Gauge Portlet  aren't deployed

Hi
I have a demo with OAS 10g R2 with Portal and Discoverer. In my server the pages are displayed without problem. but in my clients the pages are showed but without gauge portlet graph, the discoverer reports are displayed without problem. The discoverer viewer don't display anything because don´t find the server, but the portal page is deployed.
Do i need some java plug-in or something else.
Thanks for your help.
Alex

One thing to try would be to turn page cacheing off. I have had a similar problem, and pressing refresh after each change you make is slightly annoying. Despite the warning in portal, it doesn't actually slow performance down by too much.

  • Need both Instant Portal & Discoverer Gauge Portlet

    Hi,
Could anyone tell me which version of Oracle Application Server I need to install in order to use both Instant Portal and Discoverer Gauge Portlet? Thank you very much.

    Dominique,
In previous versions the Discoverer provider was exposed through the following URL:
    http://<hostname>:<port>/discoverer/portletproviderFor example:
http://myhost:7778/discoverer/portletproviderTry to access the provider test page using the above URL. If you can access it, register it with your Portal as a Web provider.
    Hope this helps,
    Peter

I do not have the discoverer guage portlet listed in the portlet repository. I searched for it and the only 2 options are worksheets and list of database workbooks.
How do I install the Discoverer gauge portlet. I have Oracle 10gAS portal.
    thanks,

  • How to Remove the "Analyze..." link from Discoverer Gauge Portlets

Is there a way (a hack, even?) to remove the "Analyze..." link from the Discoverer Gauge portlets? Or, can we redirect that link to point to a different Discoverer Worksheet?
As a work-around, we're using an HTML portlet below the gauge to link where we want to go, but the "Analyze..." link is still there, so it's confusing to the end user.
    Thanks!

One quick statement : These customizations are not supported by Oracle. These notes are purely for informational purposes. We cannot guarantee the ability to upgrade your Discoverer environment if you make these changes. Also note that if you want to log TARs and/or bugs against the Discoverer portlets after you have made any of the changes listed in the note shown above, Oracle Support can ask you to back out any changes and reproduce the problem.
    Thanks

  • Changes to portlet aren't updated

I have created a portlet from a URL application component. which displays the called page. When I update the called page, the changes aren't reflected in the portlet. I've tried the following:
    1. Login to portal as an admin user(example: portal30)
    2. Select the admin tab from the default home page
    3. Select the link Display Portlet Repository
    4. Click the Refresh link at the top of the page.
but it doesn't make the portlet update with the new page. One way which works is to click on the portlet "Customize" link, click apply on the Customize page, and click "OK". When the portlet returns, it is correct. However, it would be impossible to do this for all users when updates are made.
I'm sure someone has needed to refresh a portlet, so if anyone could provide a solution, I'd appreciate it.

One thing to try would be to turn page cacheing off. I have had a similar problem, and pressing refresh after each change you make is slightly annoying. Despite the warning in portal, it doesn't actually slow performance down by too much.

  • Portlet(JSR 168) deployment procedure

i have created portlet and wnat to know, how register the portlet under the producer to drag n drop into the another jspx page.
    Please explain the procedure...

You need to deploy to a WLS and then register the WSRP producer to your consuming application.
You can read my paper about portlets: http://www.yonaweb.be/sites/default/files/ipc_0.pdf
It explains the basic on how to create and consume portlets in WebCenter 11.1.1.3

  • Portlets aren't visible

I use a master-tab-bar for our company. Beyond this tabs is another tab-bar with the child-topics.
Our master-topic <A> is working fine. The child-topics from <A>, let's say <Aa>, <Ab> and <Ac> are visible, pressing on them shows the portlets that are assigned to it.
Another master-topic <B> isn't showing anything, when pressing on it. The child-topics from <B>, let's say <Ba>, <Bb> and <Bc> are visible, but the portlets are not shown... Workaround is: Pressing Customize or Edit-Page and after that directly Close shows the whole portles that are assigned to the child-topics...
Where is the problem? Is it a bug? Do I have made something wrong... ?

    Hi,
Please check the privileges of this tab and the privilges of the portlets in it. If it still happens please post this question in the portlet content areas discussion forum.
    Thanks,

I think, SUN is not al all interested in TOOL.If TOOL were just a language and had no market yet, you are probably

an existing and profitable market. Sun still sells FORTRAN, after all, and
continues to put money into ADE development for all its language

that Fusion, now iIS, is a very key product for them. There may be those
who wish it were written in Java and who might lobby for doing a Java
version, but it was clear at the conference that the iPlanet management
recognize that Java just isn't up to the task at this point. It isn't as
if all the iPlanet tools are actually written in Java, after all.
They will only support them for as long as they need.Or, more likely, for as long as they make money.
Now, in response to Microsofts .NET stratagy. We have yet to see how
succesfull this will be, but I expect Microsoft to push this down the
throats of developers and companies quite succesfully.Like they did DCOM?

