Hi, another little question. When I'm making a project and want to go to an other in my list of project, garageband close with autosaving and goes to the list of project. So if I have make some mod that I don't want to save, garageband save it the same. Someone knows how to exit a project and open an other without saving ? thank you
(I don't know if is the same on ipad)

Any regular way to quit the current project will autosave it on an iPad or iPhone, iPod (switching to the project view, switching to anouther app).
A brute force way to exit the current project without saving is to reset your IOS device (hold down the Home button and press the Power button at the same time, until the phone restarts). This will quit GarageBand without auto saving the current project and you can open a different one after restarting your iPhone.
I got into the habit of duplicating a project, before starting to edi it. This way I always have a backup copy to revert to, if I do not like the current version.

The reason some files sound funny and others don't is because audio is handled a few different in Garageband depending on it's source (audio your recorded vs Apple Loops vs non Apple Loop pre recorded audio). Can I export an AE comp or pre-comp to another AE project without having to rebuild or make a movie? In regard to tweaks or timing changes based on that projects' needs.

First, save the project in a different name. Delete out the comps & precomps you neither want nor need. Run AE's reduce project command to remove any unused footage, then save it again. Now you have a simplified project, which you can then import into any AE project you want.
If you like things nice & tidy, don't forget to use the replace layer (Alt-drag, Opt-drag) trick on any duplicated footage, using the footage from the project into which you import the simplified project. The alternative: just leave all the footage alone, and know you can't delete it.

How do you change project settings on Premiere Elements 12?

I have Premiere Elements 12. When I view a DVD I created of wedding photos, the edges of people and objects are jagged and generally the photos appear blurry. On my old Premiere Elements 8, I did not have this problem - the pictures on DVDs were clear and sharp. When checking the project setting on Premiere 8, the project settings for Capture was DV which changed all my settings for General and Rendering project settings. On my new Premiere 12, the Capture setting is HDV and I cannot get the General and Rendering settings to change when I change the Capture setting to DV. The online help from Adobe says to correct this, "In the New Project dialog box, click Change Settings," but when I start a new project in Premiere 12, "Adobe Premiere Element Editor" is the only dialogue box that shows and I cannot see a change setting button. Does anyone know how I can change my project settings so that when I select DV it will change all the presets for the General and Video Rendering settings?

The party line is that you cannot change project settings once the project settings have been set. You need to start a new project.
Edit Menu/Project Settings/General does not offer the opportunity for any significant project settings change in this type of situation.
I have discovered that, under certain circumstances, that the user can change the established project preset without starting a new project.
The approach to doing this involves editing the Notepad document of the saved closed project file (project.prel file). I have written about this in the following blog post.

You need to weigh the pros and cons of going through the procedure or just starting a new project and start the project again.
All of the above being said, on to setting to the correct project preset to match the properties of your source media. Please refer to the issues involved and how to set manually the project preset when the program is not doing the job correctly or best automatically.

To the specifics...if you are doing DV data capture firewire into Premiere Elements 12 Capture Window, the scenario would be...
a. Open Premiere Elements 12 to the Expert workspace, go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings. In Change Settings,
change the project preset to NTSC DV Standard or NTSC DV Widescreen depending on NTSC or PAL set up and 4:3 or 16:9 DV data source. Then before you exit that area, make sure to place a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project" in
the new project dialog. Exit that area and return to the Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace for your Add Media/DV Capture selection.
If you are doing HDV data capture firewire into Premiere Elements 12 Capture Window, then same scenario except the project preset change involves NTSC HDV HDV 1080i30 (if NTSC). In this instance, the Edit Menu/Project Settings/General should look like

Logic crashes when using the "Close Project without Saving" key command

The "Close Project without Saving" key command does not work in LP8. When I try to use it, Logic crashes. This is reproducible on my system. Can anyone try and confirm this?

For me this shortcut is quite important on stage when I have to switch songs as fast as possible. It also is foolproof because on stage I never want to save with all the controller changes I did during a performance.
Just hit the key command, load the next song, done.

Change Request without development

Is there a way to process a Change Request without actually going through development? We have a situation where some development work will actually be done in another system not linked to Solution Manager, but yet we would like to be able to manage the change request for those changes in Solution Manager. (The idea being that all change requests will be managed in the one Solution Manager system.) As our current system is setup right now, we cannot get past the status of "In Development" without actually making any development changes.
Are there any suggestions on how to by-pass this?

How did you connect theses systems to the solution manager? What did you do in transaction smsy?
Did you create a project and a maintenance cycle for the change requests of your non-sap-system?
Is therer a possibility to report theses change requests?

Other ways to add shots to a project without using Reconform

I have a 15 minute movie that has a lot of filters, motion effects, and variable speeds. I tried to follow Walter Biscardi's tutorial here...

...exporting every clip that needs it as a quicktime and reimporting the "Baked" clip, but I unfortunately didn't get them all. On top of that, my Director came to me recently and told me about 3 changes he wanted.
I made the changes and exported the new changed sequence XML and tried to Reconform in Color but it freezes up and quits every time.
Is there any way for me to make these changes to the Color project without using Reconform? Any way I can manually replace or add shots to my Color project?

Michael Sandness has better luck with Reconform than I do, in that it apparently works for him and it flat out doesn't work for me. Best advice is to work with your original sequence -- duplicate it, then TREAT THE DUPLICATE as your backup. Continue reconforming on the ORIGINAL, and export an XML that you use to reconform inside the original COLOR project.
Failing all that, don't add new clips to your original unless absolutely, pain of death, forced to do it (especially if its a locked XML sent to... FCP workflow). Instead create a new COLOR project, either by creating a new sequence with your revulsions, pardon me, revisions, and do cut and paste import/export of grades from the original COLOR project, or a whole new prject and directly import the clips. If you're not familiar with cross copying grades between projects, open the original project, save the grades that you want to copy into some easily accessible directory, save, close, open the new project, navigate to that directory, and drag/drop, click, whatever it takes.

Premiere CC corrupt project and autosaves - Is your project really saved?

My Project file has become corrupted along with the last 5 Autosaves.
It could have been an extra project I imported into this one that had a missing unlinked file in it... or the only other thing that changed on the time timeline was the use of the standard reverb plugin.
One thing that is disturbing about this is that you can be saving your project and autosaving but not knowing that your project has now become corrupted. Do we really have to go through the extra step of saving then closing down the project then reopening just to make sure we have a secure copy?
Is there anyway to recover these projects?

You can try importing the project into a new project.
I know it's too late for this advice now, but never rely on autosaves in any software application. Always save intermediately as you progress, along with backup copies.

Change project settings?

Hope somebody can help. I have almost completed a project in Photoshop Premier Elements version 8. I have foolishly selected a HD project setting instead of just widescreen. The end result is that my photos are too small (1600*900) when I want to add movement to them. Is it possible to change the project settngs at this late stage?
Alternatively, is it possible to import this project into a new one with the correct settings?

I would strongly advised you to start the project over again, using the Premiere Elements 8 project preset (new project dialog) = NTSC DV Widescreen and your photos 1600 x 900. But............
The generalization about changing project preset (new project dialog) is you cannot. But, it was shown in Premiere Elements 7 that you could change a project preset set for DV Standard to DV Widescreen (and vice versa) after the fact, by:
Saving the project .prel and then right clicking the saved project .prel and selecting Open With = WordPad to get at the project .prel document to modify certain parameters. I have done the above, and it does work. But going into the project .prel document should not be attempted if you do not know your way around such a document.
Another approach is copying the Timeline and pasting it into the Timeline of a new project prel with the appropriate project preset. Many have tried ClipMate for this purpose in earlier versions and reported issues with the copy/paste process for audio and transitions. I looked into this recently to find out for myself if this worked or not. I have found it does work for Premiere Elements 8 for video, audio, effects, and transitions. Below is a copy/paste of the report on this that I posted in my Premiere Elements 8 First Look Thread here.

