Gateway server not listening on 443

I am installing Portal and Gateway in a test environment. I installed the server on machine 1 and the gateway on machine 2. The server works fine. But, when I try to go through the Gateway, I get no response. I did a netstat -n and noticed that port 443 isn't even listening.
I installed 3.0 and upgraded both to SP2. I am doing this to replicate our production environment. What could be the reason for gateway not wanting to listen on port 443. I followed all the normal gateway installation steps.
Thanks,
Matt

IT could be a variety of reasons for example your gateway configurtion could be one reason, another could be the gateway might not have been able to obtain a session with the server.
during the installation the gw must be installed on the same installation path as the server for example if the server was installed /opt gw must also be installed there and the password used should also be the same.
Enable debug by changing ips.debug=message and you should get more info from the iwtGateway logs ..

  • Gateway server not able to authenticate

    Hello SCOMMers :)
I have a issue with my SCOM 2012 R2 system that i just can't get my head around.
We just purchased a brand new SCOM server that I have migrated our environment to, moved the databases, reporting server and finally i got things up and running after some issues with the DB move.
So i now have 2 SCOM management servers in my environment and four gateway servers, the gateway servers are communicating to the old SCOM server and i want to move them over to the new SCOM server.
I ran the powershell commands from this technet article and thought everything was under
control. But none of the GW servers started communicating with the new SCOM server.
I have of course checked the certificates, hosts file, DNS and firewalls, and i reran the MOMCertImport.exe utility. Also checked that the certificate serial number was correctly inserted to the registry after the MOMCertImport.exe was run. (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft
OperationsManager\3.0\Machine Settings, binary value named ChannelCertificateSerialNumber contains the serial number of the certificate in a reverse order)
Still i was unable to get the GW server to communicate to the correct management server so i decided i to reinstall the GW server so I could set the name of the new SCOM management server during the GW setup. Before i did the reinstall i ran the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.GatewayApprovalTool.exe
with the /Delete parameter, the command ran successfully.
When i do the install i still cannot get the communication up and running, the GW server gives me the following errors in the eventlog.
The GW server appears in my Management Servers list but stays in the Not monitored state.
    Event ID: 20057
Failed to initialize security context for target MSOMHSvc/<ServerFQDN> The error returned is 0x80090303(The specified target is unknown or unreachable). This error can apply to either the Kerberos or the SChannel package.
    Event ID: 20071
The OpsMgr Connector connected to tmg-app92.mg.local, but the connection was closed immediately without authentication taking place. The most likely cause of this error is a failure to authenticate either this agent or the server . Check the event log on the server and on the agent for events which indicate a failure to authenticate.
    Event ID: 21001
The OpsMgr Connector could not connect to MSOMHSvc/<ServerFQDN> because mutual authentication failed. Verify the SPN is properly registered on the server and that, if the server is in a separate domain, there is a full-trust relationship between the two domains.
    Event ID: 21016
OpsMgr was unable to set up a communications channel to <ServerFQDN> and there are no failover hosts. Communication will resume when <ServerFQDN> is available and communication from this computer is allowed.
I have installed new certificated on both GW and management server, and i did the SCOM GW installation multiple times, but the issue is the same and the eventlog error also are the same.
Does anyone have any clue to what might be wrong?
    Thanks!
    Bjørn

    Hi,
After you deleting the gateway with Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.GatewayApprovalTool.exe, the gateway object is only marked as deleted in databases. Therefore, try to use different name for the new installed gateway, so the old parameters will not
be associated with the new gateway.

  • OAM 11G Weblogic Server Not listening

I have installed few things including OAM, OAAM, entitlement server etc using the 11G installation suite. (on windows 2003 server)
Also I have installed the weblogic server (forget the version, should 11 something).
I have created the weblogic domains for OAM
I have done RCU with no error message, tables created.
There seems to be no error during the installation. I ironed the steps that there are no more warning and error message.
I started weblogic server. It goes to the point to a "STARTED" state. not in RUNNING STATE. ANd the windows console stay still.
When I try to access admin console 7001 weblogic. Seems that the server is not listening, I cannot access to the user interface.
Meanwhile there are no error messages or exceptions I can trace while the weblogic server is not working.
Personally I do not feel the weblogic server is not listening because of the memory leak.
When I observe the windows task manager, I saw memory leak, the memory of the server increase steadily even the weblogic is not working. After half an hour, it throw out of memory exception. I tried to play with the heap size of java to 1024G, but no help. Problem is it is leaking no matter how much memory allocate there will be problem.
Can anyone tell me is there some steps I am missing? or is there known bugs? Or what else I can do to troubleshoot this?
I can provide you all the version of the software I am using. AFter two weeks.... since the lab would be down for renovation purposes.
    Thanks

