Gargeband file into kenote slide by slide

I created a voice track for one slide in a kenote presentation. As instructed, I opened the media window, found the file, and dragged the file onto the slide pallatte. The file, however, continues to bounce back and will not import. Using the inspector only allows a voice file to be played throughout the entire presentation when setting up the entire document. No such drag and drop window is available for individual slides. How can I record sound files and add them to each slide? Why won't this work through garageband...?
12-inch Powerbook 1.33   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

drag the audio file from the media browser right ONTO a slide. Then add a build to it if you want to be able to trigger when it starts playing, or leave it alone and it'll start when you hit that slide.

  • How to add PDF files into a slides? (Flash 8)

I am new to flash and I am using Macromedia Flash 8. My task is simple enough: I need create a Presentation with Screens from PDF files: I have 10-12 PDF files which I want convert into flash presentation.
    I have read this tutorial:
    http://w3.id.tue.nl/fileadmin/id/objects/E-Atelier/Phidgets/Software/Flash/fl8_tutorials.p df
Chapter 11: Basic Tasks: Create a Presentation with Screens.
I'm having trouble how to add PDF files into a slides: I want insert a whole pdf file as separate slide, without splitting pdf file into separate elements: pictures, text, etc. I tried import pdf file into Flash, wheen import there is shown prompt how program should process this pdf file(add in stage, library, as keyframes, etc) , not clear which option is correct for my task. What I got is pdf file splitted into multiple images, text, - which is not what I want. I want keep PDF files without changes, preserve original design and formatting, just convert this pdf into flash, so presentation will consist of PDFs organized in correct order, then add navigation buttons and some effects. How to solve this task?

Just to avoid potential confusion... PDF is an Adobe format, but Flash 8 is/was not.  Flash 8 came out before Adobe bought Macromedia.  Even today, I don't believe anything has been done to accomodate direct integration of PDF content in Flash.

  • Import .swf files into keynote slide

    Hi,
I have a short flash file that I would like to embed into my keynote presentation. Is there any way to do this? Should I convert the .swf file first? And which program should I use? Or is there a simple way to import this .swf file into Keynote?
I hope someone can help me!
    Regards,

OIh by the way, the .swf is a scripted flash file. I have tried multiple converters, but no success yet...

you can load an 'swf' file (but not the fla) into an empty
movieclip - using the loadMovie() method or the MovieClipLoader
    class.

