Garageband 11 will not open in Mac os 10.7.5

I've just re-installed Ilife 11 on my Mac pro.  Movie and Photo work but Garageband doesn't.  When I launch Garageband it has a large screen open with a bunch of programming language.  It mentions celemony, propellerhead, which are not installed on the computer.
I've got the latest update of Garageband.
Processor  2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory  24 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Graphics  ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB
Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)

WHat has happened?  You have a problem that you need to fix. What does happen?  Try to
BAckup your iPhoto library, depress and hold the option and command keys while launching iPhoto until the first aid window comes up and repair permissions and if necessary rebuild your database

Foxfire froze when I tried to open email info. Had to force quit Foxfire. Could not reopen. Installed 8.0.1 Foxfire. This will not open on MAC 10.4.11

You '''can not use version 8.0.x on your 10.4.11 mac with ppc'''
    http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/8.0/system-requirements/
Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac and require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
'''latest supported version for your os is 3.6.24''' you can download from here:

For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4+ versions '''if you like''' try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11(like yours) & 10.5.8

  • Performed update to 3.6.6, and now it will not open on Mac OS 10.6.4

I performed the update to 3.6.6, and now Firefox will not open on Mac OS 10.6.4. I hope I haven't lost all my bookmarks, etc.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== after the update to 3.6.6

Using your link, I downloaded the new version. When I dragged the Firefox icon into the applications folder, it asked if I wanted the new version to replace the existing one, and I said yes. I was then told that it couldn't be done because I had insufficient privileges for some items. Is the reason for this that I didn't trash the old version BEFORE dragging the new one into the applications folder (under the assumption that "replace" meant that the old version was trashed as the new one was installed)? If not, it appears that I am back to the same problem I've had before.
Since I'll be replacing this computer soon, it seems too troublesome to bother with this update. I'd just like the update reminders to go away!

  • Keynote file will not open on Mac with older version.

I write presentations at home (Mac OSX 10.9.4  with Keynote 5.3 (1170) -  iMac Desktop
and I play them at my retail store (Mac OSX 10.4.11 with Keynote 5.03 (791) - MacMini
I must have automatically let the computer at home upgrade Keynote and now the file I have spent hours on will not open at work. <banging head on desk>.
The error I get is "unable to open because this is not a valid keynote document".
My Mac Mini says everything is up to date so I don't believe I can update anymore.  I do believe i have an iWork disc somewhere and I guess I could try and go BACK on my iMac, but I am not even sure how to do that without goofing up my entire computer.
    Ideas?

I do believe i have an iWork disc somewhere and I guess I could try and go BACK on my iMac
Unless you have manually deleted Keynote 5, it is retained in the Applications folder in iWorks 09 folder.
If it is no longer installed, use the install discs to re-install and follow the onscreen instructions.

  • Bridge will not open after Mac OSX update

Hi, I updated to Mac OSX 10.9.5 yesterday, and now Bridge CC will not open.  What should I do?

I'm not familiar with Lr, not having used it since trying it and thoroughly hating it when I tried when it first came out, but…  I'm not quite clear what you mean by "open in Bridge".
Bridge doesn't "open" anything, so I suspect you mean open in Adobe Camera Raw hosted by Bridge.  Bridge is just a file browser, and as such it doesn't open, edit, manipulate or save anything; it just hands the file(s) to the appropriate application, whether that be Photoshop, Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or even something like MS Word.
Perhaps you need to re-establish the file association at the OS X level.  What happens when you bypass Lr altogether and just double-click on a raw file in the Finder?

  • InDesign will not open on Mac

InDesing will not open on my Mac. I have read its because of Maverick. I updated Java which was reccomened but its still not opening. Illustrator and Photoshop are fine. Please help!

  • IPhoto will not open after Mac App update ......saying Prokit is incompatible.

I upgraded on my iMac, as suggested through new updates in my Mac apps store, several apps - including iPhoto.  And now, my iPhoto, which worked 2 weeks ago will not open saying is not compatible with ProKit.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled ProKit....to which every time I am told I have a higher version already in the system?  I have used my Time Machine back up and with same result.  I had purchased the new iPhoto through the App Store thinking it would help....and have reinstalled many times with no result.
This is the note I get:
    Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'RunTimeThemeRefForBundleIdentifier() couldn't find AppThemeBits.car in bundle with identifier: com.apple.iLifeKit'
My Aperture is working, but no iPhoto. Please help.

