Ge4Ti4200 VTD8X 128 -video capture..audio pickup?

I am setting up my Ge4Ti4200 card for video capture using my VCR as the video input. I want to put VCR video onto CDs. I need to know how to set it up so that the audio is captured along with the video. There is  nothing in the manual or that I can find in the forums about this. Does the card capture both sound and picture?

Get an RCA to Mini plug adaptor and plug audio into your microphone jack.

  • Ti4800SE-VTD8X & WDM video capture problem...

sheeesh... I did everything I know to solve the problem... I read every thread on this help forum having the word "WDM" using the search engine and also on other webpages and forums. I can see that I am not the only one having problem with the WDM drivers
Can anyone help me with this  ?(  :
The WDM driver fails to load and make my system boot up time to around 45 seconds to 1 minute which is normally booting in less than 18 seconds without the WDM driver installed. In the "Device Manager", I see a nice lil " ! " on the "nVidia WDM Video Capture (Universal)" codec.
Here is what I did to date :
    1) I had an MSI Ti4200-VTD8X on a different setup computer and had the same problem. I changed my 250 power supply to a 350 watts as I read it might solve some problem but it did not.
    2) I exchanged the Ti4200 for a brand new MSI GeForce4 Ti4800SE-VTD8X (MS-8900) and STILL have the same problem
    3) I completely change my "old" P4 1.8 to a brand new setup (see at bottom) AND STILL have the same problem.
    4) Why did I buy an nVidia product instead of ATI ?   dunno...
    5) I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, uninstall, reinstall, uninstall, reinstall... huh ?  ?(  oh yeah, the nVidia WDM drivers 1.21 and 1.22 still doesn't work. I even tried old WDM drivers as some said solved their problem. Installed 1.04, still the same problem.
    6) I have tried the WDM from MSI (was happy to see a newer version 1.27) and disaster  8o  computer crash with a nice blue screen and reset itself as soon XP loads this famous WDM driver during boot sequence. Had to start in safe mode using the last known working version... At least, that worked...
    7) The only way I can make this crappy driver to works (and that is at 50%) is this way
    a) in the device manage, I right clic the faulty codec (that XP kindly took the time to open for me to show me that this is not working...) and go to "update the driver"
    b) then I click "install from a specified location"
    c) then I click "do not search, I will chose the driver to install"
    d) then I can see "nVidia WDM Video Capture (Universal)" in the list so I click on it
    e) click "next" button
    f) XP reinstall the driver withtout the " ! " once I go back in the "Device Manager".
The only thing with that is that it is unstable. Sometimes it might work for 1 hour, sometimes 10 minutes. What it does is it completely crash the application which is using the WDM, for instance InterVideo WinProducer. And here is the kind and gentle warning message box from XP saying : "InterVideo WinProducer has to shut down. We are sorry blah blah blah blah..."   and of course you lose any recordings you were capturing or working on...
If I reboot the system, the codec is once again not loaded properly.
So, can some one help me with this ???
    Thank you !  :D

Try and download demo version, and see if you have use for it. I would like to use it, when I want, to watch DVD on my TV.
So now we need MSI or nVidia to make a WDM driver that works with nVidia VGA 44.03 driver.
    Thanks man !
I have tried the TV Tool and quite frankly, I don't really like it... For the moment that is... It messed up a little the video settings like resolution and refresh rate. I have had numerous errors also saying to update to the latest version but you already told me about that.
I have noticed something with 41.07 driver that I lost a nice feature that might interest you ! In fact, with this feature, I think you would not need the TV Tool.
I had the option before to maxize the TV out to full screen when the DVD player started or when I watched any video format.
I can have the Windows Media Player (using nVidia nDVD for DVD) running minimized on my main VGA monitor and get the S-Video out run full screen which was really nice. Sadly, this option looks to be nowhere to find with the Detonator 41.07 version.  :(
I don't know if there will be a serious revision about the newest Detonator drivers so it can support our card with full features like the full screen one...
When you fix a problem, there is a new one that come out  :O
If you get any hint on how to complaint at MSI or nVidia, it would be great to let them know that something has changed since the v.41.07 that makes a lot of nVidia users having problems with the WDM issue.
Thanks again, at least, I can capture some video ! But not able to watch it full screen anymore on the TV out
    Let's keep in touch !

