Gccfss421 garbled distribution?

There is a mismatch between what files the GCCFSS 4.2.1 page says you need for cross-compilation and what the downloads page offers. And after downloading the files I cannot compile; I get massive "File not found" errors.
Details ---
The info page says:
The needed tarballs are:
* SUNWgccfss421x GCC binaries
* SUNWscgfss421x SPARC code generator
* SUNWgccfss421_runtime SPARC runtime support
[See <http://cooltools.sunsource.net/gcc/4.2.1/install.html>]
The download page offers:
*SUNW0scgfss421x.tar.bz2  GCC For Sun System 4.2.1 x86
*SUNWgccfss421x.tar.bz2      Sun Code Generator
*SUNWgccfss421_runtime.tar.bz2  Runtime libraries
[See <https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_SMI-Site/en_US/-/USD/DownloadSingleSoftware-Start?ProductID=G5xIBe.p_lkAAAEdOW8TiZ2x&LICENSE-DZdIBe.pAnEAAAEd0RETjZ29=on&s_eVar4=cds&VVA_00000000005000077158=Solaris%20x86&VVA_00000000005000077157=English>]
What's happening here? Has anybody downloaded this and got it to work?

Yes, there is a mismatch between the names SUNWscgfss421x and SUNW0scgfss421x. One has a "0" in it. Does not make a difference. Download the two compiler parts.
I just downloaded the SUNWgccfss421x.tar.bz2 and SUNW0scgfss421x.tar.bz2. I unbziped and untared them. And the cross compiler ran fine.
The runtime libraries in SUNWgccfss421_runtime.tar.bz2 should be installed on your SPARC machine. It can also be installed on your x86 box if you want to do the linking on the x86. If so then put it with the other SPARC libraries that you also need. Remember this is not /usr/lib on your x86 box.
If you are still having this problem, would you post the result from a "uname -p" and "gcc -v <somefile>.c" so I can see what you are seeing.

  • MOB's, Packages, DoubleBuffering, & Distribution

    1. Moveable objects. Namely, animated gif files. I simply want them to move across the gui from point a to point b (to look as if they are 'moving'). Are there any links or better keywords to help me search for answers to this? Saw some references to double bufferring in regards to this too, but I don't know what that is either.
    2. Packages. Ok, I have a proggy w/lots of files and got it to work just fine. But to do so, I had to move the class w/the main method into a directory other than the directory where all the other class files were. Its like this:
    c:\mainDirectory\MainFile.java
    w/the rest in:
    c:\mainDirectory\Bin\*.java
All the ones in the Bin directory are of package Bin.
The main file has - import Bin.*
    The classpath includes c:\mainDirectory
This proggy will get only more complicated, because I want to use other directory names and other packages so as to keep everything nice and separated by subject matter. But my not knowing why the main program file won't work if its located in the Bin directory worries me, and I don't wanna paint myself into a corner is all.
    3) Distribution. Lets say I make a program (application). Jar it up. Now I want people to be able to download it and run it, fairly easily. So I'll just link to the latest SDK on my site, and once they have that they can just double click on the jar file to install it.
Not having done this before, my question is: what then? What does the user, now that the proggy is installed, do to run the program? I can't ask my user to set a classpath and run java filename. Will I need to make a separate sort of gimmick file for each operating system, a .bat for windows, or a shortcut, and whatever for linux, etc... or is there a platform independant way to make it so they can just click on something to get it to run?
4)I'm using 1.3, gonna get the 1.4 beta soon. I noticed in 1.3 a problem, at least on my system (win98SE). In windows w/scrollbars, upon scrolling, the text will get garbled until I click in the window. The one program I saw get around this was a JEdit plugin which adds mousewheel support to JEdit, and has an option to fix 'flickering' as it calls it, which happens to fix my problem.
So my question is: does 1.4 have this problem still? (my internet connection is woefully bad, so it's gonna be an all day thing to download it, which is why I haven't yet). I ask, because if so, it'll be worth my time to check out the open source JEdit plugin to see how they solved the problem, then do something similar in my gui's. But if not, then I can just get my users to download the 1.4 beta and they won't have the problem, and no additional code will be needed from me.
Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.

