Anyone have experience with Edirol UA-25 connected to a Macbook? Problem I'm having is with sound delay.

i'm having the same issues. on 2 separate machines. imac with OSX 10.6.8 and MBP with 10.8.3 it happens maybe 3 mins into playing or if i swap out amps. i usually have to reboot the whole machine to get it working.

  • Skype Robotic Sounds & Voice Delay Problems

    Hi
I've recently downloaded the latest version of Skype. Although others can hear me very clearly (and have no problems with other Skype users) the sound on my side comes through as garbled and robotic noises.
Any idea what steps I can take to try and troubleshoot this? My internet connection is fine and I have no other programmes running in the background.
    Thanks
    Nick

    Hi all,
I am having a similar problem with my Mac Air computer... Sometimes, when I run the skype and try to talk with someone, the person that is trying to hear me cannot... My voice appear as a robotic and Its impossible to have a conversation... The other person cannot hear anything that I am trying to say... At the first time I thought is a memory problem... But without a background program and anything, the problem continues...
Could someone help me on it?
    Thaks a lot.

  • Sound latency in Director 11.5

My project utilizes brief (< 1 second) sound files in close succession. Sound latency (delay between files) must be very low, and all versions of Director from 6 through MX 2004 have provided excellent performance. Now that I've "upgraded" to 11.5 I find that latency has increased to unacceptable levels. Does anybody know what has changed and what--if any--solutions exist?
    Thanks,
    Bruce
Mac PowerBook 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo
    4 GB Ram
    Director 11.5
    OS 10.7.1 (Lion)
    quickTimeVersion(): 7.7062
    the soundDevice: "CoreAudio"

Talking about Director Shockwave and sound latency, the order is the following:
    MacroMix > QT3Mix > DirectSound
So if you set _sound.soundDevice = "DirectSound", you'll get the best latency (1-2ms).
Of course, you'll need a decent sound card (Creative Audigy for example).
The main problem is that DirectSound is available on Windows only.
    cheers

  • How to fix the delay problem while recording? Can't set the Latency to 0. Win7, CS6,Realtek,C03u Mic

I am using Win7, with CS6, Realtek soundcard and Samson C03U microphone.
There is a problem that's really been bothering me. When I record songs the recorded audio always comes 0.1 seconds after where it's supposed to be and I need to fix the problem every time. How to fix the delay problem while recording? I can't set the Latency to zero. The minimum is 30ms and I still get an obvious delay.
I saw some previous discussions saying that installing ASIO would help. Is it gonna work on my PC?
    Thank you in advance guys.

You probably should look at a more 'serious' audio interface rather than the Realtek
Yes ASIO drivers are the way to go
If you want zero latency you need to monitor via your audio hardware (hence the 'serious' audio interface suggestion)
There are a heap of reasonable audio interfaces which will do the job for you that are pretty inexpensive and I'm sure that someone will jump in with a suggestion

  • Sound Delay Problem in 3D Games

Ever since i upgraded from win98 to winXp on my previous pc (AMD Athlon 1200, onboard sound, VIA chipset) the sound delays for about 1 sec from the graphics at 3D games. I have excactly the same problem with my current pc (check my signature). It doesn't always happen but it's very anoying when for example you see the gunshot on the screen and after 1 sec you hear the gunshot sound. The problem appears only when there is an animation going in the game with the game's 3D engine but it doesn't always happen. In 3D Mark 2003 however the problem appears always at the first game test (the one with the plane dogfights). I used a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 with my current pc but same problem. Any help will be apreciated thank you.

    Hello
Have you installed any nvida chipset drivers?
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_4.27
Your Windows XP, do you have service pack1a installed?
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp1/network.mspx
It says network installation, that is the full version download.

  • Latency/Delay is KILLING ME.

So for some time I've been having some serious problems with latency/delay issues and it has finally left my computer basically worthless for recording music. There has always been some delay, but it was never too difficult to just line up the regions where they needed to be in relation to the metronome or other instruments, but Garageband has now taken to trying to speed up in the middle of recording. So sometimes the beginning of an audio clip will be at the right speed but it will speed up a little into it and cause it to change pitch, which is how I know it's not just a mistake by the musician. This renders the clip worthless. And it's beginning to do this every time. I need help. Any ideas? Thank you so much.

