Gantt chart -possible options with Flex

Hello,
I am looking for doing a chart which has the following
options:
Pl. see the diagram I could not represent it clearly since
attachment is not allowed here.
1) Time Duration in the Left Axis and Labels listed in the
Top Axis.
2) Horizontal and vertical scrolling of Chart should be
possible.
3) I have a requirement of displaying some details inside the
bar displayed for TASKS. Is that possible? or Will i be able to
give a link from the tasks?
4) I must be able to specify the task for a range of tasks
and for a range of time period as depicted in the picture above. Is
that possible?
Thanks
kk

There are a couple of Gannt chart components available,
including this one:

  • Gantt Chart Shows Months With Nothing in it Requiring User to Scroll to Dates

I have a task list with a filtered list of dates that all fall in October yet the Gantt chart starts in April. Thus a user has to scroll all the way over to the far right to see any of the active tasks in the list. Is there a solution for this? Am I missing
some basic setting? I also don't see the "You are here" date line. I am on SharePoint 2013 0365.
    Thanks!

    Hi ,
You can click the ribbon button "Zoom Out" under list tab to show a larger time increment on the time scale, then it should show the whole task bar and status without scrolling to the right.

  • Resource Gantt Chart - Error : Resourse with same ID "%1" already exists

    Hi,
I have a requirement to have multiple periods per resource.
I have implemented the example in http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:60. It seems only to cater for a single period.
The COLUMN_NAME ID in my query is not unique.
The following error in the chart is displayed:
    Category: 1000
    Error code: 1002
Message: Resourse with same ID "%1" already exists
Somewhere I'm missing something, and might be the late nights - Can you please advise?
    Kind Regards
    Mynhardt

    Hello Roel -
Thank you for the suggestion. After setting parent_id to null, it still doesn't load. By using debug I'm getting a invald character to number conversion. Paring down the query to just basics, it still won't pass query validation:
    select null link, null
    a.WS_ENGINEER, number
    a.ws_engineer name, number
    null parent_id, null
    a.ws_start_date start_date, timestamp with timezone
    a.ws_end_date end_date timestamp with timezone
    from WORK_SCHEDULE a
I have to think it's the timestamps with timezone that are causing the problems since all other data is only numeric. I'll keep after it.

  • How to build a gantt chart with BI Publisher

Hi everybody, I need to create a gantt chart with BI Publisher. I had a look to the document "Getting Gantty" from the blog:
    http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2008/01/getting_gantty.html
but I don't understand in which way:
    1. build the data template in order to replicate the XML code in the article
    2. build and link the yellow bar which dynamically increases its length according to the meeting duration
Anybody already tried to implement something similar ? I didn't still found a real example about how to do it......
    I need a help, please
    Thanks in Advance
    Alex

Yes that is the only option which we can stop a running report in BI Publisher
I suspect you'll need to ask your DBA to kill the session.
However, if you have DBA privileges yourself, you can do this by a few methods, some of which are described here:
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/KillingOracleSessions.php
    Mark if helps,

  • Gantt chart with duration

    Hi Experts
As a part of bidding, client need to produce Gantt chart to the customer.
However, since this is presale process, the exact dates are not indicated but the duration of project to be specified. It means the schedule to show the duration from zero date.
Is it possible to take print of Gantt chart with out dates but duration of individual activity or WBS?
    Warm regards
    ramSiva

    Hi Ahmed
    Thank you for your reply.
The time scales in Gantt chart specifically shows the year, month and weeks from the start date of project definition or basic start of WBS.
Since it is not a decided project, the Gantt chart need to show 0, 1st week, 2nd week, 3rd week etc.
The actual schedule from PD start date can be produced on actual initiation of project.
It means, i am looking for having Gantt chart for duration and not for specific start and finish dates.

  • Gantt Charts with APEX

    Hello
Has anybody managed to integrate Gantt Charts with APEX and got them working. I'm required to provide some similar reports.
I understand Gantt charts are available in AnyCharts 5 but I need the XML to convert or at least a How To Do document.
Any any other ideas would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    Ade

    Hi Ade,
We have built an Anychart Integration Kit for APEX, if you take a look at -
    http://anychart.apex-evangelists.com
    and specifically -
    http://anychart.apex-evangelists.com/pls/apex/f?p=454:14:0:
You'll see that anything is possible ;)
We've concentrated on the core Anychart Functionality in the Integration Kit and will be releasing more powerful versions shortly.
    Hope this helps,

  • Scheduling and gantt charts with Apex?

