GBAND 10.0.2 FREEZE FILES FOLDER ?

Using Gband 10.0.2 and after locking a track for exporting to my dropbox, I can't find the
"Freeze Files" folder.
Any ideas on how to trace the folder please.?
I've tried looking via the Finder bit the folder does not show up.

The time is not the limit - Garageband has a maximum number of measures - 1999 measures.

So, it will depend in the tempo, if you can go beyond 90 minutes. If you set the tempo to 40 bpm, youcan record more than 3 hours.

You cannot do that without changing certain permissions on the files. You can remove write permissions on the files, but then you wouldn't be able to make any changes to them, if you needed to, without restoring write permissions.
Perhaps if you tell us why you've asked about this we could offer some additional ideas, if any.

Ibook freeze, flashing file folder

My brother sold me his hardly used iBook g4 in December. The day I received it (parents flew it out to me, carried it on the plane), it froze within 30 min or so of it being on. When I tried to restart it, I got the grayish screen with the file folder icon and flashing question mark.
For several weeks, it did pretty much the same thing: would work for 20-80 min, then freeze, and would give me the gray screen upon restart. After sitting overnight, it would start up just fine and repeat the cycle. After a couple weeks of doing such, it stopped doing anything but giving me the gray screen upon turning it on.
From everything I've read, it seems like I probably need a new hard drive for it. The good news is, I have absolutely nothing on the harddrive, since I never got to use it much, so I won't lose anything. Am I better off taking it to an Apple service provider (which will be a difficult 2+ hour drive) or can I purchase a harddrive and have my IT people install it?

Using the recovered files folder in the Trash for Flash CS5 files

I'm creating a complex animation (hand drawing every two frames on a Cintiq) in Flash CS5 and, despite saving, lost the day's work upon my Mac freezing - over 300 drawings, just gone. The recovered files folder contains /tmp and .dat files, and I've found no guidance online as what to do with these. Please help!

Those files in the recovered files folder happen when an APP crashes with unwritten data/files.
It's not very likely those tmp or dat files will be of any use, but if critical get HexEdit and open those files for a look...

Freeze Files and Memory

Is there a way to auto delete freeze files when you save a project. I mean sure you'll have to refreeze them when you load again but, I've got all these projects with freeze files just eating up my disk space.

i had the same problem for a long time until i slapped myself on the forhead and figured out that i should be bouncing tracks instead of freezing all of them. i arrange all my instruments into one folder. drums/percussion get a folder, etc....i have a powerbook with 2g RAM and i am working with 25 tracks per song. i kept clipping on my memory capacity, even with freezing all the tracks. so, i started bouncing maybe 2 or 3 tracks instead of 10+ tracks. then i would have the room to work on the drums/percussion while i solo the instruments bounced track.
when you look at your file sizes, you'll get them down below 500mb vs several gig with too many frozen files.

Designating the location of Freeze Files

I'd like to be able to have all freeze files for ALL projects save to one single folder. That way I could restrict that folder from Time Machine backups.
It would be easier to do this rather than manually restricting each freeze folder every time I create a new project.

File folder w/ question mark

Hello all-
Im new to the board and fairly new to macs. I was just wondering if anyone could help me figure out why when im trying to install leopard 10.5 my computer freezes. Now when I turn it on it has the flashing file folder with a ?. I put in my leopard disk and restarted holding down the opions key and a lock pops up and wants you to type a password, so I type my password in and then it has a picture of a cd and a little arrow under it and says install os x 10.5 when I click the arrow the pointer freezes and the computer does nothing. Everytime I turn it on now it goes to the file folder with question mark. Any help would be great. I really need my mac back up and running.

Exactly which MBP do you have? And which Leopard install disc? Is it one of the original gray system discs that came with your Mac, or something else? Do you have the original gray system disc? Can you boot from it?
I'm thinking there may be some incompatibility with the disc and the Mac. If, for example, your Mac originally shipped with Snow Leopard, then you won't be able to install Leopard because it is an older operating system. If you could give more information about your Mac and the Leopard disc, it would help us to see what the problem might be and what needs to be done to resolve it.

Grey screen with file folder with face/flashing ?. Help

Fri. I did a reinstall and save previous system, because of grey screen on start up and then IMAC freezing after being on energy save for more than 20 mins. I thought I had things fixed but today when I turned the machine on I got the grey screen with a small file folder in the middle of the screen. It has a face which is replaced with a flashing question mark and then back to the face. I would click on it but I have no way to select it.
I finally got it started with the install disc 1. I have no idea of what to do next.

