Garageband 4.1.2 (248.7) Not Recognizing Battery 3 as Installed

I did a clean install of Battery 3 into my applications folder, and it worked fine, and used to appear in the instrument generator. Now, when I attempt to open garageband I get the following message, "The Plug-in named Battery 3 isn't available on your system"
(1) This problem happens everytime I try to open Garageband files that I had used Battery 3 with
(2) An error message (no error #) appears, the exact wording is, ""The Plug-in named Battery 3 isn't available on your system/ Choose another plug-in, or quit GarageBand and install the plug-in on your computer in order to use it in the project"
(3) This problem happened on this computer recently, as it worked before
(4) The problem occurs in plug-in mode, because Battery 3 opens fine when I click on it
(5) Garageband Does recognize the other NI plugins such as Mr. Sax, & Mr. Trumpet in Kontakt3, and it also reads Kontakt2, but not Battery 3.
(6) THe only troubleshooting step I knew was to completely UNINSTALL Battery 3, and Reinstall with the latest Service Center package which I did in my Applications folder. UN-installing/RE-installing DID NOT WORK - SAME PROBLEM
(7) I looked at hangtimes tutorial on installing plug ins, so I dragged the Battery 3 Folder according to those instructions to no avail
(8)Something else I found strange is that the Preferences on the garageband menu is greyed out

SOLVED:
Def an NI issue, not GB. I moved the app folder somewhere else, and needed to get the latest Service Center, plus I needed to download the latest version.
ALSO, this was a prob :
I had 2 service centers installed , when there should
be only one Service Center application.
I deletes the "NI Service Center Folder" from the following location:
"Macintosn HD/ Applications/ _ "
And left me with the one service center , which is located at:
Macintosh HD/ Applications/ Native Instruments/ Service Center/ ServiceCenter.app
So I UNINSTALLED/REINSTALLED , and left the folder intact.
GB recogs all my old Battery 3 Tracks

Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com. Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan. Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans. Restart computer.
Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive

Itunes not recognizing my devices after installing 11.1.4

As per itunes message to update to latest version, I updated to 11.1.4 on my PC. I'm running windows 8.1, 64 bit. After updating and restarting computer, itunes will not recognize any of my devices. iphone4s, ipod touch 5g, ipod touch 4g. The devices "are" recognized on the computer when plugged in via usb. I guess this would indicate that the usb cables and the drivers are good.
All of my itunes libraries for the associated devices open up just fine. All of the contents are in tact. It's just that the device is not recognized in itunes when opened. Any suggestions would be much appeciated.

It appears that the 64bit install messed up the device drivers for the Apple mobilie devices connecting as USB.
I tried many things, I may have missed a step below. But the following is what I believe was the fix - since it worked on a 2nd PC.
Make sure you are using an administrator account. Any of them on your machine will do for the following
a) Get Windows to restart the drivers:
    - disconnect your USB device and close ITunes
    - connect your USB device
    - if ITunes loads, close it.
b) File explorer:
Open File explorer and browse to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
In that folder there should be a set of files named "usbaapl64...."
right click on the one ending in "INF"
Select Install. It's very quick.
remove the USB device
c) Restart the computer.
When you login again, load ITunes before you attach your USB device.

New battery, did SMC reset - still not recognizing battery

I have a black 13" macbook - about 4-5 yrs. old. Original battery died and swelled. Got a new battery. Macbook was not recognizing it. Did SMC reset. Solved problem temporarily. For a few days everything worked fine, I charged fully, allowed to drain fully, and used normally. After a few days, X over battery icon, no battery found in system profiler. Did SMC reset again, this time with Option key pressed per a post on this forum. Worked for a few days. Keeps happening. I do the SMC reset, the system works fine for anywhere from a few minutes to a few days, but inevitably the X appears and macbook does not recognize the battery. I have read posts all over the internet of similar problems. Is there a design flaw in the hardware? What is going on, and how do I fix it?

Where did you get the new battery? It seems likely that it's defective. Return it and get another one.

MacBook5,1 Not recognizing battery running on snow leopard 10.6.4

OK, so my MacBook5,1's battery began not being recognized by my MacBook very soon after Updating to Snow leopard 10.6.4 It is the factory battery and the macbook will run when plugged into the magsafe adapter. i have tried an SMC reset, tried taking battery out multiple times. The info posted in the system profiler regarding the situation is posted below. can anyone help me understand what's going down. is downgrading back to leopard a good idea or a potential fix?

Perhaps a third parrty Safari add on that was compatible with the prior version of Safari but not 5.1 that's preventing pages to render as they should.

