Gateway forwarding problem

Hi all,
I'm currently trying to build the following (rather simple) setup:
A local network of PCs is connected via a switch to an Ultra 10, running Solaris 9. (10.10.20.x)
On the 2nd interface of the Ultra 10 a router with broadband internet is connected. (192.168.123.x)
On the Ultra 10 currently only a Squid Proxy cache runs.
I plan to enable SunScreen on the Ultra 10 once everything works as planned.
Currently the client PCs can access the internet perfectly well through the Squid Proxy.
I thought, after enabling IP forwarding on the Ultra 10 the clients should be able to access the POP and SMTP servers of my internet ISP, but they can't get any connection to them.
Is my understanding of IP forwarding wrong here?
Do I need an application proxy for mail and other internet applications which don't go through the Squid proxy?
Or do I have a problem in address resolution, which requires some kind of NAT service on the SUN as well?

Hi,
I did some research on the internet on that problem.
I figure that I need NAT enabled on that SUN gateway/firewall machine.
I found two possible ways to do that: either use the SunScreen Lite which comes with Solaris 9 or install and use an application called "IP Filter" instead.
Since I planned to activate SunScreen anyway, I'll go for that option.
Can anybody confirm that I'm heading into the right direction?

Some files cause fast forward problems. Suppose I fast forward to the end of the song. Then I reach the - 00:00.00 marker. HOWEVER, the song goes on and on. It doesn't stop, even if it should (these files aren't corrupt, they work properly on my pc). I just upgraded the firmware and it didn't help =(

Help debugging standard Gateway configuration problem

I've got a Mac Pro running Lion Server.
It connects to a fixed IP / direct connection to the Internet on Ethernet 1.
The machine, and the services it supports all have good access to the Internet.
It is configured to support a LAN from Ethernet 2. Wifi connection is disabled.
I used the Gateway Assistant to set up, and:
Ethernet 2 is configured at 192.168.2.1, with DNS set manually to OpenDNS values. These are the same values as used on Ethernet 1's fixed IP connection (which works fine).
NAT is set to IP Forwarding and Network Address Translation, External Interface is Ethernet 1, and Port Mapping Protocol is enabled.
DHCP is set to distribute values to en1 (which is Ethernet 2) in range 192.168.2.2 to 192.168.2.127. DNS is set to 192.168.2.1.
The problem I have is, is that although client connections to Ethernet 2 set up pefectly, the connected machines have no connection to the internet: unable to see fqdns or ping IPs directly.
I must be doing something wrong... but can't see it. Hopefully someone else can...

IP forwarding problem

We're having problems getting IP forwarding working in OS X 10.7. What were trying to do is using a Mac Pro with two interfaces getting to act as a router between the two connected networks.

Fast forward problem in iTunes 6.0.1.3

I am using iTunes 6.0.1.3 on Windows XP Pro.
The situation is this. I have a song that is 7:30 long. When I play it normally it works just fine. However when I use the fast forward and advance to time mark 6:45 and start playing it is actually playing the part of the song that is at 6:00 (within a second or two), I let it go ahead and play and when it gets to 7:30 it just stops and jumps to the top of the menu tree (both it iTunes and on my ipod (40 gig 4g).
I have tried the fast forwarding in Music Match and Adobe Audition and it works just fine. I have tested the mp3 file with all the editors and players I have and it works great.
It appears there is some type of synch issue with fast forward and I don't really know where to start.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I've noticed this problem at work (while using my work laptop on a network with other users -- some who have iTunes 5 and some iTunes 6) and at home (using a completely different laptop).
At first I thought it was a configuration problem on my work laptop, but now I'm thinking it has something to do with iTunes itself.
The weird thing is: People at work who use iTunes 5.0 can see the shared drives without a problem. Those with 6.0 cannot. So this problem is replicating itself in two completely different environments -- leading me to believe it's something in iTunes 6. Hmm....

This is so unbelievable. Short story is, after 12 hours of paid support through Support RIX, 6 hours with TWC support, and 4 different modems there isn't a single person in these groups that can get ports forwarded on my Linksys E4200 router.
I am running a fresh copy of windows 7 with all updates and no anti virus installed. I purchased a Motorola ARRIS SURFboard modem 200 series DOCSIS 3.0 so I have no double router issues. Before I was using the TWC moden/routers in bridge mode.
I have no problem setting a static IP or configuring port forwarding. It doesn't matter if I have windows firewall on or off. I can't get an outside port checking website that can verify an open port.
I am trying to play Battlefield 4 using the port forwarding request they provide.
If I run a local port check program on my computer it will confirm the ports open. Ok, Fair enough. They tell me the outside port checking utilities will say the port is closed unless I am running the program that uses these open ports.
SO I run the game and check and it always says port closed. One of the ports I want to open is 80. It has to be open to get internet anyway but it still shows closed using the online port checking websites.
I connected the computer to the modem. No router. I keep getting ports closed or filtered when I check through 6 different port checking sites. Leads me to think their is some kind of block in the ethernet card software.
Its a Realtek PCIe GBE Family controller with a driver date of 8/26/2014. Latest one I could find.

I used a port tester downloaded from PCWinTech.com v3.0.0. It says the ports are open. When I close port 80 it says port 80 is closed. My problem is nothing outside my network can confirm an open port. It always states port closed.
The game I am playing is Battlefield-4. I have played all of the campigns without any problem but once online it crashes. The BF-4 community says I need to open 5 single ports and 5 port ranges. This is what I am trying to do.
We have tried an ARRIS router modem, a Ubee router modem (both in bridge mode) and are now using a motorola modem. All with the same problem. We checked the ports during game play and they all say closed.

What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAT6 is recommended.
Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask.

Router and Wired Configurations
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
If http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipv6 is an option on the router, select Local Connection Only.
If you set up port forwarding, disable uPnP and test.
When you check for port status, you have to be actively using the port before you scan check as you may get a false negative if your not using the port. If your using the port then check the status, you should get an accurate result.
I would try using Port Range Triggering instead of PF and set up the port as follows for your PC that your gaming with:
0 thru 65535. A bit less hassle to set up then all those different port rules.
PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired LAN PC while testing.
Disable any downloading client software managers, i.e. Torrents or similar.

Oracle 8i Gateway Service problem for MS SQL Server 7.0

I am installing Oracle Gateway services of oracle 8.1.7 with MS SQL Server 7.0 and want to create gateway service to access SQL Server. At some point Oracle document says :

Balance Carry-Forward Problem for Subledger Accounts

Hi Experts,
We are doing the Balance Carry-Forward this Year 2012 and we are having problems with the amount to be carry-over of AP/AR Subledgers for this year. We checked the C/F Balance for G/L and there are no problems.
When I go to tables KNC1 or LFC1, I see items for both years 2011 and 2012 with a Balance Carry-over value. So during my Balance-Carry Over calculation during debug, it gets the value in KNC1 or LFC1 for 2011 then subtracted with the value in KNC1 or LFC1 in 2012. Why is this happening? Supposedly the 2012 entry on KNC1 or LFC1 should not exist yet right?
Also the entry on 2012 C/F Balance should only be under the 2011 Posting as the Document Entry has the Posting Period 12 2011. Right now the Posted Entry is in C/F Balance 2011 and 2012 as well. Is this how the Balance C/F Posting works?
Please enlighten me on how SAP works on this one.

Why you need to do debugging for F.07?
If you have inconsistancy in your opening bal and closing balances, you can anyhow run the carryforward program again sequentially for 2010, 2011...for GL/AR/AP
Now check closing balance for FY 2011 and compare the same with opening bal of FY 2012.

Leave Balance Carry forward problem

Hello experts,
Actually i found many threads which alredy posted but could not able to found solution for my scenario.
we are having PCRs and doing Time evaluation in negative time mangement for carry forwarding quota balance, and Balances are forwarding to next year properly.
But problem is, last year balance should be set by that remain amount and balance is transfered to next year.
e.g. if i have Entitilement as 53 and used 17 for the year 2010. now am doing time evaluation to transfer the remain balance that is 36 to next year, and its carry forwarding to 2011 is ok. Now i want that Entitlement 53 for 2010 will set to 17 also. So, the system will carry forward the balance as well as that balance is deducted from previous enttilement also, in short how much is transfered that much deducted from previous entitlement.
So, i need to change that PCR.
Note:This requirement is suggested because, there was a problem when we do leave encashment using infotype 0416, it will deduct the quota compansation amount from proper year with available quota.

it means you want to transfer the used leaves number to next year. is it?

