GB v11(6.0.5) update
I have grageband v11(6.0.4) on mountain lion(8.0.2) I have just tried to update GB to 6.0.5 and got this -need GB version 6 or higher!! I have never had V6 but did upgrade fromV 10 - I am baffled, anyone have any ideas?

you currently have version 6: version 6.0.4 (from iLife '11)
alashton wrote:

there has never been a version 10 (iLife '09 had version 5.x.x)

only 1: have you moved or renamed the GB app?

ITunes v11 steals focus when updating applications
iTunes continually takes focus away from other programs while it is downloading updates to existing applications.
I search through the preferences and cannot find a place to tell it to stop.
Please advise on how to stop it!!!
iTunes version 11.0.0.163
WIndows 7 x64bitI have found a fix that works for me using iTunes v. 11.0.2.6 and Windows 8
The fix however eliminates ANY program from stealing focus in windows. Which I prefer anyway. This means that you will have to pay attention to your desktop bar or start menu for flashing. This will let you know the program is asking for your attention.
Open Regedit
Browse to HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\
Change “ForegroundLockTimeout” to “30d40” (make sure this is in HEX not Decimal)
Restart your Computer.
For those of you worried about messing with your registry, it is a serious thing to do and it should NOT be taken lightly, Here’s the Page from Microsoft telling you what the key is so you know this is legit fix. I always recommend backing up your registry and creating a save point BEFORE making any changes.

How to-- update adobe to watch videos
http://www.adobe.com/misc/unsupported_device.html
How in the world do I know my phone is smart and yet it is acting incapable of the most basic smartphone function? Glitch of the day right? This has been unsupported for a couple months. I'm not going to the computer to connect with. This, perhaps, will be my last resort.Gamster wrote:
I already have this option ON. However, is it not normal for this function to automatically update itself? If so then my "glitched" phone appears to unexpectedly be not responding to any updates. Perhaps, it is possible the 10 OS update on the 28th of Jan will correct this matter.
My guess is that Adobe Flash is integrated into the OS, browsing reviews seems to suggest that V11 is installed.
Updates would probably come via Blackberry and not Adobe.
Do you have a problem with videos in browser and youtube ?. -
I purchase N79 recently. I saw on this forum that v30 is the latest available. However when I try to update my v11, NSU says no update available. Why is that so ?
I was searching for the update by entering the product code at
http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-upda...
And it also says the samething, i.e. v11 is latest
Any idea when the updates are supposed to be available in India.
Thanks
SawanHUH!!! V3.0? Are you sure? V2.0 just came out now you talking about V30? Some people haven't had the 2.0 yet. I don't see how V30 be out, that's weird. Anyways if you can put some pictures on or tell us what are the new stuff in the new FW. Thanks
Hold on now, you sure your not talking about Nokia 5800? Because that's the one with the firmware V31...

My N95 is not updating to v12 from v11 using Nokia Software Update. I get the message"Your phone isalready updated to the latest version". I checked thefirmware version on the phone and it is v11. Please help!
The availability of updates for Nokias is based on the Product Code (located on the sticker on the phone underneath the battery)
It is not available for all product codes yet, but is being rolled out gradually...
Usually the people that have to wait the longest are those that have got their phones through the networks, rather than bought them sim-free... but that's just one of the downsides of doing it that way.