  • Deployed portlet not seen under New channel drop down

    Hi,
I need to add a new portlet to my portal so user can select it under her content configuration page.
I have added the new portlet to a user's profile via the portlet admin console.
But the new portlet channel is not available in user's content configuration page.
    Any Idea ?

    Hi,
This problem occurs when display profile is not updated with portlet provider for some reasons
    Tips :
    1. Please check if Webcontainer instance is up.
    2. login to psconsole -> portals tab -> click on the portal name -> Click Add dn button and search for the dn to which you deployed the portlet -> Add it -> select
it from the select DN listbox and then download the display profile(dp)
If the portlet provider which you deployed is not present in the display profile
, then please undeploy the portlet and try deploying again.
    3) Before running the the portlet deploy, set the logger to FINEST and see if any errors are thrown, basically if should show dp updated and war file deployed.
    ./psadmin set-logger -u amadmin -f ps_password -m pas -O debug.com.sun.portal -L
    FINEST
    tail -f /var/opt/SUNWportal/logs/admin/portal.0.0.log

  • Trying to generate WSRP deployment from JPS complient portlets

In the WebCenter developers guide refer to chapter 18.9.3:
I have a JSR-168 portlet application build on the Servlet 2.3 standard, and now I want to deploy this to the WSRP Portlet container. To do this, first I must generate a WSRP ear file.
In the WebCenter framework there is a jar called wsrp-predeploy.jar.
With this jar I can convert an ear file with a JSR-168 portlet application in it, to a WSRP Portlet container 10.1.32 compatible ear file.
The problem is, I work behind a Windows XP terminal that is protected with the typical firewall / proxysettings inside a big network. It seems wsrp-predeploy.jar is explicitly trying to make a HttpConnectionURL. And this fails.
Also with setting the extra -Dhttp.proxyHost, -Dhttp.proxyPort parameters I have no succes. (Also tried this with the extra -Dhttp.proxySet, -Dhttp.proxyUsername, -Dhttp.proxyPassword)
Is there any workaround for solving above problem?

    Hi Steve,
The portlet application (this is: the application containing only the portlets) can be deployed with a normal war deployment profile. JDeveloper itself will take care of generating the wsdls for you, and you do not need to do predeployment.
The application consuming the portlets is a little more complicated. This needs a webcenter deployment profile, and when you want to deploy that on a server, you need to need to run the predeployment tool on the server where you are going to run the app. This time, the predeployment tool will validate the connections to the portlet container and do http calls to that container.
    To test the whole setup:
    - if you run and test locally, you can use jdev 10.1.3.3 and deploy the portlet ear to the webcenter standalone oc4j container. The consuming app can be run from within JDev using the embedded container.
    - if you want to deploy, often the portlet ear and the consuming ear run on the same machine, and predeployment should not be a problem.

  • Deployed portlet invisible in Access Manager when creating channel

    Hi
I'm hoping one of you can help me out on this one.
I'm trying to deploy a new build portlet, but get stuck when I want to create a new channel in SJS Access Manager.
For some reason my portlet is not shown in the dropdownlist.
Please note: the portal console is running on a other server than the application servers to which the portlet is deployed.
I've deployed the .war file using the following command:
    pdeploy delpoy -u "uid=xxxxx,ou=People,dc=xxx,dc=xx" -w xxxxxxxx -g xxxxxx -f /root/eurdeploy/usermapping /root/eurdeploy/$1
(xxx's are not the real values ;-) )
Everything seems to be deployed correctly. I can also see the portlet correctly being deployed in the application server console.
    Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Kind regards,

I've already tried that several times.
    Deploy/undeploy seems to work correctly.
As already mentioned, the portlet is shown in all 4 instances of the Application Server, however it remains invisible in the Access Manager.
Is it possible that is has something to do with the fact that we have 4 AS' running on 1 machine in 4 virtual zones?

  • How to DEPLOY and ACCESS JSR 168 portlet in weblogic server

  • Deploying JSR168 Portlet's into Portal

    Hi,
I developed a simple ADF portlet's in Jdev 11g. I also deployed into integrated WLS (as shown in Oracle's developer guide) and the URL http://host:port/context-root/portlets/wsrp2?WSDL shows WDSL correctly
Now I want to deploy the same portlet into an external Weblogic Server 10.3. I created and uploaded the .war file and deployed via weblogic console.
The deploy seemed to finish correctly because I see in the console my web application deployed but I don't see the wsdl (in http://externawlshost:port/context-root/portlets/wsrp2?WSDL).
Until the WSDL is visible I can't add the producer to Oracle Portal.
Do I need to do something else in the deploy process?
    Thank You,
    Andre

    Hi All,
I am facing the same issue. My ADF portlet application got deployed successfully into integrated weblogic server and can access the WSDL end point also.
But when I am trying to deploy it to an external weblogic through weblogic console, could not able to access the WSDL url.
Can anbody tell me what could be the issue. Do I need to have a WSRP container in my weblogic? If so, how to install it?
