Garage Band not sending Ringtones to iTunes

Hello, here's the thing, i have updated to the latest version of Garage Band after hearing that i could make my own ringtones with it. I tried it and success! i have like 6 or 7 ringtones made directly from Garage Band. Now here's the problem, i purchased a new HD to put my music and movies on it, so i went to the finder and transfered the itunes music folder on my old HD and put it on my new HD, then i opened itunes and in the preferences tab i located it so that it would read it from its new location. iTunes updated the library without trouble, and now i have all my music and videos from my new HD. The thing is that now i go to Garage Band to make a new ringtone (the process like i did before the new HD) and it creates it, but now the newly created ringtone does not appear on the ringtones pane in itunes, and therefore it wont appear on my iphone under the ringtones tab. All of the other ringtones appear without trouble, just the new ones that don't appear. Am i doing something wrong? I've looked in spotlight and i cant find them anywhere. Please help guys!

I'm no Mac expert here, but in Windows you could solve this problem by dragging and dropping the files from Explorer (Finder?) right into the iTunes library.

  • Can't import ringtone from Garage band 6.0.5 to iTunes 11.0.4

On my Mac I can't import ringtone from Garage band 6.0.5 to iTunes 11.0.4. I can create the ringtone but when I share it vanishes instead of going into the Tones like it used to do.

Is that, how far you get?
You select, "New Project" and select a "Podcast" project template? And then you get that error message? Or do you see the File Choser dialogue, but get the error message, when you try to save the project?
That can either mean, that the "Podcast" project template is not readable, or that you cannot write to the GarageBand folder in your home folder.
Check the System Library, if the Podcast template is properly installed:
    /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Templates/Projects/
Look into the folder "Library", directly on your MacintoshHD, then "Application Support", "GarageBand", "Templates" for 08. Podcast.band.
If it is not there, then your GarageBand installation is incomplete and you need to reinstall it. If the file is there, check the permissions. Can you open the file 8. Podcast.band, if you copy it to your Desktop and double click it, to open it in GarageBand?

  • I am a Garage Band idiot.  Ringtone help wanted !

I only bought iLife '08 b/c my friend told me I can make my own free ringtones from GB. (I am glad i got the iLife because iPhoto is 100% better than it was)..
Anywho, I have no idea how to even begin. I start up Garage Band, and I get those 4 choices, I click New Project, and then what?
All I want to do is drag a song from iTunes into Garage Band, Select a particular verse, and send it back to my iTunes ringtones folder.
Does anyone have the time to explain this to me or a helpful link that shows step by step.
I can tell that there awesome things you can do with G.B., but **** if I know how to do it!
    Thanks alot!!

Okay. This is real easy. What you want to do is, find the actual song file you want to make into a ring tone. You can't just drag and drop thing directly from iTunes into GarageBand. Your iTunes files are found in User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music.
Once you find the song file you want, just drag it into a new track in GarageBand. Once the file is loaded into GarageBand, you have to select a section of the song not to exceed 40 seconds. After you've made your selection, trim off the unneeded sections of the song. You then need to loop the song. Do this by clicking on the loop tool at the bottom of the GarageBand window. It looks like two curvy arrows. Drag the yellow loop bar thingy that appears at the top of the song so that it extends the full length of your song.
All that's left to do now is select "share" form the Apple menu bar and select "Send Ringtone to iTunes." All done.
Here's a step by step that may cover anything I've missed:

  • Problems with sending ringtones to iTunes.

I'm using the latest version of Garageband '08, and when I click send ringtone to itunes, it says it's sending it to iTunes, then itunes opens up but my ringtone is not there. It's like nothing even happened. Why is it doing this?

I'm having the exact same problem. Have followed the tutorials on Facebook, researched it in this board, and still am not finding an answer.
    Still looking.

  • Garage Band not opening!

Garage Band not opening due to conflicting third party plug-ins that migrated unintentionally from studio computer to Macbook (mainly T-Racks). Please advise on how to bypass or delete these rogue plug-ins. Many thanks!

It is hard to advise, how to uninstall. If the application, that installed the plug-ins has an uninstaller, try to run that uninstaller.  Or look at the manufacturer's web site on how to uninstall.
Audio plug-ins are usually installed in the system Library in the Folders
    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins
    or in your user library
    ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins
Open these folder, for example by using the Finder's GO menu:
"Finder >  GO > Go  to folder"  and enter one of the paths above.
If you can identify the offending plug-ins, remove them and restart the Mac.