It is near to impossible to record into one session and paste pieces into a new one. Even a small discrepancy could mess off your timing.
It is better to record one large session with multiple tracks. Even on my G4 iBook I have done up to 20 tracks without difficulty. Some pointers:
    1. If timing is exact through the song use a drum loop as a click track. You can use a metronome but a drum loop helps you 'get in the groove.' When all track are done you can delete or mute the click track.
    2. Record dry (no effects) so your timing can be exact. Delays and reverb can throw off your timing as well as be a strain on your processor if They are activated for many tracks. Some effects are heavy processor hitters
    3. Watch your playhead (the moving triangle) as you record. If it is always turning orange or red you are pushing your processor. It should remain white.
MacBooks and iBooks have special energy saver settings that drastically effect Garageband performance. Make sure your energy saver is not set to the 'best battery life' setting. You need the high performance setting to get the best from Garageband which is a processor hogging app.

  • High sound latency [SOLVED]

    Hello all,
I've recently started trying out Arch Linux with KDEmod, and I find that I like the simplicity of the system. I do have a few glitches that need to be worked out, but I'm making good progress. One annoying problem that I do have is that playing sounds seem to have a high latency.
It seems that whenever a notification dialog that plays a sound appears, I see the dialog and then anywhere from one to three seconds later I hear the associated notification sound. In the time between when the dialog appears and when the sound plays the machine does nothing - I cannot even move the mouse. Other than this problem, the sound plays fine.
In the KDE Control Center, I've gone to Sound & Multimedia->Sound System and tried with skip prevention both enabled and disabled, but I still have the same problem. Does anyone have any ideas on how I make the sound system a little bit more responsive?
I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 running the stock kernel 2.6.21-ARCH. For the sound card, the lspci utility reports:
00:1e.2 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03)
for the sound card. For a while I used openSUSE on this same machine and it did not have the same sound latency problem, so I have to think there is some configuration that I am missing.
I thank you for any suggestions that you might have.
    Regards,
    jbro

Could you please elaborate? I am not using esd or the arts daemons, so I should be using ALSA directly, as far as I can tell. I have tried turning off the KDE sound system in the Control Panel thinking I could avoid any servers that KDE uses, but then I get no sound, of course. If KDE automatically uses arts, then I'm not too sure about how to turn it off and go directly to ALSA. Any pointers to documentation would be great.
    Thanks.
Arts is _very_ bad, dont use it (just my opinion)
Fortunately, you can specify another program instead of arts to play your sounds.
At first, open kcontrol and disable the sound system. Then open the system notifications entry and click on player settings at the lower right. In the upcoming window, set to use an external player and put the "play" command into the line (you can also use other players like ogg123, but play has the benefit that it plays nearly everything. Its in the sox package).
This will play sounds without those funky lags that happen with arts, except your hdd is working hard...

  • PSE 7+ Sudden Animation Time Delay problem?

I've been using Photoshop Elements 7+ for a long time now. And I've been able to make animations with it. Such as can bee seen on this url: http://i47.tinypic.com/35iumww.gif I know how to change the Time/Frame delay settings quite fine. But as of today my time delay hasn't been working. This is quite random considering I haven't done any kind of updating or editing to the program in general. When trying to set the time delay to 0.15 and clicking the preview button, I find that my animation is as at the default number's speed, 2. Upon changing the time delay many different times, from 0 to 10 (the min and the max), the animation's speed still doesn't change.  I'm at the end of my rope with this and none of my PSE educationed associates know what could possibly be wrong. I did download two fonts today, but that's it. So unless someone might be able to figure out what's changed, then I might have to try and re-install the program. Something I don't want to do. I have a visual if that's of any help.

Also, I am using a Mac.

Which version are you using now? You can't be using PSE 7 on a mac, because there is no PSE 7 for mac. The frame delay problem exists in the mac versions 6 through 10. You can either upgrade to PSE 11 or use a program like the free giffun from stone.com to assemble the gif and set the frame rate.

