GB  Cannot Find Guitar Rig Plugin

After using Migration Assistant to bring my system to the G5 Quad from my old G4, Guitar Rig starts up fine running standalone. However, GB cannot see the plugin. The GuitarRig.component file is in Library/Audio/Plugins but GB does not list it as an effect. Thanks for any help!
Guitar Rig version is 1.2.1

I'm not familiar with Guitar Rig, but I never trust the Migration feature of Mac OS (Forgive my Blasphemy, Leader). I wonder if there are some needed support files that weren't transferred.
Did GR come with an Installer? If so, the first thing I would do is try installing GR from the original CD/DVD, or D/Led file if it was an online purchase.

  • Logic Pro can't find Guitar Rig 5

    I just downloaded Guitar Rig 5 Pro, and I have activated it. But I can't seem to find it in Logic Pro. It's not under I/O and AU instruments. I have Kontakt 5 and Reaktor 5, but Guitar Rig is not there.  Doesn't Guitar Rig have any library and sounds?
    I only bought Guitar Rig to get different types of guitar sounds.
    Guitar Rig is in the correct folder, named .components. When I try to rescan Guitar Rig is listed as Guitar Rig 5 FX and Guitar Rig 5 MFX. Still can't find Guitar Rig in Logic Pro.
    I'm able to open Guitar Rig 5 as a stand alone, but not able to play any sounds. I don't play guitar, I only have a MIDI-keyboard.
    Have Logic Pro 9.

    No.. GR5 is a Guitar Amp emulator... You can take an electric guitar instrument like those found in Logic Pro's instrument plugins.. and then put GR5 in an effect slot and select various different effect presets to create the sound of different guitar sounds.. like Heavy Metal or Blues guitars.. or emulations of sounds from famous guitar solos....
    You still have to play your keyboard to 'play' the guitar but with careful practise you can get pretty authentic sounding guitars to add to your songs....
    I made a quick demo a while ago using some of the guitar instrument presets in LPX along with the effects created in GR5

    It should give you an idea of what is possible, if nothing else...

  • Logic Express don't find Guitar Rig

    Hello,I am using Logic Express for Intel based MacBook Pro, but it does'n find my Guitar Rig, actually sometimes it find G.R. and sometimes don't.... so I moved my "GuitarRig 2.component" from components folder to desktop and then moved again to components folder and it works .... why ?

    I had this problem too. Just move the GuitarRig.component file from:
    \Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\Components\
    to:
    \YourHomeFolder\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\Components\
    and restart Logic.
    Let me know if this helps you!

  • Safari cannot find the internet plugin?!?

    Hi,
    When I try to listen to something on a website I chose Windows Media but I get this error "This page has content of MIME type “application/x-mplayer2”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:" and it links me to Microsoft to download Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X, but when I try to download it, I get this error;
    "Safari can’t open the page “http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/f/3/0f347443-f1ff-4830-9b20-65da2c6bf11 1/WindowsMediaInstaller.bin” because it can’t find the server “download.microsoft.com”."
    I looked in applications, but i don't even have Internet Explorer in there (that I can find anyway).
    I would appreciate any help, Thanks

    Hi,
    Radiomat worked fine for me. I tried it with pop-ups both on and off and either way it seemed to launch the same mini player window (with pop-ups blocked I did have to click the link to launch the player). Not much appeared to load into the player window but the audio stream did work correctly.
    I tried looking at the code but quickly got lost, so I'm not sure what format they are using to broadcast.
    Is it still not working for you (maybe they fixed things overnight :-)? If not, does it work from a test user account?

  • Cannot find the BlackSheep" plugin.

    Can anyone explain how can I install the plugin called BlackSheep, which will protect me from the FireSheep 'Hack'?

    Do you connect to open WiFi networks, or those with WEP encryption? If you do you could potentially be at risk. If you use WiFi networks that use WPA or WPA2 then you are not at risk.

    I searched everywhere but I still not find them so I'm not able to add more press..
    I use a MacBookPro 2.66 GHz, I7, 8 GB , with Maverick (10.9.1) , Logic X (10.0.4) and Guitar Rig 5 (5.1.0) as a plug (AU) obviously in Logic X .

