Garage band issues.

I'm using garage band and i accidentally press something on my keyboard to make the sound stop playing, while all of the volume is up and on a setting. is their some type of mute that its on i can't figure it out?

Yeah, I've seen that too. I think it might have been changed in an update of GB 09 (I just can see the 5.0.1 (358) version right now, and it doesn't have the graphical interface). Are you sure you really have the same versions of GB?

Garage Band Issues on MacBook Pro

I thought of posting this on the Garage Band Discussion but it might be unique to MBP. I was literally recording in a garage on Saturday. The first track to go down was drums and bass - 2 1/2 minutes into the recording the same pop up window came up "Coreaudio - Disk space." I looked this up in the "helps" but nothing came up. It was really irritating. It's a brand new computer so it can't be a memory issue. Anyone had the same problem or know what I should do?

Garage band issue

I have a mac and as I started using my garage band, a pop up opened suggesting to download the new free version of garage band and since I have a lot of tracks that I use to sing along with, I am afraid I might loose a whole year of editing and the like. I really don't trust all new free versions of programs because in the past I was told to upgrade from adobe flash player 12 to 14 and it cost me 50:00$ to hire a mac expert to put back the version 12 so my videos and the like to operate again. any help or advice??

If you install the newest version, Gatageband 10 the installer will place your older version in a folder called Garageband in your Application folder. So you will have both the GB 10 and your currant GB version.
And to let you know you can uninstall Flash player yourself by going to System Preferences > Flash Player and deleteing it in the advance menu. And Flash is only up to version 13 you should always use the latest Flash Player for comparability and security.

Auto Tune 5 Demo + Garage Band Issues

Okay so I have an issssue. I have been using Garage Band 3 and trying out the Auto Tune 5 AU Plug-in Demo for the last few days. I had it assigned to be used in one of my tracks in a project i've been working on. Now, the demo has expired. When I attempt to open my project (that uses auto-tune), an auto-tune dialogue comes up informing me that the demo has expired. Okay cool, but then after I exit this box Garage Band has an error and exits.
I'm not sure what to do at this point, as I have deleted every trace of auto-tune using spotlight, both in the plug in folders and in the original downloaded files.

hmm i believe i already deleted the folder from there. i checked it out and its non existant.
when i search both terms in spotlight: antares, and auto-tune, both return with no results.
any other tips? is there a way to manage the plug ins with garage band within the program?
NOTE: I am able to access garage band if I enter a project that does NOT use the auto-tune functionality.

Is garage band included on 10.6 OS and hdmi display issues?

Imac, 17 inch display, 2.0 GHz, 1GB ram two issues. Can I connect an hdmi second display (hidef tv) through the thunderbolt port and does garage band come with OS 10.6. Can't find garage band anyplace and the second display when plugged in to an aftermarket thunderbolt to hdmi adapter sees the hdmi display but won't mirror. I have a clean install of 10.6 and can't get past these two issues. Any help please.

Here's the issue. I can only get 3 meg d/l speed and that drops to as low as .5 meg at times. I can link my MacBook Pro to an hdmi hi def 1080 thru a Devi connector and all works fine. I run Netflix and the MacBook buffers the content so if the speed lags the show doesn't stop. I came across this iMac and was hoping to do the same thing. I bought an Apple TV 2 nd gen and it just stops and stalls due to no buffering. So that's not working. If I can connect the iMac to the larger Vizio with hdmi inputs, 1080 hi def I would allow the iMac to run my Netflix and not ruin here MacBook by letting it run continuously. I used the MacBook on a smaller 14" and the 26" Vizio with no problems. The iMac won't see either one though in sys prefs it does show the display but won't mirror. If you, for some reason, just cannot answer the question, just let me know, I appreciate all your help. I am at a loss but feel certain there is a way to do this.

SlideShow in iDVD has a 99 photo limit - more than this and all sorts of error occures.
One can have more than one SlideShow on a DVD = X times 99 photos.
or assemble SlideShows in a movie editor (no limit at least not under 650 photos)
(only limit is Time in iDVD (movie time + MENU time --- 60 min or 120 min on SL-DVD and about twice on DL.-DVD )
I use
• iMovie up to HD6 - or -
• FinalCut any version
As they will give a better quality than iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 can do.

Bose 5 companion issues with Garage Band 10

I've noticed in the Audio/Midi utility that the Audio input format for Garage Band 10 is 24 bit 44100 Hz yet the Bose Companion 5 speakers are 16 bit 48000Hz.
I don't pretend to know the difference - can anyone explain in plain simple English and is it significant?

GarageBand does not support frequencies higher than 44100 Hz.
I'd set the Audio Midi preferences to 44100 Hz for all devices you want to use with GarageBand, i.e., if you are noticing a distortion.

Garage band 1.1.0 issues

HI, i have garage band 1.1.0 and have recently updated to tiger, i am now running 10.4.3. I have tried to start up garage band and i get an unexpected error message 192 and the app. fails to start. Can anyone help?