  • What I've noticed about the Video Delay Problem of...

I was able to take a look at my old vids from way back V110. I've noticed everytime they improved the camera pictures, the video & audio sync suffer. My old videos didn't have audio delay problems even if they were more than a minute long.

I ordered 2 iPhone 4's from the AT&T Premier site on July 9 (my company has an agreement with AT&T). My credit card company immediately flagged the purchase as possible fraud, so it took a day or two to clear that up. The order went to "Processing" status on the AT&T Premier site on July 12. It stayed in that status until yesterday, July 20, when it changed to a status of "Shipped" and I got an email from AT&T with the FedEx tracking number. FedEx says that the phones shipped from Texas yesterday night and are on schedule to be delivered to me in Connecticut today (July 21). That's only 8 business days and includes the screw up from my credit card company - better than I expected. The "Processing" time probably included the time it took to ship the phones from Apple's factory in China to the AT&T facility in Texas.
By the way, here's the deal I got from AT&T Premier:
    $38.50 - 550 shared minute plan (1st iPhone)
    $ 9.99 - Additional line (2nd iPhone)
    $19.25 - 2Gb personal data (1st iPhone)
    $19.25 - 2Gb personal data (2nd iPhone)
$ 0.00 - pay as you go texting

Amazing! I'm a dance instructor and am doing the exact same thing as you - and not seeing what I need on my iPad Air ... I can't believe there has been no reply on this! I also can't believe there isn't an easy way of seeing track info in the iPad or iPhone but I've spent hours searching and am not finding anything

  • HT6114 Delaying problem when switching desktop

After upgrading to Mavericks v10.9.2 Update my "Macbook pro Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013" is delaying when switching desktops or switching to mission control. An overall delay problems occured. I need help!

First off, I meant to title this "When switching spaces application window is not showing."
Just in case anyone else runs into this problem or any other weirdness with switching between spaces, the answer seems to be trashing the com.apple.dock.plist file and then restarting the dock. The preferences file can evidentially get corrupted and create some problems. Spaces does not have it's own plist file but stores it's data in the dock's plist file. Be warned that this will reset all of your dock preferences including which apps you have on the dock.

i recently buy an apple iphone 4s.the problem is that when i started music player on my iphone the speaker is not outputting the sound.and when i lock the phone at the same time the sound starts.thos problem is from last 3 days.and i am really confused???

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

you're going to have to check the version number again, there is no v11.04, the latest is v6.0.5

  • Latencies / delay in live streams

I'm doing some tests with FMS and live streaming, but I observe quite long delays.
When the stream is first accessed, the latency is around 3-5 seconds, which is acceptable.
But as we watch the stream for about 30 minutes or more, the latency grows to around 20 seconds, which is just too much.
What settings should I look at to keep the latency / delay minimal?

You're going to want to look at the bandwidth that you're pushing into your FMS system and the bandwidth you're getting out.  Usually when you see evolving live latency it's because there's a bandwidth bottleneck somewhere and you're dropping frames and falling behind as FMS attempts to deliver a stream that's too big for the destination.  If not then perhaps it's something else, but you'll want to eliminate that possibility first as it's the most common.

  • Flash CS4 - Sound Delay problem

I wrote an educational tool with Flash CS3 that is using a
lot of sounds. Some are streamed and some are preloaded. To control
all the sound procedures, I am using the SoundFacade class provided
in the samples files of CS3 and that I slightly adapted to my
    needs.
Since I converted my application to CS4 and Flash Player 10 I
noticed after a few minutes running the application (either as a
stand alone or with a browser), that the sounds start playing after
a delay, even when preloaded. I did not have this problem with the
    previous version.
I have some actions synchronized with the sound and that are
triggered either with the “onLoadOpen” function when
streaming sound or with the “onLoadComplete” when
preloading… Now that I am running on Player v10, the delay is
    messing it up!
Is this a bug with Flash Player 10?

By the why, I'm using Flash CS4 and tested it in Flash 10 in Firefox, IE, not working.
I also tested in Flash CS3, tested in IE, Firefox, not working.
