Gaps within(!!) songs!

iTunes iTunes iTunes...
This morning I downloaded an album (or several actually) Some songs in one of the albums are full of gaps of ½ second each, here and there. Tried to fix by shuting down iTunes and restart. Don't help.
Now, I don't want a ruined album, what's the fix for this little lovely iTunes problem??
There were no errors when downloading.

Cheffalo,
If you are having a problem with a specific song, I would suggest reporting it to the iTunes Store directly.
This link contains more information in the "A purchased song sounds bad" section:

Thank you,

  • I need to add a gap between songs when burning a CD

    I just upgraded to iTunes 9.2.0.61, hoping that it would solve my problem. I need to add (yes, ADD) a gap between songs. I'm burning a CD to be used during a performance, and there's a reason that I need 10 seconds of silence after the first song. I believe in previous versions I could add a gap between songs...using Get Info, then Options, but now it just gives me a start and end time for songs. How can I add a 10 second gap between the first two songs?

    Add a track consisting of 10 seconds of silence. I made you one in crystal clear MP3 stereo. You can get it here: http://rcpt.yousendit.com/907964971/c4d2c9e22762a8911f4e431a1e2a4e2c
    Just put it in the library and then add it to your playlist wherever you need it.
    iTunes lets you add a gap between songs, but only up to 5 seconds, and it has to be the same every time.

  • GAP inbetween songs- how do I remove it?

    I have a few CDs (all uploaded to iTunes) that are mixed so that the songs cross-fade into each other, one track carries over into the next etc. iTunes puts a small gap inbetween songs, which is a problem because it sounds like the song stutters when switching. I am aware that there is a cross-fade playback option but I do not want to have the volume decrescendo/crescendo and be cut off at all.
    Other than editing every song into one, how can I eliminate this? It's really annoying..

    Hi,
    I think you have to do this on a track by track basis, sorry.
    seelct the track, control click, get info. under the options tab, there is a start time, stop time setting. Listen to the song and insert the correct time you want it to start/stop. click the checkbox (if it hasn't done so). voila.
    Hope that helps

  • Gaps between songs

    Hi,
    During playback my iPod and iTunes are forcing gaps between songs.
    In iTunes I have selected "no gaps" in Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Burning, and, as suggested in the FAQs/forums, I have selected "Crossfade Playback" in Edit>Preferences>Playback and set it to 0 seconds.
    Even after this, my iPod still forces gaps between songs, and iTunes actually seems to be slightly overlapping songs.
    This may seem anal, but I just want to listen to mix CDs as they were intended to sound on my iPod!
    Any ideas?
    PC   Windows XP

    Hi kshaws21,
    Have you tried going to Edit>Preferences>Playback? Here you can set "Crossfade Playback" to 0 seconds (although this will still give you a fraction of a second crossfade) or you can deselect it altogether and you'll have gaps between your songs.
    Everyone else,
    I
    refuse to believe that iPods don't support gapless playback. What, Apple have never heard of the mix CD?
    Any more ideas?
    Cheers

    Thanks Chris but according to Pioneer, is was possible with the itunes in 2010.
    It wasn't. (at least as far as setting Part of Gapless album goes. See next para.)
    They claim that itunes will work if you select gapless album, part of a compilation
    Selecting Gapless album does not make it gapless. (which is likely that now this option is removed - to not confuse people)
    The ONLY thing that option did was tell iTunes to NOT crossfade consecutive songs from same gapless album IF you had crossfade enabled.
    -> http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1797
    Setting the gap to 0 is what made it "seem" gapless.
    Perhaps it is not working as it used to.
    Try a slower burn speed.
    and used itunes to convert them to mp3
    Dont know why they suggest this.
    Simply use the WAV file. Then there will be no loss (as there is when converted to MP3).

  • How do I vary the gap between songs?