I just found out that iPhone disables making Videos when I'm on a call.
This really ***** - It lets me taking the photos, but no video option.

This is totally stupid of Apple. Video is a very useful feature and one of the reasons I paid $560 to upgrade and a bad implementation.

  • How to fix audio  of a video captured from DV output of camcorder using Adobe Premiere Elements 8?

    Hello,
I purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 8 about one week ago.  I installed it and everything seem to work well in my first project.  I am new at editing videos but I was succesful in testing it by loading an existing video file in avi format from my computer and then doing some very basic editing (I splitted 2 scenes and added a title).
After my first succesful project (described above) I started a brand new project. Here, I want to capture a one hour video  from the dv output of a video camera. So I connected the camera to the PC and then started adobe elements 8.  Before starting the capture I only checked the boxes that said "capture video" and "capture audio" (the other 2 boxes that said download to timeline and autoanalyze were left unchecked).  After that I started the capture process.
After the video capture was completed, a small window opened at the bottom saying that a PEAK FILE was being generated.    After the peak file generation finished, I looked at the captured video.  The video looked perfect.  However the audio of the video was too fast. By this, I mean that the voices of the people in the movie were like they were speaking at more than twice the normal speed.  Or to explain it in a different way, they sounded like the  chipmunks.
So now I come to the question of this thread I started.  Is there a way that I can fix the audio part of the video I captured?  I will appreciate any help on this. Below I listed a few additional details in case this is needed.
    Thanks,
    ronel_8
PS.  Here are some more details about my system:
    1) Operating System: Windows XP
    2) I am capturing the video on an external drive with 40 GB of available space. The external drive is connected to a PC via a USB connection.
    3) Computer CPU: 2.4 GHZ
    4) Computer RAM: 1.25 GB
    5) Video tape is about one hour long.

    Hello Bill and Steve,
Your responses are very helpful.  Although I was not able to fix the problem yet I do seem to think from what you both say that my system may be too slow to capture the one hour video. In any case I will copy below more details about the system as you requested:
    1) Results from running Gspot:
The audio section of the Gspot window was blank. That is, no information was there.  The File and Container sections say:
    File Size: 12.6 GB
Note: 7.63 GB unneeded bytes at the end of the file
    DV Type1 AVI
    2) I did run the Gspot on another good avi file (captured to the PC with same camcorder) and says:
    Codec PCM Audio
    32kHz 1024 kb/s tot (2 chnls).
I suppose these are the audio settings from the camera.
    3) Yes, I am capturing video from a miniDV camcorder (JVC GR-D70U).
    4) I did not defragment the external drive prior to capturing the video with the audi problem.  So I will give that I try and see if it solves the problem.
    5) The external drive I am using is formatted to NTFS.
    6) The computer is a Dell Dimension 2400, CPU: 2.4 GHZ, RAM: 1.25 GB
    7) HDD Size=74GB and 11 GB of free space.  But I am downloading video to external drive that has 60 GB free space.
One last piece of information that may be useful.  If I open the AVI file (that I captured with Adobe Premiere Elements) with Windows Media Player, the audi sounds good.  However if I open it with Adobe it has the problem I mentioned in my previous e-mail.
    I'll aprreciate any further hints.
    Thanks again,

  • Capture Audio and Video to different disks or not?

I thought that capturing audio and video to separate disks was more efficient, now I see in the FCS 2 documentation it says that this is not recommended for any of the DV formats. But it does not say why, or what the consequences of doing this are...
    Does anyone out there know?
    Thanks,
    Pete d.