  • Iphone does not sync ringtone with itunes

My iphone 4 does not sync ringtone with itunes. I created a new ringtone in itunes ( file.m4r) , tagged it and started syncing with my iphone, but the new ringtone does not show among the ringtones in my iphone

Now it works, don't know how, but iot works, since I changed into sync manually started a sync process unsuccessfully and get back to re-sync automatically.
Used sync all ring tones instead of sync selected ones, but I tried this before and it did not work.
Very strange, should have been this change, otherwise I really dont't know why it works now and not before

  • Was garage band panning seems to be itunes importing

    hi all-
man, i am going crazy trying to figure this out. thanks for your patience.
it seems that something is definitely happening with those pan settings when i import the tracks to itunes. they play fine when i convert them to quick time and play them from my desktop i hear the seperation like i programmed/recorded it. but as soon as i drag or import it to itunes, that info is lost. i don't exactly know if it's just playing back in mono, or mporting in mono. i need to check that out......
i have the current itunes, but i'm not so sure how to set up the import info under the preferences panel.
i'm going to jump over to the itunes forum, them jump off the brooklyn bridge. see you in the east river.........

hey there- i've been waiting for you.

    i FIXED IT ! it's that **** SOOUND ENHANCEMENT
Ahhhh! Interesting. I've never seen it documented exactly what the enhancer does, but it sounds like it might attempt spatial enhancement along with whatever other things it does (I never used it, so never investigated)
fwiw, i had the importing settings set for cd's into
itunes, mp3 encoder at highest quality. should i
change the bit rate on a custom setting for tracks
from garage band? or maybe experiment with it to see
    what sounds best?
Experimenting is good. AAC claims to have better encoding at similar sample rates, so you might want to explore that.
When you poke around in the custom settings, you'll see why I wanted to know what yours were, there is a setting to create a mono file.
nothing like problem solving to help you learn what
    your computer can do,
And it's fun too, when you're not trying to get work done.
    thanks one and all !!!!!

  • Garageband WONT Send RINGTONES to iTunes

    Hi All,
Long time mac user here -- this has worked for me before, but ever since upgrading to Snow Leopard I cannot send ringtones from Garageband to iTunes. This goes for normal songs as well -- iTunes will launch, but the song or ringtone won't be added, nor will the specified playlist (if exporting a song).
Any ideas? I trashed the garageband preferences in ~/Library/Preferences, and I also tried appzapping garageband and reinstalling it from the iLife 09 DVD.
    Thanks

    Anyone got any suggestions?

  • HOW DO I FORMAT GARAGE BAND SONGS TO MP3 THROUGH ITUNES?

I am having the same problem and I did the same steps as Vasso. But my songs are from Garage Band... How do you format the songs from Garage band so that they can be burned as MP3 CD's from ITunes? I went to preference in Itunes then to advance then to burning and I set it for MP3 Cd and when I tried to burn the selected songs on my playlist I was prompted that ONLY FILES THAT ARE ALREADY MP3 FORMAT MAY BE BURNED TO AN MP3 CD.

You posted in a Windows forum, so its probably why you had your question overlooked. I found this article for you that seems to answer that question. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93585
Good Luck, and try the Mac iTunes forum next time for a faster answer.

  • Why is my Garage Band not upgrading to the latest version yet?

I watched the new update keynote today and I cannot wait to play on the new Garage Band... However, my garage band app is not updated yet.  What is the problem?  iMovie and iPhoto have updated, why not Garage Band?

I'm in Garageband Groundhog Day download loop.
First it didn't update like other iLife Apps.
Then I found it in App Store Featured section, with Update tag attached.  I did.
Then after download, I found I had two versions.  Opened newest and a further download was needed. (see screen grab)
This further download takes ages and stops (without fail) around the 1 minute mark for no known reason (just disappears from screen).
So then you open Garageband App again and it starts the second download again.
Repeat loop... until Bill Murray helps you to become a better person?
I've deleted both old and new and re-downloaded Garageband from App store.
Nothing seems to help.  The download from within Garageband keeps mucking up along the way, and I get kicked back out of it.
    Any thoughts?

  • Outlook 2003 will not send emails with itunes running

Has anyone been subject to this issue? While running itunes, I can not send emails. I have to shut itunes down and then the email can be sent. I run XP Pro and have Outlook 2003. Itunes is updated whenever an upgrade is avaialable.

I'm seeing that same problem on my computer. I've tried looking all over for solutions, but so far I haven't found anything. The only workaround I've found is to hit Alt-s to send the message instead of pressing the send button.

  • GarageBand not "Sending song to iTunes"

Whenever I press "Send song to iTunes," it mixes and converts, and then iTunes opens...with no song. Why is this happening, and how can I fix this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

How many characters has your song´s name? GB has a problem with long names.

  • I am unable to send ringtone from itunes

    Hi,
I have installed ringtone maker in my iphone 4s, from that created a ringtone. The same was opened with itunes installed in my laptop. But once i tried to save the ringtone to my laptop, itunes will stop working and close down. I reinstalled the itunes once again to my laptop, still the problem persists. Please suggest me how to fix the problem.
    Thanks

I just tried to convert another song to the mr4 and at the "Create ACC version" step, I get an error message "could not be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats".
The song was purchased through iTunes.  I have searched community and it seems I need to change how I download , i.e. change the size of the file but I could not figure out how to do that.  Since you were so helpful before, I thought I would ask you.  If I am supposed to start a new query, I apologize, I am new to this community forum.
    Best regards,

  • Send Ringtone to iTunes - No worky!

I followed the procedure, iTunes opens...
That's it. No ringtone. No error message. It acts as though it's working and simply doesn't. Any ideas?

Works fine with a local iTunes music folder... Apparently it doesn't like it when your iTunes folder is on an Airport Disk. Thpppffft!