    ~/Library/Audio/Presets/Native Instruments/GuitarRig 5 /Sounds
    ~/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/ GuitarRig5

    MacBookPro 2.66 GHz, core i7, 8 GB Ram, OS Maverick 10.9.1
    Logic X 10.0.4
    Guitar Rig 5 - 5.1.0

    <System drive>/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Guitar Rig 5/Sounds/
    Note: This is the System Library and not the User Library and is found in the root of your System Drive...
    If you cannot find them manually, use Find Any File to locate them
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
    and search for ngrr

  • IPlanet plugin for WebLogic not working - cannot find function named wl_init

    Hi,
    I have been having this issue for the last two days. It relates to
    IPlanet plugin for WbLogic. Following is the error I get:
    [17/Apr/2003:11:41:26] config ( 2069): func_exec reports: cannot find
    function named wl_init [17/Apr/2003:11:41:26] failure ( 2069):
    Configuration initialization failed: Error running init function
    wl_init: unknown error
    Here is my environment:
    SUN E-250 Server
    Solaris 8.0 with recommended Patch-set
    iPlanet-WebServer-Enterprise/6.0SP4
    Web logic 7 SP2
    Here is how I have edited magnus.conf to include the following lines:
    Init fn="load-modules"
    shlib="/usr/iplanet/servers/plugins/lib/libproxy.so" func
    s="wl_proxy,wl_init" Init fn="wl_init"
    #ServerRoot /usr/iplanet/servers/https-cablevision5
    ..... rest of the file ..........
    As you have noticed I have put everything regrding plugin in one line.
    I have also used various other combinations of breaking this line
    into multiple lines but no use.
    What I have also noticed is that if I change the name of libproxy.so
    to some other arbitrary file name that does not exist, even then the
    error message does not change. So it looks like the library is not
    even being loaded.
    The library file is owned by root and has permissions to read and
    execute for everyone.
    I will really appreciate is I can get any help. I have noticed that
    there are folks who have posted similar problem, no one gave an answer
    to them. Please be more generous this time in furnishing with your
    opinion.
    Thanks
    Jamal

    I will try and be as descriptive as possible. I hate the posts that
    dont give any help.
    Anyway you did not mention anything about your obj.conf configuration.
    Here is how it should look, e.g.:
    Init fn="load-modules" funcs="wl-proxy,wl-init"\
    shlib=/usr/local/netscape/plugins/libproxy.so
    Init fn="wl-init"
    <Object name="weblogic" ppath="*/weblogic/*">
    Service fn=wl-proxy WebLogicHost=myweblogic.server.com\
    WebLogicPort=7001 PathTrim="/weblogic"
    </Object>
    Check the following url:
    http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/admindocs/nsapi.html
    Ok,so you probably have those in there. If not, then please check
    that you have directives in obj.conf and the magnus.conf as well.
    Again the service line should be all one line.
    Next, are you proxying by path or by suffix. I.E. do you want
    everything to go to weblogic or just .jsp. You can configure either
    way. This will change your directive. Specifically ppath means proxy
    by path. To proxy by file extension (or what i call suffix) then look
    at this url for specifics:
    http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/admindocs/nsapi.html#exts (notice the
    anchor in the link)
    Post how it goes...

    I have an Apple MacBook Pro 1,1 Mac OS X 10.6.8. I have tried to load Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4LE.
    It would not load and said the following. System extension cannot be used.
    The system extension "/system/library/Extensions/AppleUSBthernetHost.text" was installed improperly and cannot be used.
    Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product vendor for an update.
    I do not have a copy of the OS X 10.6.8 software. It is second hand so I have no product vendor to contact.
    What can I do?

    You recently updated iTunes to v.11.4? This message has popped up on many a Mac screen when this version was first made available, because this kext was obviously faulty.
    You should try to download iTunes 11.4 again from Apple's website: the new version bears the same name, but this kernel extension has been updated, and the issues it was causing are now a thing of the past.
    Should solve your problem, too...

  • Guitar Rig 2 - HELP PLEASE!!