Also, I have reinstalled my Operating System with no results.

  • Itunes will not open in mac

After software update, itunes will not open. dialog box states that quicktime must be 7.55

Software update should have updated Itunes and Quicktime. Try software update again and see if Quicktime gets an update. If not. Go to apple page, support, downloads and type in Quicktime 7.5.5 and download it.

  • After transferring GB2 files from an computer, GarageBand 3 will not open.

I'm in the process of switching from a iMac G5 running OS 10.3.9 and Garageband 2 to an Intel iMac running 10.4.5 and Garageband 3.
Since transferring all of my old user data, (but NOT applications,) from the old mac using the Migration Assistant, I can not open up Garageband 3 in the migrated user account.
    It begins to initialize, but gives the error;
    "The application GarageBand quit unexpectedly
Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.
Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple."
Garageband 3 still opens up in all of the user accounts that were native to the system. It's just this migrated user account, (with a year's worth of recorded music,) that's giving it trouble.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Specifics would help too. I can follow directions, but don't know my way around OSX particularly well when it comes to troubleshooting.

My experience says try this first. Get rid of the prefrences for GarageBand in the migrated user account. Go to the ID's Home directory, "Hard drive name":Users:"UserID":Library:Prefrences", and move them to the trash. Don't MT trash just in case. Then open GarageBand and see if it works.
If that doesn't work, a work around would be to move the files into the Users:Shared Folder. Then you can open them with any other ID. In order to save you'll have to 'save as' and pick a new location since any User other than the author will have no rights to alter the files. (That can be changed too but not sure how deep you want to go with this. It gets into altering rights to the files themselves) Hope this helps.
    Thank you for your time,

  • IMove all of a sudden will not open on Mac Pro

iMovie will not run on my MacPro. It has in the past. The window I get says that it requires a graphics card that is compatible with Quartz Extreme. One or more of your graphics cards does not support Quartz Extreme. What? It runs fine on my Mac Book Pro and even my old imac. Any ideas? I am stumped. I have not changed my graphics cards in my MacPro so why won't it run? Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Having the same problem with it either not opening, freezing on opening, or opening and then half of the clips are missing, won't display, projects are missing, etc. Tried all of the fixes listed here to no avail. I've been searching all over the iMovie 08 forum and this problem is posted in several different threads. It appears to be a growing problem for users of 10.5.3. One post had you throw out a preference file, I tried that too but nothing in any of these posts is working. Any other ideas?

Well, how about delete the entire Microsoft 2008 folder and get it back from the "Time Mchine" backup if you got one. Did you ever back-up your system?
It doesn't have to be a recent backyp, any backup from TM or CarbonCopyClone will do the trick. Or copy the entire directory folder of MS 2008 on a flush stick and move it/copy it on a OS X 10.5 machine into the Applications folder like your were before you got the 10.6 upgrade and see if works there. If you don't have the Microsoft 2008 disk or some old backyps or some 10.5 system running you are out of luck. There is no way to reinstall without any of these.

Howard you will want to install Illustrator not copy it from one computer to another.  Please removed what you have copied and download a fresh copy of the installation files from Download CS5 products.  If you need to locate your registered serial number it will be located at http://www.adobe.com/.  You can find details on how to locate your registered serial number at Find your serial number quickly.

  • Version 4 will not open with Mac G4 System10.5.8 Replace ver3 now no Firefox at all . How do I get back to Ver 3 or get Ver 4 to open

I down loaded Firefox 4 to my Mac Laptop G4 running operating system 10.5.8, 1.67ghz, 2gig ram. When install it in the applicatiion folder I replaced the version 3.6x that I was using. When I try to open Ver 4 I get an error message that iy cant open because it is not supported on this architecture. How do I get it to open or how do I get back to version 3.6x So i dont loose all my bookmark. For some reason Firefox on my backup disk says it has an error code and can not load

Sorry, but as you discovered, Firefox 4+ no longer support the PowerPC CPUs.
I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong with the reinstall. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 from here: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Does that work (i.e., pick up your profile automatically)?
There's also an unofficial build using Firefox 5 code adapted to the PPC platform. You can read about that here: http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
