Gapless play back and itunes auto art question
How do you know that albums are suppose to be Gapless? I assume that you just have to know.
I have some albums that won't retrieve artwork from itunes store yet and the Cd's are in the store. Is there anyways to fix this?
Also do you know any good site for organizing and maintaining your itunes.

My understanding is that iTunes automatically detects if your albums are gapless or not. Gapless CDs that I've ripped have remained gapless when played back in both iTunes and my Nano.
You can manually set albums to gapless by selecting all the tracks in that album, pressing CMD-I and setting the Gapless option.

I should have been a bit more specific and provided an example...
Question 1 and 2 are answered correctly and feedback box is shown each time - they then get stuck on question 3 so need to use the back button to go back through past the answered questions to the main information screens to find the answer and then need to use the forward navigation button to move back to the third question this will result in them moving through question 1 and 2 however we do not want them to answer these again.
The individual must answer every question correctly to pass the course.

I have over 40 Itunes purchases and they all play back fine, But my last purchase Ip Man2 keeps freezing on play, I know it's not my PC because all my other itunes movies play fine, wasn't able to get a helpful response from APPLE, How can I get a refund on that purchase or a better copy.
I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.

and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.

FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

Purchased videos do not play back in iTunes
When I try to play purchased (protected) content in iTunes 11.0.2 on my Macbook Pro, I get no video or audio playback, only a black screen. The time counter progresses, as though the video is playing. If the same content is streamed to my Apple TV from the Macbook via Airplay, both the video and audio play back with no issues. The same content plays without error on the iPad and iPhone. On the Macbook, the videos made from ripped DVDs or Blu-rays play without error. I have deauthorized and reauthorized the computer with no resulting change in behavior.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!
I am running OS X 10.8.2 on a mid-2009 Macbook Pro (2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo). I have modified the laptop in the following ways: upgraded to 8 GB (2x4GB) 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM; the optical drive has been removed and replaced with a 128 GB SSD (OWC Mercury Electra 3G SSD); the stock HDD has been replaced with a 640 GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue drive (WDC WD6400BEVT-00A0RT0).I get the following errors in Console.app

Best way to make a short movie that can play back and forth smooth?

I have a short .flv clip (video) of a shoe rotating 360 degrees.
The clip is less then 4 seconds and about 320kb in size and I'm using flash CS4.
I'm trying to build some sort of a player that lets the user scrub through the movie (back and forth).
The player is also supposed to be able to play the clip back or forth at a speed selected by the user.
I have read kglad's reply about "How to play backwards flv imported in timeline on flash cs3?", and the code works perfect, except that the video is not playing smooth when played backwards. I guess when playing normal, the next frames are by default buffered, but when playing backwards they are not...
Which is the best way of doing this?.
Maybe it has already been done? Has anyone heard about something similar?

Please find the file attached. I changed the file extension from .fla to .eps.
(I also added one with the extension .mpg)
Basically I just want to be able to rotate the shoe in either direction,
but then I also would like the user to be able to "spin" it.
Meaning that when the user turns the shoe around, the speed is recorded,
and when he releases the mousebutton, the shoe will continue to rotate at that speed.
Do you think it could work using video? Or do I have to use stillimages instead?

Windows 7, Microsoft Keyboard Media Keys (Play/Pause), and iTunes
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and iTunes 9.0.1.8 with Microsoft Intellipoint 7.0 and a Microsoft Keyboard with media keys.
In previous versions of Windows, iTunes, and Intellipoint, pressing the "play/pause" key on the keyboard would play or pause iTunes -- even when iTunes wasn't the active application.
In my current setup, when iTunes is minimized, then the media keys don't control iTunes.
Is this a bug? Is there something I can do to fix the situation?
I've asked Microsoft for help, and they say it looks to be a compatibility issue with iTunes. So, now I'm asking Apple. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.I have this same problem, but with Windows XP Pro. It MUST be a iTunes and a Microsoft IntelliType driver issue.
I JUST reinstalled my computer and loaded all new everything and the buttons worked off and on (depending on focus). I don't remember doing anything to make it work last time. The only thing I remember was installing a plug-in so my ATI Remote Wonder worked with iTunes.
I downloaded Chris's dll as suggested. Worked flawlessly. I hope Apple and/or Microsoft fix this in the next release of their software. -
Audacity crashes when trying to listen to play back and current track.

When I try to have a track recording and one playing back audacity crashes. When I try to listen to what i'm playing and record at the same time it also crashes. This is an arch 64 system, I get no errors dumped to a terminal or in the kernel logs but it does occasionally complain about some latency problem.
Anybody had any trouble or have any ideas how to fix this. Or alternatively what's everybody else using for recording guitars etc.I've been using traverso-git 20090603-1 and have had no problems, x86_64 and Openbox. But I only have maybe 2 hours total using it for recording, 10-15 minutes at a time. I have enjoyed using it as an editor, with much more time on it.

