Gaming on virtual PC 7 update

Hey,
Does anyone know if the new update supports 3D graphics? I'm interested in gaming on my MacG5, but the vpc7 didn't support 3D, only 2D. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Virtual ESA appliance update and upgrade using static method

What are the static servers for updates and upgrading if you are using a virtual appliance ?
I know that the if you use a standard appliance they are:
    downloads-static.ironport.com: 208.90.58.105 on port 80
    update-manifests.ironport.com: 208.90.58.5 on port 443
    updates-static.ironport.com: 208.90.58.25 on port 80
But I see that my virtual appliance is trying to go to "update-manifests.sco.cisco.com"   - are there other differences for the virtual appliance ?

Yes, I can confirm through my own experiences over the past week that the Virtual Appliances do not use the same update servers.
Virtual Appliances point to dynamichost update-manifests.sco.cisco.com - 208.90.58.6. I'm not sure about the static update IPs, as the static sub domains do not seem to exist on the sco.cisco.com and it looks like Cisco is using Akamai CDN to distribute updates over port 80. You may need to allow iyour Virtual ESAs out on port 80 any, and 443 seems to be a single host.

  • C7000 & Virtual Connect FW update problem.

    Hi,
I'm trying to update the firmware on some modules in my C7000 chassis.  The following are currently installed with firmware versions as stated.
    Onboard Administrator - 3.21
    HP 1/10Gb-F VC-Enet Module - 1.34
HP Virtual Connect 4Gb FC Module - 1.41
I'm trying to use the VCSU 1.70 to update the firmware to 3.51.  When I attempt the upgrade, it reports that there are problems with the HP Virtual Connect 4Gb FC Modules.  Status is reported as "Ip Connectivity: Unable to communicate with bay".  I am able to ping the individual HP Virtual Connect 4Gb FC Modules, so I'm not sure why this is happening.  I've re-seated the all the modules including the Onboard administrator.
I noticed that in Firmware 1.34, there's a "Firmware Management" option in the Virtual Connect Manager web interface.  Should I use this instead to upgrade the firmware?

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums, since this is a commercial product. You can click here for the link.

  • MSI R9 290 Gaming 4G - BSOD - needs Bios update?

Since installing this card I keep getting BSOD at random times, usually during gaming.
I have 800w PSU, and the system was totally stable until adding this card. Latest ATI drivers 14.9 Win 7 64bit.
I want to try updating the GPU BIOS but can't find any on the support page on MSI website..
I have saved the GPU BIOS as a file "Hawaii.rom" using GPU-Z and I have my S/N for the card.. what do I do next?
Btw... Live update 6 doesn't even start it just crashes so can't use that.

  • Arch won't boot on Virtual Box afted updating

I instaled Arch as guest on Vbox, after updating, it won't boot any more. It prints the message "Loading udev...SCSI subsystem initialized" and then the VM crash and the window is inmediately closed.
I searched on the Vbox forum and others have the same problem.
    See: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. … 890#p83890
Probably is an issue with Arch, because a clean install from core iso does work, but does not after updating.

What do you mean under updating ? pacman -Syu ? And what packages was installed?
Isn't there any virtualbox log or something ?

  • Z97 Gaming 7 failed A-BIOS update

Hello, first of all i would like to apologize for my terribly English...
I can`t boot my computer after "A bios" upgrade (v1.1 to v1.5) via M-Flash. "B bios" is working normally.
Now, if I boot computer with A bios it nothing shows on a monitor and HDD led is lights up constantly.
I tried to repair "A bios" using M-Flash/Select  one file to update  BIOS, but it did not help. I have got a message - "Bios file selected could only update BIOS and cannot update ME!! If you just want to update bios, please go to "Select one file to update BIOS" or select another Bios file with ME to use this function".
Question: where i can download - "bios file with ME"?
Then I tried to repair "A bios" using  >> the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<< . It still didn`t help.
Unfortunately I can`t attach a picture, but there it is written - "ROM file ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS ROMID" and then - "BIOS update FAILURE!!"
May be, with compatible bios version, it would have been more successful...
In sum... the A bios is not working and I don`t know what to do. Only hope for your help))