ok, I solved number 2, part of number one, and none of number 3.
#2. solved. the packages problem. when ya 'java filename' the main file, ya have to put the directory/package name of the file before the filename, so:
    java javaprojects.myproggy.filename
for some reason, I have to do this even if the directory is in the classpath and I don't have to do such w/the rest of the files in that directory.
#1. partially solved: moving objects problem. Found some info on how to 'double buffer'. Which they say gets rid of the flickering problem. But I still don't know how to make a graphic appear to 'move' across the screen.
#3 not solved at all. Distribution, still don't know how this works exactly.

  • PRO-E to Postscript to PDF garbles some data in Distiller 8.1.2

We are creating Postscript files from Pro-E then using Distiller to create PDF files for distribution. This worked beautifully in Version 3.0 up to 6.0 distiller releases. We recently upgraded to Acrobat Pro 8 and are using the Distiller to create the PDF from the PS file. Same PS file is garbled in 8.1.2 What am I doing wrong in Distiller 8.1.2? What job settings should we use, or modify to get the PDF to mirror the Postscript file? We check the PS file with Ghostscript viewer and it's fine. It's odd that it works in the older version, but we would expect it to be worth the upgrade so to speak. We do know that Pro-E does output to PDF in it's latest version but we are not there yet.$$ Any suggestions?

I tend to think that if a new user account works as expected then there is a permissions issue, though I guess it could be a permissions issue with a font. If you boot with the Startup CD you can probably fix the permissions in the original account. Although, I've seen a new user work and repairing all permissions fail before.
You can attempt to remove the fonts you believe may be damaged. if you don't know which fonts this might be, try removing all but the basic system fonts, then adding them back in chunks. There may be an easier way to do this nowadays. I haven't had to deal with this problem in many years.
I work with multiple partitions, keeping a partition named "Base" that has a minimal OS on it specifically for problems like this. I log into this and run Disk Utility whenever things start to go haywire. I keep my installed fonts to a minimum.

  • PAL or NTSC for international distribution?

Hi everybody, we have a 5 hrs film shot and edited in Premiere Pro CS6 in HD pal, 50fps, 16:9  intended for international distribution on 2 double layer DVDs. How should we best author it to guarantee worldwide compatibility and best possible quality? PAL or NTSC? There is no budget to press both, PAL and NTSC DVDs. Thanks for your help!!!

    NTSC every time.
All PAL players these days will happily output NTSC content either as true NTSC (by running an on-the-fly standards conversion in the video decoder chips) or else as PAL-60.
Very few NTSC players will output PAL in any form.
Your biggest problem will be standards converting your 50i footage into 29.97.
    EDIT.
Here's a great tip for you.
Do not ever shoot at 25 fps in any shape, way or form if you need international release. Use 24p instead - and when the time comes to burn a DVD all you need to do is scale it down & render to DV 24p widescreen from Adobe Media Encoder. All will be fine, and you can use fully progressive images all the way through.
    Pros:
24p footage is universal, 25p is not spec compliant, must be interlaced & will only work in PAL regions.
24p will play - in an upscaling player (such as a modern Universal, or a good BluRay player) at the encoded rate (Hollywood have been pulling this trick for years now) and in a non-upscaling player it will automatically pull to 29.97 with no intervention needed from the user.
    Cons.
None that immediately come to mind - although of course 24p footage has it's own issues but these are outweighed by not having to standards convert.
    Why this is needed.
Because although most US discs will play in PAL players, either as pure NTSC or PAL-60, the reverse is not true and even when you can find a US player that will handle a 25i stream, you will run into difficulties with the display because the mains is at the wrong frequency (60Hz instead of 50Hz) and the image will be garbled, black & white or missing altogether. A study by Sony showed that perhaps 1/20 players can output PAL frame rates properly in NTSC regions.

  • Audio is garbled.