1. Start up from a system CD/DVD, and repair your disk using Disk Utility:
a. Insert the Mac OS X Install or Restore disc.
b. Restart the computer, then hold the C key during startup.

You need to use the computer's install disks to repair the hard drive or install a new OS.

My iTunes library is on an old computer. Not enough memory to consolidate the associated MP3 files. Transferred library to new computer. How can I add the MP3's without having to re load every file / folder again? Thanks.

Hello, I'm trying to transfer my iTunes library from an old computer with small hard drive to a new windows 8 laptop. Much of my library consists of links to MP3/ 4 files etc but there isn't enough harddrive memory to consolidate the files into iTunes music folder. I downloaded the library onto an external hardrive and have installed it on the new computer. All files that were in iTunes music (now iTunes Media file) work fine. I have transferred over all my MP3 files but of course iTunes library wont play the file as there is no established link to the file and it asks whether iTunes should locate the file. I don't want to have to import every MP3 file/ folder all over again and then delete the unlinked entries in iTunes as this will take way too much time. Is there a way to sync all of these MP3 files to iTunes automatically or do I need to go back to start and somehow try and put the library back onto the hard drive and get the files consolidated to that from my old computer? Any help most gratefully recieved. Thanks.

The files that weren't inside the media folder on the original machine need to be copied over to exactly the same paths as they had on the source machine. See this thread for an ongoing discussion of a similar problem. See also this post on migrating the iTunes library.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

As I understand it Robo doesn't really 'do' third-party
source control. We use SourceGear Vault, but really only as a
repository for the files. We can't really work concurrently because
Robo needs exclusive access to the top level project files. But it
kind of works for us, because we're on opposite sides of the globe.
I see what you're saying on the 'local' versions of (say) the
cpd files conflicting. If anyone else has an informed view, I'm all
ears. We've set it up this way ourselves - I don't know of anyone
doing the same. If someone tells me this is a bad idea, I'm happy
to think again.

Accessing File/Folder icons for current Look and Feel

Hi,
I'm looking to get the Icon for files and folders that the current UIManager uses for some work I'm doing. Please could you help.
I'm getting strange results from the method I'm using, which is to create a temporary file and do: Icon i = FileSystemView.getFileSystemView().getSystemIcon(tempFile);
I don't like the idea of having to create a temporary file to do this - isn't there another way to do it? - for instance asking "get default file icon"/"get default folder icon".
I could download a jpg image of the file/folder icons, but this is static - and I want my method to get the icons used for the current look and feel I'm using.
There must be a simple way to do this right? I mean, java uses a method to get the icons for the current look and feel.. Oh.. Please help!

How can I save a website as a favorite place under more than one file folder? I think I used to have this ability, now it'll only save it in one place.

What this does for me is allow me to find rarely accessed websites by looking under different kinds of categories of favorite places. If I'm restricted to only one location for the data it makes it harder to find.

In the past, if I created a new file folder and saved a webpage to the new folder, it would persist even after I saved it a 2nd time to a different folder. Now, if I save it to a 2nd folder, it will disappear from the 1st folder.

You can do a Copy & Paste in the Bookmarks Manager (Shift+Ctrl+B) to create a copy of a bookmark.<br />
You can also drag the website's favicon on the left end of the location bar to a folder into the Bookmarks menu drop down list or to a folder in the Bookmarks side bar (Ctrl+B) or onto the Bookmarks Toolbar.<br />
In the side bar you need to click to the left of the icon to prevent Firefox from opening the bookmark.

How can I get Full PDF file in temporary Internet Files folder when a PDF is opened in IE?

when a URL displaying a PDF file(http://www.google.com/Test.pdf) in internet explorer is done, the PDF file is opened in Microsoft internet explorer itself. But I observe one thing. i.e., If the PDF file is created with acrobat distiller the the PDF file opened on IE is fully obtained in Temporary Internet files, and if the PDF file is created with other than acrobat distiller(i.e., created using other PDF tools), then if the same file, then only a part of PDF(10KB-50KB) is obtained in Temporary internet files folder, and remaining is obtained by Acrxxxx.tmp in C:\Documents and Settings\Current UserName\Local Settings\temp folder. why this is happening?

Yes, I was seeing the difference between PDFs that are linearized. I had unchecked that option, still I can't get the Full PDF in temporary Internet files folder.
Are there any more settings to be changed.
