vista 32bit.
When I run a game the graphics get scrambled and the nb freezes.
I have been using the nb for casual gaming since i bought it (1 year ago) with no problems.
But some days ago, a couple of games (hl2, far cry 2) started freezing my system rarely and at random times.
Today, I updated the drivers from the Toshiba site and it got worse.
It now happens in almost every game, and as soon as graphics appear after the loading screens.
    Windows run without problems though.
Here are some photos of the notebook when the graphics get scrambled

My first thought would be a faulty VGA Card, especially considering you are using the proper Toshiba Display Drivers.
I would update the BIOS and see how that goes.
Then reinstall Windows using the Recovery Disc to ensure its not a software problem (maybe DirectX is corrupted?).
Otherwise, send it to an ASP for repairs.

  • Graphical Glitches- Safari and movies and beyond

I visited the Apple homepage today and watched the Quicktime ad for the MacBook Air. As it ended and the movie transitioned with the gradient field behind it, where multiple views of the Air could be chosen, there were black blocks that would flicker in and out during the transition. The same blotchy graphics occurred when switching between the different views of the Air. These glitches occurred when any image was opened in it's own browser window/tab as well. I also noticed on different websites and particularly long listed sites, like the support forums, that text would become "displaced," like pieces of graphics were copied over, duplicated and slightly off from where they should align with other text. I thought it was just a Safari issue but the glitchy text was also occurring in Mail and even the Finder. I had to restart to get it to stop duplicating and shifting text. I haven't had the black blocks occur again. Thought maybe it was a Flash issue but got more concerned when I began affecting apps beyond Safari. A graphics card issue, perhaps?
I hadn't noticed any of this before the Leopard Graphics Update a few days ago and it doesn't happen at all on my other Macs, just the Santa Rosa MacBook Pro (my other, older MacBook Pro has no issues with it). I was having that black screen after sleep issue that's been mentioned and think I've got that squared away only to find this issue.

Other topics about this very thing have stated that the problem only occurred when the MacBook Pro was running on battery power. I don't remember that being the case for me. It was after the graphics update so I'm wondering if that was the cause. It was said this issue was even seen on machines running Windows via BootCamp. But this only effects my newest MBP, not the older Core2Duo model. Some have said that the recent release of the Safari update cleared things up for them. I haven't installed it yet and still wonder why one Mac out of six I use only have suffered the issue.
I'm updating now to actually admit that after posting this topic that I've yet to have another problem with it, Safari, Mail, Finder or anywhere else.

  • The links and refresh problems

    Dear Friends,
I have a problems in my JSP code. In an session, I read a set of data into a Vector, display it by a table. The two JSP pages (A and B pages) are linked each other.
If I load B page through A page (link) it is fine, but if I reload A pape through B page, all of data display in a table is displaced twice. For example,
    original in A page
    1 a
    2 b
    3 c
    will be changed into
    1 a
    2 b
    3 c
    1 a
    2 b
    3 c
However if I manually refreshed it, the A page will correctly display again.
I am very confused. I removed all of elements from the vector. I can not find any reason on it.
Any person can give me some hints? Thank you very much.

  • Session and Refresh problem, Urgent, please help

              Hi, Dear Everyone:
I have two questions to ask. (Environment: OS: Nt4.0, Server: Weblogic5.1)
(1). When I use session to store an object in servlet (processed results
from database) then dispatch to a jsp page to display the results, I got the following

(2). If I changed to use request.setAttribute in servlet, it works. But I got another
              strange
result from browser. That is, if I keep on clicking refresh (IE5.5), the same result
              appending
the previous one on the same page.

                        out.println(sq.getTitle());
                   else

Please explain it to me why that and how to fix it. I appreciate it very much.

  • 2009 27" 11,1 iMac graphics glitches bars and lime green circle

The last few weeks my iMac has been glitching every so often. It starts with a minor glitch usually wherever I'm using the mouse in a menu or selecting something and from there it mutilates everything I click on or switch to, even entire windows of applications become a complete mess of unrecognisable gibberish images.
If I then power down and restart I get a large, lime green oval in the centre of the screen on a grey background and other than the clock, almost nothing else even shows up on the menu bar or anything else, just grey with large bars running down the screen like the ones I've linked to here:
    http://i.imgur.com/8z79nte.png
    http://i.imgur.com/SRivY2e.png
If I boot into safe mode then I only seem to get the bars but everything else works ok. Previous to this most recent event, I had booted into safe mode and it had somehow fixed the problem. I rebooted into normal mode and went about my business.
I really hope this is some sort of fixable problem as I really can't afford a new computer or even to replace an expensive part