Hard drive not recognized when trying to install windows

Compaq nx6320 laptop does not see the hard drive. HD is good outside the laptop. The HD is seen by CDROM disk utilities.

HP Officejet Pro L7580 not recognized and unable to install

Hello everyone,
We purchased a MacBook Pro and for sometime we had it connected to our HP Officejet Pro L7580 using its usb connection. This MacBook Pro is running Mountain Lion software with the current printer update. We moved and relocated our printer to a more suitable room. In our house we have two routers. Our main router is Actiontec MI424-WR and the secondary router is Dlink DIR 655. The Dlink is connected lan-to-lan with Actiontec. The printer is connected to Dlink router which is downstairs. I have spent considerable amount of time figuring out why our MacBook Pro doesn't recognize this printer. We have other computers at home that runs in unix (Ubuntu) and windows (Windows 7) and those computers are able to print, scan, and fax to this computer without problems. The connections to all computers are the same which is wireless. I have read a lot post in this community and as well as HP community and it doesn't provide any solution to this problem. I am able to ping this printer from the MacBook with no problem. When I install this printer using ip method the scan option is not there. However if I bring the computer downstairs and install it using usb the scan option appears. I am thinking that HP didn't provide a driver for scan option if you're connected wireless or ethernet. But I found out that the current drivers for mountain lion for this particular printer has a scan capability. I need some help in figuring out what's going on with this. I would like to be able to scan using this laptop where I don't have to physically connect it to the scanner. I am completely lost with Mac.

Macbook Pro Late 2008 not recognizing battery and not charging

i really need some help please
i have a Macbook pro 15" Late 2008 running os x 10.7.4
i will say briefly how did the problem begin and what is the problem
it stopped charging for some reason the magsafe light was (and still is) dim green and at the battery icon it said not charging but after a couple of hours that it was turned off and connected i found out it is charging really slowly
later on that week
i was using an app called DSLR remote connected to my camera i left my macbook on the table outside connected via usb to my camera waited on it and came back
when i came back my mac was out of battery
i took it in hook it up to the magsafe nada nothing not charging dim light
so what i did i knew my magsafe charger is ready to be changed so i bought a new one
tried it same problem
later on did an smc reset
it did turn on biw the fans are really loud the battery icon (x) and it said no batteries available
so i tried my old fastly drained battery it used to hold up about 1-2 hours then i bought another battery but that was in the past
so i tried both batteries smc reseting with both same result
the smcfancontrol app says fan speed 000 rpm and temoerature 0 C
and one more thing when the mac is off and not connected to the magsafe i click on the battery indicator light on the left side i get a flashing light (battery empty needs to be charged) when i connect the magsafe it stops working even when its off and while its just connected
so it is and SMC problem
it has been like that for the past 4 weeks or so
i really need some help
and im from israel so no apple genius bars around =_= and i have a good technical knowledge

anyway its a hardware faliure of some sort i'll need to check it my self but now im almost sure its not software because i've tried many things
my other option is to run it off a battery
the thing is my battery is out so when its attached the battey indicator lights do work (they are controled by the SMC) that might solve it too

Tried registering CS6 serial #, yet Adobe is not recognizing #. Why? Installed ok w/ it.

I had to reinstall my entire CS6 after a crash. Got my number through company I purchased the program. Went onto Adobe to download entire set. But discovered my CS6 was not registered. So I decided to do so. BUT it didn't recognize my serial number, when I've just installed my programs with it.

IBook not recognizing battery

My ibook 366 indigo doesnt recognizes its battery, even when its plugged in, I have Mac os 10.3 and updating it to Mac os 10.3.9. Any ideas?

All rechargeable batteries have a finite life and just need careful disposal once they no longer hold any charge (contact your local council about battery disposal).
I believe that if you buy a battery on eBay the chances are that it'll be the same age and use as the one you have now and hence a con. Go to a reputable seller like OWC.

Gnome-power-manager not recognizing battery

Gnome-power-manager seems to act as if I have no battery whatsoever, and, when I am on battery power, keeps saying that I am running on AC power, despite the fact that both typing "acpi" into a terminal and the battery monitor applet give the correct state. I do have the dbus and acpid daemons running (they're in my rc.conf), and my laptop is an Acer Aspire 3618AWLCI.
Does anyone know what I could do? I would much rather use gnome-power manager than the batter monitor applet.

I realized that my problem since the update is that hald crashes after the session is launched. noamsml, did you check that hald is running on your laptop ?

