Garbled Audio When Creating Text Title

Hi!
I am having a problem with iMovie. I am new to using the software so I hope this isn’t something obvious that I’ve missed.
I wanted to add a title to the opening clip of a project. I laid it out and previewed it and it worked fine. When I placed it in the timeline, and allowed it to finish creating the clip with the title, the audio was garbled. I tried doing it a couple of times but still no success. Any ideas what went wrong?

Hi Fred - I don't know what caused your problem, but try extracting the audio before you again try to superimpose the title. The extracted audio should remain locked in place, on the top audio track.

Garbled audio when exporting movies using iMove 09

Hello,
Whenever I try to export my Movie using iMovie 09, certain scenes have garbled audio.
The scene play properly within iMovie 09.
It also has the same garbled audio when I try to share it to iDVD.
Any suggestions?

There is a well known audio glitch in iMovie '09. If making speed changes to your project, such as slow or fast motion, you must use only the presets shown on the speed slider. These are: 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400% and 800%. Do not use custom speeds, by manually entering your own percentages.
If you don't use the presets, you are highly likely to see audio problems in the exported project. As you have noted, the glitch appears only in the export but is not evident in preview (within iMovie).
The only fix (other than going through a convoluted process) is to adjust all custom speed changes to the presets. This is a nuisance, of course, as you may have to resync the video and audio where you have added voiceovers or music tracks.

Voice prompts when creating text msgs

I wish to turn of the voice prompting and auto suggesting when creating text messages but cannot find how to do it

Sounds like you have activated Voice Over in Accessibility. Go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn off Voice Over. Also check Accessibility Shortcut and see that is turned off.

QT 7.6.9 for Windows still gives garbled audio when playing SMIL movies

I have smil movies with captions but on Windows, they play with garbled audio. I was hoping version 7.6.9 would solve this issue, but it's still occurring. Is this being addressed at all? Note that when the movie plays on its own without using the SMIL text track it plays just fine, so it's not the movie.

This works fine on a Mac, but I get garbled audio on Windows. I get similar results just playing it in the QT player on windows outside the browser.

There's no webpage showing up. The file trys to play but real erratic, so much so the mouse pointer was jumping back and forth between dual monitors and then locking up the computer. After letting it run it's course then and saving the file it showed as 4 KB? I could do nothing with it, I recall Kirk one time saying something about saving as a reference file and when done does not come thru in a website...? Also when saved it's showing as Quick Draw format?

Odd messages when creating text object (se75)

I am trying to create a text object and text id's for an application. I go to se75 to do this and make a text object called ZABC and upon save I get an informational message saying the following:
Observe name ranges: Y,Z for customers, J_NC for partners, A..X for SAP
When I click the green checkbox, it pops up another box saying the object is not within the valid name range. Save anyway?
I tried creating one with Z_ABC and that came up with the same thing. What am I doing wrong here?

Slideshow Elements 9: Lose audio when creating a .pdf file from the slideshow

I created the slideshow in Elements 9. Works great. Created the .pdf and I lose the audio. I'm trying to send the slideshow via email so it can't be too huge, so I didn't consider the .wmv. In troubleshooting it mentioned removing the artwork as one potential issue and didn't get into detail as to the other problems could be. So I removed the artwork in Itunes from the .mp3. I converted from .mp3 to .wav to see if that made a difference. Neither helped. I was able to create the .pdf of a slideshow with audio in Elements 7. What do I do to make it work?
Trying to get this figured out to send the slideshow for Christmas so any help/suggestions are appreciated...13 days to go

Sorry for the late reply. Have you been able to send the file?
However, i created a slideshow with a mp3 file and when i output the same into pdf format, it just played fine with the music i applied while creating.
Can you mention the number and size of the files that you used to create the slideshow.
Just to add, you can also create online albums with various templates like christmas and many more and can share them with friends.

Bullet problem when creating text frames and tables in InDesign CS5

Every time I create a new text frame or table in InDesign CS5 and paste information there, the first row in the table or several lines of text come out with bullet points. I'm sure this is a setting or style at some point I created and now am unsure of how to delete. I would like the new text frames and tables to not include bullet points as a default when imported or pasted. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Defaults for text in the current document are made with no text selected. Turn off bullets and they should stay off (but check the styles, too, you might have accidentally set a bulleted style as the defualt and you should change the default style instead). If this is happening in all files, you need to do it with nothing open to reset the default for all new documents (existing files, unfortunately, need to be fixed one at a time).