    Peter Durso wrote:
Now, Is there any value in putting the render files on a drive that is separate from the Capture disks?
    Pete D.
Absolutely. Listen to your drives while doing an intense render. The Capture drive is grabbing all of the video clips in the stack, the system drive is grabbing software. If you render to the Capture drive, that same drive has to write, too. Reduce the load by using a Render drive.
I have four drives: System, Capture, Render, Output. The last is used for all exports, encodes, and transcodes.

  • Capture audio and video files to seperate files

    Forum,
Having suffered problems with OS 10.5 and Quicktime 7.4.1 I have done a clean install with 10. 4 .11.
When I select capture the following notice appears
"Audio only capture selected, video preview disabled"
In system settings "capture audio and video to seperate files " is NOT checked.
But that may not mean the same as the statement in in the capture window.
I have searched HELP and a book called" Optimizing your Final Cut Pro System" but can not find an answer.
    Advice would be appreciated.

  • Is there a way to CAPTURE audio/video off the net then run it m.m. prsntn

I'm fairly new to the mac genre. In windows we had apps like Camtasia to
capture audio/video off the net. I was hoping something like that would
be avail for the mac and then once capture it how would I edit it and
include it in a presentation software; for example, keynote?
Is there added hardware req'd (?Capture board)? what would be a good software mac
    compatible?

I'd like to capture audio and video for example sometimes just need to capture the
audio if some instruction is coming say over a quicktime or media player for my work.
Then sometimes I need to capture the audio and video when they ware actually showing me
charts and explaining them things like that.
is snap Z the way to go then for quality and fair pricing to get good results.
Do we have any resident applications already on the ilife variety that could be utilized for
something like this or is the only way to go through a 3rd party vendor?

  • Video and Audio not in sync after capture

    Hi there,
This is probably a common problem, I have trawled the site but can't seem to find and explanation for it.
I'm capturing vide/audio into final cut pro from my SONY DVR. The video i have streaming into the sony DVR is from a small covert video device which records video/audio onto an SD card. SO I'm running that into the DVR and then DVR is outputting that as DV PAL firewire (uncontrollable device).
I'm capturing the 40 minutes of video as one clip, and when i drag it into the timeline the audio and video are WAY out of sync. Is there a simple reason for why this is happening?
It's almost as if not capturing it right.
    I hope someone can help,
    Thanks in advance.
    Jamie McIntyre

It is interesting that you are having this problem. I recently purchased a brand new Mac Pro (a week ago) and I am using Premiere Pro and it is doing the exact same thing. I mean this video and audio is REALLy out of sync. I tried capturing an hour at a time, and 30 minutes at a time. Still, no luck. I was debating on getting Final Cut, but after reading this post I am rethinking not only Final Cut, but using Apple all together. Part of me thinks that it is not a Premiere or Final Cut problem but a Mac OS problem. But hey, what do I know. I only edit for a living.

  • Why can't I get any audio sound on my Hi8 video capture in iMovie?

    Hi
I have just captured some video clips from my Hi8 Camcorder and exported it to iMovie on my Apple Mac. Unfortunately there is no audio sound on the captured video. Can any one help? I am using Roxio Video Capture USB to capture the video from my camcorder.
    Nazimoja

    >I am using Roxio Video Capture USB
That's the problem.  The Roxio device captures in a highly compressed, multiplexed (muxed) format that isn't intended for editing.  Muxed files won't playback audio without the proper software installed on your system.  You could try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the captured files to an editable format, but that means you'll be taking a double hit on quality.
The proper way to capture analog footage for editing is to use a  qualified "DV Device" (DV camcorder, converter or VTR) to convert the analog signal into a Firewire signal and use iMovie, FCE or FCP to capture and edit.  Or, in your case, you could use a Digital8 camcorder for playback directly via Firewire.
FWIW, this is the Final Cut Studio forum.  The iMovie forum is located here: https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/imovie?view=discussions