When I try to use iChat or Skype, the party on the other end cannot hear me. The audio is completely garbled. This has started just recently.  The video is fine in all applications (iChat; FaceTime; Skype; Photo Booth), and the mic checks out in System Preferences. I have tried this with two mic/camera devices (iSight and Logitech c310) with the same result on both. This problem had started as intermittent, and would sometimes be resolved by restarting the computer. Now it seems to be permanent. I had been able to get good results on a Skype test call, but the last time I played back the recording it, too, was garbled. I have run the AHT, and it reported no problems. When I last tried iChat, the incoming audio was also garbled. Oddly, the audio from various websites (msn.com, iTunes, etc.) is fine, so I hope I am correct in assuming that it is not the audio component on the mobo and, since the video is fine, it is not the graphics card that is at fault.  That leaves as probable a software glitch. Again, that is just my assumption.
I would appreciate any suggestions as to where else to look for the problem. I suppose my last resort would be a visit to the Genius Bar, but I would like to avoid that if possible. Please help if you can. Thanks.

    You're welcome!

Only if you erase your entire hard disk before the reinstall.
If you follow the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3878, you can keep your apps, settings, and data.
If you want more info on the subject, take a look at Kappy's answer here:  http://discussions.apple.com/thread/3531813.  Kappy is an expert I trust on this topic.  You should have no trouble if you follow his instructions carefully.
One trick that might help you is to print out the linked info that you find helpful so you can check off the steps as you are reinstalling.
Of course, making a fresh backup (Time Machine or other) on a different disk immediately before reinstalling, updating, or adding new software is always recommended "just in case" something goes wrong.  If some data files do get lost or damaged, you can copy them back from the backup.
However, when OS or app software that is showing signs of trouble need to be reinstalled for any reason, it seems possible to me that copying the software to your freshly restored system from a backup might copy the problem back with the software.  Therefore, I always recommend that such software be reinstalled from its original distribution source rather than from a backup or migration assistant.  Copying your data files from a backup does not pose similar possible vulnerability.

  • Iphone 5s voice garbled, breaking up

People I call on my iPhone 5s say my voice sounds garbled and is breaking up. Is it a hardware issue?

I am getting the same complaints from people I talk to on the phone.  I started keeping track of when it was happening.  The only common factor that I can find is that all complaints are happening when I am talking to someone while I am in a loud environment.
I tuned off the "Phone Noise Cancelation" feature about a week ago and I have not had any complaints since.  You can find this feature in the settings icon then go to General then look for Accessibility.  The Phone Noise Cancelation option is about half way down the page under accessibility.
    I hope this helps!

  • How can I create a Teststand (1.0.3 or 2.0) distribution without having all of the VIs (6.0.2 or 6.1) in the same directory?

How would I create a Teststand distribution of LabVIEW VIs and maintain the test VI directory structure that I want?
I know that I have to use the application builder to build the custom operator interface, configure it as an ActiveX server, and launch the Teststand engine installation.
The only problem that I have is using the VI packager which puts all of the test code and sequences in a single directory.
This gets quite messy. There are just over 1000 files in the neatly orgainzed directory structure that I have now. (this includes support files, dll's and such)
I have read brief appnotes on configuring the ini file(s) to use
the vi search path that I want, but have not been able to get this to work. Maybe I'm not updating the correct ini? or have to include each subdirectory?
I have currently upgraded from LabVIEW 6.0.2 to 6.1
I am currently using Teststand 1.0.3
I have not upgraded to Teststand 2.0 yet because I have not decided if I want to build at this revision or go through the extra work to mass compile Teststand at LabVIEW 6.1, install the LabVIEW 6i VI Packager Fix, and update the new Teststand LV operator interface with my changes.
At present, I'm not getting the results I want and am quickly running out of time. I have to deliver the project by the 14th of July 2002.
Sorry for the long question and thanks for you help.

    Hi,
I dont think the problem is really related to using the VI Packager but more to how the OI interface applications relates to labVIEW File constants.
If you are using the LabVIEW as the ActiveX Server then there should be no problems. But if you are using the Runtime LabVIEW server such as 'TestStandLVRTS' then the file constant would return different paths.
eg for the Default Path you would get 'C:\TestStand\Components\User\RuntimeServers\LabVIEW' instead of 'c:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW'.
Attacted is an example to show how to change these paths when using your runtime server. Unzip this into your teststand examples folder
Put the INI file in the location of the \user\runtimeservers\labview folder.
    Change the labview adapter t
o use TestStandLVRTS.exe. You can run the example sequence from either the OI or seqeditor.
    I hope this helps

  • Cannot find the Recv Logical system in Distribution Model

    HI experts,
Im triying a Idoc to file scenario, the logical system for PI and R3 has been already created and assinged for the appropriate clients.
and i ve created the port from r3 using tcode we21 and in PI using idx1 and Idx2. The RFC destination also created for PI and R3 system.. when i created the distribution model using BD64 in R2. when i assigning message type i can give the source logical system and i cant find the Receiver logical system...  Also in WE19 i cant find the receiver port (which i created in IDX1 and IDX2)..
Could u tell me how to solve this prob???
    Regards
    Balaji

    Hii Ravi,
    Thanks for your reply,
Yes i have created the port (RFC800) idx1 and give RFC destination which points the R3 system.
I have assigned the meta data to that port using tcode idx2.
And I have created port with port name "PORT800"  in R3 using we21 and give the RFC destination which points the PI system
when im using the WE19... i gave source logical system as R3 Logical system and receiver logical system as PI Logical system.
now im getting error like  "PORT RFC800 DOESNT EXIT IN THE THE TABLE OF PORT DISCRIPTIONS".

  • Runtime error in distribution FM 'CVV5_EVENT_START_DISTRIBUTION'

    Dear All,
I am facing an issue in document distribution. Business scenario: PR is created with a doument. PR goes through a release strategy which is designed through a Workflow. When PR is finally approved, Documnet distribution happens. Business object DRAW is called with event CHANGED and hence this FM CVV5_EVENT_START_DISTRIBUTION is called. However this results in a runtime error due to exception 'NO_RELATION_EXIST'. I am not able to debug and find if any necessary parameter is getting missed and i do not have too much information on DMS.
Can somebody guide me in resolving this issue. If any other information is needed then please post it.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Regards,
    Saud

Thnaks a lot. That note is explicitly for this problem. I will take it forward now. Will revert back in case of any issue. Thanks again.

  • Private app distribution: dev version / testflight / adobe content viewer / b2b distribution

    Hi Adobe Community!
I am finalizing an app for my company that is supposed to be distributed only among our distributors. Apple rejected my Enterprise inquiry since our distributors are not our employees. I wanted to sum up my distribution options now and ask you for feedback. I do not plan to use App Store.
    1. B2B distribution through apple
I can distribute custom b2b app through Apple, but it is available only in few european countries and this does not cover our needs since we cannot supply to all distributors. Also the process looks very complicated and I'd like to not use it.
    2. Adobe Content Viewer distribution
If I tell my customers to download Adobe Content Viewer and sign in with my Adobe ID, the newest version of folios will be automatically downloaded to their devices?
Also on Adobe website it is stated that my folios should be automatically uploaded to Adobe servers - but they are not. From what I read on the forums I understood that it is only available to Creative Cloud subscribers, is it right? If I subscribe will I be able to use this way for as many users I want?
    3. Developer version
Finally I know that I can distribute dev version. I will have to register devices UDIDs but they will expire (after what time?) and how many UDIDs can I register (I read in different places that I can have 50 or 100 testers).
    4. TestFlight
What I undestood so far is that facilitates developeloper version distribution, but wouldn't I be able to use this tool to go around UDIDs expiration?
    Thank a lot!