I've never seen a 192 error, however a -192 error is a Resource Not Found error, which likely means the app or one of its support files was somehow damaged. I would suggest searching your hard drive for "GarageBand" and trashing everything you find (accept any folders holding songs you may have created), and then re-install GB from the DVD.

Flip Mino-Garage Band-iMovie Syncing Issues

I'm recording video on a flip video while simultaneously recording audio with a lapel mic through garage band. I am then uploading the video to iMovie and attempting to match up the audio from garageband to the video. Somewhere along the way they are getting way out of sync. How do I fix this?

While it seems to download the videos and create the project, the videos are not viewable in iMovie?
There should be no doubt as to whether they were imported to the named_Event folder. Simply open it and see if the file(s) is/are there. If there and they don't show up in the iMovie '08 Event window, this I would suspect that either the thumbnail or cache data is bad. Since the normal work flow appears to be import, thumbnail, build cache movie, I would jump to the cache movie, open it and check to see if the "missing" content is included here. If not, I would likely close the application, trash both the thumbnail and cache folders, and then reopen the application to see if re-thumbnailing and re-caching the source files remedies. If it does well and good. It doesn't then I would likely do a test conversion if the file or files the "don't take" properly and see if this changes the results. As I do not own such a device, these are only logical "gueses" as to things I minght try in an effort to isolate the base problem area.

Getting error code 2 and also "selected driver not found (-10202)" when trying to change output/input in garage band. Driver issue?

Guys, I've solved my problem about that error -10202 (Selected driver not found).
I have installed in my Mac Pro (OS X 10.5.8) a document with an extension ".rsrc" to correct the position of the accents in my keyboard, like acute accent, tilde and circumflex.
That file is called "U.S. - International.rsrc" and it's stored in the following path:
"Macintosh HD/Library/Keyboard Layouts"
So, when it's properly installed, I can choose 2 country flags on the right side of the menu bar (U.S. - International and Brazilian).
That's the clue!
When I pick up "U.S. - International", my keyboard works fine with the accents, >>>BUT<<< Logic Pro 9 doesn't recognize my audio driver; and when I pick up "Brazilian", my keyboard doesn't work with the accents exactly as it shows me on each key, BUT Logic Pro 9 DOES recognize my audio driver.
So, when I want to write anything out, I will pick up the "US - International" and when I want to work on the Logic Pro 9, I will pick up "Brazilian".

HT2510 having issues with Garage Band stating disc too slow...i have stopped ALL other apps, restarted and still having same issue....Please help!

i have not been able to replay older Garage Band productions I have done. I got one to play and then when I edited and saved said did i want to save to newer version. I said ok...But getting repeated error that disc too slow and then starts playing in timeline but no audio then says Garage Band not responding.
Please advise...

Just some thoughts: You have an older Mac, so that could be part of the problem. You may have processes running in the background, or perhaps your disk is too full. Look in the Apple Knowlege Base for things like Startup Items, Launch Daemons, etc and see if you have any that you can get rid of. Also check your HD available space. If it's too full, your files are probably fragmented and spread all over the disk, which might make it respond too slowly.

I have store receipt future shop I have baught iPod touch Apple TV lg phone this iPad bellin case d link router multiple cords I tunes card the least future shop and apple should do is take this back and repair and sell to your discount places and I should for my support get a new no issue ipad unless you respond and it truly is A fix ... iPad mini I couldn't afford full size air it's only a week or 2 shy of 6 months and has 9.8gb left and only 5+ used I shouldn't be crashing and being disrupted trying to use a 350 dollar machine that's under 6 months I tryed the garage band fix from a site but it crashes in any app just hit or miss all day ...help me, I love Nd enjoy my od touch n it's only 4th gen, I use my Apple TV daily would love to afford a MacBook Pro and ipad air but I'm on disability and am only 30 addiction. And it's later health effects caught up and I use my apple devices to increase daily life, as it's dull n hardly fix my issue with a info n direction solution or get future shop to honour me a new ipad in exchange for this with receipt box m was never out of a shock proof case. How do you add non-Garage band instruments into a Logic project so that you can hear them on playback?

