Gcc 3.3.2 problem:  libgcc_s.so.1 not found

I am trying to compile a perl module (Math::GMP) on a Solaris 8 platform. We have gcc 3.3.2 installed, and everything appears to go well until I try the following:
% ldd blib/arch/auto/Math/GMP/GMP.so
    libgmp.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libgmp.so.3
    libc.so.1 => /usr/lib/libc.so.1
    libgcc_s.so.1 => (file not found)
    libdl.so.1 => /usr/lib/libdl.so.1
    /usr/platform/SUNW,Ultra-5_10/lib/libc_psr.so.1
I have confirmed that /usr/local/lib/libgcc_s.so.1 exists, so I don't understand what is wrong. Any clues?

It isn't entierly clear if the libgcc_s.so.1 dependancy comes directly from "GMP.so" or indirectly from
"libgmp.so.3".
You can check that with the dump command, looking at the recorded "SONAME" dependencies:
dump -Lv blib/arch/auto/Math/GMP/GMP.so
and
dump -Lv /usr/local/lib/libgmp.so.3
While your looking at the output from "dump", have a look at the recorded runtime shared library path, too.
(the "RUNPATH" or "RPATH" entries). Apparently one of "GMP.so" or "libgmp.so.3" depends on libgcc_s.so.1
but does not have it's runtime shared library path set to include "/usr/local/lib".
The fix is to link the bad shared library with the option "-R /usr/local/lib" (assuming your gcc is configured to
use the Sun linker).

    Netscape/Firefox Flash Plugin from "adobe.com".
    I only use Chrome and Internet Explorer, I haveinstalled Safari and Firefox.
    What to do?

    Unfortunately Flash is installed in different ways on different browsers.  I have the whole CS suite, so it might be possible there is no Flash player installer in the basic DW installation.  What you need to do is as DW is telling you and download the Flash Player to install.  IE uses ActiveX to install Flash and Chrome has it's own and Google updates the Flash player with its browser which may not directly correspond to the Adobe updates.
    If you go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ in IE click on the "Different Operating System or Browser?" link at the top.  Click on your operating system which I will assume is Windows because the Mac only has one installer and you don't strike me as a Linux or Solaris user.  Then select "Flash Player 10.3 For Windows - Other Browsers".  Run the installer and you will be good to go.

    '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
    If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
    *In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click Help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
    *In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on ''Help'' (or click on ''Help'' in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
    If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
    When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

    '''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.
    ''To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''

  • Problem with kfmclient (command not found)

    Today, I tried to run the CUPS web configuration tool, but it failed to run (ie. open the page in Firefox).  I executed the command in the terminal to check for errors, and it said "kfmclient: command not found".
    When I checked pacman for kfmclient, no such package exists.  How do I install kfmclient?

    Just an additional information,
    for 'command not found' problems, pkgtools in community should be helpful. It also have a bash hook to find the package automatically on that error.

  • RS480M2-IL - problems with "PS2 Mouse not found"

    Hello!
    I bought RS480M2-IL motherboard. The first strange thing was the post about "not know processor", but i have fixed by upgrading it to the 1.4 version. You should to know also that I have USB mouse. When I am starting my computer I can see the post which says: "PS2 Mouse not found". It is a very big problem for me, because I wanted to run a Jabber server on it. After restart it won't get up. Is there any clue or something which will fix it? Don't tell me, that I must wait for new BIOS version.
    Thanks for help  :azn:
    Regards.
    kapsel03

    RS480M-IL = s754
    RS480M2-IL = s939
    I assume you have the s754 version because s939 bioses start with 3.x.
    I have the same problem using bios 1.4.
    This is a bios issue that hopefully will be fixed in the next bios version.
    I found a temporary workaround though. Go into the bios --> Standard CMOS Features --> Halt On --> [No Errors].

  • Problem - Scanner.java file not found

    Hello all, I've been having a problem with a Java installation on windows vista. I've installed both the Java 2 1.4.2_16 sdk, and the Java EE 5 update 3 sdk. However, neither install contains the Scanner.java file... On my desktop running XP, this is not the case. I've tried reinstalling but to no avail. My classpath is set correctly because my programs compile that import java.util.*; But when I create a scanner object I get the dreaded can't resolve symbol error, but only when I compile under vista... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

    Scanner was implemented beginning with v1.5x, and comes in the JDK SE, not the EE.

  • Mkinitcpio problem when booting (plymouth not found) [SOLVED]

    I installed Arch very recently, but I'm having a bit of a problem with mkinitcpio. I cannot fully boot into my system.
    It's looking for Plymouth. I looked up Plymouth on the wiki, and it appears to be a graphical splash screen manager. The thing is I don't have this package installed or in my hooks/modules in my mkinitcpio.conf file, so there's no reason why systemd should even be looking for it.
    So I've done some searching for this issue, but I haven't found any threads that could solve my problem. The issue is systemd keeps looking for a binary that I don't have or specified, so I'm wondering what's going on.
    Is this a bug?