  • Inserting WMA file to a slide show

I am new to PSE 4.0. I have been trying to import a .wma file into a slide show with no luck. The file is one I purchased online and downloaded, so I don't know if it could be a license issue. I have loaded it into the organizer, I cannot listen to it in the organizer, nor when I try to insert it into the slideshow does it ever show up. I have tried to convert to a mp3 file but I can't do that either. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Michele,<br />This is what MSN sent to me as i was having the same problem.  It's a bit tedious, but it works:<br /><br />please be informed that songs from MSN Music Downloads are license protected. This means that you cannot simply copy or transfer it to any program or device because the license will not go through with it. Since Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 does not support protected .wma files, I recommend that you burn the music to a CD and then convert the files to supported format such as MP3 by ripping them in that format using Windows Media Player.<br /><br />From CD Audio format, you may need to rip it back to your Windows Media Player 10 in .mp3 file format. Once you have successfully ripped it back to your WMP, you may use that copy to insert or copy to another device because it will no longer require any license. Please note that our usage policy restricts you from making copies of music other than for personal use.<br /><br />To burn music:<br /><br />1. In Windows Media Player:<br />       <br />a. Click âLibraryâ<br />b. In the âListâ pane (right pane), click <List Name> âListâ, and then âBurn Listâ. <br />           <br />NOTE: If you need to clear the list before beginning, click âBurn Listâ, and then âClear Listâ. <br />       <br />2. Drag a folder from the âContentsâ pane or songs from the âDetailsâ pane to the âListâ pane to create a list of songs to burn.    <br />3. In the burn list, drag songs up or down to arrange them in the order you want them to appear on the CD.    <br />4. Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc in the CD drive.    <br />5. In the âListâ pane, verify that the songs you have selected to burn will all fit on the disc. If necessary, remove songs from the list by right-clicking a song and then clicking âRemove from Listâ. <br />   <br />NOTE: It is possible that a song will not fit even if the total time exactly matches the CD length, because the Player inserts two seconds between songs when burning.<br />   <br />6. Click the 'Start Burn' arrow and verify that Audio CD is selected.    <br />7. Click 'Start Burn'. As the CD is burned, you can check its progress in the burn list. Burning a CD will take some time.<br />   <br />NOTES: It is recommended that you do not try to perform any other actions while burning a CD. For example, playback may be affected if you try to play a music CD while burning a CD.<br />   <br />You cannot burn additional files to a CD after burning is completed. If you are using a CD-RW, you can erase the entire CD before using the Player to burn files to the CD again.<br /><br />To Rip Music:<br /><br />The term 'rip' means to copy music from a CD. When you rip a CD, you can either copy the entire CD or just selected tracks, and these are created as files on your computer. Ripping a CD doesn't damage the CD. In fact, ripping helps preserve your CDs, because after they've been ripped, you can store them in a safe location.<br /><br />Once you have ripped a CD, you no longer need to use the CD when you listen to that music on your computer. Simply start the Player, find the music in your library, and play it. You can also mix that music with other music in a playlist to extend your listening possibilities.<br /><br />A. Configure WMP settings.<br /><br />1. Launch Windows Media Player (Click 'Start' then 'Run'. In the 'Open' field, type: wmplayer.exe).<br />2. Press 'Alt', 'T' and the letter 'O' keys simultaneously to load the media player Tools Options.<br />3. Go to 'Rip Music' tab.<br />4. Choose any of the following at the 'Format' drop down (under 'Rip settings'). You can also adjust rip quality by dragging the 'Audio quality' slider. <br /> <br />- Windows Media Audio (variable bit rate), which can reduce the file size but may take longer to rip. <br />- Windows Media Audio Lossless, which provides the best audio quality but increases the file size. <br />- MP3 format, new in Windows Media Player 10, which provides more flexibility when choosing a format.<br /><br />5. Click 'OK' when finished.<br /><br />B. Rip music<br /><br />1. Start Windows Media Player.<br />2. Insert an audio CD into the CD drive, and then click 'Rip'. <br />3. All songs are selected to be ripped if you have not previously ripped them. <br />4. If there are any songs that you do not want to rip, clear the check box next to each. You can use the check box at the top of the list to select or clear all check boxes.<br />5. Click 'Rip Music'.    <br />6. The first time you rip music, you are prompted to choose the format for the files being created. Click one of the following options:<br /><br />a. Keep my current format settings. <br /><br />Note: This option keeps your current file format and audio quality level settings and immediately starts ripping the songs you selected to your computer. By default, the Player uses the Windows Media Audio format, which optimizes the balance between file size and sound quality.<br /><br />b. Change my current format settings. <br /><br />Note: Select this option if you want to change the format, bit rate, storage folder, or other options. <br /><br />7. After you click an option, click âOKâ. (To change the format or audio quality settings later, on the âToolsâ menu, click âOptionsâ, and then click the âRip Musicâ tab.)<br />8. After the songs have been ripped, you can find and play them in your library.

  • Embedding a PDF file into PowerPoint 2010, clickable in SlideShow mode

If you embed a PDF file into PowerPoint slide by both draging and dropping or instering it as an object, only the first page of the PDF is embedded as a picture or you can change it to a PDF icon.
When in design mode, the embedded PDF is clickable and is opened in Adobe Reader (either from the PowerPoint slide if directly insterted or from its physical path if linked depending on the configuration).
But in slide show mode, the picture or the icon is not clickable.
The only workaround is to assign a hyperlink to the picture or the icon (the insterted object).
Is there any other way in opening a PDF file from PowerPoint Slide Show without assigning a hyperlink ??

