GarageBand 08 "hissing" sound

I recorded a vocal narrative (no effects) using a Logitech microphone. Sounds good when I play it back in GarageBand by itself. But when I add a mp3 file with background music an audible "hiss" seems to appear. You can still hear the vocal fine - but the hissing sound is distracting. I can't seem to eliminate the hiss.
The hiss is not present when the vocal file is played by itself, nor is the hiss present when the mp3 music file is played. But when you put them together the hiss appears. I have tried to lower the upper hz ranges with the equalizer, but this really hasn't helped. Any suggestions on how I could eliminate the hiss?

OK thanks for responding - I tried it with the record enabled "off" for both tracks and "on" for both tracks. (I think you mean the small red dot that you can turn off and on within the individual track) I still have the hiss. Also, the hiss is present when you export/share it out iTunes or iMovie. Any other ideas would be appreciated. I just can't seem to understand why the hiss only appears once I put the tracks together? It is really odd.

  • WEIRD HISSING SOUND IN GB3

hey everyone, im having some trouble with my imac/mbox/garageband. Sounds will play out of my studio monitors through the mbox, but when i go to record, it records a really loud hiss/static. Can anyone please help me out?

Depends on how busy the store is. If you go very early, probably not. Otherwise you can make an appt. there. I would try to go at least busy times. You can also make appts. online thru the Apple.com and find that store store and then make the appointment. Go to the Apple main page, near the top click on "where to buy" and you can find it there.

  • Hissing Sound from built-in microphone

Hey guys, I've recently purchased and installed Logic on my iMac running on ML.
Without any external microphones or any other external hardware plugged into the computer, I'm getting a horrible hissing sound when I try recording something using the built-in microphone.
After two days spent trying to solve the issue, I've installed a very basic sound recording app (Audio Hijack Pro) and after hitting the record button I get the same sound.
I've tried lowering the built-in microphone volume in System Preferences but the problem persists. The problem is therefore not with the software but the built-in hardware...but I'm out of ideas!
Strange enough, I don't have the same issue using Garage Band
    Any help please?

    Go here:
    http://help.apple.com/logicpro/mac/9.1.6/en/logicpro/usermanual/#chapter=2%26sec tion=0
Read    "Configuring Your Audio Hardware"   see if it answrs your question.
Try not to equate Logic & Garageband, while they share some of the same elements Garageband tends to set things up for you, Logic being a professional programs expects the user to know how to set the program up for their particular system.
Reading the manuals and using the online help is a must.
You don't need Audio HiJack Pro, if anything it will confuse matters.

  • Hissing sound when connecting with hdmi

    Hello,
I've recently bought a new lcd tv (Sony Bravia) and I thought I'd try connecting my MacBook Air with a HDMI cable.
I bought an expensive cable (it was pretty much the only one I could find "there and then") and also bought a "mini displayport to hdmi" adaptor from Amazon (like the one advertised on the Apple store online). I also connected audio (with a standard RCA audio cable) from the out to my amplifier.
Technically, the connection works but there is a hissing sound (a high pitched continuous noise). When I disconnect one of the two cables (ie: HDMI or audio) the hissing sound goes away. And I've tried a different audio cable and the problem is the same.
I appreciate this may be a difficult one to troubleshoot remotely but any insight would be appreciated!
    thanks
PS: Front Row looks fabulous on a big display!

One possibility is that you open your computer and the television channel first. To some TV, it's no use. Maybe you can first to open the computer until after the TV showing. HDMI generally doesn't support hot swap. BTW, you can also install a *[usb to hdmi adapter|http://www.espow.com/wholesale-usb-multi-display-adapter-for-computer-a dd-on-a-second-monitor.html]*. So, if it's not OK, you can use the dvi to hdmi converter.
Sometimes, this happens in DisplayPort that have HDMI or VGA. This is from the audio chip and high-frequency sound. en,,it was a hard struggle to get a hdmi life. In this condition, we can use a *[usb to hdmi dvi adapter|http://www.espow.com/wholesale-usb-multi-display-adapter-for-computer-a dd-on-a-second-monitor.html]* to make it.