  • Got error: Location Code is not enabled in the XML Gateway Server

    Hi,
When I perform Compliance rule screening on GTM - Globel Trade Management, that I defined GTM as an Trading Partner on EBS R12.1.3,
GTM can send response to EBS,but I see the following error message via Transaction Monitor on EBS workflow:
[The Standard:OAG, Transaction Type:ITM , Transaction SubType:EXPORT_COMPLIANCE and Location Code GTM6.2 is not enabled in the XML Gateway Server. Pls check your Setup.]
On EBS,I defined an ITM Partner for GTM,named 'GTM6.2',according to the document created by you: ITM Setup.doc
and I also finished the following steps:
    1. ITM Application Users
    2.ITM Partner Service Types
    3.ITM Parameter Setup
    4.Order Type Creation: ITM Only
5.Customer Creation: create a customer named 'GTM6.2', also enter 'GTM6.2' as EDI Location
6.Define Transactions on XML Gateway as following:
    <Header>:
    Party Type: Customer
    Transaction Type: ITM
    Transaction Sub Type: EXPORT_COMPLIANCE
    <External Transactions (Lines)>:
    Standard Code: OAG
    External Transaction Type: ITM
    External Transaction Sub Type: EXPORT_COMPLAINCE
    Queue: APPLSYS.ECX_IN_OAG_Q
7.Define Trading Partners on XML Gateway as following:
    <Header>:
    Trading Partner Type: Customer
    Trading Partner Name: GTM6.2
    <Trading Partner Details>:
    Transaction Type: ITM
    External Transaction Type: ITM
    External Transaction Sub Type: EXPORT_COMPLAINCE
    Map: WSHITEIN
Source Trading Partner Location Code: GTM6.2 (same as the value what defined in EDI Location for customer)
I think the combination of External Transaction Type, External Transaction Subtype, Standard Code,Source Trading Partner Location Code
should be existing once done above steps, I have no idea why the error prompted.
Does someone can tell how to trace the error?
    Thanks,
    Rambler

  • RDP Port not Listen in Windows Server 2008 Std With Sp2

    Hi all
I have Windows 2008 Server Std with SP2 Domain Member Server..  From Last week On-wards , am not able to take remote desktop control .. But i can able to Ping my Server from network .. I check remote settings on that server.. It
is enabled.. and also remote desktop service(Terminal service) was started successfully..  I checked my network firewall for port(3389) blocking.. But there is no much block in my network firewall.. i also disabled windows firewall in my server.. But
still i couldn't able to take RDP.. I also checked my Domain GPO and Local GPO settings for RDP Block.. But there is no such settings enabled.  I did following Troubleshooting Steps, but still the problem persist
    1. Telnet serverip 3389
Result : Could not open connection to the host, on port 3389:
    2. netstat -n -a -o | find "3389" (i run this command in my RDP Problem server)
Result : nothing displayed (3389 port not listed )
    3. i again & again restarted Terminal service and the server, but still problem exists
4.i changed the RDP port no and restarted the service as well as the server , but still problem exist
    5. I checked all RDP related Registry settings , everything is perfect
Please help me to solve this issue
I need your valuable reply urgently
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mohamed,
You mention, that you the server is not listening to port 3389 when you run netstat. This is the reason why telnet and RDP connectivity fails in a first place. You also said that you changed the RDP port number. What was is before the change, and to what
    did you change it to?
Please verify if the Terminal Service is listening to 3389 (0xd3d) with following command:
    reg query "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp" /v PortNumber
    Output:
    PortNumber    REG_DWORD    0xd3d
Try to enable the Operational log for TerminalServices-RemoteConnectionManager events in Event Viewer:
    Open Event Viewer
Navigate to Applications and Service Logs\Microsoft\Windows\TerminalServices-RemoteConnectionManager
Select the Operational log and chose Enable Log
from the Action or context menu
    Restart Terminal Services service
Then consult this event log and the System and Application logs for any related errors and warning. It might be helpful to post relevant event log entries here.