Hi. I have n96 (product code 0572967 ) it is contracted by tim company an running vith v11.018.
why not updated to v12.043 or 20.050 or 30.033.Nokia can you set v30.033.
im tired i wait about 1 year, my phone is very slovely, i love my phone faster???
Solved!
Go to Solution. The problem is your network, TIM, not nokia.
Before nokia is allowed to release updates for network branded/supplied phones they must get permission from the network.
Some networks are very slow at doing this and some networks do not bother at all.
So unfortunately you are stuck with v11 until TIM says otherwise. Try complaining to the network. -
Is the 5530 a lost cause?
It seems to be the forgotten about brother of the 5800, Its buggy as hell, sure there is a V2 update which very few people can get and those who have say its made matters worse
For me we have the following issues
Very poor quality on youtube, infact unwatchable
BBC Iplayer doesn't work at all
Web browser that keeps exiting
Unreliable battery indicator
Phone turns of when receiving a call
Light that flashes even after you've read the message
Lines appearing across screen
Lock ups
Reboots
All in all not got, and a factory reset does no good,Very poor quality on youtube, infact unwatchable - Seems the same as the 5800 to me when used over wi-fi.
BBC Iplayer doesn't work at all - Thats the BBCs fault, not Nokia's.
Web browser that keeps exiting - I had that issue with a couple of sites in the v11 firmware, v20 fixed it for me with those particular sites. You could always use an alternative browser like skyfire or opera mobile/mini for troublesome sites.
Unreliable battery indicator - Thats due to the nature of lithium ion batteries, the 5530 doesn't behave any differently to the 5800.
Phone turns of when receiving a call - Never had that issue in v11 or v20, could be caused by your sim card.
Light that flashes even after you've read the message - Bug in v11, fixed in v20.
Lines appearing across screen - Not had this issue, sounds similar to the 5800's faulty screen issue.
Lock ups - Had a couple of those on v11, not one since updating to v20 on Monday.
Reboots - Same answer as above, again can also be caused by the sim or even installed software/themes.
Thats all based on my personal experience with the 5530xm.

I received an Acrobat Pro update notification and started the update process. Update failed and the message said it needed to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat Pro.
I followed Adobe’s advice. But I have not been able to get Acrobat Pro to finish installing on my MacPro (desktop) runs on OSX 10.9.5. I have read lots of help files, and group discussions. I have tried all sorts of things including uninstalling various ways and reinstalling various ways. I tried other utilities to scrub residual Adobe files. I've tried installing as root user, in safe mode, etc.
My Acrobat Pro is part for the CS6 suite. It is an original CS6 install disk (not a download). Other parts of CS6 suite are working fine. Along the way I've rebuilt permissions and done various disk maintenance several times. I even had to restore from Time Machine once.
Throughout all of this, about the same thing always happens. The CS installer runs fine for everything up to the last stage of installation for Acrobat. When the installer finishes, it says Acrobat install failed. The latest error log is below.
My Acrobat Pro was able to update until 11.0.09 Pro update on 9/11/14. Before the latest update and Acrobat actually runs, and works fine. The main indicator that something isn't right is that when I try to update it, the update (also seems to run OK until about the end but then) says it can't update Acrobat because something has been changed. The other CS applications run and update fine.
I lost the Acrobat Pro Since I uninstalled and have not been able to reinstall back to my CS6 suite. I'm tired of trying things without knowing what I'm trying to fix. It's clear that this type of problem is pretty widespread with Adobe Acrobat. So, does anyone really understand what the problem with their installer is??

