No. You have to enable that as well. You used the registry but it is easier just to update your ADMX files and GPMC and use GPO. There is a second setting to enable users to manually use F12.
Anyone figure out yet how to force the alternate reality? I thought there was a way to implement IE 11 and default to IE 8 Emulation Mode where you have 1000 sites that are IE 8 and pending update but only 3 sites that need IE 11. I really don't
want to have to identify 1000 websites, interview everyone, figure out what sites were IE7 but in IE 8 use compatibility mode when IE 8 emulation mode works for both. I have the latest updates, the latest site configuration. I've been looking at
XML itself, for some type of tag to force IE 8 but by default you have to add the exclusion and it then shows up as IE 8 mode. Is there no possible way to make it emulate IE 8 Mode and the exemption process be IE 11 when 98% of the websites internal
have no lifecycle process?
I think I've read every post and blog at this point. I'm hoping anyone can provide an answer.
Maybe I'm the only one but if you have 2000 websites and no developers update their code then you are forced to implement IE 11 across Citrix and Workstation then you own the problem.
Has no one addressed this? What do you do when 2000 sites use IE 8 and 4 use IE 11. You must upgrade to IE 11 and add the 2000 sites manually? Honestly?
I cannot find anything stating to do this or set this in the sites.xml file to force IE 8 by default and create exemptions for IE 11.
If you even try to google the iesitesxml.xsd file all you get is a bunch of virus warnings.
I've read over 100 links, blogs, forums, and cannot understand how this has never come up.

• Amplitude Array with niFgen Frequency List Mode

I was wondering if there was a way to easily set a different amplitude for each frequency in a Frequency List? Ideally I would want this to be in an array.
When using Frequency List Mode, you can define the frequencies and durations in an array using the Create Frequency List VI:
However the Configure Frequency List VI only allows you to specify a single value for the amplitude:
The only approach I can think of is using Property Nodes, however that seems like it will be an exact solution. Trying to increase the amplitude (or gain) "on-the-fly" seems to cause discontinuities and has some delay before taking effect.
I am looking for something similar to this example, except with another column for unique amplitudes for each segment of the list:
Does anyone know how I might go about this? Any approaches/ideas will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

If someone helped you out, please select their post as the solution and/or give them Kudos!

Hello,
With the Frequency List mode, you are limited to outputting varying frequencies of a standard function at a certain amplitude. To do what you're describing you would want to use either Arbitrary Waveform or Arbitrary Sequence mode with a capable card instead. A good example of doing this on the fly with Arbitrary Waveform can be found here: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-8391.

• Enterprise mode site list manager and document mode

Hello,
I'm just wondering, if I select IE5 doc mode in enterprise mode site list manager, will I have doc mode IE5 running on IE8 high fidelity emulation (enterprise mode) or IE 5 doc mode running on IE11 ?
Regards,
Michel

Hi Michel,
It should be IE 5 document mode on IE 11.
As you could see from the enterprise mode site list manager, the listed choice is:
If you select Enterprise Mode, it should be IE8 high fidelity emulation only, the manager won't let you choose the document mode under enterprise mode.

• Enterprise Mode site list and manual override

I have a small question / issue when using Enterprise Mode.
We have enabled it using GPO by specifying both a site list and the Enable settings for manual override. This works fine but I don't know how to reset the manual override if somebody flicks the EM mode for a specific site.
I just want to tell IE to forget all manual overrides and apply the sitelist as delivered.
I tried to look in the registry, in the %AppData% fodler, even cleared the IE cache but IE still remembers the user overrides.
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks, Nic.

Hi Nic,
As the official documents said, this registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\EnterpriseMode] “Enable” = “” | {URL:port} can also be used to collect manual overrides. By configuring the “Enable” key with a
valid URL and port, Internet Explorer will initiate a simple POST to the supplied address whenever a user enables or disables Enterprise Mode. This effectively helps customers crowd-source lists of compatible Web apps from their own users, which may decrease
triage and testing costs.
Approximately 65 seconds after Internet Explorer 11 starts, it looks for a properly formatted site list. If a new site list is found, with a different version number than the active list, Internet Explorer 11 loads and uses the newer version.
This is designed by default, and we cannot reset the by preventing the changes.
We may try to logon script to re-deploy the original site list to reset the site list settings.

• Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 - Safe mode not listed in Advanced boot options

HI all,
After a bad driver installation, the server got the blue screen issue.
I tried to access the safe mode and make a restore, but unfortunately the safe mode is not listed in the advanced boot options.
The only options available pressing F8 at boot are :
Repair
Normal mode
Am I missing something ?
Is there a way to launch the safe mode from the console (accessible from repair mode) ?
Is there a way to restore from the console ?
Thanks for your help, for now I am really stucked...

Hi again
Problem solved, I document the solution for others :
open a console from repair mode
search the real system drive, instead of the X: default of the console
inn my case D:
cd Windows/system32
SystemHardwareProperties
Advanced options
start and recovery
tick the 'show os list' with 30 sec timer
close and reboot
when the system list appears, press F8 on wanted os

• How to get Duotone Mode Ink List Names?

Hi All,
I need to get the list of Ink Names in the duotone mode of the document
Using the Java Script / Windows / Photoshop CS3
(Example: PMS 185, PMS 230....)
Please give suggestion......
Regards
William

How big are your eps files? Where are they located?
The script should not take long unless your system's disk I/O is slow - such as a slow network server.
On my system reading a 18mb Photoshop EPS file with a 8bit preview on a local drive takes less than a second to display the inks used.
At any rate I don't know if there is another way to find the inks using Photoshop. That info does not seem to be part of the Document's descriptor. If the duotones where created in Photoshop the inks are also in the Photoshop resource section of the file. It might be possible to write a script to parse that section so the script could work with psd as well as eps duotones but I don't think it would be any faster.

• IE 11 Enterprise Mode Sites List - Must Force IE 8 Emulation to Default or Disaster

I've gone through about 100 postings thus far and not sure what I'm missing.
I have a scenario where 98% of the sites internal are IE8 compatible and in some cases IE7. I was hoping their was an option to default IE 11 to IE 8 Emulation mode but I cannot get it working. I'm having to add each site manually and set it
to IE 8 mode when in fact I have 1000 sites that are IE 8 and 3 that need IE 11. There is no common domain suffix.
Am I just missing something simple? I have the latest Site Configuration Tool, I've edited manually but by default if you add nothing it defaults to Edge Mode or IE 11. I have to add the site manually as an exclude.
I've been reading up on XML, looking for a code solution or hack. All workstations and Citrix must be upgraded to IE 11 and Enterprise Mode is the only option.
Is there any possible way to force IE 11 to emulate IE 8 mode by default. Something I can set in the XML file that reverses the default. So, in other words I don't want to add 1000 sites of IE 8 mode but 3 to use IE 11.
I just cannot wrap my head around there not being this option.
Example: The two sites below run in IE 8 mode. I want everything to run in IE 8 mode and not have to add but only add for any other exclusion. Otherwise, this is going to be a disaster of a project.
<rules version="2">
<emie>
<domain exclude="false">www.thewindowsclub.com</domain>
<domain exclude="false">www.howtogeek.com</domain>
</emie>
</rules>

Hi Brian,
Perhaps I have misunderstood you.....
you should be only adding intranet or trusted sites domains to the EM List. The rendering/compatibility of public websites is maintained by developers or they have asked MS to put their sites into compatibility mode until they have updated their websites
to not use modern techniques...
for internet domains
the site may already be in the MSCVL (MS Compatibility View List)... Tools>Compatibility View Lists, check "Include updated website lists from MS".
If you see an internet site that does not render correctly in the edge mode of the browser consumers can report it to MS from the Tools>Report Problem Websites.
If you are using EM for internet zone sites (publicly accessible), then you are using it for the wrong purpose....(or you have not checked "Include updated website lists from MS".)
for intranet and trusted sites domains, ie. where on corporate networks you want a business partners domain (eg. Bloomberg.com) to be able to link to or host content from your intranet domain. eg. you may have a portfolio management system (web based)
that uses Bloomberg data feeds or content from one of their services, like asset valuation)....
The system administrators are bound to have a listing of their intranet assets which you can either import or manually add to the EMList (or using the EMList Manager).

