Gayle Brewer RVO42

I have a new RV042 that I replaced a WRV54g with.  The problem is that the remote desktop from outside our network does not work.  The terminal server is listening on port 3389 and from a subnet remote desltop works ok.  I have forwarded port 3389 to the terminal server.  I users to access the terminal server from their home computer.  When i reconnect the WRV54g all works like it should.  Help !
Thank you, Gayle Brewer

  • RVO42 PORT 25

I am having issues with my public IP being black listed.  This is something new, but the Comcast rep tells me they are seeing this more and more.  It seems that even if you aren't hosting your own email server, even your public IP at your location is carried in the message header and is subject to being blacklisted. With that in mind,  it looks as though I am going to have to start blocking port 25 for all outbound traffic with the exception of traffic bound for the  hosted email server (SMTP) out on the Internet.  Can this be done in the RVO42 and RVO82?
Looking forward to an answer to this and as I say, it sounds like this is something we all will have to start doing.

It has been about a week and my customer is de-listed by all the spam sites I can find.  I have changed the port that they use to send email to their mail server out on the Internet and have blocked port 25 for all outbound traffic.  We also did scan all machines on the network and never found anything that seemed like the source of the spam. Nevertheless, one site I looked at reported the last instance of outbound spam on the same day that I blocked port 25. It would still be interesting to know if the RVOs can permit port 25 traffic to only one IP on the Internet. Oh, and for residential cable yes, I have seen where ISPs  block port 25 but for commerical Internet as is the case here, they can't really do that or it would shut down mail servers at  customer's location. It would also cause a problem if email were hosted on another provider out on the Internet as well.

  • Streaming video in FlashLite BREW wanted!

Does anybody can provide a sample code for streaming video in
    Flash lite Brew phones, thanks!

You can't "stream" (stream in a literal sense—i.e. FLV
streaming through a streaming server) video using Flash Lite. If
you are interested in playing a video (like a .3GP) via Flash Lite,
refer to the Flash Lite 2.0 SDK from Adobe. The resturant sample
has code to play a video. It should work the same on BREW.

  • Gfortran object file not finding the libgfortran.3.dylib in the gcc4.9 folder installed using home-brew (default gcc-4.2). mac 10.8.5

I have a mac 10.8.5. Dont have xcode installed and dont want to install unless needed. using homebrew for installation of most packages.

    'brew install gcc'
    This installed gcc-4.9 on /usr/local/Cellar

Often these are represented as "drive OK" or "drive fail" respectively. A "threshold exceeded" value is intended to indicate that there is a relatively high probability that the drive will not be able to honor its specification in the future: that is, the drive is "about to fail". The predicted failure may be catastrophic or may be something as subtle as the inability to write to certain sectors, or perhaps slower performance than the manufacturer's declared minimum."

  • BREW LG Dare (9700)

hi all. this is my first post. I have been developing in
Flash for a long time now, and am brand new to the mobile device
realm. I recently purchased the LG Dare and was stoked to find out
it supported flash through the brew platform. But then quickly
discouraged to find out that it will cost me $400 a year to have
access to the Brew Tools suite. Also discouraged by he fact the in
Flash Lite CS3 the LG 9700 is not available.. infact all the LG
phones are grey out in the emulator.
Wondering if anyone might be able to steer me in the right
direction for testing / installing my flash lite apps on my LG Dare
with out this BREW Tools Suite. I don't know what i am doing yet,
just playing around, so its really not worth me coughing up all the
mula to get started. Also, is there a device update coming out
    soon, for the LG Dare?
    Erik

I know this is an old thread but Figured i would put in some answers to some of the questions talked about here for future visitors and I was hoping to get some answers of my own..
LG Dare vx9700 GPS.... VZW has this locked up and only VZ Nav can use the GPS on this phone..
At this current Time You do not need to spend any money for making apps for the phone if you use swf files and replace the wallpaper or tools that are already in the phone.. But if you want to use Mod files you have to pay the fees in order to get access to the test sig which are only good for a year and if you want a sig file that does not exp then you have to pay to have your app true brew tested as well along with paying for the sig file..
The Dare has code issues when it comes to using the flash content for wallpaper.. For some reason the code that is running when the phone is in normal state does not allow all apps to update in a timely manor. But if the phone is running in charge mode or if you keep touching the screen or keys the flash wallpaper updates and animation looks correct..
My question is How do i code the flash content to minic me touching the screen or keys in order to get the animation running smoothly?
Also I still have not found good documention on how to program icons with in the flash content to activate/run other Brew apps. Any help would be Great.
One other Thing.. I have not yet had any success with getting the MOD files to work on this phone.. any one know why?
    Best Regards

  • BREW SMS recieved when sending or recieving e-mail

Every time I send or receive an e-mail through my G-mail accounts I receive an SMS text message from the number 6363 saying BREW then a whole bunch of stuff but not the actual message. I have a screenshot I just don't know how to put it in here.