It is very easy to leave applications running in the background, if you go to Menu check whether any applications have a "c" above the icon.
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0 -
RM-505 running v11.0.021
After updating to ver 11.0 i'm still facing problems ,espically when you attend a call, the unlock option will freeze & the screen wont respond, like the phone hung it self.
kindly adviceYes even I have been facing this issue. I use the lock feature and after a couple of calls the phone hangs after i disconnect from a call. I had to reboot the phone.
Fortunately I have found the reason for this. The applications actually do not close when you close them. They would also not appear in 'show open apps' menu. They still eat up the RAM. You need to close/kill them using SystemStatus. After closing all the apps the available memory reaches ~43MB as against ~12MB before.
You need to do this multiple times a day based on your usage. I do it 3-4 times. I have been using this for the past week without any issues.
Hope this helps. -
Just prompted by Adobe that an upgrade to Adobe Flash Player is available – within the bullets say includes security enhancements.
Two weeks ago I was made aware that there were security vulnerabilities with Flash. My laptop was infected (3/26). One of the recommendations from my anti-virus software company was to keep all Adobe products updated, especially Flash. Also, I was given the recommendation to consider choosing a less common browser than IE; he used Google Chrome which has its own security features. I had used Chrome once before when it was beta but downloaded the new Chrome, set security settings and testing it out. A few days later, someone I know also in the IS community said their company (a large international company) is uninstalling all Adobe products from all of their employee computers completely.
In reading the Developer Release Notes, this upgrade is for v11.2.202.228.
The Adobe Flash website section detects I have v11.2.202.229 installed. The latest version listed underneath was .228. I questioned how I could have a newer, higher number, version if .228 is the latest release? This was odd, needed an answer and to verify I was current.
In reading the Security Bulletin, it says… “These priority 2 updates address critical vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.63 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris, and Adobe Flash Player 11.1.111.7 and earlier versions for Android 3.x and 2.x. These vulnerabilities could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system… … …Adobe recommends users of Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.63 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and Linux update to Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.228 … … ...can install the update via the update mechanism within the product when prompted. Google Chrome will be updated automatically, so no user action is required. Google Chrome users can verify that they have updated to Google Chrome version 18.0.1025.151, which includes Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.229.”
This answered my question. I am current…and then I found an Adobe forum thread asking if 11.2.202.229 files installed in the correct place. I am deducing from the bulletin that the v.229 is designed with content or files specific for Google Chrome. And I am also deducing I was prompted that a new update is available because Flash Auto Update is looking for any version other than or is “not v.228” and not looking for “both v.228 AND v.229 files” on one’s computer? Concluding that I should ignore this prompt, check “do not remind me about this update” now and in the future if using Chrome [but I would still always need to verify Flash has been updated on my computer or verify I have the latest version of Google Chrome, before ignoring]? And if I do choose not to continue using Google Chrome (uninstall), I should then resume with manual updates. Please provide feedback.
If true, my recommendation to Adobe would be to design the Flash Auto Update to search for *all* versions related to the latest release to avoid a false prompt from appearing and/or *also include within the text of the standard Auto-update prompt’s window the same verbiage as within the Security Bulletin (which is not normally read by users) regarding Google Chrome, directing that no user action is required. It may or may not be harmful for someone to proceed with installing v.228 when they already have v.229… meanting it may not delete or replace any important files specific to Google Chrome and protecting against security vulnerability as it might be that .229 may only have a few additional files. *Another recommendation would be that both the .228 and .229 v for Google Chrome be listed as the latest release on Adobe Flash website page and release content. This may have been a timing issue. Google/Adobe might want to re-consider the timing/order in which they deploy their versions or re-consider the auto-update feature within Google Chrome all in itself to avoid confusion, avoid the need to then verify it anyway afterwards (an added step in itself) and avoid Google Chrome users that are completely unaware of this and what action to take, from updating to a different incompatible version that could possibly conflict with the requirements of Google Chrome or its security. However, everything would be resolved by the first recommendation. I did wonder why I just got prompted today for a release on March 28th, but luckily it looks like I have the latest version. And I did find it interesting how I noticed underneath the install for Adobe AIR that you may have to disable your anti-virus before installing.
I look forward to your feedback to my question confirming whether or not I should just to ignore this update. In effort to prevent PCs from future attacks, I provided my feedback and recommendations. Thank you.Hi thanks, I have Vista 64 bit. Both of these directories or folders exist. Here are the files they contain.

Chrome was installed after 3/26. I am guessing these are for Active X for IE and they don’t look like the latest version. As I mentioned, when I checked with Adobe to see what version is running on my system it only displays the latest version for Google Chrome which is a current one. So one (a user) wouldn’t know of the other versions that need to be updated. You are correct that I thought there was only one version on my system. Thanks for informing me, I didn’t even search or think of that. If I forcefully download the update anyway, will it update both of these directories?
Also when you say, “Manually downloading or updating Flash Player from Adobe will not affect Chrome's installation of Flash Player.” I realize moving forward it wouldn’t affect future Chrome installs but did you also mean downloading .228 when I have .229 will not affect this currently the installed version?..…if built-in, does Google Chrome store any files on my system or is it completely built-in? -
Reader v11 Update fails on Windows Vista (entire network) with error 1310
Tried to run the Reader v11 updater after installing v11. It fails comsistently with error 1310, although the file in the error message is different each time. The file is usually, but not always, in the folder config.msi.
We had this problem in the Reader v10 updaters as well, however we traced it to a race condition in file handling. We could get it to install by running other programs concurently or disabling anti-virus, to alter the timing of the install. Usually it took 3 to 6 attempts for it to complete successfully.
With the v11 updater, no amount of iterations will get it to install. We've tried upwards of 20 times. We've also tried re-installing v11 and then applying the update over a fresh copy. That does not work either. The usual tricks that worked with v10 also do not work with v11.
This problem could be solved easily if the updater would prompt the user for a retry on error, instead of automatically rolling back. For the main installer, the user is prompted to retry, but not for the updater. We run plenty of installers in the school without problems, but the Reader updates are always difficult.
We have wasted dozens of hours on this in our school. We are supposed to keep the Reader patched to avoid the significant vulnerabilities it introduces, but we cannot get the updater to run. If anyone else has solved this problem please let us know.Lorraine, I posted a question in the Adobe Reader forums about the
problems we have with the updaters. I got back this response, they
are blaming it on other software and the Windows Installer. I think
that can't be true, we install all kinds of stuff without problems.
So I think the truth is they've done a crappy job on their updaters.
The latest update is for an extremely serious vulnerability, it's
active in the wild and has made the national news. So if we can't
install the update, then I think we have to move away from Adobe
altogether, to another reader.
Can you think of any reason not to do this? -
How to get .msi from Reader .exe v11.0.01 for domain update
Wondering how to get the .msi file that I need to patch the domain workstations using Windows Group Policy. The only file Adobe provides is an .exe file for the latest update. v11.0.01
As an alternative to what Baigley has suggested, you can use the 11.0.00 MSI as released by Adobe and patch it using the latest 11.0.01 patch to create a GPO package to be deployed across your network as below.
1. Download the 11.0.00 MSI from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi
2. Download the 11.0.01 MSP from http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.01/misc/AdbeRdrUpd11001.msp
3. Create an AIP using the MSI downloaded in step 1 above by the following command:
msiexec /a <path to MSI downloaded>
In the subsequent dialogs provide a location wherein to create the AIP (for instance C:\AIP)
4. Once the AIP is created, patch it with the latest 11.0.01 installer by the below command.
msiexec /a C:\AIP\AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi /p <path to MSP downloaded in Step 2>
This will create the GPO Package for 11.0.01 Reader, ready to be deployed in your network.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

"No pages updated" error message with v11.1.2.1.x SmartView
All,
One of our users with v11.1.2.1.00 (build 271) of SmartView has a workbook with a number of worksheets set up to retrieve from a v9.3.x HFM application.
Upon connecting his workbook (note that the workbook in question has some external links which I chose NOT to update\refresh) to the v9.x HFM application in MS Excel 2003 SP3, the user selects Smart View > Data > Refresh All Worksheets and a error dialog box with the "No pages updated" message gets displayed. Upon clicking on the [OK] button on the error dialog box in question, SmartView still cycles through all worksheets in the workbook and refreshes them one at a time without any further error\warning\other messages.
In an attempt to narrow down what worksheet(s) cause(s) this error message, I have tried to refresh each worksheet individually (ie, cycling through each worksheet and selecting Smart View > Refresh against each of them) and they all worked fine.
As this message is appearing in an error dialog box, the user is reluctant to have his PC upgraded to v11.1.2.1.00 (Build 271) SmartView on the basis that there must be something wrong with the add-in, etc.
I have searched the Oracle KB and the SmartView forum for this error message but in vain.
I was wondering if anyone had encountered this error message and whether they had the opportunity to resolve it and how.
Thanks in advance,
JBMTry pressing the "esc" key when you get the error message.
If that doesn't work try trashing the preferences like this:-

Is this the first time you have tried to open FCE or has it worked OK in the past?