Balance carry forward problem in Global company currency -USD (FS10)

We are facing the problem in balance carry forward since 2008 to 2011
We are maintaing two curriencies for one company code like 1.Loc.currency(SGD), 2.Global company currency(USD)
But system is carry forwarded 1.Loc.currency(SGD) correctly but problem is in Global company currency(USD)
System is not correctly forwarded Global company currency(USD) it is forwarding different amounts in USD
Like Global company currency(USD) 2008 carry forwarded amount : 45,890.64 (Account balance: 27,105.00-)
It shows Balance carried forward on: 2009 : 30,765.29- (Account balance : 45,867.87-)
It shows Balance carried forward on: 2010 : 32,814.91- (Account balance : 34,157.89-)

Quantum Gateway Router Problems

Hello.
After installing my new quantum gateway router, I have had nothign but problems. The router will connect to the laptops and phones very reliably, but it never has a stable connection with either a ROKU 3 or Amazon Fire STick int he same room. I can watch the connection connect and disconnect over and over.
Range is not a problem, ans sometimes the connection will hold so long as the device is in use. But, if I come back the next morning it is anybody's guess whether my streaming devices will connect.
I have read many problems and complaints regarding this issue with this router. Any suggestions?

im having the same problems man. I Cant even connect any device wirelessly to the new quantum router. I always get dns isnt resolving xbox server names for the x1. Plz someone tell us how to fix this.i tried basically EVERYTHING. port forwaring, static ip, changing the compatibility mode and everything but still no change. Is the router preset with a setting that restricts online connectivity? but it works only when its wired. Someone please help

Fios quantum gateway router problem

Hello, when I connect my coaxial cable and power adaptor to my old verizon mi424wr router, the internet works fine. But when I connect my coxial cable and the power adapter that came with the fios quantum gateway router, the internet doesn't work. On the router, the internet icon keeps blinking white for about a minute, then it just becomes a solid non-blinking red internet icon. Assisstance would be greatly appreciated.

Your problem may be that you didn't release your WAN IP address before switching routers. It's necessary to do so.
To release your IP address you could power off the new router, wait 2 hours, or overnight if that's more convenient, and then power the router back on.
Or to release the IP address more quickly, with the Actionec in place, follow the steps in this link:

After releasing your WAN IP, wait about 10 minutes and then fire up the Quantum router. You should have a new WAN IP address and be connected back to the Internet.

Mail.app forward problem

Hello,
i am experiencing a problem with mail.app
I have installed two email pop account which are working normally.
The problem is that. When trying to forward messages with ppictures or attachments (normal size) the messages stuck in outbox, the activity panel shows "done 100%" constantly but the messages is not being send. After a while you an option window to select other smtp server but the problem remains the same. If you try to send any message by "new mail" option then message is being send normally.
This is weird and annoying and i can not resolve it.
System has all the latest updates (10.6.2) and is a brand new iMac.
Please kindly advice.

If you have a backup, use it first. Otherwise the answer is that you should always have a backup
All you might lose is your account server/logins, any personal settings for the tool bar, color settings etc. It won't affect your messages. I've had to do this before and it's a typical method because the plist is the expected casualty point when something like this happens. The next time you run MAIL it will build a fresh plist and then you can make any specific changes that are needed. In terms of troubleshooting, it is one of the more risk free methods around.
If you want to be safe, simply move that file to the desktop long enough to test.
• If it doesn't help or if you think it makes something worse, trash the temporary replacement and then put the original back.
• If it fixes the issue, then you can trash it.
If you are at all reluctant, don't do it.

GetRequestDispatcher/forward problem

It execute very well, but my JSP desn't display... I'm sure the servlet and JSP codes are correct because it works fine in my local environment... it doesn't work only on the WAS server...
So, knowing that my SQL query take much time, could it be a timeOut problem ? on the WAS server or on the Appache Web server ?

Jsp forward problem, I think.....

I have a default.htm page that takes in a feild, EMP_NUM. Once the user
          hits the Submit button, I run a select statement(select.jsp) to see if that
          number exists. If it does then I forward the contents to correct.jsp, if the
          number doesn't exist then I forward to failed.jsp.
          Today is Tuesday, and last Friday I was working on this and everything
          worked fine, in fact perfect. I came in this morning to do some more
          testing, specifically catching errors in my try and catch, example - to make
          sure they enter in a number, and after I type in a number and hit the submit
          button, it trys to go to the next page, but displays nothing, the page is
          blank. Where has before, when everything was working fine on Friday, my
          correct.jsp page or my failed.jsp page would be displayed.
          From Friday to Tuesday I had not made any changes to my files. The only
          thing different, that I can think of, would be that on Friday I would have
          stoppped weblogic and this morning I started weblogic again. This is why I
          think this is a weblogic issue or syntax on my part. I have tried to restart
          my computer, restart weblogic, and I even deleted the .java files that
          weblogic creates and places in the weblogic/myserver/classfiles/jsp_servlets
          folder.

          Sounds like you have some debugging to do. If you didn't reinstall WLS and it worked fine before,
          then I doubt it is a WLS problem.
          Is your page really blank? Try show source in your browser? I think you have some mismatched
          <table> </table>. Try it in both IE and Netscape - one of them forgives you for mismatched table
          tags.
          Add some System.out.println() in your code to see what is being executed.