As babowa points out, the images you have linked to are just a white square and a black square. If you have screenshots showing the problem, you can add them to a post here by using the camera icon in the toolbar.
What you describe certainly sounds like a hardware issue. I would recommend contacting Apple for evaluation and service. You could make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your nearest Apple Store for that purpose.
Note that 53° C is not at all a concerning temperature, and also note that using SMC Fan Control is a bad idea. You should not tamper with the fan speed. If there is a cooling problem (which, again, is not indicated here), that would be a hardware issue that needs to be addressed by a hardware fix, not a software Band-Aid that could make the problem worse by preventing the fans from working as designed by Apple's engineers.

  • Macbook pro (2010) having graphical glitches after Mavericks update

    What is your take?
graphical glitches appear and disappear randomly. Didn't have them before Mavericks update!
Thanks a lot for the help

15” MBP Mid 2010 models have been recalled for GPU issues.  See https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5681.
    Official Apple statement: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088
Print out a copy of your kernel panic and a copy of this Knowledge Base article and go to an Apple store or Apple Authorizes Service Provider with your machine and the documentation.
    Genius reservation http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ .
or find an Apple Authorized Service Provider https://locate.apple.com/country
If it has been three years since your date of purchase then you are past the date covered by the recall but sometimes they honor it anyway.

  • Freezing Macbook Pro. Graphical glitches and occasional 3 tones on start up. Hardware test shows no errors. Is it RAM or a graphics card on the way out, or software?

Recently my MacBook Pro has been freezing and showing bad graphical glitches. Multiple restarts eventually fix it and a couple of times the three tones break, three tones break warning has occurred on start up. From what I can find this is usually a RAM error but after doing a hardware check I get the response all is OK. This still happens after the check and I am unsure what the problem could be. Can anyone help? Could it be a memory issue, a hard drive issue, Graphics card issue (drivers are up to date) or is something up with the software. I also have a Bootcamp partition running Windows 7 too and this is a problem that presents itself there too.

    Most likely to be RAM:
    Beeps on startup:
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images.
5 beeps = processor is not usable

I would suggest you take it to an Apple Store for a free diagnostic.

  • Crashes, graphics glitches, and more crashes when editing video clips

Can't for the life of me figure out why PE keeps crashing on me, so I'm here for help.
My system consists of a i7-970 hexacore, 6GB ram, 1x 500GB os drive, 3x500gb raid 0 drives (this is where my video clips are stored), 2x GeForce GTX460 video cards.
OS is Windows 7 Profressional 64 bit.
The video files I work with are generally in the 50-200GB size.
A little background - the videos that I am working with are recordings from Battlefield Bad Company 2 that I have recorded with some capture software called Dxtory.
I record at 1920x1080 at 60 FPS to avi files.  The avi files are using the "xtor" codec (Dxtory's own codec)
    [ISFT]    DxtoryCore ver2.0.0.101
[ISRC]    Video:YUV420 Audio:Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Audio is PCM 192000Hz recorded in stereo.
Let me start by saying I have not had trouble with this before until I started recording the videos at 60 FPS.  30 FPS worked ok (some crashes here and there, but they were bearable), but the frequent crashes started happening when I started working with the 60 FPS videos, done mainly so I could play around with slowing the clips down, etc.
Sometimes I can open and edit clips just fine.
Recently, a project that I'm working on is crashing when I try putting two different clips from different files together on the time line.  I managed to get it to work once, and saved the project after that.  Then, PE crashed randomly and when trying to reopen the project, it just crashes and won't let me get any further.
I should mention the graphics glitches as well - occasionally (especially when previewing video clips before adding them to the timeline) after I close the preview window, the graphics in PE will glitch out, causing random lines to appear in certain areas, graphics to stack on top of eachother and freeze up, and sometimes I can click on the "play" button in the main project window and hear everything start playing, but the graphics are completely screwed up to the point where I can't view the video or hit the pause button.
All of my computer hardware is fine, all drivers, and PE, are up to date.
Can someone please help me figure out what is going on?  I'll be happy to provide any more information that might help out.