  • Hissing sound with wi-fi and power adapter connected

This is quite annoying - when the power adapter is connected and I have a w-fi connection to the internet I get intermittent 'hissing' sounds - however when I remove the lead and run off the battery this no longer happens. Does this happen to anyone else?!

What problem are you having ?
If you have the 'this iPad hasn't been backed up' message on screen and you can't remove it try a soft-resetave you tried a reset ? : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
When the iPad has restarted you can then force a backup via Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Back Up Now

  • My sound always makes this funny like hissing sound is that because my screen is cracked?

will some one plz help me find out wether its because my screen is cracked or weather its just the general ipod thats making the sound do a funny kinda hissing sound when i have the volume no matter if its my musicc or wot it does it
some one please explain to me it would be a big help i dont fancy payin for screen fixin to fix ma sound and it been nothig to do with that.

First of, are you playing this through a pair of earphones? If yes, your pair of earphones is probably busted already. Try playing with the plug and see if moving or positioning it would eliminate the hissing sound.
It can also be a matter with the tracks you have especially if they are not original content as there could be ones with low quality which in turn gives some weird sound you hear on the background.

  • Hissing sound through HDMI

Recently, I noticed a hissing noise when I connected my headphones through the audio out of my monitor. That monitor is connected via HDMI on the GPU. Even if I set the volume to zero, I can still hear it. But when I connect the earphone through the Front Panel Audio or the back on the board, no hissing noise is heard. I also tried this with my Inno3D GeForce GT 730 (HDMI) but it didn't have any hissing sound.. I suspect it was the GPU at fault. Any suggestion? I can still ask for a full product replacement.

Apologies if I didn't have the time to read the rules and posting guides.

  • Why do I get hissing sound when charging my Macbook Pro

    Hello!
Few weeks ago i noticed that on my speakers there is this hissing sound/noise coming out, but eventually it stopped. But now I changed speakers to active studio monitors and I hear hissing very well, the hissing noice is just horrible and i noticed that it only happens when I am charging my Macbook.
And one more strange thing, hissing noise doesn't happen when i use my headphones.
    Has anybody encountered

I suggest an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.
Perhaps an Apple Hardware Test may provide a clue:

  • Fizzy and hissing sound when using earphone...

I have a Macbook Pro 13 inches 2009. I use my earphone to listen music. However, when I don't play music, I can hear a fizzy and hissing sound from my earphone. I tried to use another one but there is still fizzy and hissing sound when no music is playing. I can hear that even clearer when my room is silent. I feel really annoyed about that sound.
If anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know. Any helps are appreciating...
    Thanks.
    Vu Dinh
P/S: I'm not sure if it's a software issue or hardware issue.

The problem is when I dont play music, there is still fizzy and hissing sound on my earphone. Only when I play music, the music is louder than that sound so I just hear music in that time. However, when I dont play music, there is always fizzy sound on my earphone. I already said it always happens when I put my earphone jack on Macbook Pro.
I want to know if there are any ways to fix that... It's really annoying. It's not silent at all even there is no music. Always a fizzy sound on my earphone.

  • Won´t boot up and loud hissing sound when battery is in.

Hello, I have a powerbook g4 and leopard installed. The other day the computer started making a loud hissing sound and had a black screen(it looks like is in sleep mode) won´t come out of the apparent sleep mode. If I take the battery out it stops making the loud hissing sound but everything else remains the same. Also the light in the power cord is acting werid. The only thing I got to do was to finally turn the computer off and tried for about 3 days to charge it but the powercord wasn´t working so finally it worked(after 3 days) it almost booted up but then went into the sleep coma again. (the light indicator in the cable turned off but after taking out and put in it back in the light turned on. Please help, I can´t find any good answer for this!?? thanks everyone in advance.

I just went over and looked at the computer and it seems that is making the hissing noise again even with the battery out.

I am having the same issue. I am updating to 6.1.3 to see if that helps. It is really annoying. It seems to vibrate as well as hiss on my ear piece speaker while on a call. I keep looking at the phone thinking maybe another call is coming in.