For reasons unknown to many users, Apple chose to remove any sort of helpful indicator of sending or receiving from the Mail app. The little circles, when they do work, I do not consider good indicators of the process. Having to open an activity viewer is not a very good solution. I know there has been lots of feedback to Apple, but a little more never hurt. Let them know.

  • Using loadMovie() in BREW with ".bar" file

I want to develop a demo brew application in flashlite. The
BREW uses ".bar" files for external resources like images, sound
etc. I just want to know how to use external source in flashlite.
I tried it with loadMovie() function but with loadMovie() I
can only load external swf file and images.
As flashlite suggests to use any swf file with extension
".bar" like "example.swf.bar", I want to load all images into the
"example.swf.bar" and use these into my application. I did it with
loadMovie(), it is workin fine but I'm not able to access and
manipulate the movieclips which are in "example.swf.bar" file.
can anyone tell me how to use external images with ".bar"
    files in flashlite?

don't know if you still got the question but our Brew Dev. modified the  loadMovie() function a bit and then it worked, should also be on the forum somewhere

  • Testing of Java J2ME on BREW simulator

    Dear friends,
I have developed a Java J2ME application and wishes to test it on a BREW simulator. I understand that the simulator runs BREW applications written in C/C++. I sincerely like to seek your kind assistance on where I can find the necessary JVM and J2Bridge to test my Java application on the BREW emulator. This will aid in my porting of my Java application onto the BREW platform.
Any suggestion on BREW emulators supporting JAVA and further infomation is greatly appreciated!
    Many thanks!
    Regards,
    Chai Ming Jie

Rumour has it BREW 2.0 and upwards supports running MIDlets. I haven't used it, don't know if it works (in fact, rumour also has it that it doesn't work on any of the phones available today), but that's the word.
I'm sure you'll get better answers to a question like this on a BREW forum, though.

  • Possibility of upgrading server packets using MacPorts or Brew

    Hello there.
There is Mac OS server 10.5.8 with Samba. Version of this Samba is 3.0.25b-apple.
There is problem with saving files from Excel2003 to Samba sharepoint and other small troubles.
This problem fixed in Samba 3.0.36 and last stable release of Samba is 3.5.4.
Does anyone know: is it possible to upgrade Mac OS Samba to newer version using MacPorts or Brew or someone else?
Thank you and excuse me for my dirty english.

I had found some possibility of that updating but it's not for real using in real life, it is for geek's experiments only.

  • Can i execute a j2me application in a BREW phone

    Hai friends,
Can i execute a j2me application in a BREW phone , if it is how? or should i need to go for any special certifications or convertions to make executable in BREW.B'caz i was not able to find the BREW emulator for j2ME?
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi
Yes you can run J2ME applications from a BREW device. But before doing that, you need to install the BREW extention to support J2ME. Which is nothing but the JVM.
This can either be done over the air or manually.
Check out this page: http://brew.qualcomm.com/brew/en/about/java/white_paper_03.html for more details.
esmertec is one of the companies that has developed this BREW extention for J2ME. You can check esmertec.com for more details.

  • Flash lite 2.1 brew publisher for cs4

I have CS4, flash lite 2.1 and brew sdk 3.1.5 installed.
But I could not find a brew publisher for cs4. On adobe site
publishers for cs3 and flash pro 8 are available. But while trying
    to install they give error,
"The required version of flash could not be found."
Can any one suggest a solution?

Perhaps may there be an update? Try updating the software.
Hopefully that can work for you.

  • FL for Brew Post Proccessor has Expired? HELP!

FL for Brew Post Proccessor has Expired. Please obtain a new
version to generate applications for BREW.
I tried to reinstall the post processor after downloading it
again and the message still comes up?
This comes at a bad time.. what do I do?

I contacted Adobe support about this and got a reply on the
evening of sept 6, along with a new BREW post processor. The new
post-processor allows me to test in the Brew simulator again
without setting my clock back. However, it still doesn't work on
the actual phone (the way it did with the pre sept 1 version.) So
    I'm still stuck as well.
I was informed that they expected the final version to be
ready before September, which is why the put the "time bomb" in the
July release. Also, I was informed that they would upload a new
Brew post-processor this evening, but that hasn't happened yet. I
bet there are a couple developers at Adobe frantically working on
bug fixes to the new Brew post processor as I type this. I guess
most of us on this forum can identify with them.

  • Stopping A Message That Comes Through As //BREW:0108f3d4:GCD???

I just switched to the Motorola Droid X about a month ago. I didn't buy the phone new & ever since about once a day I get a text message from a 4756 number with this message //BREW:0108f3d4:GCD. I've tried replying back with STOP & it hasn't worked. Does anyone know how to stop this or what it even is? Thanks!

pool_shark may be right...   I found this like for BB that had same error and this is the replu from Verizon to this user... http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?p=5548323#post5548323
Ok, well I got a response back from Verizon support today and here's what they said...
""Ms. Smith, the "//BREW:0108f3d4:GCD " notification message you're receiving is an indication that you were previously using a mobile device that was a Media Center/Get It Now compatible device and that you previously downloaded Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless (BREW) applications to your previous model phone. *Our records reflect that you were previously using the Verizon Wireless Blitz and LG Cosmos VN250 model phones on wireless number ***-***-**** prior to activating the BlackBerry Curve 8530 Smartphone you currently using on your wireless number. *The LG Cosmos VN250 and Verizon Wireless Blitz model phones are both Media Center/Get It Now compatible device and BREW compatible devices. *My name is Robert, and it will be my pleasure to provide you with additional information about the "//BREW:0108f3d4:GCD " notification message you've been receiving on your current mobile device's screen display.
Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless (BREW) is an open, standard platform for wireless devices that allows multiple media messages (music, videos, games, etc) to be transmitted to a single device. *For example, our records reflect that you've previously downloaded and canceled two recent applications on the same day you activated your BlackBerry Curve 8530 Smartphone (i.e., Backup Assistant and Social Beat) as your current BlackBerry device is not a Get It Now/Media Center compatible, BREW enabled mobile device.""
From there they instructed me to do a "soft reset" on my phone by powering it off and removing the battery for one to two minutes. Afterward I was to put the battery back in, power on the phone and perform the OTA programming for roaming updates. Apparently this should solve the issue with the weird message. Now I just have to wait and see if it works.
Hope this helps someone else and again, thank you all for the replies!

  • I am new to both Flash and BREW. Please, help

    Hello,
I am developing an application (Fl Lite 2.1) which I want to load an XML file from a server.
And my application is working fine in Adobe device central CS ( I do not use any Policy File , but it still works, which is also confusing )
but it refuse to connect in the Simulator. Then I traced some security settings...
    hasDataLoading: true
    hasQWERTYKeyboard: true
    localFileReadDisable: true
    hasAccessibility: false
    hasScreenBroadcast: false
    hasSharedObjects: true
    in the Device Central
    and
    2009-10-26 04:16:15 | brewdebug.cpp:68 - trace hasDataLoading: false
    2009-10-26 04:16:15 | brewdebug.cpp:68 - trace hasQWERTYKeyboard: false
    2009-10-26 04:16:15 | brewdebug.cpp:68 - trace localFileReadDisable: true

    2009-10-26 04:16:15 | brewdebug.cpp:68 - trace hasScreenBroadcast: false
    2009-10-26 04:16:15 | brewdebug.cpp:68 - trace hasSharedObjects: true
    in the Simulator
I know that the problem is with hasDataLoading: false setting, but how to change it?
Another interesting thing is that the phone in the device central has no QWERTY keyboard, while in the Simulator I choose Generic QWERTY device...
    Can you advice, please?

    Hi,
I will follow up on this question as well.
I too have problems connecting to the Simulator, i got this:
    hasDataLoading: true
    hasQWERTYKeyboard: true
    localFileReadDisable: true
    hasAccessibility: false
    hasScreenBroadcast: false
    hasSharedObjects: fasle