Nano won't play songs and iTunes won't recognize it.
After disconnecting my Generation 5 Nano from my clock radio yesterday, the nano would freeze every time I tried to play a song. Any song. I've tried about everything, with my goal now to just "restore" the nano.
I reset it 25 or more times with select/menu.
I reset the settings numerous times.
Tried resetting it by going into Safe Mode (select/play) many, many times.
Tried to restore by hooking up to iTunes, which doesn't recognize my nano (although the computer sees it).
Upgraded to iTunes 11 -- No change.
Tried a different computer. No change. Still not recognized, although, again, the computer (Windows) does.
Tried different USB ports. No change.
Tried "iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows" and all the different Windows fix possibilities -- nothing worked.
The only thing that has changed through all of this is that now when I click on a song, the screen swipes briefly over the acyual cover art song screen, then comes back to the song to click on again. So, now it's now freezing, just not playing. Other things like a few short saved videos, games, etc, do work fine.
If appears to me that I have a catch 22. I need to restore the nano, but can only restore through iTunes, which doesn't recognize my Nano.
Is there any other way to restore it?
DennisReplying to myself. Kept trying different areas of the ipod this evening, clicking various buttons, including some I'd never used before. All of a sudden I could see my Nano in iTunes. I quickly clicked on Restore before iTunes changed its mind about recognizing the iPod. Moved some songs onto it and it appears to be back to normal. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Freezing and itunes not found questions
I have two concerns/questions
1. why does my itunes application never work. I hit itunes try to see the store or when I'm using Panda it says itunes cannot be opened or some such message
2. my phone semi froze today (again but different this time).
I could call my phone and it would vibrate - but not ring and I could not answer it.
I couldn't shut it down to reopen. It was open to the phone page - couldn't get it back to the home/icon page.
I did do an update and that restored it but my concern is what can I do when I'm not near my computer (traveling etc). any ideas would be greatly appreciate.I meant Shazam and I think the other person you referred to meant Pandora. Shazam is an application where you can put your phone up to a radio playing a song and it will identify it for you and then take you to itunes to purchase the song if you want.

Apple TV and iTunes -- Cover art via AirPlay is incorrect.
iTunes and second gen Apply TV software is up to date. I now find that album cover art is not displaying correctly on Apple TV, when music played from iTunes via AirPlay
He cover art seems to be off set by one album (from the playlist). First song displays correctly, second song, still shows cover art from first song, third song shows cover art from second song, and so on.
Since the cover art used to display correctly, I assume that this is a bug in AirPlay. Then again, you know what happens when you assume.
Anyone else have the same problem and been able to correct this issue?
Thanks.I am also experiencing this issue. If I stop and then re-start the song, the art corrects itself, but that should not be necessary. I would love a fix for this before the holiday when I play a lot of music.

Videos play back in itunes Yellow
When I play a video in itunes in the store or out of my libary it shows up yellow you can see the images just the color is yellow. Any one got any ideas I got all the updates Itunes 7 and the new quick time and updated direct X.
OK fixed it. Forgot to upgrade my video card driver. That fixed the issue.

GAPLESS PLAY BACK IS KILLING ME!!!!!
I really hope someone can help me out there.
I recently had to rebuild my itunes library after a severe hard drive crash, and in doing so had to rip a lot of my CD's again.
upon opening itunes it starts looking for album covers and then it started doing gapless information.
Here is the real issue, it just stalls!!! over and over. The never ending spinning frickin rainbow!! I have to force quit itunes (which by the way always says "itunes not responding")
I've checked for corrupt files by moving them backwards and forwards between my main drive and an external drive to capture any bad eggs. I found a couple but jeez this is just ridiculous!
I know I can't have that many corrupt files, god knows I've thrown away enough as a precaution. But my patience is wearing very thin. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it

I have never used another computer to sync my phone or ipod too. I do not want to lose everything. I am quite frankly at the end of my rope and thoroughly regret the fact that I am stuck with an iphone 4 for 2 years.
Someone, anyone...help??!Sounds like you've taken the wrong course of action after a missing library error. Ideally you would have just restored a backup at the first sign of trouble.
Each iTunes library contains a unique ID that is also recorded in any device that syncs with it. After your rebuild the two IDs won't match so iTunes will try to treat the devices as "new".
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Alternatively, for each device...
You should be able to transfer your purchases into a newly authorised library, backup the device, recover any non-store purchased media with the tips in this post from forum regular Zevoneer, (skip this if you've already got all the media) then restore the device from the backup you just made. That should preserve all your data and switch the assocation of the device to the new library. I've had positive feedback on this method from other users but I've never had to test it personally.

Depending on what country you are in you can always delete the album and download it again from the iTunes Store, since that is now an option with iTunes in the Cloud.

Iphones and itunes accounts International questions
I have a US itunes account. I also have a UK itunes account. My old iphone is connected to my US itunes account. My mobile me subscription is a US-based subscription.
I am going to be based in Egypt and have a new mobinil iphone. Do I need to set up another itunes account? It would be better if I could continue using my US itunes account and all the stuff that I've bought through it on my new Egyptian iphone.
Furthermore, with mobile me, I use the ical (as does the rest of my family). However I now also have a googlemail account for work and use google calendars. Is it going to be possible to sync all to the new iphone. Can anyone suggest resources that will tell me how to do this?
At home I'm on a MacBook Pro. At work on a PC.
Thanks for your suggestions.The terms of use of the iTunes Store prohibit using it from outside of the country of the Store, and there is no iTunes Store in Egypt, only an App Store. So if you're going to be living in Egypt, then speaking from the standpoint of what's allowed (as opposed to what's technically possible, though indications are that Apple is taking technological steps to prevent access to a given country's iTunes Store from outside the country), you will not be able to use the iTunes Store - that is, you will not be able to purchase music, videos, etc. - in Egypt unless and until such time as Apple is able to open an iTunes Store there. But you will be able to continue to use content purchased from the US and UK iTunes Stores and will be able to sync that content to your new iPhone.
To get applications for your iPhone that you haven't already obtained, you will need to open a new account in the Egyptian App Store.