    Hi,
Assign a hyperlink is the only way to accomplish Open file (.pdf, .docx, .xlsx) from PowerPoint Slide Show.
From PowerPoint slide show, it only identify the file with hyperlink.
    Best Regards.

  • I am new to iTunes. How do I transfer files of Powerpoint slides into iTunes from PC and then into my iPad for use at a meeting

I am new to iTunes and the iOS in general, having just migrated from Android devices. Please advise as to how I can easily transfer files of Powerpoint slides in documents on my PC into iTunes, so that I can use Adobe or other app to get them into my iPAD to be able to use them at a conference. Thank you.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have had an iTunes account for a while, but never really taken the time to learn to use it.  Now I have two computers, with two different versions of iTunes, with content on one that I want to transfer to the other.  Or I'd like to directly access the older libarary from the new computer.
There are a number of ways you might achieve this. The following article(s) may help you.
Moving your iTunes library to a new computer
Alternatively you might just use home sharing to share the libraries.
Plus I have some videos and audio CD's that I have never imported, and would like to bring them into iTunes and store on an external hard drive to keep from loading up my computer.  I have no idea how to accomplish all of this, and cannot find clear instructions on the website.  Is there a screen where I can access written step-by-step instructions?  I don't have the time or patience to play around and do it by trail and error.  Thanks.
If you place a CD into the CD drive, iTunes will ask you if you want to import it.
If you want iTunes to store content on an external drive, you need to tell it to do so, which you do at iTunes preferences > Advanced.

  • Why can I no longer drag a .eps file from finder into a slide to embed the image?

I have always been able to embed a .eps file into a Keynote presentation by dragging the file from Finder onto a slide. This no longer seems to work in Keynote 6.1 in Maverick 10.9.1

This is a complete deal breaker for me. The main reason I was using keynote was that I could write equations on latex and drag them directly as eps images to the slides. I can still do it if I export them as png or jpg, but the aesthetic result is subpar. Any idea of when is this going to be restored in keynote? Thanks!

  • Assistance needed in trying to import MP3 audio file into Slide Show

I get the following message when trying to import an MP3 audio file into a slideshow in Organizer 9 "The selected file can not be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor(codec) installed. I am pulling the file from my Itunes folder and I have not had problems with any other file I have downloaded from itunes and changed to an MP3 format.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I really want to use this song in a slideshow for my parents 50th Anniversary.

Best GUESS is that DRM is getting in the way of the file being used outside of iTunes (DRM = Digital Rights Mgmt = Copy Protection)

  • How can I use a sound file on one slide, which fades to another sound file on the next?

I am trying to make a slide show that begins with a certain sound file, which then I hope to fade out to the second slide which uses a different sound file, I've followed Apple's online tutorials, but what happens is I get two sound files playing simultaneously. Also, I'd like to add sounds files to different individual slides throughout the presentation, which I want to play independently from the entire slide show's sound track. I have programmed the slides to change automatically. Is there any way I can have multiple sound files on multiple slides all playing independently, without playing over the top of the previous sound file? I imagine this is a simply task, so my apologies if this is the case. Thanks in advance for any help!
    kind regards,

Getting sound to work right in Keynote requires a basic understanding that:
    1. Sound played during slide transitions (from one slide to the next) must be placed in the Document Inspector > Audio > Soundtrack Well - there can only be one audio file and it plays across all slides
    2. Additional sounds files can be placed on individual slides as sound objects - each object can have build-in and build-out assignments, but sound files need at least a Build-In > Start Audio (done in the Build Inspector) - each object, wether a shape, image, sound or movie can have discrete start timing such that the start of one sound object can be delayed X seconds after the previous event. This can be used to avoid overlapping starts or playing. If you know the length of each sound file object, you can adjust the start to occur after the end of a previous sound using the Build Inspector. Click on the More Options Button to display the event build-order list and click on the event to reveal how the build starts and add any delays to start there.
    3. Keynote does not have a Fade Feature - any fade-in or fade-out (sound up/sound down) of audio files must be done to the sound file using third party applications and then brought into Keynote. If you'd like to join the crowd wishing Apple might add this feature in the future, you can provide feedback to Apple here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    4. If you need an audio file to play across a few slides and another audio file to play across another few slides, break the presentation into seperate documents, place the audio in the soundtrack well for each document and then add a hyperlink object to connect to the next Keynote document in the series. Note: all files must be "opened" in the background and ready to play or else the next file will attempt to start but stall just when you don't need it to.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can you copy multiple audio (text to speech) files from one slide onto a new slide at once?