  • AST Gateway Manager Server not available

I have installed the latest AST (new install, not an upgrade) without any issues.  The Gateway Manager, however, is unable to connect to the server.  The ADR Server URL was pre-populated and is https://adr.apple.com/services/ws/capture.  After entering in my information and clicking save, the Authentication Status goes from Authenticating to Server Not Available, and I get a giant red bar across the screen saying ADR Server Not Available.
The computer is running Mountain Lion Server with all of the latest patches.  The machine is online.  I can browse to any website I want.  I can't figure out why it can't contact the ADR Server.  Does anyone have any ideas?

I realize this is an older thread, but I happened upon it when searching for an answer. I noticed that my MRI results weren't getting uploaded to Apple.  I also had the giant red bar across the screen saying ADR Server Not Available.
My problem was that I had updated my password for GSX recently and had not put the new password into the settings of the dianostic Gateway.  As soon as I updated the password I was able to authenticate and my problems dissapeared.

  • Gateway Server address and Certificate subject name do not match error on Vista client

RD Gateway server is 2012, RD Server is 2008 R2. Client is (currently) Vista Gold (surprised me too).
User was able to connect through the Gateway in the past, but seems to have broken around the time that we switched to a real wildcard SSL certificate. Prior to this, it was using a self issued cert.
I'm stalling for time (and hoping this fixes it) by having the user install the Vista Service Packs. Can anyone verify if this is what's causing the issue, or if I need to look at something else?

    Hi,
Yes, updating should fix the issue--the old client versions didn't work properly with wildcard.  I recommend you have them install the latest version of the Remote Desktop Client for Vista which is RDP 7.0 capable:

I've tried the most common stuff.
Enabling ICMP, checked that remote administration runs on port 443, changed MTU to 1400 manually, It allows fragmented packages too.
Checked that IKE and IPSec services are running.
I've also tried both with windows firewall ON and OFF.
A collegue of mine had the same problem in the same timeframe as me, but after a while - he suddently was able to connect.
    I still can't!!
    Firmware Version:        1.0.2.4
Anyone got a fix for this?
    Edit: IP is not real.

Ok, so I had a chat with Cisco - and it seems like the setup on the RV220W was done correctly and was working fine.
Showed me a few things that could come in handy checking out when running diag on the quickvpn.
I disabled all antivirus realtime checks, opened 443 and 500 inbound to my computer - checked that the QuickVPN.exe had an exception in the windows firewall, and that the firewall was enabled.
Also checked that the services was set tu Auto and Started.
Rebooted computer, and I was able to connect!
Now I'm working my way back to the setup I had, to figure out what went wrong in the first place.

  • RDS 2012 - Using a reverse proxy with the Gateway server on the internal LAN

    Hi there,
I'm looking to introduce an RDS 2012 farm and would like to put the RDS Gateway server on the internal LAN (due to it's AD requirements etc).
What are the best practise options for using a reverse proxy to forward traffic to the gateway server and is it better to do this than just forward 443 traffic from the DMZ through to the Gateway directly?
    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Hi Paul,
It is generally considered more secure to have a reverse proxy in front of RDG.  I don't know of a proxy that will handle the RDG UDP traffic, so you will need to consider using direct server return for that or not having the benefit of UDP.  Whether
or not it is acceptable to simply forward TCP 443/UDP 3391 directly to your internal RDG is up to your security policies.  Many companies are fine with it while many other companies think it is unacceptable and require a reverse proxy or other method
to provide an extra layer of protection.