PSE 8, No audio when creating a slide show

I am unable to create a slide show with audio. All other functions in the slide show function properly but unable to get the audio portion to play. Receive error message "Unable to add audio file, the selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor (CODEC) installed." Checked and all the Vista CODEC's are installed & functioning properly. Checked and downloaded the latest CODEC from Realtek for the audio board. No audio recognized within Organizer or from file folders. Went to Adobe Tech. and got brushed off. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

1. I have Windows Media Player 11. It plays my music files which are mostly .MP3 I am unable to locate the Adobe music files using Windows Explorer. May be an indication that they didn't load when the program was installed. I have uninstalled and re-installed PSE 8. from my disc's.
2. I Tunes is my primary player.
3. OS is Vista Home premium
After running around in circles for several days I have tried the following:
1. I opened PRE8 and created a slide show and imported audio file from my music folder. Played OK. Slide show performed OK. I did not locate the included music folder with program.

3. In PSE8 I searched with Windows Explorer and could not locate any audio music files. The error message I receive is:
"Unable to add the audio file (C:\Program Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\usic\A_Taste_Of_Sicily.mp3) The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor (codec) installed."
Note that it is searching in PSE6 for the file. I missed that before. I long ago uninstalled PSE6 and PSE 7 was installed in its place and since PSE8.
Now I am suspicious that the music files never loaded with the install of PSE8 and it is searching for music files that no longer exist. Not sure what is corrupted and not sure what else to try. I think I will reload PSE7 and see if I can locate the included audio files and attempt to load a slide show with PSE7.

Premiere Elements 4.0 crashes when creating a title

I have a project with about 40 still images (all resized to around 1000 x 750), some music, and some still titles. i'm now trying to just create a new default still title -- everytime i do it PE crashes. I've restarted the program and restarted the computer but it keeps doing it -- Any ideas what is going on?

thanks. i don't know if this is going to help me. it sounds like a pretty ugly process. i downloaded Fontdoctor and can't even get it to run.
here's a fun fact: when PE 4.0 crashes, it puts up a message that says it needs to close. if i click on either 'send error report' or 'ignore' it closes. if i ignore the message, i can apparently keep working. i worry however that i may utimately being doing more harm than good.
in this mode i was able to add some new titles, but now some of them don't display when the movie plays. they display in the monitor window, but not during playback.
this is becoming a nightmare.

Garbled audio when burning to idvd 08

I have idvd 7.0.1 and imovie 6.0.3. Everytime I burn my present project it burns seemingly without errors. But then when i put it in my mac it just spits it the dvd without playing it. I've then taken the dvd and put it in a dell laptop and the dvd video plays fine but the audio is garbled. Any suggestions on what might be wrong and how to fix the problem? Three thoughts.
• free space on internal (start-up) hard disk ? 25Gb or more ?
• How did You go from iMovie to iDVD ? via Share/Export to iDVD" within iMovie ?
I don't I close iMovie and open iDVD then either drop the movie icon (with a Star on it)
or import it into iDVD.
• Upgraded to QuickTime 7.5 - seems to give problems in many cases

Slow garbled audio when streaming

I am attempting to stream audio and video and there is an
"off hook" phone noise in the background and the voice when you can
hear it is really really slow. Now I tested the microphone and
webcam on my laptop and they work with iChat and in other
applications on my laptop. I also installed the latest version of
Flash on the laptop. I am using a MacBook running 10.5.5. Anyone
have any ideas on what may be causing this problem?

I have another table that is a relational table that has an xml type column, and I was able to create the text index on that xmltype column without any problems.

Is the data in the XMLType columns the same in both cases.. Can you provide a testcase ? Which DB release are you working with

A 3113 error indicates the Oracle background process has crashed. This almost always indicates a bug. Suggest you take a look at your database alert log file, and report this to Oracle Support.

No audio when creating generator.

I just created a generator and all looks fine. Audio plays in the Motion timeline but does not play in FCP X. What am I doing wrong?

Any audio used in any effect created by Motion will be in the Media folder for the template once saved. If you're creating an effect/generator for public use, just include the instructions that the audio file can be found in that location and it will have to be imported separately into FCPX like any other media.

Garbled audio when using 24-bit, 5.1 audio on X-Fi Titanium...

Hi there... Everytime I try to play a 24-bit, multichannel audio file, the sound gets garbled and distorted. I usualy play them with KMplayer and AC3filter...
I'm using the latest drivers, some people even sugested me to try older ones...But I have some games that don't work well with older drivers...
What can I do?