I take away from online comments such as those cited above that ClipMate use for copying Timeline between Premiere Elements projects has problems in the copying of audio and transitions. In the Duke link, he suggests a workaround for the audio issue, but not one for the loss of transitions in the copying/pasting. Some may go as far to say the process works for “Premiere Elements”, but does so only sometimes and without rhyme nor reason. So, I decided to download a tryout of ClipMate 7.3 and see for myself what was going on in this matter.

1. Open ClipMate 7.3 and leave it open.
2. Then open your saved Premiere Elements 8 project .prel whose Timeline you want to copy to another new project .prel.
3. In Premiere Elements 8, Edit Menu/Select All, Edit Menu/Copy. Minimize the Premiere Elements 8’s workspace to see the ClipMate 7.3 workspace.
4. In ClipMate 7.3, Edit Menu/Capture Special. That will bring up the Capture Special dialog.
5. In the Capture Special dialog, you should find just two options for check marks. Make sure that there is a check mark next to “Premiere Elements OSClipboard Format” as well as “Premiere Exchange”, and then click OK.
6. You should then see an entry for your copy in the ClipMate list which includes: Title, Sort Key, Date/Time, Size, Source. The source should say “ADOBE PREMIER…”, not WINDOWS. Highlight that entry.
7. Go back and Maximize Premiere Elements 8 project .prel which has the material that you copied. To create the new project .prel to paste into, go to the File Menu of this current project.prel/New/Project. (I clicked Yes to the Save message that followed, just in case…). After setting up the new project dialog for the new project .prel, I was now in the new project .prel’s workspace.
8. IMPORTANT: Using minimizing and maximizing windows, go back and make sure that the ClipMate entry for the copy is highlighted. Then with the Premiere Elements 8 again maximized, go to the Premiere Elements 8 Edit Menu and select Paste Insert. The job is done, video, audio, transitions, and effects wise.
Check it out and see if you found what I observed.

Duplicate your book and try to change the theme in the copy. Chnaging the theme may change the layout of your text fileds. That is why you need the copy to be able to compare the pages before and after.
Ctrl-click the book in the Source list and select "Duplicate".
Click the "Change Theme" button in the upper right corner of the Book pane, make sure, you have the same theme selected and the same size. Click Hardcover.

Authorization to change BOM without history requirements

Hi Techies,
We are checking the design and validation of few scenarios in the testing server. During the testing we found that we are able to change the BOM which we have already changed with Change number without change number. Instead of an error message we are only getting a warning message stating the BOM has history requirements.
I found that we could do that only if we had the authorisation C_STUE_NOH assigned to the user profile.
I checked the transaction SU24 and for the transaction CS02 i found the authorisation C_STUE_NOH assigned and the authorisation proposal was YS.
I m a functional consultant and hence i m not able to come to a conclusion on this to know if this the reason which is allowing us to change the BOM without history and just providing an warning message instead of error message.

All purchases are always going to be associated to the ID that was used to purchase/download them.
If you create an ID for your daughter you will want to check everywhere it is used to make sure you are not sharing messages and stuff. These would be iTunes/app store, iCloud, iMessages, and FaceTime.
Go thru settings and find all mention of your ID.

Unable to Change Project Start Date in Project Server 2013

I have created new EPT in Project Server 2013. After that, when i am creating any new project in PWA 2013 by using newly created EPT, then i am not able to change Date as per my requirement.
Basically, EPT created on 02/18/2015 & even though i am changing Project start date then its again showing same date (02/18/2015)
Kindly suggest what i can do.

Does this new EPT have a project plan template associated? What happens if you set the EPT not to have a plan template then create a new project from this EPT? Does that let you update the start date? The start date should default to today (date the project
plan was created). If that works as expected, add the plan template back to the EPT (if you had one to start with) and test creating another project to see if that then works or you then get the same behaviour. This will point us to the cause hopefully.
Do other EPTs work as expected?