The most likely issue is the codec that your program is using the create your video. It's apparently not compatible with Premiere Elements.
This often happens also when people try to record their on-screen video with FRAPS.
You'll see lots of discussions on this issue in the Premiere Pro forum. However, it's even more pronounced in Premiere Elements, which is designed to work almost exclusively with camcorder video.
Some video programs are a little more versatile with this type of video. Some people have found Corell's Video Studio better at handling these non-traditonal formats.
But I did a Google search on Dxtory editing and couldn't find any information on it.
Sorry I can't offer a solution. But I can pretty much assure you that Premiere Elements isn't it. sorry.

  • 'Normal use' ok ; Gaming = Graphics 'snow' and then Screen Freezes

    History is that I'm a PC convert from Nov 05, and happy with the move. Played Civ IV and WoW without problem until around Nov 06. Then Civ IV started crashing; Screen got 'snowy' graphics and then froze. Was within warranty at that stage . Lesson to be had here in extended warranty. Didn't make much of this because I was finished with these games anyway, and 'normal' applications and internet etc use have been fine all along & still are, so just stopped gaming. Now (Feb) decided to get back into WoW. Same 'snow' and 'freeze' problem when open this game, as well as Civ IV, including after reloading software. There is no error message, just the freeze and the 'multi-coloured circle of death'! Things I've tried;
    - Apple Software update
    - Apple extended Hardware test; passed all
    - Clean re-load of all software
    - Reset the PRAM
    - Minimised the performance settings for WoW, including running in a window; this has extended time before crash from a few seconds to up to several minutes. Not long enough to get to lvl 70!
    - Checked that my model doesn't fall under any extended warranty's!
    - Downloaded and run 'Rember' = "All tests passed."
    - Downloaded 'latest' ATI Radeon drivers from their web (were very old & not a direct match so not sure that this was of any use)
Below is 'stuff that might be helpful', including the log!
Idea's anyone? If it's something wrong with the graphics card then I'd like to know 'for sure' before forking out for a replacement. Other stuff to try?
    Thanks, Mike

Yes, it smells like the video card, because it only crashes when running the high-end graphics. Presumably this is because only the games use the video card; if it were another piece of hardware then normal applications would crash too. And because I've done a clean software reload it shouldn't be a software problem.
However, I'd still have liked some greater certaintly before replacing the video card, e.g. some type of hardware test. I don't want to replace the card and then find that I've still got the same problem.
I don't get a grey crash screen, it's just stuck on the distorted last screen shot, with the twirling multi-coloured circle. Then when I turn off the mac it goes black.
Know of some way to 'test' the video card?

  • Graphic glitch and freezing.

I had a graphic problem with my iMac 3 weeks ago, had to take it to an Apple repairer 3 hours away, there just isn't anyone closer, and have had it back for about 6 hours now. I got the Snow Leopard upgrade while it was away and have been looking forward to getting into it all. As soon as I got my iMac home I fired it up and straight away noticed a graphic glitch or something odd on my 2nd monitor, kinda looked like aliens from space invaders... This problem went away if I changed that monitors resolution or if I rotated the display, so I thought it might be a driver problem which should hopefully be fixed by upgrading to SL.
I attempted this upgrade, it seemed to go fine but when I finally got into SL I noticed that once again there were some space invader glitches, but instead of being huge and all the way across the 2nd monitor they were in 2 separate blocks 1 in the top left and one just slightly to the right from center at the very top, they were flashing green from time to time (just like before) but that was about all. After a few seconds all the icons on my desktop and also the dock icons screwed up, display as black and white lines, or weird colored blocks, or super pixelated and just pretty screwy.
I formatted from fresh doing Leopard (without updating fully to 10.5.8) then installing SL, same problem, I then tried installing just SL which worked as usual but still had the graphic glitches when hovering over or interacting this time, also there were some problems with the glitches showing over windows (I'll put a link to a screenshot of them at the end). I'm currently updating a fresh install of Leopard to 10.5.8 to then update to SL to see if that works.
I had a thought that it might be hardware, the logic board and graphics card were both replaced during the repair time, they said they tested it but on the repair form I got it just says 'restarted a few times with no problems' so I'm not sure if they even tested it very much.
It took almost 3 weeks to get my mac back today, and these problems are quite annoying, if I have to lose it for another 3 weeks because of this lack of testing I'm gonna be rather annoyed as I'm losing work because of it.
Anyone got ideas of what it might be? or just anyone else had this problem with SL or just Leopard? Any information would be great.
Screenshot of glitch while doing a google search:
    http://www.xager.net/i/glitch.jpg

My old first gen macbook pro had a similar problem (under Tiger and Leopard), it was fixed. My current unibody macbook pro is doing this as well, I've only noticed it now under Snow Leopard.
I doubt it's a software problem, I've had similar issues in PCs when their video cards were running too hot. My current mbp gets these glitches when the system is under more load and so I'm sure its heat related. One time the heat and glitches got so bad the system just locked up.
I hope you can get your system repaired. I am going to now go ahead and try my luck with apple support as well.