    Alright brothers, I know this is the Logic forum, I don't doubt that for an instant. But when a company with the reputation for quality such as native instruments drops the ball on offering the simplest bit of gratitude for purchasing their product - tech support - I decided to turn to my bros here in the Logic Forum . ..
    I just got Guitar Rig 2 earlier today. I set it all up, installed the software, registered it, installed all the necessary drivers, installed the two update off the Native Instruments website, and still I have immense problems with this promising device.
    In the standalone mode, GT 2 shows that it is receiving no audio input whatsoever from Rig Kontrol 2 (yes, I have the input gain turned up on RK2). . . however when I move the expression pedal and click the stomp boxes, everything works as it should. When i switch patches, I get the appropriate buzzes from overdrive boxes through my monitors.
    When I switch to using it as a plugin in Logic, it receives input just fine, and Rig Kontrol does what its supposed to do. However, I do not get any output from my monitors. However, all other audio that is NOT related to Guitar Rig works fine. In order to get monitoring while using it as a plugin, i have to plug my headphones into the back of Rig Kontrol, or run the line outs from Rig Kontrol into my monitors directly.
    While i am getting no input signal at all in the standalone version, I at least get some kind of buzz or hum indicating that if it DID get input, i would be able to hear the results through my monitors.
    Also, in standalone mode, when I go to preferences, it doesn't allow me to select Rig Kontrol as the input device. . . nor does it offer the option. I am totally perplexed. . . and there's no one at Native Instruments. . . (no joke, that's what they said when I called about 30 times today)
    If ANYONE knows how to make GT 2 fully funtional, please help! Thanks guys.

    Having just installed GR2 on my MacBook Pro (17") I was apalled at the results I got. Stuttering audio and then completely packing in, unable to find it in Logic Pro as either a plug in or an instrument. I hopped along to the Native Instrument website and was very disappointed with the lack of drivers for the new Intel based Macs and poor support from NI.
    It appears that this issue has been going on for many, many months. Most of the other applications I use (Reason, BFD) sorted the issues fairly quickly and I cannot believe that NI still have not come up with the goods. It is quite interesting that they are about to do a tour in America of GR2 on the Mac when all new Macs are now Intel based. My guess is that they have sorted the issue but in a diabolical show of contempt for their customers they have not made it available to us.
    NI posted this on their web site "Nearly all NI products are fully compatible with the new Apple Mac X OS 10.4 operating system without the need to install any NI update. While upgrading to Mac OS 10.4, we recommend choosing the installation type "Upgrade Mac OS X"
    This does not appear to be true and I believe NI have misinterpreted GR2. The update is stated to be ready by October 2006. I am not holding my breath!!

  • Guitar Rig and Third Party Controllers

    For Guitar Rig users
    I bought the Behringer FCB1010 MIDI foot controller to replace the limited Rig Kontrol. I have programmed it and it works great with Guitar Rig
    I also run Guitar Rig as a plug-in in Garage Band and I can record real instrument tracks with Guitar Rig effects. However under this scenario the Guitar Rig software doesn't respond to the FCB's commands which doesn't allow me to use the expression medal or change any effects during the recording. The GarageBand MIDI indicator does flash when I step on the controller however the sound isn't getting over to Guitar Rig.
    I'm very frustrated it over this. Can someone help?
    Thanks
    JG

    I think your interpretation is correct. When you get GR you'll find that it has a Learn function so that you can pass to it whatever codes you want. I was actually able to setup several effects on/off parameters, switch GR presets within a bank, the two expression pedals.
    When I run GR in GarageBand the GR plug in doesn't respond to any of the commands from the FCB.
    Here is what NI's suppport person sent to me:
    "the problem occurs due to a Garage Band limitaion which makes the send midi function nearly unusable.
    If you plug in Guitar Rig FX on an audio track you cannot send midi to it. And If you use it as an audio instrument you could send midi to GR, but because Garage Band does not support a sidechain function of audio instruments, you cannot record audio. To record audio you need to use the FX version of GR (same as in Logic), but you cannot send midi to an FX in Garage Band.
    This is defenitely a big limitation of this host sequencer. "