    Hi,
Has anyone created Gantt charts using Apex?
Also, has anyone used Apex to create schedules?
From what I can tell, Javascript would be the language to use to add such code to an Apex app, correct?
    Regards,
    Daveio

    Leo,
Thank you, I appreciate the help!
An example of what I would like to do with scheduling:
    - Jobs will be entered into the application with priorities, durations, and required resources
    - The application will determine when the jobs can be started based on priority and resource availability
    - If a priority is changed the job start/finish dates should change accordingly
This is the information I would like to have displayed on a Gantt chart. I have a text explaining several scheduling algorithms that will help make this possible but I will need to learn how to write the code into Apex.

  • Problem with Project 2007 gantt chart in Acrobat X

    Good morning,
We are experiencing an issue with certain, rather large gantt charts in Project 2007 when converting them to PDF using Acrobat X. The issue is that the last portion of the chart is broken when converted to PDF. The chart will print properly when sent to a real printer, and it also renders correctly in the print preview. Here is an example of the issue:
As you can see, it has broken the last section of the chart and "stretched" the bars across the page. I couldn't find anything in the knowledge base that related to this issue, so any assistance would be apreciated.

Unfortunately it seems that this is still occuring, I guess nobody has ever come across this issue?

How can I use pdf pack to convert cubase documents  (music scores)  into pdfs? I am looking for the former possibility to install acrobat like a printer but i don't have this option with "pdf pack". Can you help?

    Hi mariab,
What format are those music scores (I'm not familiar with cubase documents). But, it may be that Adobe PDF Pack doesn't support that format. In that case, Acrobat is the way to go. You can then print your files to PDF as you'd like. You're welcome to try Acrobat for free for 30 days to see whether it's going to work for you. If you decide it is, and you'd like to use it going forward, you could convert your PDF Pack subscription into an Acrobat subscription.

  • Possible to obtain phone IMEI number with flex mobile project?

Just like the title says, is it possible to obtain phone IMEI number with flex mobile project? If not, does anyone know of another method to get a unique number to identify the phone being used (on android and iphone)? I'm asking because I'm building a chat application, and I need a way to potentially ban users based on something other than an IP address.
edit: now that I think about it, an IMEI number might not be the best way, since wifi tablets may not hav an IMEI number, anyone have any other idea how I could get a number to identify a device that would already be present, because i'm afraid if its something generated by me, a simple uninstall and re-install could circumvent a ban.

If this is an Android project, you can use this ANE:
    http://blog.snowflax.com/native-imei-action-script-extension-for-android/
I have verified that it does work and provides the IMEI.  For cases where there is no IMEI ( bc the device is not a mobile phone, or it uses IMSI instead ), you can just bypass the device id check with your database, and enable full functionality.
Although this is not full-proof, it will nevertheless screen a lot of devices.  With this, you can keep track of the number of app installs / resets, and add a 'banned' flag if you want to in your DB -- if you see unusal activity ( like:  unsually high number of re-installs ).
    ----->  UPDATE:
I just found this ANE which  includes a class called 'SystemProperties', to find the IMEI/IMSI/serial/phone number on Android, and the MAC address on iOS:
    https://github.com/mateuszmackowiak/NativeAlert
I have verified that the iOS part works, but haven't tried the Android side, yet.  Note: for iOS, it will also give you a UUID ( even though the object tag claims it is the UDID -- it's not ), which is worthless as a persistent means of identifying the device. since it gets reset on each app re-install.  So, for iOS, you have to use the MAC address, unless you are willing to store/restore the UUID into EncryptedLocalStore, as suggested by a user in:

  • Problems with BusinessGraphics Gantt Chart: WebDynpro 7.1 SP3

    Hi,
i tried the BusinessGraphics Gantt Chart and went through the Code Example for Displaying a Gantt Chart on:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a8/1cd93f5e0f9015e10000000a155106/content.htm
Unfortunately my gantt does not look and behave like it should:
    1)  The bars are only small sqares in the middle of one day. I use the same data as in the sample, so the bars should be a couple of days long
    2) I added an action, added an EventID to the series and to the point, mapped the parameters. When clicking a point a roundtrip is done. I write a success message with the eventID but often the Gantt Picture is a broken image after this (small red cross).
    3) The tooltip of the point is not shown in the chart when pointing on the square
    Can anybody help, please?
    Thanks
    Frank

Thanks a lot! This solved one of three problems. The trick is that you can set the marker for the points (without any effect) and for the series (with effect).
The tooltip shows up now, too. No idea why now and not before...

