GarageBand 3 - Split command deletes the 2nd half of a track

I want to divide an audio track into two sections at the playhead. I've tried the split command, and it does split the track - but the second half of the track appears to be deleted. Looking on other help topics, it doesn't seem like other people are experiencing this behavior.
Is there a way to split a track and keep both sections?

Are you attempting to divide a software instrument track or a real instrument track?
If you're referring to a software instrument track where you are splitting a single note, then the second portion of the track will disappear, in my experience.
However, if you are splitting a real instrument track, the second half should not be deleted as the other posted noted.

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, so unless you copied it over to the Books part of your computer's iTunes library before you deleted it (in which case case you could sync it back to your phone), then you will need to try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download of it : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

How do I edit/delete the same section of multiple tracks?

Basically I'm doing a podcast with multiple voice tracks. Once I sync and line everything up, I still have sections of audio I want to take out. But obviously with the tracks synced, I need to delete it from all of them at once and have the audio "snap" back in place. How do I accomplish this?

Enable the "Arrangement Track" and define arrangement regions. Then you can delete and move regions across all tracks at once.

"set cert delete" command deleting the wrong cert

We have a scenario where we are trying to automate tomcat cert deletions. The issue is that even though in the GUI, the certs have the names spelled differently (one is capitalized, one is not, but spelled the same) the "set cert delete tomcat-trust name" deletes both.
example:
cert names
testcert.pem
TESTCERT.pem
since we are trying to automate this, having TAC use root access to delete in reference to the PKID doesn't help. Any other ideas?

The Indentation (The space before a statement) is very important in WLST because the control statements like if{} and Loops like for{} and while{} starts and ends based on the Indentation.

2nd: How to get rid of a program? Some seem to come with an uninstall file in the folder. Others do not. Will it require dragging the application and its files to the trash? or will that be incomplete? Thanks.

Most files will let you delete with the delete key if highlighted. I mostly right click on a file and choose Move To Trash.
Depending on what program it is determines how to delete it. Some are just as simple as moving to the trash. Some have uninstallers which remove them. It's best to google each application when you want to delete one to find out if it has an uninstaller and how to completely remove them. I always check to be sure to completely remove it.

Garageband Newbie: Splitting 1 file into 2 or more?

Let's say I have a 3 minute recording, all currently 1 track or file. I've got dead spaces where I want to split the recording into 3 separate files to import into iTunes. What command do I use and where do I find it? I read through the manual but must be missing it somewhere. Thank you!

select the region(s) you wish to split and use the split command until the section(s) can be copied and pasted in the manner you desire. highlight the stuff to be copied then use the copy command. create a new song file exactly like the one you copied from and then paste the parts into place. repeat for each section you wish to split. export from your 3 new files into itunes with share. hope that helps.

GarageBand error after data transfer that states "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version of GarageBand before opening this song". Please Help!

I recently had a data transfer from my older mac to my newer one. After the transfer I logged into my new account and opened up my GarageBand. It worked perfectly fine, however when I logged into my old account with all my older data that I just transferred over, I could not open my GarageBand files and there is an error that states "GarageBand error after data transfer that states "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version of GarageBand before opening this song".If anyone could please help me with this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank You!

When you transferred your data from your old mac, you may have accidentally transferred an older GarageBand version and either overwritten your newer version, or your old account still has the old GarageBand icon in the Dock.
Search with SpotLight, if you have more than one Garageband version on your new Mac (type "GarageBand" into the SpotLight search field). Does it list more than one GarageBand version? Then delete the older GarageBand.app.
What GarageBand version have you been using at your old mac, and what is the version on your new mac? If it has been bought recently, it should have come with GarageBand '11.

Hi,
It seems wrong data entered for EAN.
first you change *** to HR and then you select the changed HR UOM and delete them.
Now you wont face any issue.

Eg: Cost Ctr 1001 is assigned to Splitting Str Z1... Tick the Check box against 1001 under Z1 Splitting Str
Step 2: Do a Single Click on the text "Non Assigned Cost Centers"
Step 3: Press Shift +F6 (Or Click on the Assign Button, next to the Pencil icon)

Mid 2011 macbook air. command key has popped off and is now missing the 2nd metal bar. can this be replaced?

The command key popped off my mid 2011 macbook air. It is meant to have two metal bars but can't find the 2nd one. I have clicked it back into place but if I press the button at the bottom the top pops up and I'm worried that if I don't fix the problem I may end up losing the key altogether!

You won't see anything in the Application Support --> Bootcamp folder unless you have previously downloaded the Windows Support Software. Good find.
ADDENDUM STEP:
This step should be placed between 9-10.
Open Bootcamp Assistant. Uncheck everything BUT, "DOWNLOAD THE LATEST WINDOWS SUPPORT SOFTWARE FROM APPLE". You will be prompted to burn the image to a CD/DVD or save to a USB Key. Save the image to a USB key. This will format your USB key properly in preparation for the files. The download commences and if you're lucky, the files will simply be saved to your USB key without having to manually copy them over to the key using the steps above.
IMPORTANT - Even if the support software hangs when its being saved to the USB key, you should now be able to navigate to the directory and see the image. Follow the steps above.

For the 2nd day my iPhone 5 will not let me download updates for apps. When i click update, it acts as if it is going to update but puts all apps in "waiting" status. I've tried selecting each, as well as deleting and re-downloading but to no avail.

Also have shut the phone down and have even deleting the apps completely and re-downloaded but to no avail. Each app continues to sit on my screen with the line below as if it is about to download but never does, and now any apps I've tried to updated will not let me use them.

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!
I hope this helps, because it was incredibly frustrating. Good luck!