• Single user mode: Argument List is too long, PLEASE HELP

Hey guys,
I recently posted a topic asking if any1 knew how to delete all png files on the desktop,
Nt many people replied,
But anyway, I did some research and now I know how to do it,
but in single user mode (cmd + S),
When I typed in rm *.png
While I ws on the desktop in single user mode,
It came up saying Argument list too long,
Does any1 know how to fix this,
Plz reply ASAP,
& if possible addme on Skype mark.davidson19, it wld b extremely helpful

If there are too many files expanded via the *.png wildcard, then the argument list length maximum can be exceeded. The last time I checked, Mac OS X had a 256K line length limitation. (AIX was 1M, Linux 128K, Solaris 1M, Windows 8K (Cygwin env) - your mileage may vary with each operating system release).
If you have too many files to expand on the command line, then you can delete them in batches. There are several ways to do this
cd ~/Desktop
rm [a-m]*.png
rm [n-z]*.png
rm [A-M]*.png
rm [N-Z]*.png
Or finer increments.
You could use something like
find ~/Desktop '*.png' -print0 -depth 1 | xargs -0 rm
And you can also use
find ~/Desktop '*.png' -depth 1 -delete
This being a Unix environment, there are most likely a dozen additional ways to delete all the .png files and avoid command line length limits.
As MrHoffman says, using rm and wildcards is a very dangerous thing to do unless you really REALLY know what you are doing. If not, I strongly suggest having a recent full backup handy. I actually suggest a backup regardless of how good you are in the Unix environment (I have multiple via different backup utilities preformed on a very regular basis; years of experience has taught me you cannot be too careful with your data - it is worth far more than the cost of backup equipment).

• Cmoprehensive default Safe Mode service list (also driver and start-up info would be useful)?

When my PC starts in Safe Mode, "connect to a network" works. When I start in Standard Mode, it only sometimes works (usually it does not). This results in multiple restarts per each use of the PC.
What might be different between Safe Mode and Standard Mode such that "connect to a network" works? If you know, please help with that; otherwise, can we sniff it out by getting a comprehensive services listing and going through that into Standard
Mode one step at a time....

Hi,
Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don't run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7
Since this issue is gone in this mode, so some drivers or programs (might be installed recently, cause a bad effect) cause the issue, we can use elimination for troubleshooting.
Or we can return PC to a previous point at which your PC is functioning fine (but you will lose some recent configuration)

• ADF Faces w/ADF BC: Bug(?) w/null values in drop down list in find mode

Using JDev 10.1.3.0.4.
I have a page that shows a single record. The user can toggle between regular and Find mode to enter query by example criteria.
One of the fields has been bound to a dynamic list. The "No Selection" Item in the List Binding Editor is set to "Selection Required".
When editing a record, this list does not have an empty item. When the user enters find mode, the list has an empty item in the list - which makes sense since the user might not want to search on a value in that particular field.
However, if the user enters find mode, selects an item from the list, executes the query (Execute action), and enters find mode again then the empty item no longer shows up in the list. Is this a bug?
(Note - there is an easy workaround - if you delete and create in find mode, then the new critieria record has the list fixed with an empty item in it.)

• Sweep frequency with NI 5673E

Hello! I'm want use NI 5673E generator. In the examples I found the "frequency sweep" example for 5673E.
My question is: what is the maximum speed of the generator can sweep. How to estimate time the frequency sweep program? For example, I have the frequency range from 2 GHz to 3 GHz, step 1 MHz. How long will it take? How much is the shortest time it can
sweep the frequency with step = 1 MHz, 0.1MHz? Milliseconds, microseconds can nanosecond?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Hello,
Using RF List Mode on your PXIe-5673E will be the most efficient approach for your sweeping application. The smallest step time you can get is 5 us on this hardware. However, the speed at which you sweep should be a factor of your specific requirements, such as frequency and power accuracy (more tuning time needed for better performance). Larger step sizes will require more tuning time for equivalent performance. It is also worth noting that the maximum amount of steps (limited by onboard memory) in List Mode is 250. This means that you'd need to reconfigure your sweep after 250 MHz (1 MHz/step * 250 steps) in software. At that point, your total sweep time will be a function of your computer performance.
I would recommend you take a look at the PXIe-5673E's specifications starting on page 5 to read about tuning times. Also, here is a link to the deprecated documentation we have online for RF List Mode:
