I dunno what I'm doing wrong but when I log in and type either startx or xinit I'll be on a black screen with the clock from my tint2 systray in one corner. I can't right-click and I don't have a mouse. I used this beginners guide:

Transient Resolver Failure often means /etc/resolv.conf isn't filled out (If using DHCP, ensure DHCPD is running).
I know how you feel to go from one problem to the next, I'm having VNC issues myself and can't find a solution to my issue whereas this worked fine in openSUSE previously. It does get frustrating but in the end so long as we document/make a mental note of it we shouldn't end up back here!

Hi. I just upgraded to ITunes 11.
I also have an IPod Touch. In ITunes 10, I could add documents to some IPod apps by dragging the files into the File Sharing area.
For instance, from the Finder, I could drag ebooks to the Kindle app, scripts to the Final Draft app, Quicktime movies to a video playing app and lots of different documents to an app called GoodReader.
I don't see any way to add documents in this way in ITunes 11. Is there a way to do it? If not, it seems like a huge drawback compared to version 10.

Do you have a menu file?

if so then you can use that
"cp /etc/xdg/menus/gnome-applications.menu ~/.config/menus/applications.menu"
Edit the first part to fit what you have.
Else you can generate a xdg menu (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/XdgMenu) and use that. You may have to play around with it a bit to get it right, not sure where I got my menu's But something like this might work:
"xdg_menu --fullmenu"

You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

Firefox can't load a Siemens Gigaset network camera but IE8 can. There is an error in the code from the cam. Could Firefox ignore this and display the image anyway ? eg. with Ignore / Abort.

I run Windows-XP SP3 and I can't get the image from a Siemans Gigaset cam. There is an error in the cam code (a lacking rutine) . IE8 ignores this and displays the image anyway.
Is it possible to get a notification like Ignore/Abort/ Continue ???

Does the documentation for that camera, or for the software with it, say anything about ActiveX or about H.264?
If so, it isn't compatible with Firefox - it doesn't do ActiveX and it doesn't support H.264 in the HTML5 standard. Microsoft just released a plugin for Firefox that adds H.264 support to Firefox, but IIRC that only covers Windows 7 - not WinXP.

1. The usual Premiere Elements 8 drill.
a. Are the automatic features of Background Rendering and AutoAnalzyer turned Off?
For Background Rendering, see Premiere Elements workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/General. For AutoAnalzyer, see Elements Organizer workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalyzer Options.
b. Are you running the program from the 8.0.1 Update? If not, see Help Menu/Update?
c. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1?

a. Is computer opitimized, defragmented, etc.

b. Are you running your computer from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? That is important for Premiere Elements 8 as well as for its
required QuickTime. In addition, right click the computer desktop icon for Premiere Elements 8 and select and apply Run As Administrator.
3. Project Specifics
For now, import your source media into the project from the computer hard drive using the project's Get Media/Files and Folders. Leave the Elements Organizer and Albums out of the equation for now. We will circle back to it soon after we decide everything else is working as it should be.
a. You need to set a project preset. And, that project preset should match the properties of your source media. So important to know properties of source media.
b. When you import your source media into a project you will get a red line over its content if the project preset is not a match - either because you set the wrong one or the program does not have a match for your particular video. That red line means that you are not seeing the best possible preview of what is being played back in the Edit area monitor. To get the best possible preview, you hit the Enter key of the computer main keyboard to get a rendered Timeline (red line goes from red to green after this type of rendering). That green line over your rendered Timeline indicates that you are now getting the best possible preview. This is solely a preview thing. Longer story, but I will leave it at that for now.
c. Check Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks to assure that those Scratch Disks are being saved to a computer hard drive location with enough free space to accept them. Make sure that you do not have pile ups of previews files, conformed audio files, and conformed video files.

Never move, delete, or rename source files after they have been imported into a project which has been saved/closed. Otherwise, nasty media disconnect problems. You have only copies of media in Premiere Elements. The originals are on the hard drive, and the project must trace back to the originals where they were at import.
Based on the above, try to start a new project. But, let me know ahead of time what you will be importing into the project. I am looking for

pixel aspect ratio
If you do not know, we could try to get that type of information from knowing the brand/model/settings for the camera that recorded the video.

I've been having a problem with my PO since upgrading to 8.0.2 hp1. (NetWare)
The PO will throw the following error into the Administrator email and the server will crash with no abend information. Just hard lock with a black screen:

If you chose to "forget" a device in the bluetooth settings, you'll simply need to put that device back into pairing mode (or "discovery" mode) for the iPod touch to find it once more. You may need to refer to the bluetooth speaker's documentation or manufacturer for information on how to do so.

I have a tab page (with 3 tabs) that has controls on it (such as text boxes, etc) that I duplicated using DuplicateCtrl. Now I would like to set/get the values from the text boxes that are on the dupicated tab page. My questions is, how do I obtain the controlID of the text-box control? The original page has a specific name for the text box control, in the .uir file, however after duplication, what does the controlID become? Restated another way, the question is: if I duplicate a tab dynamically (on the fly) that has controls on it, how can I access the individual controls for get/set operations?

From my Struts app I'm trying to upload a file from the browser to the
server, the file uploads fine, BUT the only problem is I keep getting this

Trolling the net it seems this is quite a common problem but no one seems to
know the answer other than assuming that request.getInputStream() is being
called - well I'm not & have absolutely no idea why this is happening!
I've even setup the example upload app that come's with Struts & I still get
the same warning - surely not normal?
I'm not reading from the ServletInputStream unless this is being done behind
the scenes, really hit a brick wall with this one & can't find anyway around
it!
Can anyone help please?, can it be fixed or possibly safe to ignore (don't
like doing that of course but there comes a time in the god awful world of
J2EE that you have to produce something instead of messing around for days!)

Pl post exact versions of "10g" and "11gR2", along with the OS details.
As the warning states, you need to wait for the MVIEW refreshes to complete before starting with the upgrade steps.
If you do not care about the MVIEWs or if this is a test database. you can proceed, with the understanding that the data in the MVIEWs may be incomplete or corrupt.

Whenever I open a CS6 application, I get a Creative Cloud message: "We are having trouble verifying your membership" with a number of days remaining. I'm on a Mac, I used to have a CC membership but opted to go with CS6. Can I ignore this message?

I'm concerned that ignoring the message may impact using CS6. Or am I misguided?

If you are seeing this message, then it is very likely that something is messed up. CS6 should have an activation process. It should work irrelevant of your now out of date CC account. But it doesn't appear to be doing that for you. Contact Customer Service before you are locked out. It may be that you won't be locked out, but do you really want to wait incase, it happens.
The present activation and account system doesn't work well. I have TCS on my PC with Photoshop CS6 (I believe). It should not be contaminated by my CS6 MS and CC software on my Mac. But it seems to get counted as an activation on my account. Go figure. I am only suggesting preventative action in case it bites you. I am not customer service nor technical support. I can only give you advice based upon my experience.

You can only hide some updates (i believe only OS X updates). You can do so by right clicking or control clicking in the blank area around the description or title of the update in the App Store list and choosing hide update. If you'd like to restore them, choose the Store option from the menu bar and then "show all software updates"
you can alternatively use the Terminal to "ignore" updates and reset "ignored updates". For more information on that open Terminal and type:
softwareupdate info