  • Update issues when ESA Virtual replacing C170 Appliance in Cluster Config

I have opened a TAC ticket on this one but was curious if any others experienced the same issue.
I have C170s in Centralized ClusterConfig. I recently learned about the Virtual ESAs after reading about the EOL for C170s in a few years. I think the Virtual ESAs will add a lot of flexibility. The only issue I've noticed was trying to join Virtual ESAs to our Cluster are updates so far.
The first virtual ESA I brought up I was able to initially update it so it could join the cluster. I thought maybe I messed up the network config somewhere. So after messing with it over the Weekend and opening a TAC case with Cisco. I thought I would try configuring the second Virtual ESA. Sure enough updates are working, and no errors. Hooked it up enough to do some quick testing to make sure the listeners were working. Feeling pretty good about it, I join the cluster. Everything copied over configuration wise, I also setup a new ClusterGroup for the Virtual ESAs so I could customize the listeners and interfaces. Before I got too crazy I quickly realized that my updates stop working on the second virtual appliance.
So just curious if there are some configuration compatibility issues between appliance hardware and Virtual we should be aware of. I found some great information from the Forums about forcing updates and reading the tail of the updater_logs, which produced the following:
Info: Dynamic manifest fetch failure: Received invalid update manifest response
I found the fix for non-cluster configured Virtuals for this Update error:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/email-security-appliance/118065-maintainandoperate-esa-00.html
But  this does not for for clusterconfig.
So is my best course of action to:
run the clusterconfig on one of my virtuals,
Remove Virtual from ClusterConfig after config is migrated
Apply CLI fix to point post-cluster config Virtual so it now points to the right update servers
Create new cluster with the now fully Updating Virtual-Uno ESA
Join Remaining virtuals to the newly created cluster and phase out the old physical cluster?
Obviously I left out all the fine details about MX records, IP addresses, Central Reporting and Spam and outbreak reporting. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something, maybe tare down the old clusterconfig first, set it to point to the update servers in the article above. Then I can phase out my old physicals later on down the line as they break down over time and avoid configuring two clusters for every rule change.

So it looks like I have found the answer to my own question. Looks like the fix in the following article does apply to Virtual ESA in a cluster.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/email-security-appliance/118065-maintainandoperate-esa-00.html
Some things I'd like to figure out is, will this change stick, will new virtual nodes pick up the incorrect update URL when I join them to the cluster? I made the changes and all my hosts seem to be updating fine. Will wait and see how well they do over the next few days and let them bake in a little before I push e-mail through them.

  • Virtual Machine Additions in Virtual PC for Mac 7.0.2

I'm also new to Virtual PC for Mac and will try some of the suggestions for speeding it up; it is painfully slow. However, I have another but related question.
I keep getting a prompt when I boot Windows XP Prof. and it opens Virtual. It tells me that after I see my Windows desktop, I should install and update Virtual Machine Additions from the PC Menu. My problem is, I can't figure out how to do that. When I'm in Windows, I've explored everything I can find......Menu...Control Panel...Applications, but I can't find anything that shows Virtual PC running so I can't get to the menu that should take me to updates. When I open just Virtual from my Mac desktop (w/o opening Windows) it checks for updates on Virtual PC for Mac but not Virtual Machine Updates. Neither can I find anything on Machine Updates when I search Apple or this support site. When I search Yahoo, it says I have to be running it to update....kind of full circle with it.
Can anyone help re: how to do Virtual Machine Addition Updates? Thanks.

Oops...tried it again..new problem. When I open Virtual, this is the message I get. When I boot from Windows it works........
    "OS not found
Install an OS on this hard drive
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device"
Think I'll uninstall and re-install e'thing from the Virtuall PC for Mac CD. Hate to do it.......just spent a long time y'day doing 17 security updates.
Maybe reinstalling I'll be able to do Machine updates.
    Thanks for the help.

  • X99A Gaming 7 vs X99A SLI Krait

I can't find a difference other than color.  Are there any other differences between these two motherboards?
Oddly enough, both work with my color scheme, (Black/Red/White).  I noticed the Krait retails slightly cheaper.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'll compile a list of differences as they are reported.
    1) Color (Gaming 7 Red/Black)(Krait White/Black)
    2) Gig Ethernet (Gaming 7 Killer)(Krait Intel)

Wow, thank you for the comprehensive list.  Given the small difference in price, I ordered the X99A Gaming 7 Motherboard.
Edit/Update:  It doesn't look like i have the ability to edit my first post so i won't be updating the initial list.  I doubt there are any other differences than what you highlighted so their being on the second entry shouldn't be a problem.
    Once again thanks.