AB only takes a single frame screenshot DUDE, so what gives you the idea that it would record audio for that? It does not capture live video from games or anything else.
Why do you assume that i know that AB is not capable of audio recording since its a single capture device? I'm not as computer savvy as you. I'll teach you how to moderate dude: When a question is asked you reply this way: "AB only takes a single frame rate screenshot and is not capable of recording audio at the same time." Never assume that the person asking knows about technical stuff like you, that's why i'm asking DUDE. I wouldn't ask if knew the answer, duh! Lol.

  • Capturing audio and video .....

Hello everybody, I'm new to the world of Adobe Premiere Elements, a source present. I have a pavilon pc hp m9040n, Windows Vista Premium 32-bit, Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0. I want to capture audio and video on a DVD, the pilot is set to DV / HDV and the HDV format in the acquisition and says that the peripheral acquicision is not online. The same happens when I connect a video camera Hi8 Sony. Can help to solve this?, Thank you very much.

It sounds like you are having problmes capturing from two separate cameras. What are the manufacturers and the exact model numbers please? Also, how are these cameras attached to the computer, i.e. FireWire cable into the corresponding FireWire port on the computer?
It sounds as though you are attempting to do the Capture from within PE3. Is this correct? If so, what is the order that you connect the cameras, turn them on, their settings and the order that you launch PE3, and also the Capture module of PE3? Might be something there.
    Good luck,

  • Simultaneous Video & Multitrack Audio Capture with FCS?

Hello! We're about to start videotaping our services; we have a JVC GY-HD110U video camera, we bought a 24-inch iMac with 4GB RAM a couple of weeks ago, and we just ordered Final Cut Studio.
We already have iMovie and Final Cut Express, so I know I can capture the sermons from the JVC with no problem; I get a direct feed from the pastor's mic out of the sound board into the camera, so I have good audio.
However, we want to record the entire service, and I'd like to be able to get a multitrack audio recording so I can mix it down later. Assuming I get a mixer with FireWire, can I simultaneously capture video from the camera, and multitrack audio from the mixer, using Final Cut Pro? Or do I need to record the multitrack audio to a different computer, and add it to the captured video?
    Thanks,
    Steve

I think the OP means they want to be able to mix the audio in STP or FCP, and not be stuck with a stereo mix upon capture.
But you still can't capture audio from a different source as the video at the same time.
I can highly recommend the Alesis HD24 24track hard disk recorder, with the optional FW tray. This thing is awesome. You can jam sync the time code from your camera to it and have matching timecode. Just run the outputs out of your mixer (it doesn't have mic preamps) and enable as many tracks as you're using, and record it to the hard drive. Then pull that drive (easy) and connect the FW tray and hook up to your computer. Transfer to your scratch disk. Import the files into FCP, sync to your video using the timecode. Mix in FCP or send to STP and mix.
Great solution that's really come down in price. Didn't really catch on as a technology, but I've used it several times without fail. I get a bit nervous recording anything directly to a computer, but this thing is rock solid.

  • Can we capture the video and audio using cam and microphone in Edge Animate?

    Hi Everyone,
I got a new requirement from the client to create a HTML5 based functionality through which one can capture the video and audio using his web-cam/camcorder and microphone. I have researched on internet and found that there is api available (not reliable) http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/getusermedia/intro/ . I am not a coder by profession and use Edge animate to create HTML 5 based animations and stuff like that. Another problem which i have found that the api only works well with Chrome and Opera and not with Mozilla, IE..
Can anybody help me out in this, please...
    Thanks & Warm Regards
    Vikas

    Hi, Vikas-
After a brief bit of research, you're definitely hitting upon the limitation of the browsers.  Not all of the browsers have implemented this part of the HTML5 standard, so you're going to either have to use Flash or be limited to these specific browsers.