Mini not recognized by iTunes, only charges

My Ipod mini will not show up on iTunes or just in general on my computer at all. I am connecting it through a USB port that I use mainly to make sure it has power and everything else. I've read the entire troubleshooting page on how to fix it and I've tried everything on there except the Ipod Restore because its impossible to restore my Ipod if it isn't recognized at all. I just got my Ipod and I really want to use it, so if anyone could give me some help it would b greatly appreciated.

My iPod is not appearing in iTunes or explorer. Only when I go to hardware manager windows admits that there is something that is not installed properly. But when I start the hardware manager and put in the CD as required by the hardware assistant it says: Hardware couldn’t be installed.
So it is not even possible to reset my iPod, because is not recognized by the iPod Updater. I had to go to another computer to reset the iPod. After that my computer is still not recognizing it. So installed the latest version of iTunes and Updater, but it doesn’t help. I installed also the latest drivers for my computer, but it did not work. Running the iPod in disc mode doesn’t change anything, too.
The iPod is not listed under disc management so I can’t change the Drive from E to G.
I tried the inactivation of all Microsoft-services according to the protocol from the apple web page, but it did not work, even after installing the latest version of iTunes.
I've read the entire troubleshooting page on how to fix it.
The message on the iPod mini display is always the same when I connect it: “do not disconnect” and after about 3 seconds “OK to disconnect”. But the iPod is never listed in windows explorer or iTunes. I also reseted it, when it was connected to the computer. It doens't seem to charge on any of the USB2.0 ports.
I completely run out ideas and I am about to send it to service.
Can anyone help?

USB device not recognized in Windows 7?

I have the strangest problem I've yet to encounter with my computer.
As you may have guessed from the title, I am constantly getting the message displayed. Any fix that has been suggested has been unhelpful or worked for a bit until my computer restarted again (I'll get to that)
First off it started when I noticed my mouse pointer was acting very weird, it was just a vertical line of dots. A forum said an easy fix to the problem was to update my GPU drivers, which I needed to do anyway. So after an update to the GPU drivers
I log into my computer (which is password protected, this is slightly important to remember) and I try to go to youtube. I click down at the start menu to type in chrome and nothing appeared. I was able to move the mouse around and click on things
but I was unable to type anything.
Luckily for me I have a laptop as well so I checked for any solutions on my laptop and they said that it was a problem with the model of my keyboard specifically This was odd to me considering most of the problems happened OTB for the keyboard and not
a month after use, plus I was able to plug it into my laptop and it worked just fine. When I plugged it back into my desktop it gave me the same problem: I couldn't type anything, I also noticed the little pop-up informing me that the USB device was
not recognized. "Well, great, time to get my backup keyboard," I thought to myself. Except, that was not the case either. I plugged my backup keyboard into every single USB port on my Computer Tower, even going so far as to unplug
the mouse. Absolutely nothing was working. I constantly restarted my computer and each time got the same problem; I'm able to type in my password to log in and then a few minutes after that the USB device stops working. Sometimes after plugging
one of the keyboards back into a USB port I would get a message saying it was installing drivers; and then would fail in installing any.
After a bit I navigate through the menus with just my mouse and do a system restore to before the GPU drivers were installed. After that, I started windows in SafeMode and then turned my computer off. Finally, I unplugged my computer completely
of all plugs (including my power plug), waited a few minutes, then plugged everything back in again. Amazingly, this fixed the problem, but then it got worse.
After about an hour of gaming, my computer BSOD's, most likely because I decided to alt+tab out of Tomb Raider during a loading screen to stop a video I had on. I restart my computer again, and then the problem returns, only this time absolutely
no USB devices work except my one keyboard. The backup keyboard, and both my regular mouse and backup mouse stop working a few minutes after logging in. I try to fix the problem like before, but to no avail. Any USB device I plug in either
gives me the "USB device not recognized" or attempts to install the drivers and then fails.
If there is ANY way to fix this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Try cleaning the connector on the bottom of the phone. Use a magnifying glass to see what is stuck inside, a dry toothbrush and/or wood or plastic toothpicks (nothing metal). If that doesn't resolve the problem your phone is broken.

I did install from the disk image you referenced and it worked. I still haven't been able to print wirelessly, but now that I have the correct PPD, I should be able to figure out the rest.
As for my OS, I misspoke. The PowerBook IS running 10.4.11. I work on a lot of different machines and sometimes I forget which was the latest build of the OS on the machine I'm working on at the time. Ah, the senior moments.
Anyway, thanks for pointing me to the download that solved the problem at hand. Now, on to the next issue ;-)
