Garageband Issue: no effects on Mac

Hi,
I was very very happy with my brand new Ipad2, I bought it especially for Garageband.
But today I've imported on my Mac (Snow Leopard 10.6.8) a Garageband project created on my Ipad 2: the notes on the tracks are ok, but there are not effects and equalization. I used Classic Clean guitar with arpeggiator, (blue echo pedal, reverb, echo), smart drums (echo and reverb) piano (reverb) and a second muted guitar with echo and reverb.
Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?

UPDATE:
I just rechecked my project... I't not an effect issue....it's a different notes issue.
In fact, comparing the tracks side by side, some notes are missing, some are different...
I'm using Garageband updated to the latest version.
Is it a bug or there's something wrong in my configuration?
Please help, (I'm still in time to return the ipad 2 to the store)

Element 3d renders using your graphics card. Unlike After Effects, what GPU you're using matters a lot for Element.
As it is, you don't really have one.
You could try rendering an image sequence and then picking up your render where it left off when it crashes, but if a certain frame is just too much for your computer to handle, there's not much we can help with. I'd suggest adding a GPU that Element can use.

How do I get GarageBand files from an older mac onto my iPad 2? I can open the GarageBand Documents folder through iTunes while the iPad is sync'd but I can't seem to "add..." any of my old .band folders to the iPad to be able to view those music projects. When I tried I could only sync individual data files contained in the .band folders over to the iPad and there was no way to organize them into .band project folders. What can I do here to get these GarageBand projects onto my iPad for further use?

This is not currently possible. You can transfer an iPad project to the Mac, and transfer songs/loops from the Mac to iPad, but not GB files from Mac to iPad.

What version of the Mac OS X are you running. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac and post the version.

You only need do this in iTunes. See iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.

If you want to erase the BootCamp Partition, you'd use the Bootcamp utility.
Then that part of the Mac's hard disk drive may be available for use in OS X.
{Or, if you want to install a clean Windows 7 in the same BootCamp partition
you'd use the BootCamp utility to erase/install Windows in the same location.
There is a BootCamp Support section in Apple Support online, and also there
is a fairly OK ASC discussions area specific to that purpose. }
But you may have to check to see if the partition map is correct for Mac OS X
after you've used Bootcamp utility to remove Windows and the partition map.
If you do not use the BootCamp utility to remove Windows, correctly or if a
different method to install Windows was used, you'd have to move your Mac
OS X system and applications off the computer to an external hard drive by
use of a clone utility (carbon copy cloner, or superduper, etc) then use the
OS X disk utility (from running clone, is easiest) to erase the computer's HD
and then correctly partition map and format the hard drive for Mac OS X.
At that point, the entire drive would be erased to reclaim any untouched
partitions from alternative Windows utilities that were used, or not used in
the time frame of proper opportunity.
I've had a few Macs that had been partitioned for Windows and found one
second hand MacBook to have more actual hard disk drive capacity than
the previous owner and the Mac HD info suggested on first glance. About
70% of the drive had been a Windows partition, but was invisible to OS X.
So that turned out to be a lucky find, it was like installing a larger HDD.

Issues Installing PSE12 on Mac OSX 10.9

I purchased and downloaded the software from Amazon and had an issue installing it that route. So I decided to try to install the trial version off of the Adobe site and then just putting in the product key that I purchased. However, neither way is working for me. When I download from Adobe's site, the page says the trial will begin to download automatically once you install the download assistant. When I install that I get stuck here:

With the Amazon route, I get stuck here, with the sign in required screen perpetually loading and never allows me a chance to enter any sign in information:

Issues with Jpegs on Mac os

I'm trying t take images directly from the cf card on a canon camera to an imac. I can view the images as thumbnails in Finder but if i double click on them i get a message that they are truncated or damaged - do i wish to continue. If i click yes and continue only a small part of the image is displayed.
If i try and use Photoshop elements 2 then i cannot open the files unless i go through the file - open menu. As there is a problem with Preview and photoshop I'm assuming that the problem is with the mac overall. If i open any of the images on a windows pc then there is no problem at all.
Does anyone have any idea how i can resolve the issue?

Hi - thanks for your reply.
I try not to use Iphoto, although it does sometimes kick in before i can cancel it. Normally, i copy the records from the card to the Imac hard drive.
I'm assuming the CF card may have been formatted by a previous windows machine at some point. Is this likely to be an issue?

Can receive mail ok
have tired rebuilding the mail box but no improvment.
i need to shut down system and restart to be able to send mail.

I tried something similar by adding a new mail account doing the apple id etc but it worked in that it would look for mail but no mail would come even though mail still goes to my phone I was loath to delete my original account just in case the new one did not work as well. So I guess I am a little stuck now.. I hope you can help me to sort it out.

Were these apps purchased from the Mac App Store? If so, open the Mac App Store (should be in the Doc).
Then go to the Purchases tab and install from there. You may need to click the Buy button, but once you do, it should remember that you have already paid.
If these apps were installed from a retail copy of iLife, you can reinstall from the DVD.

Can too large a folder cause issues and effect performace of my Mac Pro

Boot drives with even less than 50% free is probably not a good idea. All depends on whether 200GB is on 1TB or on 500GB drive. And how fragmented free space even.
Lifting, loading and writing or copying 4GB files of course does have an impact, so if you work with 2GB files in CS5....
Having a dedicated type boot drive, media drive (and isolate media and library files) as well as scratch drive is normally done with Mac Pro.
The biggest bang in performance: lean mean SSD boot drive.