How do you add non-Garage band instruments (orchestral instruments) into a Logic Pro (8) project so that you can hear those insrtruments' sounds on playback? I've tried to understand and follow the Logic Pro 8 User Manual, but the process comes off as so complex and the writing so technical that it does not help but only confuses.
To be precise - I want to add instruments (orchestral) that are not offered in the current Garage band menu which is offered in the Mixer's channel strip menus for Logic Pro 8. To be clear, the instruments that are offered are Bass / Drum Kits / Guitars / Mallets / Organs / Pianos and Keyboards / Synth Basics / Synth Leads / Synth Pads. Most of these that I've tried seem to work and give their characteristic sound when placed in a particular channel and playback is clicked.
However - there is one orchestra instrument offered in the standard Logic Pro 8 Mixer channel menu and it's the item labelled "Performance - 000 flute 1 or 001 flute 1." And it is this instrument that presents a problem. When I click on it and choose it from the menu and enter it as the instrument of choice for a specfic channel / track in my Logic Pro project arrangement, when playing back the music for the overall piece this particular track, the flute, does not playback and produce the notes (Midi events) in the track in the sound of the flute. Instead, nothing comes out at all. I can't imagine why this does not work. Any ideas, anyone? Again, when choosing this instrument for a track and clicking the playback no flute sound is forthcoming. Why not? I have not tried them all, but when most of the other various types of keyboards, such as an electric piano or an organ, are chosen for a track the playback successfully renders the sound of these instruments. Why then does playback not produce the sound of the flute when it has clearly been chosen to play and sound the Midi events given it?
Anyway, the overall, larger issue for me is the inability I have to choose and get non-Garageband instruments (largely orchestral) to play the Midi events given on various tracks. If my guess is correct then technically, orchestral instruments not offered in the standard Logic Pro 8 Garageband Mixer channel menu are referred to as external Midi sampled instruments - still, IMHO the process is not clearly spelled out in the User Manual. The simple step by step process whereby a non-Garage band instrument, say an orchestral instrument, is placed in a channel replete with Midi event (notes) waiting to be played should be easy, logical and given in a simple to follow format, but is not.
What with all the talk of routes, busses, auxillary channels, GM devices, GM mixers, audio bins, libraries and audio files this Logic Pro User is confused to the max. Can someone please help me and, in simple English, describe the step by step process whereby presumably external sampled orchestral instruments can be successfully employed, in any given Logic Pro arrangement project, to render their characteristic sounds upon playback?
On my two Macs, one a laptop and one a much larger Mac, I have any number of the GSO (Garritan Symphony Orceshtra) and Vienna Symphony Orchestra instrument library samples - and yet - I've yet to figure out how to actually get them INTO a Logic Pro project of any kind! To put this as a question, even as a humble request, how can I make good use of these orchestral sample libraries in a Logic Pro project? Can someone steer my to a clear resolution of this issue. David, you understand that this is professional software and is not necessarily meant to be easy but is in fact designed to give the professional user as many choices as possible, that's why it's in the Pro Apps section. You WILL need to learn about buses, GM Devices, Audio Bins, Libraries...etc..etc if you intend to use Logic.
That said, you are looking in the wrong place in the channel strip.
May I offer you advice?

Open "Exploring Logic Pro" (a short PDF Document). Pay special attention to chapter 3. Also pay special attention to the included graphics of the channel strips.
I encourage you to read the whole document as it will clear up many things... even though it's a Logic 9 document.

While creating a project in Garage Band my sample tracks were cut short then overwritten in soundtrack pro. Any ideas why? and how to get my tracks back?

Any ideas why? and how to get my tracks back?
I never opened soundtrack pro to edit the track just Garage band....the track just mysteriously saved as half the track.
I am running Lion and I upgraded my Garage band to '11 hoping it would resolve the issue...it didn't. Now I can't find that tracks at all.
The 2 songs having the issue are titled Exotic Yearning and Reunion.
I am in the process of reinstalling the audio content from my discs. I just don't want to run into this again.
Any thoughts and help would be greatly appreciated!

After spending some time reinstalling the soundtrack pro 3 content I opened the full track called Reunion.
It showed back up in Garage Band.*It was the full track and wasn't chopped off until I dragged it onto the project. Then it showed up chopped.
Then I closed Garaged band and opened soundtrack pro 3....The song was again chopped off at the 1:33min mark

Garage Band displays error message in Safe Boot

The old issue. When booting into Safe Mode, on launching Garage Band an alert pops up notifying me that "selected driver (~10200) was not found". My Mac came with Lion pre-installed, however since I upgraded to Mavericks after a week of owning it, I didn't have a chance to experience this issue, however in Mavericks both GB v6 and GN v.10 displayed this message when running the System in Safe Boot. I reinstalled Mavericks from scratch, then reset my Mac to factory. I'm now currently on Lion (native OS X) after 15 months again, am fully satisfied with its performance, I have installed iLife'11 from the retailer DVD, then updated via Software Update utility and - partially - via Apple's Updates pages to the latest possible version of iLife'11. However when I started up in Safe Mode GB 6.0.5 still displays that message. I started a thread some time ago while using Mavericks and it was suggested by some users that it has smth to do with kexts. However now, after reseting to factory and subsequent installs of iLife'11 suite and updates I wonder if that message is somehow related to the procedure of Garage Band 6.0.5 update? I remember that after performing internet recovery and then installing iLife'11 from the DVD I ran Software Update Utility: it clearly detected all installed software but among suggested updates the one for GarageBand 6.0.5 was greyed out: it had the box unticked and impossible to click.
So, would like to hear some thoughts of yours on the subject. It doesn't make me any obstacles as of now using Garage Band but is definitely annoying.