    I would like to vary the gap between the songs I burn on a CD. This would be especially useful when recording certain classical pieces. The iTunes Preference for "Gap between Songs" will only let me choose a uniform gap between all tracks. Does anyone know if this gap can be made different between tracks? Thank you. Maria

    Sorry, but you may only select the same gap between all tracks (when using iTunes).
    If you want o use different gaps between those tracks, you have to switch to a commercial burning application like oast.

  • Mixed CD has gap between songs

    Hi all, When listening to the ipod itself, I gat a split second gap between songs. I have selected the "gapless" feature in the itunes "get info" tabs on the songs. The songs flow together nicely when listening to them on my computer via itunes but when listening to the CD from the ipod itself I still get a small gap. How can I avoid this? Please help. Thank you!!

    By "mixed cd" are you referring to one that contains various tracks and you've created yourself and burned to cd?
    If the tracks are not meant to flow into one another (such as those on The Beatles Sgt Pepper for example), you will have a gap.

  • Gaps inbetween songs

    Please help, im trying to play a live album and it has gaps inbetween songs. I have read the ipod help and it says to go to advance-then join songs, but this option is blanked out?
    Can anyone please help?
    thanks

    Your question gets asked on a daily basis, and has been answered many times. If you search for 'gapless playback' you'll see how just how many people inquire about this.
    In short... the iPod does not support gapless playback.
    If you want to eliminate the gaps, one workaround is to join the individual tracks together, and play them as one single track. You can do this by reimporting the CD into iTunes using the 'Join CD Tracks' feature.
    See Step 3 in this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93079http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93079http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93079
    If you'd like to send feedback to Apple to ask that they include gapless playback as a feature in future revisions of the iPod firmware, you can do so on this feedback page.

  • How do I get rid of gaps between songs??

    Hi,
    I am trying to record a mix CD into iTunes but there are gaps between songs.
    I know that you can take these gaps out by making the CD into one long track on your ipod, but is there anyway I can get rid of the gaps and keep them as seperate tracks, like on the CD?

    In the burning options, change the time between tracks from two seconds to zero seconds.

  • Can you change the time gap in songs with iPhone

    I really want to change the time gap in between each I my songs on my iPhone 4 but I don't know if I can or even how so if anyone can help :)

    What "once a day" really means is "every twenty four hours starting from the last time they were updated". Just manually update them tomorrow morning and you should find that the time has changed.

  • How can I shorten the gap between songs?

    I have this awkward gap in between songs. Crossfade is ridiculous and doesn't shorten the gap. Any way to get one song to fade into the next with no silence?

    Is there a 4 second gap at the end or start of the two songs that gap is between? In other words, song 1 to song 2, the end of song 1 might have 4 seconds of silence at the end of it. iTunes adds its 2 seconds and the end result is what sounds like a six second gap.

  • Crystal reports - how to identify a sequence gap within a column

    I am working on a project which requires the ability to identify gaps in numeric sequence within a column.
    Does anyone have any thoughts on what a formula such as this?
    It can be done in excel using the formula columns in screen shot columns I and J. I is H2+1 starting on I3. J is column I - column H to identify sequence gap size.
    Id like to accomplish the same using a crystal formula if possible.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
    Here's what you need to do:
    For Column I, create a formula (@I+1) in the report with this code and place it on the Details Section:
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar x;
    if onfirstrecord then
         x := {Trans_Num};
         0;
    else
         x := x + 1;
    2) Create another formula and place this beside the above formula:
    EvaluateAfter({@I+1});
    numbervar x;
    if onfirstrecord then
         0
    else
         x - {Trans_Num};

  • My iphone, when listening to ipod, has small gaps in songs (1 sec or less), yet in itunes, the gaps are not there?

    Basically, I've had it with a few songs now, where a random part of the song, has a small gap in it, where as on my iTunes, there is no gap, I orignally thought it could be from where I burned the CD onto the computer, but this is not the case as there is no gap on iTunes.
