Garageband version 10.0.2 vs. version 6.0.5?

This is more of an opinion survey than anything. Just wondering how other Garageband users are finding the new version so far (version 10.0.2)? I've mostly stuck to the old one (version 6.0.5), since I know how to do everything I need to do with it. (Why change when there aren't any problems?) There are definitely a few advantages to the new one, but for my own use, there are more advantages to the old one.

Unfortunately, that statement is missing the point.
The statement is true for users that could do everything with the previous GarageBand app (assuming that there were no bugs). If that is the case, those users would keep on working with that version and would not need to deal with GarageBand X anyway. Of course, that would create a problem down the road when some new OS won't support the the old GB version anymore.
You don't have to look at yourself or the user, but at Apple, and for them there was a PROBLEM. They had to support two different app,s GarageBand and Logic. They solved that problem by eliminating the previous GB versions and continue to develop only one app, Logic Pro X. Now they only have to disable specific features in that code base and call it GarageBand. From now on, they have to continue to develop only one audio app with one code base. Problem solved. (some might owner why developing two apps is a problem when you have that much cash in the bank ... but that is a different story).
The painful truth now is that while that decision to "upgrade" to GarageBand X solved Apple's problem, it created lots of (new) problems for the user. Learning a new interface and workflow is a minor issue. The main problem is the elimination of previous features that were left on the chopping block (podcast, ducking, Plugin edits, etc.)
One could only hope that some features will come back upon popular demand <http://www.apple.com/feedback/garageband.html>.
But keep in mind that this means, in case of the podcast feature, that Apple has to add it to the Logic code base. As a Logic users, I don't see any reason why such feature would not be welcomed by the professional Logic community.
If Apple cold have moved the Podcast feature to the Logic (only) side and "force" the Podcast user to upgrade to the $200 Logic app.
But Apple is doing thing is own way, so you never know, just send your Feedback, they do listen.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. I was merely trying to take a document I had worked on and open it in pages, but it said my version was too old. When I updated, it wouldn't load. Now I cannot do anything. How do I tell what version (update / release level) of version 6 has been applied to my system? I have applied several different release levels to version 6 of FF but all the about feature tells me is Version 6.0. no version! This seems to be a change in the way updates are handled. Is that a bending because of the speed of which you're pushing out updates and new releases?

Nope, I never used Chrome, but I did try Chromium on my Windows desktop PC for a few months last year. I got tired of the Google updater. exe running all the time and Google's method of doing updates, so it's gone. I do have Chromium on my Linux EeePC since last summer, but Ubuntu handles all updates and gives the user the capability to accept or deny, any or all updates - much more to my liking, similar to the way Mozilla does it. I don't like software developers forcing to update until I am ready to proceed.
There's a lot more about this new Fast Release system, than just the lack of visible version numbers, that I don't like. The Nightly, Aurora, Beta, & Release sequence is dumb with the way it changes the version numbers. I prefer installing (for instance) what will become version 7 and have that installation progress thru the 4 stages, instead. Now it's like Nightly going from 7 to 8, Aurora going from 6 to 7, and Beta doing - hell, I won't know if it becomes a Release or if it just dies and I will have to install the Release version myself. I also dislike the UI changes in 4/5/6/7 enough that I am still using Firefox 3.6 for almost everything and Firefox 2.0.0.20 for the rest. If you just need it for one site you can use the portable version of Firefox 2 instead. You can install the portable version on a USB key, or if one is not available choose the custom install and install it somewhere on your hard drive. The portable version will not interfere with your current version of Firefox. You can get the portable version from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable - the link for Firefox 2.0.0.20 is near the bottom of that page.

Major difference is ECC6 is netwear product having WASJAVA+ABAP
secondly support unicode apart from this we have other diff. you can get fom master guide from service.sap.com/instguides
For installing ECC 6.0 you required a solution manager key.With out solutionmanager key you cannot install ECC6.0.
For ECC 6.0 is called netweaver component here you have ABAP+JAVA stack.
ECC6.0 supports UNCODE.
For installing 4.6 you don't required solution manager key.It only having ABAP stack.
4.6C supports NONUNICODE.

To do this in iMovie 11. use the SHARE menu. Share your project using the Share menu and choose Export Using QuickTime.
In the Dialog box that comes up, choose Sound to AIFF, or one of the other sound options. This will create a file that you can drag into iTubes.

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