  • IMac (24" Aluminium, Mid 2008) Freezing and Graphical Glitches

    Hi all,
I'm having to write this on my MacBook as my iMac developed serious problems yesterday evening. Nothing new has been installed recently, and I was just listening to music on iTunes when I noticed that my iMac seemed to have frozen, although music was still playing. After the song finished it switched to the next track, but I could not control anything. The screen developed graphical glitches in the form of a lot of speckles. All I could do was hold in the button on the back and turn it off.
I've tried turning it on a few times today and the problem still persists. I've tried resetting the PRAM but that hasn't fixed it. Myself and my housemate seem to think it's a graphics card issue (NVidia GeForce 8800GS), but the problem doesn't occur when booted in Safe Mode and also doesn't occur when in Windows XP under boot camp. My iMac is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and I have no idea why this has suddenly happened. I swear this has happened once before, but I think the PRAM reset was what I did back then and it worked.
A few weeks ago I upgraded the iMac from 2GB RAM to 4GB RAM but it's been absolutly fine until now. Could a RAM issue be to blame for this, and could it take so long to suddenly emerge?
Thanks in advance for and help or insight anyone could offer. I know there are a lot of posts about this but I know some symptoms are slightly different so I wanted this post to be specific to my case.

+I guess the big question is whether the iMac dvi port is output and input.+
Output only on that model iMac. You'd best borrow a real monitor for initial configuration of the Mini. Once it is configured and you've turned on Screen Sharing, you can access the Mini remotely from the iMac.

  • 1st gen Mac Pro graphics glitches and unresponsive

I'm not sure if this is related to
    a) Snow Leopard
    b) Safari 5
    c) something else
but after recent updates I get graphics glitches, such as in Safari, lines across the browser window, not on particular content, it might be pure HTML (the old kind) and can be flash, or multimedia...
When using Final Cut (6) I get some weird graphics related errors from time to time, and after hours of editing suddenly my computer stops, becomes "frozen" (I have the clock in the menu bar set to show seconds and they stop) I have to do a hard-reboot to get anything back.
And the thing that happened now, which makes me post this thread is I was doing some web development, while watching some iTunes U movies, suddenly I had green graphical artifacts over the screen(s) and the computer froze.
Is anyone else out there experiencing this, perhaps found the source of the problem ?
My console reports 2 things that doesn't seem too "serious" TimeMachine finished doing a backup successfully and mDNSresponder got a "Bad DDNS browsing domain: (unknown)" just before the latest break down.

Sorry you're having this issue. It is a common issue and I have it as well. I ended up replacing my card which fixed the problem but, after 6 months, the problem is back.
There is something nasty with the Mac Pro's and graphic cards it seems. My first card was a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT and now I'm having trouble with the ATI Radeon HD 2600.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of the problem... no luck so far... I'm not interested in replacing the card if it's going to happen again 6 months down the road and I'm not interested in buying a new computer either.
    Any luck with your problem?
    Saki

  • Graphical Glitches on Macbook Pro, Reinstalled and still there...

Over the past few months, I have been getting some graphical glitches on my Macbook Pro. Recently, They've been occuring more frequently. I've reinstalled Leopard and they are still occuring.
Since I've gotten this Macbook Pro, It's had the Superdrive replaced, Battery replaced, Magsafe connector replaced, charger replaced, logic board replaced, keyboard replaced, top bezel/trackpad replaced, and the airport card replaced, all to fix various issue's. I've tried to get apple to replace it since it's obviously a lemon but to no avail, even though I purchased AppleCare. This is my second Macbook Pro. Anyways, I've taken screenshots of the problems that randomly occur.

You really need to call Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775 instead of AppleCare. Just tell them what you stated in your post.
Be firm but polite when requesting a replacement.