Can you copy multiple audio (text to speech) files from one slide onto a new slide at once? OR do you have to copy and paste each line of text to speech and insert into new slide?

    Hi there
I believe that you end up with a single file that you can use. Once you get that created, it's an audio file in the library. You may then add the audio file to another slide or object by looking in the Library after choosing to add audio.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Inserting image into a slide

I'm trying to edit a keynote presentation that was handed to me and I'm totally new to the program. I want to insert some new images into a slide. When I open the slide and click on the first image, all of the appear in a line at the bottom. OK, seems intuitive so far. But when I drag a new image to the line where I want to insert it, all it does is replace an old image. I want to INSERT the image and replace nothing. I've tried the help files and found nothing. Please help I have to give this presentation tomorrow.
    Thanks.

The person who created the file has about 100 storyboard images associated with a particular slide. He forgot to include some boards that I am trying to insert.
To recap, when I go to the slide containing the storyboards, I can click on the image in the navigator window and all of the boards appear in a row under the window. I have scrolled though and tried to drag the new boards into the row, but instead of adding to the storyboards, all I am doing is replacing one with another. I need to figure out how to insert one.
Sorry if this isn't more clear, but I don't know the terminology of keynote to describe it any better.

  • Live video from isight embedded into keynote slide

I have been trying to figure out how to embed live video from my isight camera into keynote. I have tried creating a stream from quicktime broadcaster and import the .sbp file into keynote, but it will not except the stream file. I did not know if there was another way to do it besides the stream or if perhaps I could use another program to help input the video.
My ultimate goal is to be able to present slides and have a live video from my isight during the slideshow on one of the slides. I guess if there is some other way to get both the slideshow presentation and video on the presentation screen without any program headings, in a clean fashion, that would be acceptable too; even if a different program was handling the video and it wasn't technically embedded.

Cool, I can see me using this - need to properly test with http://b-l-a-c-k-o-p.com/CamCamX.html#upgrade
this allows you to choose video sources to play - so i'm betting it will allow video cameras to be used - so it ought to be possible to do live demos/illustrate slides with 3d objects etc ... cool - suspect voice syncing still might be an issue. And KN record doesn't work properly if you have a live movie - it just shows the camera content that's live ... (if you follow me...)
PS Almost forgot - it will do one of the things I was so desperate to achieve: It would allow you to have a window on the screen with a live feed of a signer for those who use BSL and other sign languages - that's really important. And if you needed to you could use two projectors (see other thread on multiple screens) and put the signer on a nicely designed screen all of their own. WOW!!!

  • Can I combine project files to fix slide numbering

    Hi All,
I have slide numbering in the format x of y on all except the title slide. Of course this means that the first page of content is labelled 2 of Y. I ahve created a separate project with the title slide pointing to the content project, but can't get Multi SCO packager to work as I thought it should. In particular, I don't want the additional TOC created. Is there any way to do what I want? With Multi SCO? Or another tool?

    Hi SharpieJeff,
SG, who offered a simple script on another of your topics is one of the scripting wizards on the Numbers forum. I am beginning to find my way within a Numbers file but reading a bunch of files into 1 is something I haven't attempted yet. Numbers 3 is very script savvy so it can be a very useful tool. A script I am using with some frequency updates certain popups on several sheets in a file.
    One helpful website is http://macosxautomation.com/applescript/firsttutorial/index.html
You need to know that each Numbers file or document can contain many sheets. Each of those sheets can contain many tables. You might also hear a file refered to as a spreadsheet. The distinctions will be important if you being to script.