  • VPN ports not listening on WRVS4400N

    Hi,
I have a brand new WRVS4400N running Firmware Version: V1.1.03-ETSI and I cannot seem to get the client VPN workign at all.
    Config :
    No Static IPSec tunnels
    DOS Protection : OFF
    FireWall : OFF
    Block WAN Request: DISABLE
    Remote Mgmt : ON
    HTTPS : ON
I have used QuickVPN  1.2.11 on both Vista and XP and still no luck. QuickVPNPlus reports "a connection with the server cannot be established" when using ports 443 OR 60443. I have even  tried this from behing many routers in case I was running into a NAT-T issue. Then I went back to basics and tried to telnet which is showing me that neitherr port 443 or 60443 are listening.!!
Does anyone have any pointers to resolving this issue. ?
I have spend hours on hold for support and trying to debug what I thought was a client side issue and all the time it appears as if the device is not listening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Peggo

    Hi,
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
The router has been tested with the fireall both ON and OFF.
There are two  VPN accounts and both are marked as active.
The router does have a public on the WAN interface in the 194.125 range. The router is connected to a DSL ISP over PPPoE and all connections over the link are working just not 443 OR 60443 to the router IP.
The VPN Log (below) shows nothing of use (to me anyway) I cannot see the connections come through in the log. But I am sure remote connections are working as I'm logged into the device remotely on port 8080.
    Many Thanks

  • Single Sign-on and HTTP Server not started

I have installed oracle9iAS on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 (SLES 8) which is certified by Oracle to run oracle9iAS. Everything was working propely after installation but when I restarted the server, the listener, the iasdb instance, and the EM started properly but when I went to http://servername:1810 and clicked on start all i got them all started but the HTTP Server and the Single Sign-on. When I tried to start the HTTP Server individually i got the following error:
oracle.sysman.emSDK.util.jdk.EMException: The opmn request has failed. From opmn: HTTP/1.1 204 No Content Content-Length: 0 Content-Type: text/html Response: 0 of 1 processes started. Check opmn log files such as ipm.log and ons.log for detailed.
I checked the log and its showing the following:
    03/10/25 16:44:23 Connection 0,192.168.10.11,6200 message missing 'Content-Lengt
    h'
    GET /dms0/Spy?recurse=all&format=xml&operation=get&value=false&units=true&descri
    ption=true&name=%2F HTTP/1.1
    Host: linux2.future:6200
    Connection: Keep-Alive, TE
    TE: trailers, deflate, gzip, compress
    User-Agent: RPT-HTTPClient/0.3-3
    Cache-Control: no-cache
    Pragma: no-cache
    Accept-Encoding: deflate, gzip, x-gzip, compress, x-compress
I tried to start it from command line with the command
    $dcmctl start -ct ohs
    and it returned ADMN-906025
Anyone can help me solving this problem??

This error Can be caused by a syntax error in your httpd.conf file, check it / correct it try reloading OHS.
Ensure that emctl is not running when you run any dcmctl commands! If you have already run any dcmctl commands with emctl running that can cause your problem - if so to fix it solution is really to re-install.

  • Remote Desktop "Bypass RD gateway server for local addresses" no longer working in Windows 8

    Hi,
After installing windows 8, it seems like the "Bypass RD gateway server for local addresses" is no longer working.
In Windows 7, when the option is checked, I could have the server name set always and the client will automatically detect whether to use the RD gateway or not. For example, from my house, if I am connecting to a computer at my work, which requires
the RD gateway, it will automatically pops up the dialog for authentication method. However, if I connect to a computer in my home network, it will just automatically connects without asking authentication for the RD gateway.
However, after installing windows 8, this does not seem to work as expected anymore. The option is checked but the Windows Security dialog pops up in both situations and so i have to either save the rdp file locally and pin it to the taskbar or switch between
disabling and enabling the RD gateway whenever I need to connect to different machines.
Is this a regression in Windows 8? Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
    Thanks

Another way to resolve this issue for me, beside of configuring RDP to connect directly to server also on unmanaged network, will be to turn the "wifi" subnet in a managed network, as the "wired" subnet is.
The differences between thoses to subnets, dynamically assigned by the same DHCP server, are:
The "wifi" is in a private IP range, the "wired" is in a public IP range
There's an ACL on the "wifi" subnet, not on the "wired"
The next step is to compare frames send/received when on the two networks. Something will likely tell for the network to be managed.
Beside, I'm still searching informations about NLA, which is responsible for setting a nework as managed or not.
    Here are some clues:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/networking/archive/2010/09/08/network-location-awareness-nla-and-how-it-relates-to-windows-firewall-profiles.aspx
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/49ea0a6b-9c03-407d-8e26-24a92849a282/network-location-awareness-signature?forum=w7itpronetworking
If anybody has official MS informations about NLA (A for Awareness and not Authentication), please share!