  • How to create new view without interlinking with gantt chart or resource views

    ok clear
    one another question
In msp how to create new view without interlinking with gantt chart or resource views

    Hi Shiv PMC--
I splitted your question above in another thread in order not to have  a huge thread with many topics in it.
That being said, I'm not sure to understand. A view is just a manner to display MS Project data with columns. A view can have a table with column (left part) associated with a Gantt chart. It can also just contain a table with no Gantt chart (like the task
table) or a table with a timephased grid (resource and task usage).
Please give us more information, maybe with a concrete example so we can help you.
    Hope this helps,

  • Gantt chart with null dates

    Hi,
Kylie discovered here that you couldn't have null dates in the project gantt query
APEX 4.0.2 Project Gantt Chart - Error Code: 2002 Message: Empty input
As Valentina suggested, I found the actual dates are mandatory, while the chart tolerates missing planned dates - which is a complete reversal of what actual project data would have.
baseline project gantt with parent-child relationship
What I found though is if some planned dates are missing, the generated XML seems to default with data from previous rows.
As detailed in this screenshot, my red lines indicate missing from/to dates (actual data also shown underneath chart)

  • Problem with gantt chart displaying - Apex4.2

Hi I'm using Apex 4.2 on localhost and
I have got three tables: employee, engineer, dates
-> engineer table is a specification of employee table, that means in employee you can find also the
names of the engineers. Engineer only has an additional attribute.
Here's the structure of the three tables:
    employee (e_id, lastname, surname....)
    engineer (e_id, attribute)
    appointment (a_id, e_id,start, end)
Now my problem: By using the gantt chart the xml doesn't want to show the names of the engineers.
If I only use this sql statement everything works but I only have the e_id from my engineer table:
    select
    null link,
    a.e_id,
    (select e_id from engineer where e_id = a.e_id) Engineer,
    null parent_id,
    a.start,
    a.end
    from appointment a
If I try to use this statement in order to see the names of the employees no chart will be shown,
    only xml error:
    select
    null link,
    a.e_id,
    (select emp.lastname from employee emp, engineer e where emp.e_id = e.e_id and e.e_id=a.e_id) Engineer,
    null parent_id,
    a.start,
    a.end
    from appointment a
I also created a view which combines the lastname from employee and the e_id from engineer
    but same problem.
    If I try:
    select
    null link,
    a.e_id,
    (select e_id from gantt_view where e.e_id=a.e_id) Engineer,
    null parent_id,
    a.start,
    a.end
    from appointment a
Then I'll see e_ids in my gantt chart but if I want to see my employee names
    with this statement:
    select
    null link,
    a.e_id,
(select lastname from gantt_view where e.e_id=a.e_id) Engineer,
    null parent_id,
    a.start,
    a.end
    from appointment a
Nothing is shown on the gantt chart.
I tested all sql statements on sql developer.
There I was able to see my employee names.
But for gantt charts it doesn't work.
    Any solutions?

    Great!
Of course, hard to diagnose when there's nothing to see.
Here's an old message in a thread from 2010. (To give credit, it's from Hilary Farrell.)

You are correct, the syntax outlined in the error message is incorrect, and I've logged bug 9799373 to track this. As a workaround, you can view sample syntax for Gantt charts on the 'Query' page of the Create wizard, in the 'Chart Query Example for Gantt' Show/Hide region below the text area for entering your chart query, and also in the Oracle APEX 4.0 User's Guide that will be available with our new release. • Problems with Gantt Chart

    Hi,
I have a Gantt Chart in my page, but there is something wrong with the scales; the major scale says, for example, "Monday, Oct 12", but the minor scale says "S" for sunday and then the major scale says "Tuesday, Oct 13" and the minor "Monday" and so on; they doesn´t correspond to each other... This is just happening in spanish, in english everything is fine, I don't know what can I do to fix this.
I have another problem in the same Gantt: one task has "16/10/2009 08:00:00 a.m." for start date and "17/10/2009 08:00:00 p.m." for end date, which gives a duration of 2 days, but in the gantt it is displayed as a 3 days duration!! this happen for every task in the gantt. I've been testing and I found that if I change the end date to "17/10/2009 06:00:00 p.m." (just changing 8 to 6 pm) the duration is displayed just fine, with the 2 days it should be. Actually this strange behavior happens only when the hour is equal or grater than 8:00pm. I've searched in the developers guide but it doesn't say anything about this; I don´t know if the OAF Gantt use some e-business parameter, or something; I really don´t know what can be happening.
I hope you can help me!
    Thanks and regards,
    Carlos V

Not sure about changing the scale at runtime but from what I've learned, if it can't be done in Crystal Reports itself - it can't be done via code.  And in CR the only way I know of is to do the multiple charts in multiple subsections and conditionally suppress based on the number of records (Projects in your case).
You could go to the development forum and ask the question about doing it programatically.