    Edit: This has nothing to do with your question, but I noticed you have a /tmp partition.  Do yu actually need a persistent /tmp?  Or did you just do this because it is what you are used to doing?  Systemd includes a tmp.mount file that automatically puts it on a tmpfs.  I actually think it may even override what is in your fstab... though I have not tested this.  If you want to keep your persistent /tmp, you should disable tmp.mount or mask it as well.
    I don't know what you mean... because systemd shouldn't be looking for it. I'll scrounge around in my config files for systemctl/systemd and see if I can find anything.
    Yes, eventually I'm going to use dm-crypt+LUKS, so that the /tmp directory will be encrypted with random data (and possibly tmpfs). Since I wasn't comfortable trying to install Arch the first time, I wanted to make sure I would get it working with GRUB2, GPT and LVM first, so I'm going to do encryption after I get bootup working.
    Sorry to ask but how do I disable "tmp.mount"?
    I am new to systemd, but I've only gotten familiar with Debian's sysvinit.
    I just looked in the systemd page of the Wiki and didn't find anything.

  • Rookie Problem:Connection Pool Class not found

    Hi All,
    I'm new to java (3 days now!) and I was writing some sample JSP code to learn about Connection Pooling using Sun Server 8... My goal here is to hopefully learn how to use Connection pooling so I can develop a DAO class that uses good design patterens. It appears that that my J2EE server is not finding my db providers connection pooling class. If this is my problem where should I add this reference? I was looking at the Admin Console and did not see a way to add it there?
    Someone please send me down the right path :)
    I think my error is...."Wrong class name or classpath for Datasource Object : {0}

    Sorry this is not the way i usually handle db connectivity, i think you need to set up a name in your server.xml file (this is for tomcat based applicatin servers) which is then referenced in your jsp file. I have had a quick google and found this.

  • Quicklook problem: Info.plist exceptions not found

    Hi,
    I have a problem here which is driving me crazy - I did a clean re-install of Leopard last night (and immediately updated to 10.5.2 after the initial setup had finished).
    While re-installing the rest of my software and occasionally having a Terminal window open, I realized that the following message was popping up quite frequently, though in unregular intervals:
    Broadcast Message from [email protected]
    (no tty) at 21:37 CET...
    Feb 16 21:37:08 Mac /System/Library/Frameworks/QuickLook.framework/Resource
    s/quicklookd.app/Contents/MacOS/quicklookd[3596]: Unable to load Info.plist exc
    eptions
    Turning the audible bell off in Terminal preferences made the problem a bit less of a pain, but it's still quite annoying to watch those messages popping up.
    I have no idea where to look at, does anybody have a hint how to resolve this??
    Thanks in advance!

    Had this happen to me too. PowerPC, clean install, updated to latest.
    Fixed by copying the Exceptions.plist file from a working (updated) machine.
    The full path is /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchS ervices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Exceptions.plist

  • HELP! Package with orange, registration problem, setup wizard pages not found and email problems!

    I got my blackberry 2 days ago (I'd never had one in the past) and the sales advisor told me I would need the 'blackberry package' for £5 a month and being the fool that I am I agreed without asking for more information on what it included etc. I can get on the internet using my home wifi or any other free wifi connection I happen upon, but cannot use applications such as Facebook for Blackberry without being confronted with a message claiming 'You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. Please contact your service provider for additional information or to upgrade your current service plan.' I had thought that the package I had been given would be for this, does anyone know how long it should take before the package is activated?
    Also, when visiting www.blackberry.orange.co.uk and asked to give my PIN and IMEI it claims that it is currently registered with a different service provider. Has anyone else found this or know a way to fix it?
    Actually, while I'm here, when running the setup wizard a lot of the pages come up with HTTP ERROR, PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND and when attempting to set up my email I only have the options to 'i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server' or 'i want to skip email setup'. How would I set up a hotmail email account?

    the blackberry package is a good thing. the problem is that is seems you have had problems creating your BIS Account. Call Orange UK hotline and explain your issue. It's their job to make everything work. especially since you are a new customer.

  • [wrt350n v2] FTP storage filename problems (results in file not found error)

    When a file is copied to the USB storage drive which contains high range Latin1 characters (e.g. ë or ü) that file is correctly listed but it can not be downloaded, renamed or deleted.
    The client receives a 451 error: File does not exist.
    I was hoping anyone had a solution for this, other than connecting the drive to my PC.

    Should I download other files from the web moreover the daq setup?
    thanks

    They cab file you are missing is the LabVIEW support file. I assume when you installed NI-DAQ you asked to add support for LabVIEW 5.1 in French? You can download the cab file from:
