Gateway Monitor on a B&W G3

Is it possible to hook up a Gateway monitor to my B&W G3? My Sony monitor is going out and someone I know can sell me a 15" LCD Gateway monitor. But, he says I have to have particular hook ups for that monitor in order to use it with a Mac. What would I need to get? Any help is greatly appreciated.
B&W G3   Mac OS X (10.2.x)

For probably less than $100 you could probably get an 'ole Radeon 7000 Mac Edition that has a DVI port on it. By looking on eBay, there are many cheap flashed Radeon 7000s avaliable, but I don't know about their reliability. So, I would just look for an original Radeon Mac Edition PCI video card.
By the way, how much are they selling this monitor to you for?

  • Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adaptor : Gateway Monitor FPD1760 - Compatible ?

Hi. Is the Apple, Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adaptor compatible with Gateway Monitors?, I own a Gateway FPD1760 (Specs : http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Gateway-Gateway-Monitor-FPD1760).
Just wanted to know if I should be going with Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adaptor or) Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, as I have heard too many complaints about the former.
    Thanks in advance

If your monitor has DVI input, get the DVI adapter. DisplayPort is digital, DVI is digital, but VGA is analog - the signal conversion will result in a (slight) drop in quality.

  • MBP doesn't recognize FPD2185W Gateway Monitor

I've had the previous model of the MBP and with the VGA adapter, it worked fine with the FPD2185W Gateway monitor. Now with the newest MBP, and with its new display port requiring having to buy a new adapter, the only thing I can do is mirror the display, and the display flickers and changes color at random intervals. Once, after going toggling mirroring displays and detecting them, I'll be able to actually have the external monitor act as an extra monitor, but there's no rhyme or reason to this. I'm sorry, but if I'm being forced to pay money to buy an adapter so Apple can push its new display port, is it too much to ask that it works with existing monitors?

Thanks for your input.  Unfortunately, none of this works at all.  I've tried every possible variation on booting up but the sys pref/detect displays doesn't detect another display.  The strange thing is that once in a while I can get it going but for only a split second.  This is definitely not a cable problem, and the fact that it worked at one point makes me think that there is something inside that is loose or unstable.

  • Gateway Monitor with a Mac PowerPC G4?

I have been given a Gateway monitor (model fpd2275W) and was wondering if this is even compatible with my Mac? Is there a way of making it compatible? Right now all I'm getting is "no signal" when I hook it up.

Hi! Are you hooking it up vga, dvi or the Apple Hardware connector? I have a 24" Gateway hooked to a Radeon 9200 card using dvi which works great. Tom

  • Gateway Monitor / Connections to clients

    Newbie question:
I am looking at the gateway monitor for logged client connections.  Now, I am not sure what exactly am I seeing here but I see a lot of pending connections (only one is active sapgw01, the 34 remaining are all pending) and I was wondering why this could be happening...
Also I see a lot of duplicates.  For example AI_DIREC is repeated 10 times in the list, all with status pending.
If anyone can give me a simple explanation of how this information is retrieved and/or why do I have duplicates on the list I would really appreciate it.  Thanks!
PS: I am trying to solve a problem I have with my SLD connection (another POST), the problem is that I get an exception with an error that says "duplicate conversation ids exception" and I am wondering if the duplicates I see in this is screen could be related...
I am attaching an export of the list if anyone needs the details.
    Thanks again...

  • Using old Gateway monitor as second display for Late 2013 MBP?

    Hi all,
I'm currently running OSX 10.9.4 on a late 2013 MacBook Pro with 15-inch Retina Display. I recently took an old Gateway LCD monitor (with DVI and HDMI ports) off of someone's hands and was wondering if I'd be able to use it as a second display for my MBP. I have a DVI to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable. If this is doable, instructions would be great.
    Thank you!
(Yes, this is a repost. I realized I posted the other one in the wrong section, and I was unable to move sections.)

I have, using the adapter, connected them via the MBP's HDMI slot and the other monitor's DVI port. The monitor turns on, but the Mac doesn't recognize the other display. The other display is simply blank after it's initial turn-on screen.

  • Tuxedo remote gateway monitoring

Is it possible to monitor from a Tuxedo domain traffic on a gateway to a remote domain (e.g. WebLogic)? If yes, would it then be possible to tell which remote node in a multi-node configuration is selected for a specific service request?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Tuxedo by itself does not provide either. On the other hand TSAM provides both. TSAM lets you monitor the traffic to remote domains and allows tracking a request from its initiation until it completes or leaves the Tuxedo environment. In other words, you can track a request to WTC up to the point of the exiting domain gateway, but not which connection from that gateway. Now if you segregate your remote connections to separate domain gateways (GWTDOMAIN servers) then you'd be able to know which remote WTC instance the request went to.
We are looking at being able to track requests all the way into WLS and from WLS all the way into Tuxedo, but at the moment TSAM can only monitor within the boundaries of one or more Tuxedo domains.

    Hai,
    Please check the link below...

If you have a stand alone gateway on WINDOWS then you can kill the process and start it again, if you have installed together with your Instance then you should restart the whole Instance.
Killing the process gwrd and then starting or forcing it to start will not work (waste of time), I have had the similar problem sometime back but on UNIX. I guess it will be same in WINDOWS as well.
So the better way is to restart the whole Instance.

  • Is there a way to Report out Remote Desktop Gateway Manager Monitor data?

We are running Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Services configured to provide a managed pool of VMs through a RD Gateway server. Everything is working well. We would like to generate a regular report on the information that shows up in the Gateway
Monitoring window about connections and users etc. Is there any way to generate such a report without purchasing 3rd party software?

    Hi,
Based on my experience, you can use Remote Desktop Gateway Manager to view information about active connections from Remote Desktop Services clients to internal network resources through an RD Gateway server. However, there is no such options in
RD gateway manager to create reports for that.
It seems that System Center Operations Manager can monitor Remote Desktop Gateway Service and the number of sessions that run through the RD Gateway are monitored.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • G5 no longer recognizes monitor properly

This post is about a Gateway monitor, not an Apple monitor, but the Gateway folks said the issue is with the computer. So I apologize if I'm in the wrong place, but I need some help and I couldn't find an appropriate forum.
I have a Gateway FPD1975W monitor. It's a widescreen monitor that doubles as an HDTV. It is my secondary monitor (my primary monitor is a 23" Cinema Display) and it is connected via VGA to my G5's DVI port with an Apple adapter.
I'll make a long story short. From the moment I plugged the new Gateway monitor in, my G5 recognized it and gave me the proper resolution options. But ever since I used the monitor as an HDTV, then plugged it back into my Mac, the computer sees it as "VGA Display," not as the "FPD1975W" like it should.
The result is that my secondary monitor is now kind of useless because I can't use the Gateway's native resolution.
How can I get my G5 to recognize the monitor properly again? Is there a preference file? A driver? I really need the computer to properly recognize this monitor.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Dual 2 Gig G5   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   Gateway FPD1975W TFT LCD Monitor

You could try trashing the preference file(s) associated with displays. Use the Finder's Find command and search on the term "windowserver". You should find at least one file called com.apple.windowserver.plist and you may also find one or more files called com.apple.windowserver.xxxxxxxxxx.plist where xxxxxx is a string of characters and numbers. Throw all such found files into the trash and restart. When the computer restarts and OS X finds the files missing, they will be automatically regenerated. This should give you a fresh start with your Gateway.
Be aware that if you have any special settings or color calibrations, they will have to be redone since everything will revert to factory default, original settings. This includes for your 23" Cinema Display.

  • Please help. G5 no longer recognizes my monitor.