  • Audigy SE Unable to Update to Latest Driv

    Hi there
I recently purchased an Audigy SE for gaming and when attempting to update the drivers the process fails. I have to alt ctrl del to get out of it (which was okay once, but the second time gave me the blue screen of death requiring me to remove the card, uninstall etc)
The reason why I can't update is quite simple. When the update runs, it is full screen. Behind this full screen is the usual microsoft window saying the driver isn't signed and asking whether I want to stop or continue the installation. Because it is behind the screen, I cannot access it. I minimize the install screen and its not there. I can see that its there only after I end the process for the install, at which point the driver signing window will appear. Its as if it minimizes with the install, and doesn't have a window of its own on the taskbar (they never do)
How can I work around this? My current drivers are behind the times for the game I play (WoW) and frankly the game sounds terrible because of their implementation of some shoddy sound system.
Thanks in advance for your help. I'm imagining its just a simple keypress to bring the other window to the front and I'm done, however I don't know how to do this.
Edit: ANother oddity I have found with the card is that the outputs are reversed. I actually had to reverse the RCA cables on my speakers to red for left and white for right (the opposite of my other two cards) - just a weird sort of nuisance that maybe is pointing out a larger problem I'm not seeing.Message Edited by dextermeth on 02-9-2008:6 PM

Interestingly the windows update drivers rolled back when I restarted my PC? Not sure why. However, I found a workaround which is pretty obvious. When running the installer, when the updating windows settings stalls, hit alt+tab and the driver signing window will come to the foreground, click continue, voila.
I still have no explanation as to why my outputs are reversed on this card though. Maybe that is just human error when they were soldering this particular card? I dunno. Easy enough to work around as long as I am conscious of it.Message Edited by dextermeth on 02-22-20082:00 PM

  • Need help with 'Virtual Controll'

I have a Document Class Called Main, Im not used to using classes and document classes ect. So im making a racing game for Ipad. So i need virtual controls so the user can operate the automobile.
So within this class i have a function that controlls the player by key input.. (See code below)
The problem is, i went on the internet and found a 'virtual controll' for the movement. But i am unsure as how to implement it - The link (http://blog.flashgen.com/gaming/general-gaming-articles/virtual-controllers-for-touch-base d-devices-pt-2/)
The file comes with two things, a Fla, and a ThumbStick.as, the thumbstic as is a document class its self so i can't have two document classes. I really need this to work as the project is due soon. (I will attach the thumbstick.as code below aswell)
HERE IS THE CODE THAT ALLOWS THE PLAYER TO MOVE.

Edit, Thumbstick.as is not a document class it is a as file attahced to the actual graphic in the library. I guess the real problem (Besided adding it to my existing code) is adding it to the stage, as all my content for the game is added through code.

  • Can't install MSI Live Update for new bios

    Hi all,
sad to say, I too have the problem of MSI Live not installing.
Just bought a GTX 970 Gaming 4G and the Live update says "this platform is not supported". I tried the version from the disc and the version offered by the MSI support site. Both led to the same experience.
Would be great if you could help me out checking my bios and providing me with the newest one if needed.
(Instructions would be great though too )
    S/N: 602-v316-050B1501006790

Thank you for the information flobelix!
Whats bothering me now is the Live update.
Can I ignore that or should i wait for a new version?
    Additional info:
    Netframework 4.5.2 is installed.
Board: ASRock ZH77 Pro3, latest bios installed.

  • Older Ipod Touches deserve the same update treatment!

So my son has an ipod 2G... he loves it and uses it all the time! It is still in mint condition. Now the problem I am having, is that he is coming across more and more apps that won't let him download because he needs iOS 4.3. He can't upgrade his ipod touch past a 4.2.1. I understand that newer, bigger, better ipods have taken over, but can someone please explain why ipods all have different updates? Or why he loses apps he had because their updated version now requires an updated version his ipod can't get? Because I can tell you, the camera I bought in 2004 can still be used on every computer, and prints on every printer... all of our older gaming consoles still work without updates, and some of our newer consoles play the games of those older consoles. But this ipod is well on it's way to uselessness. I paid good money for this and feel like it doesn't matter, too bad, so what if l it is still in good condition, give us more money for a new one. I can tell you this- I WILL NOT be buying another one in the future!! Either that, or Apple needs to come up with some sort of trade-in incentive. Am I the only one angry that this is happening?

The older iPods do not have the hardware to be compatible with the later versions of the iOS.
The 2G only has 128 MB of memory while the 5G has 512 MB.

This cannot continue as gaming is virtually impossible
I want to know why im paying more money for infinity to recieve a poorer service

Do you have any wireless devices connected to your router when you're playing?
If possible, when you experience these huge ping spikes can you quickly access your router and turn the wireless off from within the settings and see if your ping improves.
I'm asking this because I started getting huge ping spike of up to 500ms and incredible outbound packet loss up to 70% which rendered games like Battlefield 3 unplayable (Rubberbanding like crazy...) and found out that turning off the wireless fixed the issue.
I managed to narrow it down to my Sister's iPad 3. For some reason whenever she browses with safari it causes my connection to go haywire.
Just a suggestion, might be worth trying.