With DPS enterprise and Apple enterprise account, you can built and deploy enterprised signed app internally within your organisation. Create the app, deploy and host it internally, so anyone who has access to the link can download the app. Not sure if Apple terms allows your distributors from outside your organisation to access and download the app hosted internally within your organisation, check that with Apple.
If Apple terms does not allow, then you can use DPS restricted distribution method to deploy the app on the Appstore, but allow someone access to the content only if they are authenticated via the app, called direct entitlement or restricted distribution. Go here for details: Using restricted distribution with Digital Publishing Suite
Signing in to ACV does not automatically download the latest folio. Your folios are always uploaded on Adobe servers, you cannot host it somewhre else. Anyone can create, upload folios and see the folio in the Adobe Content Viewer. But publishing the folio to be available in an app requires DPS subscription.
You can register upto 100 UDID's on Apple dev portal. I don't think the UDID's expires so long as your Apple Dev account is active but the certificates expires exactly one year from the day it was generated.

  • Ad Hoc distribution under Enterprise license

    Hi,
I have a customer who's workforce has a 1,000 iPads and is interested in distributing their publications either Ad-Hoc or through Internal Distribution, without going through the Apple Store. Are there any issues, limitations using the Enterprise License with Adobe DPS?
I understand Apple has a 100 unit limit on Ad-Hoc using the Developer License.
    Tony

Apple has a 100 device limit per provisioning profile for ad hoc distribution. It's a cumbersome method at best and won't scale easily to 1000 ipads.
The correct solution for this type of desired behaviour is an Apple Enterprise license and DPS. This will let you build an app that can be distributed outside the Apple app store, to your employees only. Depending on theneed to control the level of access to content, folios can either published as public free ( controlling access by controlling the app distribution) or published as public/retail using the direct entitlement APIs to provide login level access to the folio within the app.

  • Public distribution of iPad app, but not in Apple's App Store

I know we can make a Digital Publishing Suite app avalable for private distribution with an Adobe Enterprise account and an Apple Enterprise account.
But we have a client who wants to make an app available to the public for download on a company web page, but not have it available in the Apple App Store.
    Is that even possible?
    Dave

    No.

  • Cannot assign an email address to SharePoint group (distribution groups)

    Hello,
I configured incoming email awhile back in our SharePoint 2010 environment and it works great. I can assign an email address to a list and the necessary contact is created in AD in the OU I configured for incoming email and of course the item emailed in
is added to the list.  However, if I try to assign an email address to a SharePoint group to create a distribution group, the following happens:
The following error has occurred while attempting to contact the Directory Management Service: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.
From what I've found on Technet and other resources, if incoming email works as expected, assign an email address to a group should work without issue but this obviously isn't the case.  I've dug around in the 14 hive and pretty much the same exact error
is found there (with just a little more detail):
System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
    at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters)
at Microsoft.SharePoint.DirectorySoap.SPDirectoryManagementProxy.CreateDistributionGroup(String Alias, String Name, String Description, String ContactCN, RequestInfo Info, DistributionGroupFlags Flags)
at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPGroup.CreateDMS(String dlAlias, String friendlyName, String description, String[] members, String requestor, String justification, Int32& jobId)
Any ideas what this could be?  I'd imagine the timer service account has the appropriate permission on the OU as it can create objects for lists with incoming email enabled without issue.

For the issue with group members who are not added during the creation process ...
I followed this Technet article : Configure
incoming email for a SharePoint 2013 farm
But in the paragraph "Configure AD DS to be used with Directory Management Service", I added
delegation of control for the following common tasks :
    Create, delete and manage groups
Modify the membership of a group
The distribution group gets created in AD with members in SharePoint 2013 ! It should work with 2010 as well…
PS : Do not forget to set up these rights, not only for the Central Administration Application pool Identity account, but for all
    your Web Applications!

  • Creating distribution lists in SAP CRM 5.0 business workplace

    Hi Experts,
We have CRM 5.0 and I have tried to create distribution lists for

After defining a name and a folder (that is then created) for the
list the recipient list insertion is a following task.
I can search for partners of different type by F4 help but no
matter the type of the partner searched - the type that is
automatically entered to the lists recipents table is "shared

Please help, is this a setting that can be undone or what might
be a problem in the procedure that i use in creating a list?
has anyone else had similar problems?
    Thank You so much,
