Garmin Mobile XT v 5.00.40 splash screen comes up ...

I recently hardware reset my Nokia N95-8GB phone after being advised to do so by Fring (I could not get the software to start).
Now Fring is working fine as is all the software I previously had on the phone. The only exception is Garmin. When I click the icon, the splash screen temporarily comes up and then the program exists.
Is there a log file garmin creates that I can inspect (I am afraid that if I ask the garmin folk will tell me to reset the phone again).
Thank you for any help.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Try going to Garmin/Apps and see if there is a gmsup.ini file. If there is, delete it (or copy it to pc and then delete it from mass memory so you can put it back if it does not work) then restart Garmin and see if it works.

  • Portege M200 - Toshiba splash screen comes up and then nothing

    My Portege M200 doesnt boot.
    Turn it on and toshiba splash screen comes up and remains like that. Nothing would work (Neither F2 to enter BIOS)
    Any ideas ?

    Hi
    > so to solve my keyboard problem best option is to get a USB keyboard & continue testing the laptop , right ?
    I think the F1 button would leads you to the BIOS.
    If you are not able to use the internal keyboard, then you should replace the internal keyboard or should use an external one (USB keybaord).
    Press F1, check the data and time, save the changes and try to reboot the unit.
    PS: possibly the CMOS battery was empty and you should recharge it again. In order to do this, you have to run the notebook for about 24 hours connected to AC adaptor.

  • PXE issue : After pressing f12, front splash screen comes up...immediately reboots on one model PC

    Good morning,
    We just received 3 computers of the same series new Lenovo computers.  When we try to pxe them, it hits our first splash screen...flashes "preparing network connection" and then sits still...nothing.  After a few minutes, it will restart.
     It never gets to the welcome screen asking for the PXE OSD password.
    Can anyone help point me in the right direction?  I was thinking it was NIC drivers, but I have loaded the drivers to the boot image but no change.
    Thoughts?
    Thank you so much!

    Jason: no offense taken, i understand completely.  The reason I say I loaded the drivers, is I have personally installed the exact drivers I injected into SCCM and it installed/worked in Windows.  Are there other drivers that should be loaded other
    than these for the boot image?  I have verified the exact driver is in SCCM that I used in Windows...but still does not work.
    When I do an ipconfig, it does NOT have an IP.  Here's the smstslog:

  • Premiere Pro CC won't launch after the splash screen on my new laptop

    Got a new laptop from ASUS recently. It has the Geforce GTX 860M, which I know is not offically supported yet, but I've never had problems running Premiere with unsupported cards before and I've read about other people who've made it work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling using the CC-app several times, to no success.
    The problem manifests in two ways. Either the splash screen comes up and when it disappears, nothing happens. It's as if I never opened Premiere and I can try again with the same results. Either that or Premiere opens, I get a windows error message which says there has been an unexpected problem and Premiere had to close. No other explaination.
    I tried updating the CUDA-drivers as suggested in another thread, and that worked ONCE, but Premiere wouldn't open again after that.
    I have to make a decision on whether to keep this laptop, which in every other way is perfect and runs other Adobe-products fine (except raytracer in AE, but I can live without that until the card is supported), or keep another laptop with the 770M and which is not as powerful and "future proof".
    Any good ideas out there would be much appreciated!

    Does your laptop have two graphics adapters?
    Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Device Manager... In Device manager you click the + sign to the left of Display Adapters... and see if 2 are listed

  • Photoshop wont open, error at splash screen

    i had CS3 running fine for as long as i can remember.. (on winxp pro sp3 32bit)
    then all of a sudden today when i try to start it.. it opens and the splash screen comes up, then when it gets to 'initializing palettes' i get an error that says etc etc memory cannot be read...
    i uninstalled, ran the cleaner, deleted all cs3 folders in docs&settings.. reinstalled.. same problem
    ive spent the last few hours on google looking for some solutions but couldnt come up with anything that helped..
    any ideas at all? i dont want to have to reformat just to get photoshop to work again, thats a bit silly of a solution.. there has to be some other reason..

    ive reset the prefs.. ran the cleaner.. searched the registry.. etc etc..
    the only thing i can think of that ive added since the last time i used photoshop was the new google chrome browser, which i uninstalled and it didnt help any
    my hard drives all check out fine, memtest shows my 2gb of ram have 0 errors, ran several virus/spyware/etc scans and got nothing..
    i really dont wanna reformat just for one program that seems to have randomly stopped working.. there has to be another solution lol.. reformatting for me is a huge pain as it takes quite a while for me to get everything tweaked back to the way i like it..
    i guess later tonight ill try installing it on my vista partition and if it works on that, i guess i can just boot up to vista instead of xp when i need to use it

  • Splash screen won't come up

    I have installed JWS and just did what was written in the document...but when I clicked on the link on my web page, it would print the information desciption on my .jnlp file. Not even the splash screen will come up, it was like JWS wasn't even there. I am running out of idea, please help.

    Hi guys, thanks for your help. I have finally get my application going with JWS. The problem was I forgot to set the MIME Type in the xml file.
    Now I have another problem, after I got my application running, I would like to try to get an applet to run. The problem is I always get 2 errors after the splash screen comes up.
    1. Unable to load resource: http://corp08/WebStart/WebStart.jar.
    I thought there was something wrong with the way I jar the files so I jar it again and get the second error.
    2. Could not find main-class com.norwestlabs.WebStart.applet.WebStartApplet in http://corp08/WebStart/WebStart.jar
    So of course I jar the files again, then the whole thing goes back to error 1, and then 2, than 1 again...
    I have check my jar file, my main file is in the root directory and I have only 1 jar file. I have also check the path in my .jnlp file, they seem to be correct.
    Here is my jnlp file:

  • Splash screen, etc.

    I have a system with the K8N Neo4 Platinum and after the splash screen comes up the "press f4 for raid options" screen.  Since I'm not using a raid configuration, is there a way to get that to not come up?  I'm just using a single SATA drive.

    I recently built an Asus Computer, It had that spash screen the customer asked me to remove it, i simply went into the bios. Flip around the different tabs and look for either something similar to a raid on/off or enable disable switch.   It might be a tab that looks like IDE settings or something to that effect. Reguardless it can be disabled through bios.  If that doesnt work also there is a way to shut off the raid controller too if its a 3rd party raid (not the nvidia brand raid it would say a company like SIL RAID CONTROLLER) I hope this helps. I dont own your board or have access to it. Or i would give detailed instructions.

  • Windows 7 Imag hangs at splash screen

    I'm having an issue getting an image to complete successfully on a HP 635 laptop.
    The image I'm using was created on a VM and it's used on other laptop/desktops successfully.
    The process works find until the laptop reboots and the windows splash screen comes up. And at that point it does not proceed any further.  Shift F10 does not switch me to the command prompt so I can't check log files or make any registry changes that
    might correct the problem.  If I power off the unit and go into command prompt safe mode I see that it load drivers until it gets to afcmx64.sys then stops.  I have tried renaming this file suspecting that there maybe an issue with it but the boot
    up doesn't work as it complains that the file is missing.   I can however, install windows 7 from a CD without issue.
    I have checked this form and searched the internet but have not found a match for my issue. If anyone has gone through this and has a fix for it I would appreciate you help.
    thanks
    Kris Da San Martino

    Hi Kris,
    I assume you are using the latest version of MDT 2013 and Windows ADK 8.1 update1.
    WinPE 4.0 and 5.0 can cause the Windows Splash screen to hang, due to outdated hardware support. If available, perform a BIOS update and try to run the deployment again.
    Another viable option, could be driver selection and targeting. Please make sure that your laptop only receives the drivers that are intended for this particular model, and make sure no VMware or Hyper-V drivers are targeted to the machine. (this can also
    be seen in the bdd.log).
    Deployments are especially susceptible to storage drivers, the numerous times I've seen the "iaStore.sys" error on the MDT forums is out of proportion, all due to bad driver management.
    If you need so guidelines on driver management, please check this site: MDT 2013 Lite Touch Driver Management
    Cheers!

  • Splash screen  show only once and never again

    I have the followign line in jnlp file:
    <icon kind="shortcut" href="dtopIcon1.gif" />
    <icon kind="splash" width="550" height="300" href="splash.JPEG" />
    The images are in the root directory of the app.
    When download link is clicked on the web page, I saw the splash screen come up only once. It never shows again. Application downloads and creates an icon on desktop. The desktop icon was not showing up but started showing, I don't know how. But the splash screen never shows. Any ideas?
    Thanks for help!!!

    I would suggest you check the entire launch in JaNeLA. If fixing whatever errors it reports does not fix the problem, post your JNLP file(s) here (complete, not snippets).

  • Z87-G45 BIOS Splash screen stays during windows startup animation

    Hello all,
    this is my first post on these forums and I haven't found any similar problems like mine so here it is:
    when I power on the PC the normal BIOS splash screen comes up,
    then it disappears and normally the windows (I'm running  windows 8 Pro x64) startup animation should come up,
    but with me the BIOS splash screen just returns and the windows startup circle just comes ontop of it,
    like the normal startup animation but instead of a black background I have the BIOS splash screenas background and the windows logo itself also doesn't show,
    just the loading circle...
    My PC starts up pretty fast so its not that big of a deal but I just wondered if there was a fix
    BTW I'm running on a MSI Z87-G45 Gaming with the latest BIOS version (1.3) and windows boots of an SSD

    seems to be the normal way of booting. I've also just installed Win8 Pro in UEFI-Mode (not Legacy-UEFI!), and what I've heard from a friend that uses an ASUS board, is that this behavior indicates you are indeed booting in UEFI-Mode -> so no worries!

  • Splash screen for a desktop app (non mobile app)

    I'm using fb4linux, 4.5.1A SDK, I'm developing a non-mobile (i.e. desktop application) and I would like to add a splash screen to it.
    I've added mobilecomponents.swc to the library path, and the application starts like this:
    <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
       xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
       xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
       width="400" height="400" xmlns:local="*"
       preloader="spark.preloaders.SplashScreen"
       splashScreenImage="@Embed('assets/splashscreen.png')"
       splashScreenMinimumDisplayTime="1500">
    When I debug it, no splash scren is shown and I get the following error:
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable flash.display::StageAspectRatio is not defined.
        at spark.preloaders::SplashScreen/prepareSplashScreen()[E:\dev\4.5.1\frameworks\projects\mobilecomponents\src\spark\preloaders\SplashScreen.as:340]
        at spark.preloaders::SplashScreen/Stage_resizeHandler()[E:\dev\4.5.1\frameworks\projects\mobilecomponents\src\spark\preloaders\SplashScreen.as:407]
    The problem seems to be triggered by the line that sets the preloader, because if I remove it, the error is gone (although no splash screen is shown either).
    Any ideas how to make it work?
    Thanks!

    import [install folder]\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6\sdks\4.6.0\frameworks\libs\mobile to your build path
    Note: You must add the frameworks\libs\mobile\mobilecomponents.swc to the library path of the application to support the splash screen in a desktop application.

  • Nokia 5230 and Garmin Mobile XT

    Hi !
    I have decided to install Garmin Mobile on my Nokia 5230. I have asked the official Garmin support for informations about Garmin Mobile and Symbiaa S60 v5. They answered that the last version of Garmin Mobile is v5.00.60 and in theory it should almost certain work with S60v5 operating system (the version v5.00.50 should too), but the product is discontinued so they are not 100% sure. They sent me a list where I can still buy Garmin Mobile but I am not sure to spend 100€ because I'm not totaly sure if this will work with Nokia 5230. There's lots of info about Garmin v5.00.40 and v5.00.50 working on Nokia 5800 but no info about Nokia 5230.
    Is there any Nokia 5230 user on this forum with Garmin Mobile installed? If yes which version of Garmin Mobile do you have?
    Regards;

    Hi majidX
    Using v5.00.50s60.9 on 5230 in landscape mode, presumably sensor settings no issues with other applications?
    Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

    This has been a complaint I have heard from a lot of people.
    I did a lot of work as a field rep for a large company in Australia. I relied heavily on my Nokia Maps enabled 6210 and found it did the job adequatly. That said, it was no where near up to par with stand alone systems by Navman/Tomtom when it came to routing.
    I noticed that trips via the Nokia route could be up to 10 minutes longer, and travel through tolls where it was not necessary to do so.
    Just my oppinion, as the "professor" above to repugnantly stated, but that said, your oppinion is just that