    Hello.
I have a Gateway FPD1975W widescreen monitor connected via VGA to my G5's DVI port. My computer recognized the display right out of the box and showed the proper resolutions for the display (native 1440x900).
Recently, however, I hooked up the monitor to my Xbox 360. And when I reconnected the monitor back to my G5, the computer now thinks it's a generic "VGA Display" instead of a FPD1975W Gateway monitor.
Is there a preference file or some other change I can make to clear the VGA port from the G5's memory so the computer will once again recognize the monitor properly?
    ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!

  • Connecting Playstation 3 to LCD Monitor HELP!!

hey guys im new at this and i need some help please
i have a ASUS 23inch Widescreen LCS monitor and supports HDMI and HDCP.
i have done some research on how to set this up. people told me i jus need a HDMI cable in which i already purchased. is there anything else i do?
for sound i would like to connect a speaker system in which im still researching for a decent one. any suggestions? anything under 100 dollars is at best for me
also what cables or adapters would i need to have in order to connect the speaker system?

You're trying to use a PS3 with a PC monitor?  I thought that couldn't be done, but I'm not sure.
    Why wouldn't it?
PC monitors and LCD HDTVs are nearly indistinguishable from each other now, at least when connecting via HDMI.
It should simply be a case of:
HDMI from PS3 to PC monitor
Audio output (depends on your audio system) from PS3 to audio system.  (Actually, this is one of the few differences between PC monitors and TVs with HDMI connectivity - most PC monitors don't have speakers, TVs do and support HDMI audio.)
In my case, I have HDMI to my 46" TV and optical audio to a Yamaha receiver, but could easily move the PS3 to my "office" and connect to my 24" Gateway monitor and my other Yamaha receiver.  (Yes, I have TWO Yamaha HTIB systems, one in the living room and one in the "office".)

  • External monitor detected but no picture

I recently tried hooking up my 17 inch LCD gateway monitor to my 13 inch mac. My mac detects it and lists it under display properties however it does not actually have a picture on the monitor. The gateway just stays black or powers on and then goes black after saying no signal. I have a mini dvi to dvi adapter and then a dvi to vga adapter hooked up, which is then plugged into the monitor. My monitor has a dvi hookup along with the vga input but i unfortunately realized this after I bought the adapter. I figure if my mac sees it I should be able to get it working without buying another expensive cable.
    Can anyone help?

I had the exact same problem with my 50" LG TV. I'll be looking forward to a reply.

I have a HP LP2465 Wide screen monitor. Similiar problem to ScottsMac. The monitor has two DVI inputs. I have a DVI adapter to VGA dongle connected to the monitor (DVI plugged into the monitor) I'm using the Apple Mini-DVI adapter to VGA adapter. The VGA adapter is plugged into the VGA endpoint described above. The Mini-DVI adapter is than plugged into the MacBook. No signal recognized by the computer?
Should I try a DVI to DVI and than get the other cable mini-DVI to DVI connector?
The monitor works fine from an IBM Thinkpad to monitor.

  • External Monitor with Bootcamp (and Windows Vista Business)

It looks like this has been discussed quite a bit already, but as a computer neophyte I've had a hard time deciphering an answer that applies to my unique circumstance. So apologies if some of you've already been over this.
    Anyway, here's my question/problem:
My second monitor (Gateway HD2250) doesn't work when I'm using Bootcamp (Windows Vista Business). I'm running a VGA cord from the Gateway monitor to a VGA adapter that's plugged in to the back of my Mac. My computer's a late '06 iMac w/ Mac OS X 10.5.5. BTW, my virtual Windows does seem to register the second monitor; it's just that nothing shows up on the Gateway screen.
    Ideas for help? Thanks everyone!!

I managed to get an upgrade version of XP to run by using the internal DVD drive for the main all disc and an external DVD drive for my qualifying disc. Has to be that way round because the Apple keyboard ceases to function for a while and the required USB windows keyboard dosen't have an eject button. The whole business was very painful however, trying to get the installer restarts to select the correct drive each time.
